In this paper, We design RS(255,239) decoder with modified Euclidean algorithm, which show polynomic coefficient state machine instead of calculating coefficients of modified Euclidean algorithm. This design can reduce complexity and implement High-speed Read Solomon decoder. Additionally, we have synthesized with Xilinx XC4VLX60. From synthesis, it can operate at clock frequency of 77.4MHz, and gate count is 20,710.

In this paper, we developed a hardware architecture of Reed-Solomon RS(255,239) decoder for the DMB mobile terminals. The DMB provides multimedia broadcasting service to mobile terminals, hence it should have small dimension for low power and short decoding delay for real-time processing. We modified Euclid algorithm to apply it to the key equation solving which is the most complicated part of the RS decoding. We also designed a small finite field divider to avoid the use of large Inverse-ROM table, and it consumed 17 clocks. After synthesis with Synopsis on Samsung STD130 $0.18{\mu}m$ Standard Cell library, the Euclid block had 30,228 gates and consumed 288 clocks, which gave the 25% reduced area compared to other existing designs. The size of the entire RS decoder was about 45,000 gates.

In this paper, we consider the two computer intensive methods for extended Euclidean algdrithm. Two methods we propose are C-programming based approach and Microsoft excel based method, respectively. Thses methods are applied to the derivation of greatest commnon devisor, multiplicative inverse for modular operation and the solution of diophantine equation. Concrete investigation for extended Euclidean algorithm with the computer intensive process is given. For the application of extended Euclidean algorithm, we consider the RSA encrytion method which is still popular recently.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the extendibility of division algorithm and Euclid algorithm for integers to algorithms for rational numbers based on word problems of fraction division. This study serviced to upgrade professional development of elementary and secondary mathematics teachers. In this paper, fractions were used as expressions of rational numbers, and they also represent rational numbers. According to discrete context and continuous context, and measurement division and partition division etc, divisibility was classified into two types; one is an abstract algebraic point of view and the other is a generalizing view which preserves division algorithms for integers. In the second view, we raised some contextual problems that can be used in school mathematics and then we discussed division algorithm, the greatest common divisor and the least common multiple, and Euclid algorithm for fractions.

The error control of digital transmission system is a very important subject because of the noise effects, which is very sensitive to transmission performance of the digital communication system It employs a modified Euclid's algorithm to compute the error-location polynomial and error-magnitude polynomial of input data. The circuit size is reduced by selecting the Modified Euclid's Algorithm with one Euclid Cell of mutual operation. And the operation speed of Decoder is improved by using ROM and parallel structure. The proposed Encoder and Decoder are simulated with ModelSim and Active-HDL and synthesized with Synopsys. We can see that this chip is implemented on Xilinx Virtex2 XC2V3000. A share of slice is 28%. nut speed of this paper is 45Mhz.

In general, Euclidean minimum spanning tree is a tree connecting input nodes with minimum connecting cost. But the tree may not be optimal when applied to real world problems of three dimension. In this paper, three dimension Euclidean minimum spanning tree is proposed, connecting all input nodes of 3-dimensional space with minimum cost. In experiments for 30,000 input nodes with 100% space ratio, the tree produced by the proposed method can reduce 90.0% connection cost tree, compared with the tree by two dimension Prim's minimum spanning tree. In two dimension plane, the proposed tree increases 251.2% connecting cost, which is pointless in 3-dimensional real world. Therefore, the proposed method can work well for many connecting problems in real world space of three dimensions.

This paper proposes a new low-power and small-area Reed-Solomon decoder. The proposed Reed-Solomon decoder using a novel simplified form of the modified Euclid's algorithm can support low-hardware complexity and low-Power consumption for Reed-Solomon decoding. The simplified modified Euclid's algorithm uses new initial conditions and polynomial computations to reduce hardware complexity, and thus, the implemented architecture consisting of 3r basic cells has the lowest hardware complexity compared with existing modified Euclid's and Berlekamp-Massey architectures. The Reed-Solomon decoder has been synthesized using the $0.18{\mu}m$ Samsung standard cell library and operates at 370MHz and its data rate supports up to 2.9Gbps. For the (255, 239, 8) RS code, the gate counts of the simplified modified Euclid's architecture and the whole decoder excluding FIFO memory are only 20,166 and 40,136, respectively. Therefore, the proposed decoder can reduce the total gate count at least 5% compared with the conventional DCME decoder.

In this paper, we propose a novel RS decoder design yielding smallr circuit size shorter coding latency. The proposed architecture of RS decoder has the following two features. First, circuit size reduced by using Euclid algorithm with mutual operation between cells. Second, coding latency is reduced by using higher frequency than syndrome and error value calculation block. We performed simulation with C language and MATLAB in order to verify the decoding algorithm and implemented using FPGA chips in VHDL.

Reed-Solomon(RS) codes have been employed to correct burst errors in applications such as CD-ROM, HDTV, ATM and digital VCRs. For the decoding RS codes, the Berlekamp-Massey algorithm, Euclidean algorithm and modified Euclidean algorithm(MEA) have been developed among which the MEA becomes the most popular decoding scheme. We propose an efficient recursive cell architecture suitable for the MEA. The advantages of the proposed scheme are twofold. First, The proposed architecture uses about 25% less clock cycles required in the MEA operation than[1]. Second, the number of recursive MEA cells can be reduced, when the number of clock cycles spent in the MEA operation is larger than code word length n. thereby buffer requirement for the received words can be reduced. For demonstration, the MEA circurity for (128,124) RS code have been described and the MEA operation is verified through VHDL.
