Characterization of $SnO_2-P_2O_5$-RO with compositions changes of RO on Glass ($SnO_2-P_2O_5$-RO계 유리에서 RO 변화에 따른 특성)

  • 기존에 전자부품들에 사용되어 온 봉착용, 결합용, 코팅용 유리들은 타유리와 비교하여 낮은 융점을 가지고 있으면서도 열처리 전후에 물리, 화학적으로 매우 안정한 특성을 가지고 있는 PbO를 50~85% 이상 함유한 유리들이 대부분을 차지해왔다. 그러나 PbO 성분은 산성비 등의 산에 용해되어 Pb이온이 생성되면서 환경오염의 원인이 되기 때문에 유해성분으로 규정하고 있다. 최근 유해물질의 규제가 강화됨에 따라 PbO를 대체할 수 있는 $B_2O_3,\;Bi_2O_3,\;V_2O_5,\;P_2O_5$ 등의 새로운 조성의 유리에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 봉착용으로 사용되는 인산계 유리에서 RO계 첨가에 따른 TMA와 고온현미경, 필테스트를 통하여 접합성 및 열적특성 등의 변화에 대하여 조사하였다.

  • 하수처리수의 농업용수 재이용 사업은 물 재이용 기본계획의 일환으로 수행되고 있다. 재이용방식은 직접재이용과 간접재이용으로 구분할 수 있으며 2020년까지 56개 하수처리시설에서 총 106,388 천$m^3$/년의 농업용수를 직접재이용할 계획이다. 하지만 대부분의 경우 간접재이용의 형식으로 하수처리수를 농업용수로 이용하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 하수처리수의 농업용수 간접재이용에 따른 작물생육, 수질, 그리고 토양환경에 미치는 영향을 평가하는데 있다. 본 연구를 위해 수원시 환경사업소와 오산시 환경사업소 하류 지역을 간접재이용 사례지구로 선정하고, 용인 이동저수지를 관개용수로 하는 청정지역을 대비구로 선정하였다. 각 지구별로 수량 구성요소 및 수확량 특성, 그리고 벼의 영양염류 및 중금속 함량 등의 유해성분을 분석하였으며, 관개수질과 논토양의 성분을 모니터링 하였다. 모니터링 결과를 통해 간접재이용 사례지구의 환경영향을 평가하여 수질기준을 정립하고 간접재이용시스템을 개발하는데 있어 기초적인 자료를 제공할 것이라 사료된다.

  • Concrete is a type of porous materials and is physically and chemically damaged due to exposure to various environments from the placing to the service life. These reactions affect the corrosionof steel bars applied in concrete and that decreases the durability life and strength of such steel bars. Thus, it is very important to insert rust inhibitors into steel bars in the case of a deterioration element that exceeds the critical amount of corrosion in the location of steel bars. However, it is very difficult to guarantee corrosion resistance at the location of steel bars using conventional technology that applies corrosion inhibitors only on the surface of concrete. This study attempts to develop a method that penetrates corrosion inhibitors up to the location of steel bars and investigate the penetration depth of corrosion inhibitors by verifying moisture migration in concrete under an applied pressure.

Effect of p-Phenylenediamine to Rat Skin (p-Phenylenediamine이 흰쥐의 피부 조직에 미치는 영향)

  • Red brownish p-pheylenediamine (PPD) has been widely used hair dye for women. The dye was known to cause systemic anaphylaxis, dermatitis and bladder cancer. But the effect of PPD toxicity with oxygen free radical has not been studied. This study investigated the degree of skin injury by PPD. PPD ($2.5\%$ PPD in $2\%\;NH_{4}OH$) was applied to the rat skin ($25 mg/16.5\;cm^2$) 3 or 5 times every other day. Histopathological findings demonstrated the proliferation of epithelial cells and the increased keratinization by PPD. The activities of glucose 6-phosphatase (G6Pase) was decreased and acid phosphatase (ACP) was increased in PPD-applied rat skin. Groups in which PPD was applied 5 times were more damaged than groups applied 3 times. To examine the relationship between tissue damage and oxygen free radicals, effect of PPD on xanthine oxidase (XO) activity was measured and XO activity was more significantly increased in the group treated with PPD 5 times than 3 times. However, reduced glutathione (GSH) content, and the activities of catalase (CAT), super-oxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione S -transferase (GST) were more decreased in PPD-applied groups than in controls. Even though the activities of XOD was not changed in the group treated with PPD 3 times, the decreased activities of oxygen free radical system and the damaged skin tissue were observed. This result might be caused by the production of toxic PPD metabolites in rat skin. In conclusion, topical PPD application led to skin injury in a dose-dependent manner, probably due to the generation rate of oxygen free radical.

Trend Analysis of Hazard Substances in/on Agricultural Products Reported by Press (언론에 보도된 농산물 중 유해물질 동향 분석)

  • In order to establish the guidance of management and safe use hazard substance, trend analysis of hazard substance in/on agricultural products reported by press for 5 years (2005-2009) was performed. Data for the analysis collected from the articles about hazard substances from web portals, newspapers and so on. The mostly detected harmful factors in/on agricultural products were pesticides residue and heavy metals by the reports by press for last 5 years. The number of detected pesticides was slightly increased from 14 to 34 through the passage of time but the number of cases reported by press was not increased. On the other hand, the number of accidents and reports related to heavy metals were highly increased from 3 to 13 and 42 to 112, respectively. 65 pesticides including chlorpyrifos were detected in domestic agricultural products for the 5 years. Frequently detected pesticides were chlorpyrifos, endosulfan, carbendazim, azoxystrobin, and procymidone. Pesticide residues were repeatedly detected on green vegetables such as a green perilla leaf, a lettuce, a leek, and spinach among crops.

  • To help understanding about hazard chemicals occurring newly in food, it has been reviewed characteristics, mechanism, food standards and analytical trend of the hazard chemicals occurring avoidably in food manufacturing process. The new hazard chemicals in food are classified by 4 regarding mechanism such as heat, fermentation, additives and unknowns. The new hazard chemicals by heat process are acrylamide, furan, HCAs and PAHs. By the fermentation, ethylcarbamate and biogenic amines are occurred. According to food additives, 3-MCPD, benzene and nitrosamines can be produced. And the last group is the illegal compounds including anti-impotence drug analogues and anti-obesity drug analogues. To analyze the new hazard chemicals in food, GC or LC with UVD, FLD or MSD are used mainly after sample pretreatment by LLE, SPE or headspace method.

  • As a basic research for development of the domestic field-portable XRF spectrometer, we discussed the analytical results of bench-top ED-XRF and field-portable XRF method for polluted heavy metals such as Cr, As, Se, Hg, Pb, Cd in soil samples. To obtain the best performance of the XRF spectrometer, the instrumental parameters of X-ray tube-voltage and measurement time were optimized for 6 heavy-metal elements in soil using certified reference material. The quantitative analysis of Cr, As, Se, Hg, Pb, Cd concentration in certified reference materials and soil samples were compared by empirical method and fundamental parameter method.

Absorption of Heavy Metals of Waste Leachate Using by Fast Growing Trees(II) (속성수를 이용한 쓰레기 매립지 침출수의 오염물질 흡수제거(II))

  • To identify the rapacity of waste leachate absorption in Populus euramericana and Betula platyphylla var, japonica, four different treatments were applied to seedlings: leachate solution (100% leachate), 50% dilution (50% leachate: 50% water, v/v) and 25% dilution, (25% leachate: 75% water, v/v) were applied to these two species. After the experiment, concentrations of heavy metals in tree parts were analyzed by an Inductively Coupled Plasma emission spectrometer (ICP). treatment with waste leachate significantly stimulated both Populus euramericana and Betula platyphylla var. japonica biomass production relative to the water control. In addition, these species showed good absorption capacity of As, Co, Hg and Ni elements. The results of this study suggested that these two species can absorb the toxic materials through their roots and transport them to stems or leaves.

  • 최근 서울의 일부 지역에서는 오존 주의보에 의한 대기 오염의 수치가 발표되고 있어 이의 심각성이 대두되고 있다. 대기오염의 주범은 자동차이며, 자동차에서 주로 많이 배출되는 질소산화물(NOx)과 탄화수소(HC) 및 디젤자동차에서의 입자상 물질(PM: Particulate Matter)등이 대기환경에 미치는 영향이 크므로 이러한 물질의 저감에 대한 요구가 점차 강화되어가고 있다. 특히, 디젤 엔진이 가솔린 엔진에 비해 대기오염의 주원인이라는 편견이 일반적으로 널리 알려져 있지만, 이는 눈에 보이는 Black smoke에 대한 거부반응이 있다는 점이다. 실제로 디젤 엔진의 유해 배출 성분 중에서 NOx는 가솔린과 비슷한 수준이나 HC와 CO성분은 상당히 적게 배출되고 있다. 또한, 디젤 엔진은 연료 경제성 및 지구 온난화의 원인인 CO$_{2}$ 배출이 적다는 장점이 있으므로 디젤 엔진에서 많이 배출되는 성분으로서 입자상 물질(PM) 및 NOx를 줄이는 방안이 요구되고 있다. 이를 저감시키는 방법은 여러가지가 있으나 분사계 측면에서 전자제어식 고압 연료 분사가 요구되고 있으며 이의 개발 필요성에 대해서 논하기로 한다.
