Analysis on the Changes of Urban Structure by New Town Development - Case study of Go-Yang City by GIS - (신도시 개발에 따른 도시구조 변화의 분석 - GIS를 이용한 고양시 구도심지역 변화 분석 -)

  • Go-Yang city, rural region by the 1980s, had rapidly grown to the big city for only 15 years because of Il-San new town development which was developed during $1990{\sim}1995$. So the population and industrial function were greatly increased too. The change of urban spatial structure was grasped by tracing the distribution of population, household and industries of Go-Yang city during $1990{\sim}2005$. The new urban center had grown to the center of the whole city, while the industries of existing centers were extended to the neighbor areas. The existing centers had been changed into 3 types - (1) changed into a part of new urban center, (2) declined to sub-center with small merchant facilities. (3) continuously grown with the development of whole city. As a result, a new town development had changed the urban structure by creating new functional relationships among the existing and new centers rather the existing centers had declined.

A Study on Population Change and Projection in Korea Mountainous Area (산촌지역 인구변동의 특성 분석과 장래 추계)

  • This paper analyzes the characteristics of population change and makes the population projection in the mountainous area of Korea. Mountainous areas are defined as local towns (eup or myeon) with forest area more than 70 percent of land area, population density less than 111 people per square kilometer, and plowland area less than 21 percent of land area. The population in mountainous areas has decreased dramatically, while the ageing index has increased over the past two decades. To make the population projection, the cohort-change ratios method is applied. The results revealed that a multitude of young people aged 10 to 39 moved to cities to find education and job chance and some people aged 40 and over moved to mountainous areas as the trends of urban-to-rural migration. This continuing trend will culminate in 680 thousand people in population and 1,035 of ageing index in 2030, which will lead to the unequal land development and inefficient forest management. Thus, policy makers need to develop stimulus plans to revitalize and stabilize the economy of mountainous areas.

Regional Classification and Analysis of the Characteristics Suburban Rural Areas in the Capital Region for Promoting Area-specific Policies (지역맞춤형 정책 수립을 위한 수도권 근교농촌의 유형화 및 특성 분석)

  • Suburbs rural areas in the Capital region have been diversified by the influence of the Seoul and large cities for the last 10 years. This study aims to classify suburban rural areas and to analyze the differentiated characteristics of different types in order to propose more area-specific policy approach to suburban rural areas in the Capital region. Using the cluster analysis method, the suburban rural areas in the Capital region have been classified into four types; garden villages in rural areas, urbanization areas, agricultural-industrial mixed use areas, general rural areas. The result of this study shows that the four types of suburban rural areas are much differentiated one another in terms of internal characteristics and local dynamics and problems. In order to suburban rural sustainable development in the Capital region, the policy efforts should be address the area-specific problems and policy demand for each type of suburban rural areas.

Comparative research on urban image assets of Iksan by analysing bigdata (빅데이터 분석을 통한 익산의 도시 이미지 자산 비교 연구)

  • Iksan is one of medium city in Jellabukdo, South Korea. It has a favorable natural environment for the specialization potential of natural industries and development projects. In addition, it has various historical and cultural resources including Mireuksajji, and KTX Honam line which has been opened for a representative feature as transport city. However, it faces week connection with neighboring cities and large scale of development in neighboring areas, especially in Jeonju and Gunsan. In this paper, we try to classify the urban image assets of Iksan as 'Iksan Station' and 'ktx' on keywords and analyze the possibility of being a center of transportation and logistics through big data analysis extracted from SNS and website. In comparison with Gwangju Songjeong, KTX Honam line station, which has been developed with similar regional characteristics, it is aimed to establish the basis of improvement and establishment of urban image of Iksan city in the future.

  • The large planar failure has occurred in a rock cut slope of highway construction site in Boeun. This area is considered to be unstable since the discontinuity, whose orientation is similar to the orientation of the failure plane, is observed in many areas. Therefore, several analysis techniques such as SMR, stereographic analysis, limit equilibrium, numerical analysis, which are commonly used in rock slope stability analysis, are adopted in this area. In order to analyze the stress redistribution and nonlinear displacement caused by cut, which are not able to be obtained in limit equilibrium method, DEM and shear strength reduction technique were used in this study. Then the factors of safety evaluated by shear strength reduction technique and limit equilibrium were compared. In addition, the factor of safety under fully saturated slope condition was calculated and subsequently, the effect of the reinforcement was evaluated.

Herpetofauna Biodiversity of Chin-Do (진도 양서ㆍ파충류 생물다양성)

  • Herpetofauna biodiversity was surveyed at the Chin-do. The results are as follows: During census periods presence of 2 orders, 4 families, 6 species of amphibians and 1 order, 2 suborders, 4 families, 8 species of reptiles were observed or found indirectly by auditorial recording from residents at the Chin-do. Among them 1 protected wildlife(Agkistrodon saxatilis) and several rare species such as Takydromus wolteri, Sciucella laterale laterale and Zamenis spinalis were indentified. Rana nigromaculata and Rana catesbeiana were found in all surveyed areas. Dominant amphibian species was Rana rugosa (D'= 25.8%) and reptile was Takydromus wolteri (D'= 21.8%). Among 4 areas survey area, Uisin-myon showed the highest level of species richness, diversity, and evenness indices (R'= 2.393, H'= 1.931, and E'= 0.7772, respectively). The species richness of Kunnae-myon was lower (R'= 0.932) than other surveyed regions. Based on the frequency of occurrence (85.71%), habitation density of Rana catesbeiana was very common in Chin-do, suggesting that spreading of this foreign species in the entire Korean peninsula. Scincella laterale laterale, Elaphe dione, Elaphe rufodorsata, Dinodon rufozonatus rufozonatus, Rhabdophis tigrinus tigrinus, Agkistrodon ussuriensis, and Zamenis spinalis showed low frequency of occurrence ( < 10%) and efforts to protect them are required. Comparison of Fruit Quality of Apple 'Fuji' Produced in Different Three Areas in Taegu (대구시(大邱市) 인근 3지역(地域) 사과 '후지'의 과실품질(果實品質) 비교(比較))

  • This investigation was attemped to know fruit quality of apple 'Fuji' grown at three different areas of Taegu. Fruits were gathered from hill side area : Kyungsangpookdo yongchongun chongtongmynn synwonri, flat area : Kyungsangpookdo yongchongun synyoungmyun youujeongri and river side area : Kyungsangpookdo yongchongun kewmhoyeub naenhchundong. Results were as follows: 1. In fruit sampling, we made an effort to select the same size of fruit from all areas, However, the size at river side area was about 40g lighter and minimum length was shorter than those of the other areas. On the other hand, maximum and minimum diameter of the fruit at flat and river side areas were longer than hill side area. Accordingly, shape index of the fruit in river side area was flatter than the other areas. This difference may be due to temperture, soil moisture content, etc. In squeeze rate of the fruit, no significant difference was recognized among areas. 2. Though, rate of fructose in total sugar was almost 50% in all areas, sucrose, fructose and sorbitol concentration of hill side area were higher than the other areas. however glucose was reverse amd brix was almost same as total sugar concentration. 3. Rate of malic acid in total acid was almost 98% and citric acid was only 2% in all areas. Malic acid concentration of hill side area was higher than the other areas and titratable acid concentration was almost same as total acid.

A Study on Elderly People in Health Inequality in Vulnerable Health Areas Centering around Agriculture and Fisheries Areas (농어촌 건강취약지역 노인의 건강불평등 관련요인 연구)

  • It is a qualitative study based on a focus group with an aim to figure out elderly people's experiences in health inequality in vulnerable health zones in agriculture and fisheries areas. Of eups, myeons and dongs selected as 40 vulnerable areas where standardized death rates had continued to be high from 2004 to 2007 in 20 counties and cities in Gyeongsang-do, 15 agriculture and fisheries areas were randomly chosen to extract 8 to 10 elderly people. Explanations were given to study subjects, and 7 to 8 people who agreed to take part in the study joined a regional focus group. Contents of interviews were analyzed with a phenomenological method by Colaizzi (1978) in order to accurately describe pertinent phenomena. The study has found four categories including ecological environmental problems, insufficient services for local community & harmful environmental problems, worsening economic conditions and insufficient health care management in terms of health behavior.

전라남도 풍력테스트베드 및 해상풍력산업

  • 현재 인류가 직면한 에너지 부문의 큰 난제는 화석연료의 한정된 매장이기도 하지만 그 사용에 따른 환경오염으로 인한 피해들이 더 큰 문제로 대두되고 있다. 그중 지구 온난화의 영향으로 최근 세계에 국지적인 홍수, 가뭄, 태풍등의 기후 불안정으로 피해보는 상황이 가속화 되고 있다. 또한, 북극지방의 해빙으로 해수면 상승이 예상되며 머지않은 시간에 해수면 상승의 직접적인 피해가 인류에게 오리라는 보고가 많이 발표되고 있다. 그런데 우리가 더욱 중요한 것은 지구촌83의 관성이 크기 때문에 지구 온난화 와 해수면 상승이 인류에 큰 피해를 미치기 시작할 때는 이미 돌이킬 수 없는 상황에 진입해버린다는 사실을 간과하고 있는다는 것이다. 그러므로 과학적 분석에 근거하여 피해를 축소하기위한 활동을 실천해야할 시기이다. 특히, 우리나라의 경우 에너지의 97% 이상을 해외에서 수입하고 있으며, 세계에너지 소비 10위, 석유 소비 7위의 열악한 에너지 자원 빈국인 만큼, 중장기적인 관점에서 석유의존도를 개선하고 신재생에너지원을 확보하는 등 대책마련이 시급한 실정이다. 신재생에너지원으로 현재까지 가장 큰 역할을 해왔던 것 중의 하나가 풍력발전기인데, 오늘날 세계 풍력에 의한 발전량은 세계 총 발전량의 2% 미만에 불과하이다. 이러한 풍력 시장에 발맞춰 국내에서도 풍력발전기 개발에 많은 힘을 쏟고 있는데, 2002년부터 750 kW급 풍력발전기가 처음 개발되기 시작하였고, 이후 2 MW급 풍력발전기와 3 MW급 풍력발전기가 개발되었으며, 최근에는 5 MW와 7.5 MW급등 초대형 풍력발전기가 대기업 중심으로 개발 진행되고 있었으나, 2008년 세계 금융위기 이후 세계 경기침체의 영향으로 국내 풍력산업도 적지않은 영향으로 구조조정되어 기존 7~8개 풍력발전기 제조사들이 3개사 이하로 축소되고 있다. 이에 정부 및 전라남도는 해상풍력산업을 침체기를 겪는 조선산업의 대체산업으로 육성하기위해, 정부 주도로 부안 앞바다에 2.5 GW 해상풍력발전단지개발을 준비 중에 있으며, 전라남도는 전남 서해안에 4 GW 해상풍력발전단지 개발을 서두드고 있다. 특히, 전라남도는 국내에서 가장 많은 풍력에너지 포텐셜을 가지고 있으며, 바람의 질 또한 우수하여 이를 지역산업 활성화의 모멘텀으로 가져가기위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 그 일례로 영광군 백수읍 하사리 바닷가 $4,342m^2$ 부지에 "풍력테스트베드"를 개발하여 국내 풍력발전기 제조사들이 활용하도록 도움을 주고 있다. 종래의 테스트베드는 해외지역을 이용하였는데, 이는 국내에서 개발된 풍력발전기들이 국제인증을 받기위해 바람의 질이 좋은 해외 테스트베드에 설치되어 평가받았으며 고가의 비용이 소모되었다. 제주도에 테스트베드 장소가 있긴 하지만 수용 규모가 작아 풍력발전기 제조사들이 대기할 수 없어 해외로 나가는 실정에 전라남도의 내륙 테스트베드를 개발함으로서 풍력발전기 제조사들에게 큰 도움을 주고 있다. 본 보고에서는 국가 해상풍력 산업발전의 단계별 전략과 전라남도의 해상풍력산업의 방향 그리고 풍력테스트베드의 현황을 소개하고자 한다.

Frequent Forest Fire in Kosong-Gun, Kangwon Province (고성지방의 산불발생)

  • In this paper, the writer attempts to clarify causes by general man and weather factor on forest fire occurrence in Kosong-Area, 1995-2001. The major results are summarized as follows: The forest fire at Kojin-ri, Sonyusil-ri and Majwa-ri occurred at the same area over 3 times and that Hakya-ri, Songdae-ri and Inhung-ri, at the adjoining land over 3times. In the total 46 times of forest fire, fire frequence was greatest in March(11 time) and April(11 time) followed by November(7 time), January(6 time), February(6 time). December(3 time), October(2 time). Hours on frequent forest fire are from 11:00 till 18:00. Number for forest fire occurrence by causes was greatest in military training followed by burning paddy fields, debris burning, burning agricultural debris, visiting a grave, cigarette and arson. Frequent forest fire in Kosong-Area coincide not only with above normal temperatures, but also with below normal relative humidity. When the strong winds appear at Kosong-Area, the properties of daily surface chart re the south high and north low pressure pattern in the Far East Asia.
