Structural and Chemical Characterization of Aquatic Humic Substances in Conventional Water Treatment Processes (재래식 정수처리 공정에서 수질계 휴믹물질의 구조 및 화학적 특성분석)

  • Humic substances(HS) from raw and process waters at a conventional water treatment plant were isolated and extracted by physicochemical fractionation methods to investigate their characteristics. They are characterized for their functionality, chemical composition, and spectroscopic characteristics using FT-IR(Fourier transform infrared) and $^1H-NMR$(proton nuclear magnetic resonance) spectroscopy. Humic fraction gradually decreased from 47.2% to 26.4%(from 0.97 to 0.54 mgC/L) through conventional water treatment processes. Concentration of phenolic groups in the HS fraction gradually decreased from 60.5% to 21.8%(from 12.2 to $6.0\;{\mu}M/L$ as phenolic-OH) through water treatment. In the case of carboxylic groups, the concentration increased from 39.5% to 46.9%(from 7.9 to $10.6\;{\mu}M/L$ as COOH) by pre-chlorination, but gradually decreased to 34.2%($9.4\;{\mu}M/L$ as COOH) through sedimentation and sand filtration. From the results of the FT-IR and $^1H-NMR$ spectra of HS, the content of carboxylic groups increased and ratio of aliphatic protons to aromatic protons($P_{Al}/P_{Ar}$) also increased through water treatment, which indicated the increase of aliphatic compounds.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze supporters' community formation motives/ Process/consumption experiences and community characteristics. For this purpose, this study collected the data using ethnographic interview. participant observation, documents and media reports. The results of this study show that supporters communities' formation and diffusion process were influenced by individual characteristics(e.g., personality, hobby and etc.), community characteristics(e.g.,team performance, star player, facilities and etc.) and external factors(ex: media movement etc.) and supporters have experienced various emotions such as intimacy. cohesion, pride and so on through various activities at on-line and off-line site. Community characteristics were classified into we-ness, rituals/traditions, moral responsibility. We found that we-ness influenced emotional dimensions such as joy, pleasure, fun and excitement. rituals and traditions made members feel passion. hope. love and vitality. and moral responsibility provided satisfaction. enthusiasm anxiety. regret and so on. Also, emotional attachment and brand loyalty were increased by these experiential aspects of community consumption.

Particle Size Control by the Addition of PVA and HNO3 in γ-Al2O3 Synthesis Using by Sol-Gel Method (졸-겔법을 이용한 γ-Al2O3 합성 시 PVA와 HNO3 첨가에 따른 입자크기 제어)

  • Alumina(Al2O3) is a ceramic material used in industry with a range of particle sizes and characteristics. In this study, a boehmite sol was prepared by a hydrolysis and peptizing process using the Sol-Gel method from aluminum isopropoxide (AIP). γ-Al2O3 was prepared by drying and calcining. To prevent particle agglomeration during the manufacturing process, four kinds of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) with molecular weights of 9,000~10,000, 31,000~50,000, 89,000~98,000, and 130,000 were added and three concentrations of HNO3 (0.1, 0.3, 0.5 molar ratio) were added to determine their effects on the particles. The crystal structure, composition, particle size and shape of the prepared γ-Al2O3 were confirmed through x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray fluorescence analyzer (XRF), particle size analyzer (PSA), and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). As a result, γ-Al2O3 with a purity of approximately 98.2% was synthesized, and the particle size decreased and the uniformity increased with increasing ratio of HNO3 addition and PVA molecular weight. From these results, the particle size can be controlled during the manufacturing process of γ-Al2O3 by controlling the addition ratio of PVA and HNO3.

The Properties of Au-Al Alloy Thin Films with a Thermal Evaporator for Purple Gold (퍼플골드를 위한 열증착법으로 제조된 Au-Al 합금 박막의 물성연구)

  • Purple Gold is the alloy consisting of 78wt%Au-22wt%Al, and is expressed as a chemical formula, $AuAl_2$. Lately it is being used for the material of accessories or the decorative ornaments, being one of the colored golds having the peculiar purple color, like White Gold and Pink Gold. Purple Gold has the weak point in shaping through casting process due to the bad malleability and castability, being the intermetalic compound of Au and Al. Therefore, it is possible to produce the final product only by the cutting and the grinding process or to use it as a decorative coat with the thin film evaporation. This study implemented two kinds of thin film experiments. One is the case that heat treatment was made after Au and Al deposition evaporated separately with a weight ratio 78:22 on the 200nm$SiO_2$/Si substrate. The other is the case that the surface deposition was made through the vacuum evaporation, keeping the glass substrate temperature remain room temperature, using the bulk $AuAl_2$ as a source. The final film property was measured, focusing on the Purple Gold's color and thickness through the bare eye inspection, the microstructure analysis, the surface resistance analysis, the color difference analysis, and XRD analysis. Purple Gold was not formed, as the excessive surface agglomeration occurred, in case of being produced and treated thermally with 12.5nmAu/40nmAl/200nm$SiO_2$/Si structure. Our results suggest that of Purple Gold films, showing the same purple color as the bulk's, were successfully deposited with the direct thermal evaporation from the $AuAl_2$ bulk source.

  • 2020 was a year in which the world spent in disorder due to the pandemic of Coronavirus infection-19(COVID-19). The pandemic was at the beginning of a turning point in history. For examples, the Black Death(Pest) that destroyed the feudal system of medieval Europe in the 14th century, smallpox that led to the destruction of the Inca Empire by Spain in the 17th century, and the Spanish flu that ended World War I early. The great transformation that will come after COVID-19 is presented from various fields and perspectives, but the understanding and direction of the transformation is ambiguous. This study attempts to derive and to analyze core terms based on a network of the future of globalization after COVID-19. Four Networks related to globalization, anti-globalization, and globalization and digitalization after COVID-19 were established respectively. A network integrating four networks was also constructed. The core terms were extracted from the hub nodes, the stress centrality, and the simplified network to which the K-core algorithm was applied. After COVID-19, the changes in globalization were analyzed from the extracted core terms. This study is thought to be meaningful to propose a method of deriving and analyzing core terms based on a network in understanding social changes after COVID-19.

The Complexity of Object-Oriented Systems by Analyzing the Class Diagram of UML (UML 클래스 다이어그램 분석에 의한 객체지향 시스템의 복잡도 연구)

  • Many researches and validations for the complexity metrics of the object-oriented systems have been studied. Most of them are aimed for the measurement of the partial aspects of the systems, for example, the coupling between objects, the complexity of inheritance structures, the cohesion of methods, and so on. But the software practitioners want to measure the complexity of overall system, not partial. We studied the complexity of the overall structures of object-oriented systems by analyzing the class diagram of UML. The class diagram is composed of classes and their relations. There are three kinds of relations, association, generalization, and aggregation, which are making the structure of object-oriented systems to be difficult to understand. We proposed a heuristic metric to measure the complexity of object-oriented systems by putting together the three kinds of the relations. Tn analyze the complexity of the structure of a object-oriented system for the maintainability of the system, we measured the degree of understandability of it, the reverse engineering time to draw a class diagram from the source codes, and the number of errors in the diagram. The results of this experiment shows that our proposed metric has a considerable relationship with the complexity of object-oriented systems. The metric will be helpful to the software developers for their designing tasks by evaluating the complexity of the structures of object-oriented systems and redesigning tasks , of them for the future maintainability.

Quality Characteristics and Dough Rheological Properties of Pan Bread with Waxy Barley Powder (찰보리 분말을 첨가한 식빵의 레올로지 및 품질특성)

  • This study investigates waxy barley powder substituted for wheat flour in bread recipes with the amounts of 0%(control), 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Waxy barley powder consisted of 8.33% of moisture content, 10.47% of crude protein, 1.63% of crude fat, and 2.97% of crude ash. Sedimentation value and pelshenke value have decreased as the waxy barley powder content increased. The farinograph measurement result of the bread made with waxy barley powder showed that consistency, water absorption, development time, stability and time breakdown have increased as the waxy barley powder content increased. The amylograph measurement result of the bread made with waxy barley powder showed that T have increased as the waxy barley powder content increased. Their P, H and P-H have decreased as the ingredient contents increased. Baking loss and specific loaf volume have decreased as the waxy barley powder content increased. The chromaticity measurement result of the bread made with waxy barley powder showed no significant difference as the waxy barley powder content increased. The texture measurement result showed that the hardness and gumminess of bread have increased as the waxy barley powder content increased. Their cohesiveness, springiness and chewiness have decreased as the ingredient contents increased. Overall preference scores showed a high acceptability for the bread made with 10% waxy barley powder.

Research Trend Analysis for Fault Detection Methods Using Machine Learning (머신러닝을 사용한 단층 탐지 기술 연구 동향 분석)

  • A fault is a geological structure that can be a migration path or a cap rock of hydrocarbon such as oil and gas, formed from source rock. The fault is one of the main targets of seismic exploration to find reservoirs in which hydrocarbon have accumulated. However, conventional fault detection methods using lateral discontinuity in seismic data such as semblance, coherence, variance, gradient magnitude and fault likelihood, have problem that professional interpreters have to invest lots of time and computational costs. Therefore, many researchers are conducting various studies to save computational costs and time for fault interpretation, and machine learning technologies attracted attention recently. Among various machine learning technologies, many researchers are conducting fault interpretation studies using the support vector machine, multi-layer perceptron, deep neural networks and convolutional neural networks algorithms. Especially, researchers use not only their own convolution networks but also proven networks in image processing to predict fault locations and fault information such as strike and dip. In this paper, by investigating and analyzing these studies, we found that the convolutional neural networks based on the U-Net from image processing is the most effective one for fault detection and interpretation. Further studies can expect better results from fault detection and interpretation using the convolutional neural networks along with transfer learning and data augmentation.

키토산 및 키토산올리고당 의생리 활성 기능

  • Chitin은 새우나 게 등을 비롯한 해산 갑각류의 가공 폐기물로 버려지는 부패, 악취발생 등의 환경공해를 일으키며 처리비용 등 여러 가지 문제를 야기하던 물질이지만 최근에는 부가가치가 높은 chitosan 및 chitooligosaccarides로 가공되기 때문에 폐기물의 자원화와 미이용 자원의 개발 등 여러 가지 측면에서 기대가 모아지고 있는 다당류이다. 더욱이 chitin의 탈아세틸화로 얻어지는 chitosan은 polycation의 성질을 가지고 있어서 현재 응집제로서 각종 공업 분야에 널리 이용되고 있으며 최근에는 그 외에도 다양한 생리적 기능성을 가지고 있다는 사실이 밝혀지면서 의료, 생호학, 화장품, 식품, 화학 공업 및 농업용 등 다양한 분야에 응용 가능한 신소재로서 기대가 높아지고 있다. 그런, chitosan은 생리적 기능은 우수하지만 물에 용해되지 않고 점도가 높으며 떫은맛이 나기 때문에 식품을 비롯한 기타 응용분야에 이용이 제한되고 있다. 따라서 많은 연구자들은 이와 같은 물리적인 장애를 개선함으로써 chitosan 자체가 갖는 우수한 생리적 기능을 이용할 뿐만 아니라 항종양성을 비롯한 새로운 생리적 기능을 갖는 chitosan 유도체의 개발을 시도하고 있다. Chitosan 유도체 중에서도 chitooligosaccharides는 chitosan의 가수분해로 얻어지는 저분자 화합물이므로 물에 잘 용해도며 점도가 낮고 용액이 단맛을 낼뿐만 아니라 chitosan이 갖지 않는 새로운 생리적 기능성을 갖는 것으로 알려지면서 관심이 집중되기 시작하였다. 본고에서는 chitosan과 chitooligosaccarides의 생리 활성 기능에 대한 지금까지의 연구결과를 소개하고자 한다.에 대한 면밀한 사안이 밝혀지는 경우가 많지 않다. 또한 그 발생 경위나 원인요소에 대해서는 일반에게 공개되지 않고 있어, 우리가 실천하여 식중독을 예방할 수 있는 정보가 함께 제시되지 못하는 형편이다. 따라서 본 고에서는 최근 수년간 외국에서 학교급식을 비롯한 집단급식 등에서 발생한 식중독 사례를 중심으로 고찰, 분석하였다. 이로부터 식중독 발생에 기여한 주요 원인을 찾아내고 여기서 얻어지는 교훈을 토대로 식중독 발생을 예방 및 최소화할 수 있는 실천적 대처 방안을 모색해 보고자 한다.중의 E. coli O157:H7이 연관되어있다는 보고도 있다. 목장 방문시 원유를 마신 어린이에서 HUS가 유발하였고, 균분리 결과, 농장의 소와 어린이에서 유사한 E. coli O157:H7이 분리된 바 있다. 본 연자들은 베로톡신 유형, plasmid profiles, RFLP 분석, phage type을 기초로하여 소에서 분리된 E. coli O157:H7이 사람유래주와 매우 유사함을 확인하였다.mm 및 2-6mm 난포에서의 101개(67.8%) 및 47개(50.0%) 보다 매우 낮게 나타났다. 전체 회수 난포란수도 4등급이 59.1%(149/252)로써 1, 2, 3등급의 0.4% (1/252), 7.6%(19/252) 및 32.9%(83/252)보다 높게 나타났다. 1회 평균 회수 난포란은 $\leq$2mm 난포에서 4.8$\pm$3.7개로써 2-6mm(3.0$\pm$3.4개) 및 $\geq$6mm (0.3$\pm$0.6개)보다 높았으며, 1회당 평균 8.1$\pm$5.1개의 난포란을 회수하였다. in

A Participatory Action Research of Social Workers on the Practice Methods for Single Parents Self-help Groups in Community Welfare Centers (지역사회복지관 한부모 자조집단 지원 실천 방안 모색을 위한 사회복지사 참여실행연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find specific practice methods of single parents self-help groups in community welfare centers. A participatory action research was conducted to achieve the purpose. Six social workers and three researchers participated in the study who shared the problem of lack of specific practice methods even though a self-help group was useful for self-reliance and empowerment of low-income single-parents. Various activities such as reading articles, analysis of each self-help group, case studies, and learning facilitation methods were conducted during 10 meetings. At the same time, peer supervision proceeded at each meeting. The progress of each group was shared, the application of practice methods and plans were discussed, and applying discussed methods to group practice and reviewing the process and outcomes of the practice were repeated in the peer supervison. As a result, the following positive changes appeared: First, the goals and vision of each group became clearer. Second, initiative of the members was promoted. Third, intimacy, mutual cooperation, the attatchment to the group were strengthened. A qualitative analysis was also conducted on the content discussed. As a result, 17 practice methods were derived in four themes such as initiative/ empowerment, cohesion, leadership, and destandardization. Practice issues concerning single parents self-help groups in community welfare centers were discussed based on the results.
