Nominalization is one of the grammatical metaphors that makes it easier to mathematize the target that needs to be converted into a formula, but it has the disadvantage of making problem understanding difficult due to complex and compressed sentence structures. To investigate how this nominalization affects students' problem-solving processes, an analysis was conducted on 233 third-grade elementary school students' problem solving of eight arithmetic word problems with or without nominalization. The analysis showed that the presence or absence of nominalization did not have a significant impact on their problem understanding and their ability to convert sentences to formulas. Although the students did not have any prior experience in nominalization, they restructured the sentences by using nominalization or agnation in the problem understanding stage. When the types of nominalization change, the rate of setting the formula correctly appeared high. Through this, the use of nominalization can be a pedagogical strategy for solving word problems and can be expected to help facilitate deeper understanding.

This study is an instrumental case study based on a theoretical proposition on animal phobia as a single case, Six categories were derived for the purpose of psychological analysis of the father of a female research participant suffering from the earthworm phobia. They are 'a fearful existence', 'problems with the woman who is always by her father's side', 'secret adultery and shock', 'fear of punishment', 'symbol for earthworm and fear displacement', and 'earthworm phobia'. Anxiety about punishment from a fearful father was the cause of the phobia. For the study participant, the earthworm phobia was the displacement of her father's fear of earthworm, and the earthworm phobia was interpreted as a substitute for her father. In other words, earthworm phobia should be understood as an escape and defense process as it replaces the re-emergence of long-repressed fearful feeling toward her father, and its symbolism can be seen as a metaphorical transformation of the pathological family atmosphere.

This research has studied the building awareness of Nu-Jeong that a view of nature and aesthetic consciousness to unite the nature are inherent by considering Nu-Jeong of scholars who left fame and wealth behind and retired to hermitage in the backwoods in the 16~18 Century. This is to clarify correlation with leaving nature as it is, namely, an ideal state that scholars at the time would enjoy, through landscape awareness accepted into Nu-Jeong literature. In addition, this research has tracked the ideologic flow that acts on space formation by clarifying Korean unique meanings inherent to Nu-Jeong's cultural landscape. As a suggestion for this, the interpretation through 'Pungsu location Nu-Jeong name's analysis Nu-Jeong literature analysis', etc. was tried, so its integrated conclusion is as follows. It is not a chance that scholars of Joseon have left numerous literature works singing the nature. They already had huge interest and knowledge on the nature, and achieved active poetic exchange by sublimating the praise of nature as literature. Nu-Jeong, which was a place of exchange like this, had cleanliness of the nature and ideological purity as an oppositional space on turbid political realities. The Nu-Jeong literature drew the nature into a literature space as it is, without doing abstraction or ideation on the nature. The owner of Nu-Jeong exclusively possessed such natural landscape in grim and independent postures, so it provided a clue of Nu-Jeong cultural landscape that this research aimed to discuss. Scholars who aimed to raise wide and large vigor filled in between the sky and earth got to convince that people are born from the nature, grow in the nature and finally return to the nature. What people are born from the nature and finally return to the nature is just consistent with Taoistic and Zhua-ngzi thoughts denying human work, and leaving nature as it is or nature itself remained intact which is an ideal state. The construction at the time is a vessel containing the spirit of the times of the era. This thesis has proved that the Nu-Jeong culture of scholars located on the central line of Korean landscape was the flower of Joseon's scholar culture by interpreting it semantically.

As one of the image symbols, the second frame has rich symbolic metaphor. In previous studies, second frames are mostly presented in physical forms such as doors, windows, but in <The Power of the Dog>, there are various forms of second frames, providing more types for the study of second frames. Panofsky's Iconology has put forward a rigorous research method on how to interpret the meaning of image symbols in the picture. This study aims to use Panofsky's Iconology to analyze the second frame in <the Power of the dog>. The purpose is to expand the methodology of film image research and break through the problem that the Iconology analysis of film image stays in narrative analysis (iconographical analysis). It can be seen from the results of this study that the second frame has different visual presentation according to the requirements of narrative. In the narrative of the film, it symbolizes the depressed tone of the film and the stressful relationship between different characters. What director Campion wants to show through the second frame is that in the film industry where the problem of women is getting better, the motif of feminist film creation has changed from the expression of female appeals in binary opposition to the expression of the appeals of diverse groups in "decentralization."

The purpose of this study was to investigate early childhood pre service teachers' perception on the meanings of free play and the roles of teachers in charge of free play hours. For this purpose, this study analyzed reflective journals, metaphorizing, image drawings, and interview records made by 69 junior students majoring in Early Childhood Education and participating in the practice of child care. According to the results, the meanings of free play perceived by the early childhood pre service teachers were summarized into 'an exciting festival,' 'a fenced playground,' and 'a journey for learning.' In addition, their perceptions on the roles of teachers in charge of free play hours were summarized into 'accompanying teacher,' 'leading teacher,' 'correcting teacher,' and 'encouraging teacher.' These results suggest the need of systematic education through pre service curriculums that help early childhood pre service teachers form a balanced view and perception on the meaning of free play and the teachers' role performance.

In this study, solid solution heat treatment of consolidated nickel-based superalloy powders is carried out by hot isotactic pressing. The effects of the cooling rate of salt quenching, and air cooling on the microstructures and the mechanical properties of the specimens are analyzed. The specimen that is air cooled shows the formation of serrated grain boundaries due to their obstruction by the carbide particles. Moreover, the specimen that is salt quenched shows higher strength than the one that is air cooled due to the presence of fine and close-packed tertiary gamma prime phase. The tensile elongation at high temperatures improves due to the presence of grain boundary serrations in the specimen that is air cooled. On the contrary, the specimen that is salt quenched and consists of unserrated grain boundaries shows better creep properties than the air cooled specimen with the serrated grain boundaries, due to the negative creep phenomenon.

The color is silent language. As the cinematography modeling of art color of film of one of element even is that a synthetical special language systematic.The color of film is very symbolic. The symbolism of color is to express in metaphor some sort of rationality and concept with some color. Now a lot of directors are obsessed with the use of color to express the symbolic meaning. Gradually, the color goes beyond the form of natural material and ascends in appearance to a kind of significant and meaningful modeling element. Thus the color's symbolic meaning has become an essential element in the color and function of the film. The paper analyzes the applications of color in films by use of the well-known director Zhang Yimou's film such as "Hero" and Michelangelo Antonioni's film "Red desert"; and then makes"Hero" with the "Red desert" in order to explain different applications and expressing practices of colors in the film and reflect the significance of color as a unique expressing language in the film.

This study is an architectural design thesis aimed at designing a building at the River Thames in London, which could float along the river and be anchored in the river, in terms of the concept of the sense of place. The process of the study was as follows. First, theoretical backgrounds of the concepts of sense of place, placelessness, and non-place were examined and the sense of place of River Thames was analyzed. Second, the architectural planning elements could be applied to architectural design in terms of the relationship between the place and architecture, form of architecture, and behaviors of peoples. Third, the architectural design concepts and programs were specified based on the planning elements and a cultural complex that floats on the River Thames in London, England was proposed. The focus of this study was the process of formation of a sense of place by the cognition of architecture and people's activity, and this study claimed that the sense of place could be materialized by the metaphorically inherent property of the architecture.
