Approximate Friction and Gravity Compensation in Haptic Laparoscopic Surgery Simulator (햅틱 복강경 수술 시뮬레이터의 마찰력 및 중력 보상)

  • Laparoscopic surgery is being used in various surgical fields because it minimizes scarring. Laparoscopic operations require practical hand skills, so surgeons train on animals and via surgery training tool sets. However, these tool sets do not give the surgeon the sensation of touching real organs. A recently developed laparoscope simulator has a high friction force along the translational axis and a high gravity force along the pitch axis, and therefore it does not permit the operator to control his or her hands delecately. In the paper, the friction force along the axes is auumed to depend on the veolcity, and the gravity force on the angle and distance. We develop a compensation model that combines the gravity and friction force models.

  • Currently, the lack of equipments for the medical practice and education made it impossible for the people in medical institution to carry out suitable experiments for observing human bodies. In this paper, the authors embodied three dimensional images and moving pictures for the human skeletal structure, digestive organs, cardiovascular system and their processes over the internet framework. The three dimensional images and moving picture made it possible for the general people as well as the specialists to observe and obtain informations with regard to the human body. specially, the authors realized a framework for visualizing the human bodies in three dimensional images, via which a detailed and realistic architecture for the human body and its organs tan be obtained. The system developed in this paper can be used in the practice and education of the people engaged in medical fields.

Design of a Dual-Band On-Body Antenna for a Wireless Medical Repeater System (의료용 무선 중계 시스템용 이중 대역 인체 부착형 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a dual-band on-body antenna operating at MICS and ISM band for a wireless medical repeater system is proposed and the antenna performance including the human body effect is investigated. The designed dual-band antenna is comprised of a top patch for ISM band and bottom patch for MICS band. Simulation and measurement was carried out in order to analyze the effects of human body on antenna performance considering real use. The proposed antenna has required impedance bandwidth enough to cover both MICS and ISM bands. The measured peak gains were -12.47 dBi and 1.71 dBi at the each center frequency of MICS and ISM bands, respectively. Furthermore, the antenna has the maximum radiation directed toward the inside of the human body in the MICS band and directed toward the outside in the ISM band. In addition, the return loss property of the antenna is insensitive to human body effects so that the proposed antenna is well suited for the on-body wireless medical repeater system.

Study on image quality and dosage comparison of F/S system and DR system (F/S시스템과 DR시스템의 화질과 피폭선량 비교에 관한 검토)

  • Currently, many hospitals are hastening to introduce digital radiography systems. This is a direct result of the intentions to improve medical services and to digitalize radiology information systems, and is also leading to the improvement of medical imaging technology. Throughout F/S system's long history, many people have researched the image quality and dosage concerning these systems, and as a result, huge improvements in the dosage of patients were possible. Similarly, I believe that DR systems need the same kind of effort. Of course, decreases in dosage that ignore image quality are unthinkable. The results of experiments conducted by five hospitals during a period of 3 months brought to us the conclusions listed below. 1. Based on the comparison and analysis of the exposure control of F/S systems and DR systems, DR systems generally showed higher exposure control for parts of the phantom that became thicker, and the exposure control improved rapidly as the thickness increased. 2. DR systems still proved to be somewhat deficient in resolution measurements compared to existing F/S systems. The image processing part of DR systems contributed much to these result. 3. Under conditions used clinically, the dosage measurements of DR systems were generally higher regardless of region. 4. According to the evaluation of image quality, DR systems showed a higher degree of satisfaction as the thickness of the region became thinner. As mentioned above and based on the mutual relationship experiments between the dosage and image quality of F/S systems and DR systems, research to increase the satisfaction of DR systems must be considered.

  • 병원의 의료 서비스에 대한 고객의 불만과 고충 내용을 분석하여 불만족을 파악함으로써 고객 불만족의 재발을 막고 이에 대한 해결방안을 제시하고 적용하는 고객만족 경영 전략을 수립하고자 분석한 결과 다음과 같다. 1. 조사대상자의 성별은 남자가 높은 분포를 보였고 계절별로는 환자측면과 보호자측면 모두 여름에 높았고 요일별로는 모든 측면에서 월요일에 불만족이 많았다. 이용형태별로는 환자측면은 외래가, 보호자측면은 입원이 높았고 발생부서별로는 환자측면과 보호자측면 모두 진료부에 대한 불만사항이 많았고 소리함을 통한 접수가 많았다. 2. 불만요일별 항목 특성 중 진료서비스 항목은 진료정 확성이 높은 분포를 보였고 보호자는 진료서비스에서, 환자는 절차서비스에서 높은 불만을 보였다. 3. 발생부서별로는 절차서비스는 진료지원에서 높은 점수가, 진료서비스는 진료부에서 높은 점수를 보였으며 친절서비스에서는 간호부가 높은 점수를 보였고 편의환경서비스에서는 행정부가 높은 점수를 보였으며 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보였다.4. 불만요인별 상관관계의 결과는 진료서비스는 성별의 역 상관관계를 보였다. 친절서비스는 성별과 연령이 정상관 관계를 보였고, 진료서비스는 역상관 관계를 보였다. 절차서비스는 성별과 연령, 진료서비스, 친절서비스가 역상관 관계를 보였다. 편의환경서비스는 성별과 연령이 정상관 관계를 보였고, 진료서비스, 친절서비스, 절차서비스는 역상관 관계를 보였다. 현 의료서비스에 대한 고객의 불만 및 고충 내용이 병원 의료서비스의 질을 개선하는데 이바지할 수 있는 기초자료로써 그 의의가 있다.

A Study on User Satisfaction of Information Facilities for the Visually Impaired (시각장애인의 실내안내시설 설치 이용만족도에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The ratio of the visually impaired is gradually increasing due to various causes such as natural aging, accidents, and environmental changes. Therefore, this study has two folds. Firstly, it aims to analyze the current satisfaction level with information facilities for the visually impaired. Secondly, it aims to examine the factors affecting the satisfaction with indoor information facilities. Through this study, it helps to identify problems of information facilities for the visually impaired and it works as a practical data for further improvements. Methods: For 50 visually impaired people, a telephone survey was conducted on the satisfaction with the braille blocks, braille signboards, braille information boards with tactile map, audio guide devices, and safety egress devices. Microsoft Excel and SPSS 26.0 were used for the analysis. Results: It was confirmed that the overall satisfaction with the indoor information facilities was very low. The more the visually impaired people recognized the installation standards, and the better the maintenance was, the higher the satisfaction. In the case of braille blocks and braille signboards, the effect of information transfer on satisfaction was relatively high. In the case of audio guide device and safety egress device, the standard suitability influenced satisfaction. Implications: The low level of satisfaction with the overall information facilities can impede visually impaired people from receiving practical help through the information facilities. Factors influencing the satisfaction level of each facility were identified, which makes it possible to prepare effective improvement measures.

Factors Affecting Women's Satisfaction with Hospital Environment Following Childbirth (분만 후 여성의 의료환경 만족도에 미치는 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine factors of women's satisfaction of hospital environment following childbirth. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from 783 women visited at 101 hospitals for delivery and frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analyses were performed. Women's satisfaction was significantly related with personal and environmental factors. Specifically, a kind of patient room, using a shared room regardless of their preference, using family delivery room, planned hospitalization, gestational week at delivery, and hospital locations significantly predicted the variance of women's satisfaction. Therefore, hospital user satisfaction should be carefully understood as a consequence of interaction of person and environment and the level of satisfaction can be represented by the degree of congruency between personal and environmental characteristics. Furthermore, healthcare providers should develop strategies to reduce gaps between personal preferences/will/control and environmental situations, contributing to women's satisfaction with hospital following childbirth.

Mediating Factors Affecting Mental Health Promotion Behavior of Nursing Students : Focusing on the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills Model (의료취약지역 간호대학생의 건강증진행위에 영향을 미치는 요인: 정보-동기-행동기술모델을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between health knowledge, health attitude, social support, self-efficacy, and health promotion behaviors among nursing students in medically underserved areas using the Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills Model, as well as to identify the factors influencing health promotion behaviors. The study was conducted from October 1 to October 20, 2022, with 157 nursing students residing in medically underserved areas G. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 25.0 program, including descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the factors affecting health promotion behaviors were school life satisfaction, stress management, social support, and self-efficacy, with social support being the most significant factor. The total explanatory power was 84.9%. Based on these results, we hope to develop a health promotion program that can increase the interest of nursing students in health promotion and encourage active participation in health behaviors, which can contribute to becoming a healthy nurse.

Factors Affecting the Consciousness of Biomedical Ethics of the Nursing Students before Clinical Practice In Convergence Era (융합 시대의 임상실습 전 간호대학생의 생명의료윤리의식에 대한 영향요인 확인)

  • The purpose of the study was to identify the factors affecting the consciousness of biomedical ethics of the nursing students before clinical practice. Data were collected among 183 nursing students in G city, from June 12 to 30, 2017. Data were analyzed by using SPSS 22.0 WIN program. The level of attitude on the withdrawal of life sustaining treatment was $3.20{\pm}0.35$, ethical values was $3.55{\pm}0.27$, consciousness of biomedical ethics was $2.69{\pm}0.20$. Models including the variables, ethical values(${\beta}=.52$, p<.001), major satisfaction(${\beta}=.21$, p=.001), attitude on the withdrawal of life sustaining treatment(${\beta}=-.01$ p=.031), explained 36.6% of the variance in the consciousness of biomedical ethics. Based on the outcome of this study, steps should be taken to design intervention programs that emphasize a improve consciousness of biomedical ethics for nursing students in convergence era.

Role accomplishment and job satisfaction of hospice nurse (호스피스간호사의 역할수행 정도와 직무만족도)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to provide the basic information on the improvement plan by identifying the role accomplishment and job satisfaction of the hospice nurses and analyzing the factors that impact such role accomplishment and job satisfaction. Methods: The data was collected of 189 hospice nurses who have been working more than 6 months in 56 hospice programs registered in Korea Hospice Association and Korean Catholic Hospice Association from October to November, 2007 by structured questionnaire which was developed by Ryu(1979), based on the Riehl's nursing role and the research of Choe(2005) on the role of hospice nurse. Results: The role accomplishment and job satisfaction of the study subject were 3.53 point and 3.39 point, respectively. The roles of hospice nurses were accomplished by the order of advocator, nursing care provider, coordinator (cooperation), educator, quality manager, counsellor, administrator, and researcher. The job satisfaction of the hospice nurses was shown highest in the satisfaction of professional status, followed by the satisfaction of the interaction, satisfaction of the task itself, satisfaction of the administrative aspect, satisfaction of the autonomous, and the lowest in the satisfaction of the pay. The role accomplishment of the subjects according to their socio-demographic and job characteristics was found to have a significant difference by their age, marriage status, academic background, and position. It also has a significant difference by whether they play role of coordinator, whether they took whole responsibility as hospice, working experience as hospice/palliative nurse, and the level of hospice/palliative nursing training(p<.05). In the study of job satisfaction of the subjects according to their socio-demographic and job characteristics, the job satisfaction was found to have a significant difference by the increase of age, the number of duties consisting the hospice team, whether they play role of coordinator, whether they take whole responsibility as hospice, the level of hospice/palliative nursing training, and whether they wish to work for as long as possible(p<.05). The role accomplishment and the job satisfaction of the subjects showed a statistically significant positive correlation. (r=.541, p<.01) Conclusion: Raised saiary will be increased hospice nurse's job satisfaction. And we suggest a repetitive study using the identical tool to the equally extracted subjects with same representativeness of each hospice/palliative institute type. For the expanded role and enhanced professional standard of hospice nurses, we also suggest a study on the improvement plan to enhance the roles of researcher and administrator.
