The purposes of the study were to define the clothing evaluative criteria concept as an internal evaluative criteria and buying evaluative criteria based on the Engel-Kollot-Blackwell's consumer behavior model, and to explore the differences between internal evaluative criteria and buying evaluative criteria imprically. The study also aimed to find out the differences between internal evaluative criteria and buying evaluative criteria according to clothing items(underwears, pajama, jeans, blouse, two-pieces, coat) The questionnaires were administered to college female students living in Seoul. Means and Standard Deviations were calculated, and Discriminant Analysis were used for statistical inferences. The results were as follows: In underwears, internal evaluative criteria were comfort and fiber, while toying evaluative criteria was color. In pajama, internal evaluative criteria was comfort and fiber, while buying evaluative criteria was good buy. In jean, internal evaluative criteria was fit and suitability to individual, while buying evaluative criteria was suitability to individual and price. In blouse, internal evaluative criteria was beauty and harmony with other clothing. In two-pieces, internal evaluative criteria was color and beauty, while buying evaluative criteria was suitability to individual. In coat, internal evaluative criteria was textile and color. In conclusion, as shown in the results above, the evident differences between internal evaluative criteria and buying evaluative criteria and buying evaluative criteria were testified, therefore evaluative criteria should he defined as internal evaluative criteria and buying evaluative criteria, and study of evaluative criteria should be explored according to clothing items.

The purposes of this study were 1) to test the differences between two groups who have high and low purchase of apparel in low-price retailing concerning consumers' beliefs and attitude toward low-prce retailing 2) to identify differences between these two groups in type of information search and use of information sources and 3) to investigate differences between department store and low-price retailing in consumers' satisfaction toward products and purchase frequencies of apparel items and differences between two groups in demographic variables. The data were collected via a self-administeered questionnaire from 474 femail adults in Seoul Korea and analyzed by factor analysis t-test and paired t-test. The results of this study were as follows : First based on a series of t-test and paired t-test. the results showed that those who had a high purchase of apparel in low-price retailing had significantly higher belief scores on all of the five store attributes and a more favorable attitude toward low-price retailing than did those who had low purchase. Second those who had high purchase of apparel in low-price retailing had significantly higher scores on ongoing and prepurchase information search and on use of mass media information and interpersonal information source than did those who had low purchase. Third in case of high purchase consumers of apparel in low-price retailing there were not found significant differences between department store and low-price retailing there were not found significant differences between department store and low-price retailing in purchase frequency on man's and women's casual wear of department stores than low-price retailing. However low purchase consumers of apparel in low-price retailing revealed significantly higher purchase frequency on all of seven apparel items of department stores than low-price retailing. Finally there were significant differences between two groups in demographic variables. The papers discussed theoretical implications as well as manageral implications.
Snowboarder accidents at ski resorts are increasing; therefore, it is essential to wear protective wrist, hip and knee protectors when snowboarding. However, most studies focus on the improvement of gear or expansion of safety facilities with few studies on protectors that directly safeguard the body from accidents caused by tumbling. Protectors currently on the market do not properly consider the needs of the users. Therefore, this study investigates the reality of usage and satisfaction rate of those that use snowboarding protectors along with factors deemed important upon wearing them to provide the grounds for the development of comfortable protectors. Subjects were 1,058 adults in their 20s to 40s. First, a survey was conducted regarding demographic traits as well as the wearing and purchasing of protectors. Second, 325 people that purchased and wore protectors were investigated in regards to the wearing satisfaction rate of current commercial protectors. The results showed that 86% of the 1,058 subjects wore protectors; knee protectors (72%), hip protectors (57%) and wrist protectors (38%). Important factors upon purchasing and wearing satisfaction were studied according to demographic traits, snowboarding experience, and number of snowboard rides for one season. As a result, the damage rate increased along with the number of snowboard rides for one season. Important factors considered when purchasing varied significantly according to sex, age, snowboarding experience, and favored slopes. The results of this study will help in the design of comfortable protectors for snowboarders.
Compression wear provides clothing pressure and affects how blood flows. Facilitating a blood flow is one of the most important functions of compression wear. The wearer's sensibility should be considered when designing compression wear. This study instructed participants to put on 5 types of sport compression wear with different pressure levels (CP-1 to CP-5), measured clothing pressure, blood flow level, blood flow rate, and surface temperature, and examined the pressure level that influenced blood flow through a subjective sensibility assessment. An experiment measured the clothing pressure of compression wear available in the market and found that the pressure ranged 0.6-1.1 kPa for the ankle, 0.7-2.3 kPa for the calf, and 0.9-1.9 kPa for the thigh. Meanwhile, blood flow levels and rates significantly increased when participants wore CP-1, which had the highest clothing pressure level, and CP-2 and CP-4 with middle-level pressure. After exercise, CP-2's surface temperature was the highest and revealed that wearing CP-2 facilitated blood flow. CP-2 was evaluated as most positive in the sensibility assessment and showed a clothing pressure of 0.67-1.82 kPa; its pressure for the calf did not surpass 2.0 kPa. Considering positive physical effect of compression wear on blood flow and subjective psychological effect on participants, CP-2 (0.67-1.82 kPa) would have the most suitable clothing pressure level among other types of the wear in this study.
This study explores the effect of anthropomorphism on fashion chatbot reliability, mediated by perceived intelligence and cognitive evaluation. The moderating effects of individuals' need for human interaction between chatbot anthropomorphism and perceived intelligence, cognitive evaluation, and chatbot reliability are also explored. Participants, who were recruited through the online research firm, responded to questions after watching a video clip showing a conversation with a fashion chatbot on a mobile screen. The data were collected through Mturk, a crowdsourcing platform with an online research panel. All responses (N = 212) were analyzed using SPSS 26.0 for the descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and PROCESS procedure. The results demonstrate that chatbot anthropomorphism increases chatbot reliability, and this is mediated by chatbot intelligence. Although chatbot anthropomorphism increases cognitive evaluation, the effect of cognitive evaluation on chatbot reliability is not significant; thereby, the effect of chatbot anthropomorphism on chatbot reliability is not mediated by the cognitive evaluation. The direct effect of anthropomorphism on chatbot reliability is also moderated by individuals' need for human interaction. For participants with a high need for human interaction, chatbot anthropomorphism increases chatbot reliability; however, anthropomorphism does not significantly affect chatbot reliability for participants with a low need for human interaction. The study's findings contribute to expanding the literature on consumers' new technology acceptance by testing the antecedents affecting service reliability.
This study is intended to help internet marketers by trying to segment consumer who had experience in buying clothing in internet shopping-malls. Concrete purpose of this study was 1)to segment by Buying Motives of Internet Clothing Buyer, 2) to identify demographic traits of segmented groups and 3) to identify buying behavior traits, internet shopping-mall choice criteria of segmented groups. The data of 500 respondents were collected by questionnaires in internet survey site. The results were as follows : 1) 5 factors; convenience, informational, hedonic, economic, easiness of refund were revealed by factor analysis, 2) 3 group types by buying motives; information-oriented, hedonic, convenience-oriented were identified by cluster analysis, 3) 3 groups were different in demographic traits, 4) goal-directed/experience-directed behavior and shopping-mall choice criteria of three groups were different. And then marketing implications were discussed.
The purpose of this study was to segment consumers based on sales promotion orientation and examine the differences between the consumer segments on shopping behaviors and promotion usage behaviors. A total of 462 responses collected from a questionnaire survey to subjects aged over 20s were analyzed. Cluster analysis on sales promotion orientation identified four groups including rational group(21%), active group(28%), insensitive group(22.1%), and interest group(28.9%) of sales promotion. ANOVA revealed significant differences among the four groups on shopping behaviors(information seeking, store visit, and clothing purchase) and promotion usage behaviors(the usage level of sales promotion, impulse buying, brand switching, and store switching). The active and interest groups were more actively seeking information than the other two groups were. The active group was most affected by sales promotion showing the highest impulse buying and brand and store switching behaviors, and the interest group was most active on store visit and clothing purchase. The insensitive group was the least engaged in all the behaviors.
The objectives of the study were two folds. The first objective was to determine the dimensions of the evaluative criteria of various clothing items (underwear, pajamas, jeans, blouse, two-piece, coat). The second objective was to compare the importance of the dimensions according to the clothing items and the socioeconomic status of the subjects. The questionnaires were administered to college female students living in Seoul. Principal component factor analysis with varimax rotation and ANOVA were used for the analysis. The results were as follows; 1) The evaluative criteria dimensions were found to be different according to clothing items. (1) In underwear, pajamas, jeans, evaluative criteria were classified into Aesthetic dimension, economic dimension and Functional dimension. (2) In blouse, two-piece, coat, evaluative criteria were classified into Aesthetic dimension and practical dimension. 2) there were partially significant differences in placing importance on each evaluative criteria dimension between socio-economic groups. (1) In jeans, there was a significant difference in placing importance on Aesthetic dimension between socioeconomic status groups. (2) In blouse and two-piece there was a significant difference in placing importance on Practical dimension between socioeconomic status groups.
The purposes of this study were 1) to segment the market based on purchase frequency of products such as apparel, food, home electronics, life commodity in department store and low-price retailing, 2) to identify differences among segments in belief and attitude toward each store, purchase frequency of apparel items in each store and demographic variables. The data were collected via a self-administered questionnaire from 274 married women living in Seoul, Korea and analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and x$^2$-test. The results of this study were as follows: First, using cluster analysis on purchase frequency of products in each store, four groups were identified and labeled as department store patronage/ non-purchasers of apparel in low-price retailing(25.2%), purchasers of apparel in department store and low-price retailing(16.8%), low-price retailing patronage(30.3%) and non-purchasers of products in department store and low-price retailing(27.0%). Second, a series of one-way ANOV As revealed significant differences among four segments on beliefs of low-price retailing(four store attributes: price and variety of apparel product, facilities for convenient shopping, promotion, brand-reputation and fashionability of apparel product) and department store(three store attributes: price and variety of apparel product, facilities for convenient shopping and promotion) and attitude toward low-price retailing and department store. Attitude toward each store was yielded using Fishbein's multiattributes model. There were also significant differences among groups in purchase frequency of seven apparel items in low-price retailing and six apparel items in department store, and six demographic and personal variables(age, educational status, type of husband's occupation, monthly income and housing). Finally, the papers discussed manageral implications for each segments as well as theoretical implications.
In this study, two alternative models are developed and tested in order to investigate the relationship between retailer image and its private brand attitude. The halo effect model hypothesizes that retailer image is related as a halo in private brand evaluation and the summary construct model hypothesizes that retailer image functions as a summary construct of private brand evaluation. The results indicate there are moderating effects of 1) familiarity with a private brand and 2) the characteristics of a product category High familiarity is related with the summary construct model and low familiarity the halo effect model. In private brand food, the summary construct model fits better and explains more adequately that private brand evaluation influences retailer image as a summary construct. In private brand clothes, however, the halo effect model performs better in explaining the relationship between retailer image and private brand attitude.
