The purpose of this study is improving the teachers' self-efficacy for pre-secondary music teachers. The research questions for this study were the improvement for teachers' self-efficacy for pre-secondary music teachers and the pre-secondary music teachers' perception about peer mentoring. In this study performed the interview and analyzed the in self-reflection journal in order to identify the improvement effect of teachers' self-efficacy and the participants' perception change in the peer mentoring. As the results from analyzing the change in participant's perception about peer mentoring the mentors had the opportunity to review previous learning contents and practice experiences while developing their team activity and for the mentees. Mentees said that they were given various help from the mentors' advices and their interactions and communication with mentors. From these results, it could identify that there was positive change in participant's perception about the peer mentoring. Based on these results, this study analyzed that it would need to require some chances for pre-secondary music teachers to be given some educational practice and field experience utilizing various teaching methods in order to improve their self-efficacy and the perception of peer mentoring.

Concept mapping was used to analyze the knowledge of kindergarten teachers about early childhood music instructional content. Data obtained from the 85 subjects was analyzed by Yun's method(1998) based on Novak & Gowin(1984), Morine-Dershimer(1993), and Markhan, Mintzes & Jones(1994). The majority of the teachers perceived the superordinate concepts of early childhood music instructional content to be listening to music, singing, movement, and playing musical instruments. They perceived early childhood music instructional content to be activity rather then knowledge. Listening to music was high in frequency among superordinate concepts and musical attitudes were high among subordinate concepts. Teachers used 285 words in expressing their cognitive maps. There was no effect on cognitive maps by teaching career or level of education.

The domestic Gifted education is evaluated to attain many achievements and to reach stable circle in short term. What about the present situation of artistic talent education which is one of the talent education areas, especially music talent education? The result of domestic Gifted education can be comprehensively understood by actually searching the present situation of diverse Gifted education areas. In this sense, this research aims to search the overall situation of domestic music talent education and to draw the tasks to be improved later mainly on the basis of important matters for efficient operation of music talent education. Thus far, many researches have been made mainly through quantitative statistical data or survey materials in the form of questionnaire. Meanwhile, this research tries to deeply understand the problems that have been superficially managed so far by collecting the voice of diverse practical staffs related to music talent education for comprehensive analysis and investigation. This research is meaningful in that it establishes the direction of more effective music talent education in the future by lessening the gap between policy and reality, intent and result, etc through diverse comprehension of actual situation and position related to music talent education and provides the basic materials based on reality to cultivate teacher and administrator and to develop curriculum.

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate the music program based on social-emotional learning (SEL) to facilitate social inclusion between children with and without disabilities studying together in inclusive classes. For program development, the literature on social inclusion programs and SEL programs were analyzed. Program components were extracted from the literature review and based on the review activities were also selected. The participants were fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students, including children with intellectual disabilities, and the program was implemented over 12 sessions during the students' creative experiential activity class. The validity of the program was evaluated by teachers and the specified program contents were modified and finalized reflecting the professionals' recommendations. This study supports that SEL-based music program can be effectively applied to inclusive education. The developed music program is also expected to improve the social and emotional capacity of children in inclusive classrooms and to increase the social inclusion between children with and without disabilities.

The purpose of the study was to examine the repertoires of children's songs that early childhood teachers used for new-song-learning activities and to analyze the characteristics of frequently used songs. 120 early childhood teachers in South Korea were recruited to gather the repertoires of children's songs during January and February, 2021. And then, 20 most frequently used songs were selected and analyzed in genre, theme, tonality, meter, musical form, and tone range. SPSS ver. 25.0 was used to calculate the means, standard deviations, frequencies, and percentages. As results, the most frequently used five songs were 'Autumn Road,' 'Winter Wind,' 'Scarecrow Man,' 'Watermelon Party,' and 'Cosmos.' The results of analyses of 20 frequently used songs revealed that the creative songs as genre, seasons as theme, C major as tonality, 4/4 as meter, and ternary form as musical form, and c' - c" along with c' - d" as tone range were the mostly used.

The objective of this paper is to verify the usefulness and validity of ICT-based elementary education for musical composition using multimedia technology. Cearing with the characteristic of musical education, multimedia technology, which has made dazzling progress thanks to the rapid development of computer for the last several year, is expected to be a new alternative to overcome various problems of musical education and enhance students` musical function and knowledge. In particular, if ICT-based musical education is introduced in teaching musical composition, in which many elementary school techers feel difficulties, significant education effects will be produced. ICT-based musical education method in the paper identified imitation and problems in traditional theory-based learning and musical composition class using musical instruments and, as a part of resolving the limitations and problems, instructed elementary students in how to use a computer program and applied the program to musical composition class. As a result, the method maximized learning effect and improved stusents` ability to create melodies in a short term compared to traditional teaching methods.

Many young people, who are most affected by TV audition programs and the K-pop craze, have begun to choose careers in music. They attended music classes through academies or took private lessons, and then went on to a college's practical-music department. As the number of applicants increased, competition for university practical-music programs increased abnormally. As a result, many students then started learning music at an early age through private educational institutions and academies. Afterwards, as high schools related to practical music began to appear, the number of students entering practical-music high school and technical schools increased. However, a big problem in practical-music high schools was difficulty in finding professional teachers who majored in music. This arose because it was difficult for someone with a practical-music major to acquire a full-time teaching certificate. There are many ways to obtain a teacher's license, but the only option for practical-music majors is to graduate from the Graduate School of Education. However, since the Graduate School of Education is limited to classical and traditional music, admission itself is difficult. Even if someone is accepted by the school, most of the courses consist of classical music and traditional music education, which is very difficult for someone who majored in practical music. Therefore, in this thesis, we study the current situation in practical-music high schools, looking at why a regular Level 2 teaching certificate is needed and how to obtain one.

According to a 2006 paper by a music therapist and a music therapist in elementary schools, the demand for special education increased, and a 2018 music education study showed that music rooms and equipment increased, but it was difficult to move or lacked various instruments. In this work, we develop a module that combines hardware and software for social improvement education in autistic children using tools. Various instrument sounds can be set using piezo sensors and Arduino, so you can experience various instruments through simple operation and there are instruments designed for music therapy through modularity. Hopefully, the study will help disabled children heal their music.

Teachers' cognitive understanding of subject matter content have direct impact on the quality of students learning. In order to understand this, we need to investigate the relationships between the teachers' level of knowledge about the content and the instruction teacher provide for students. Professional development programs for computer education teachers include courses in computer science, curriculum studies, and the application of computers in the classroom. Effective teachers, however, have expertise in the subject matter content, know curriculum, and understand contextual knowledge for teaching computers in the classrooms. Although computer education have evolved for last 20 years, we have not yet made significant progress on researching "what" is the professional knowledge of computer teachers, and "how" they could be trained. Teacher's knowledge includes pedagogical and contextual knowledge of teaching the specific subject. The purpose of this paper is to understand the professional knowledge of computer teachers, and the adoption of PCK (pedagogical content knowledge). As a result of this paper, I hope to initiate further discussions and researches on PCK and its' implication for computer teachers and teacher preparation programs in Korea.

This study used path analysis to investigate the effect of home environment and teacher variables on children's musical ability and attitudes. Participants were 235 children, their parents and 13 teachers of kindergartens located in G city in Gyeongbuk Province. Instruments were the Primary Measurement of Music Audiation(Gordon, 1986), the Music Teaching Efficacy Instrument(Riggs & Enochs, 1990), and questionnaires about children's musical attitudes, home environment and music activities. Results showed that teacher variables affected children's musical ability directly and indirectly and children's attitude affected their musical ability directly. Psychological and physical variables of the home environment affected children's musical ability and attitudes positively.
