Implementing Finite State Machine Based Operating System for Wireless Sensor Nodes (무선 센서 노드를 위한 FSM 기반 운영체제의 구현)

  • Wireless sensor networks have emerged as one of the key enabling technologies for ubiquitous computing since wireless intelligent sensor nodes connected by short range communication media serve as a smart intermediary between physical objects and people in ubiquitous computing environment. We recognize the wireless sensor network as a massively distributed and deeply embedded system. Such systems require concurrent and asynchronous event handling as a distributed system and resource-consciousness as an embedded system. Since the operating environment and architecture of wireless sensor networks, with the seemingly conflicting requirements, poses unique design challenges and constraints to developers, we propose a very new operating system for sensor nodes based on finite state machine. In this paper, we clarify the design goals reflected from the characteristics of sensor networks, and then present the heart of the design and implementation of a compact and efficient state-driven operating system, SenOS. We describe how SenOS can operate in an extremely resource constrained sensor node while providing the required reactivity and dynamic reconfigurability with low update cost. We also compare our experimental results after executing some benchmark programs on SenOS with those on TinyOS.

  • 네트워크상에서 발생하는 다양한 형태의 대량의 데이터를 정확하고 효율적으로 분석하기 위해 설계되고 있는 마이닝 시스템들은 목표지향적으로 훈련데이터들을 어떻게 구축하여 다룰 것인지에 대한 문제보다는 대부분 얼마나 많은 데이터 마이닝 기법을 지원하고 이를 적용할 수 있는지 등의 기법에 초점을 두고 있다. 따라서, 점점 더 에이전트화, 분산화, 자동화 및 은닉화 되는 최근의 보안공격기법을 정확하게 탐지하기 위한 방법은 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 유비쿼터스 환경 내에서 발생 가능한 문제 중 복잡하고 지능화된 침입패턴의 탐지를 위해 데이터 마이닝 기법과 결함허용방법을 이용하는 개선된 학습알고리즘과 후처리 방법에 의한 RTPID(Refinement Training and Post-processing for Intrusion Detection)시스템을 제안한다. 본 논문에서의 RTPID 시스템은 active learning과 post-processing을 이용하여, 네트워크 내에서 발생 가능한 침입형태들을 정확하고 효율적으로 다루어 분석하고 있다. 이는 기법에만 초점을 맞춘 기존의 데이터마이닝 분석을 개선하고 있으며, 특히 제안된 분석 프로세스를 진행하는 동안 능동학습방법의 장점을 수용하여 학습효과는 높이며 비용을 감소시킬 수 있는 자가학습방법(self learning)방법의 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 이는 관리자의 개입을 최소화하는 학습방법이면서 동시에 False Positive와 False Negative 의 오류를 매우 효율적으로 개선하는 방법으로 기대된다. 본 논문의 제안방법은 분석도구나 시스템에 의존하지 않기 때문에, 유사한 문제를 안고 있는 여러 분야의 네트웍 환경에 적용될 수 있다.더욱 높은성능을 가짐을 알 수 있다.의 각 노드의 전력이 위험할 때 에러 패킷을 발생하는 기법을 추가하였다. NS-2 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 실험을 한 결과, 제안한 기법이 AOMDV에 비해 경로 탐색 횟수가 최대 36.57% 까지 감소되었음을 알 수 있었다.의 작용보다 더 강력함을 시사하고 있다.TEX>로 최고값을 나타내었으며 그 후 감소하여 담금 10일에는 $1.61{\sim}2.34%$였다. 시험구간에는 KKR, SKR이 비교적 높은 값을 나타내었다. 무기질 함량은 발효기간이 경과할수록 증하였고 Ca는 $2.95{\sim}36.76$, Cu는 $0.01{\sim}0.14$, Fe는 $0.71{\sim}3.23$, K는 $110.89{\sim}517.33$, Mg는 $34.78{\sim}122.40$, Mn은 $0.56{\sim}5.98$, Na는 $0.19{\sim}14.36$, Zn은 $0.90{\sim}5.71ppm$을 나타내었으며, 시험구별로 보면 WNR, BNR구가 Na만 제외한 다른 무기성분 함량이 가장 높았다.O to reduce I/O cost by reusing data already present in the memory of other nodes.   • As the environment with sensor network and ubiquitous computing is emerged, there are many demands of handling continuous, fast data such as streaming data. As work about streaming data has begun, work about management of streaming data in Publish-Subscribe system is started. The recent emergence of XML as a standard for information exchange on Internet has led to more interest in Publish - Subscribe system. A filtering technique of streaming XML data in the existing Publish- Subscribe system is using some schemes based on automata and YFilter, which is one of filtering techniques, is very popular. YFilter exploits commonality among path queries by sharing the common prefixes of the paths so that they are processed at most one and that is using the top-down approach. However, because partial matching path queries interrupt the common prefix sharing and don't calculate from root, throughput of YFilter decreases. So we use sharing of commonality among path queries with the common postfixes of the paths and use the bottom-up approach instead of the top-down approach. This filtering technique is called as PoSFilter. And we verify this technique through comparing with YFilter about throughput.

  • The ubiquitous and autonomic computing environments is open and dynamic providing the universal wireless access through seamless integration of software and system architectures. The ubiquitous computing have to offer the user-centric pervasive services according to the wireless access. Therefore the roaming services with the predefined security associations among all of the mobile devices in various networks is especially complex and difficult. Furthermore, there has been little study of security coordination for realistic autonomic system capable of authenticating users with different kinds of user interfaces, efficient context modeling with user profiles on Smart Cards, and providing pervasive access service by setting roaming agreements with a variety of wireless network operators. This paper proposes a Roaming Coordinator-based security management framework that supports the capability of interoperator roaming with the pervasive security services among the push service based network domains. Compared to traditional mobile systems in which a Universal Subscriber Identity Module(USIM) is dedicated to one service domain only, our proposed system with Roaming Coordinator is more open, secure, and easy to update for security services throughout the different network domains such as public wireless local area networks(PWLANs), 3G cellular networks and wireless metropolitan area networks(WMANs).

Ambient Display: Picture Navigation Based on User Movement (앰비언트 디스플레이: 사용자 위치 이동 기반의 사진 내비게이션)

  • In ubiquitous computing, there is increasing demand for ubiquitous displays that react to a user's actions. We propose a method of navigating pictures on an ambient display using implicit interactions. The ambient display can identify the user and measure how far away they are using an RFID reader and ultrasonic sensors. When the user is a long way from the display, it acts as a digital picture and does not attract attention. When the user comes within an appropriate range for interaction, the display shows pictures that are related to the user and provides quasi-3D navigation using the TIP(tour into the picture) method. In addition, menus can be manipulated directly on a touch-screen or remotely using an air mouse. In an emergency, LEDs around the display flash to alert the user.

  • 수화의 인식 및 표현 기술에 대한 관련 연구는 수화 인식을 통한 건청인과의 의사 전달, 가상현실에서의 손동작 인식 등을 대상으로 여러 방면으로의 접근 및 연구 결과를 도출하고 있다. 그러나 이들 연구의 대부분 데스크탑 PC기반의 수신호(Hand signal) 제어 및 수화 - 손 동작 인식에 목적을 두었고 수화 신호의 획득을 위하여 영상장비를 이용하였으며 이를 바탕으로 단어 위주의 수화 인식 및 표현에 중점을 둔 수화 인식 시스템의 구현을 통해 비장애인과의 자유로운 의사소통을 추구하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 햅틱 장치로부터 사용자의 의미있는 수화 제스처를 획득하기 위한 접근 방식을 차세대 착용형 PC 플랫폼 기반의 유비쿼터스 환경으로 확대, 적용시켜 제스처 데이터 입력 모듈로부터 새로운 정보의 획득에 있어 한계성을 극복하고 사용자의 편의를 도모할 수 있는 효율적인 데이터 획득 방안을 제시한다. 또한 퍼지 알고리즘 및 RDBMS 모듈을 이용하여 언제, 어디에서나 사용자의 의미 있는 문장형 수화 제스처를 실시간으로 인식하고 표현하는 수화 제스처 인식기를 구현하였다. 본 논문에서는 수화 제스처 입력 모듈(5th Data Glove System과 $Fastrak{\circledR}$)과 차세대 착용형 PC 플랫폼(embedded I.MX21 board)간의 이격거리를 반경 10M의 타원 형태로 구성하고 규정된 위치로 수화 제스처 데이터 입력모듈을 이동시키면서 5인의 피실험자에 대하여 연속적으로 20회의 반복 실험을 수행하였으며 사용자의 동적 제스처 인식 실험결과 92.2% 평균 인식률을 도출하였다.

An Effective Energy Supply Scheme for Network Lifetime Maximization in Cluster based Sensor Networks (클러스터 기반 센서 네트워크 수명 극대화를 위한 효율적인 에너지 공급 기법)

  • Sensor networks are expected to play key roles in establishment of fundamental infrastructures, information collection, and devices control to provide services for ubiquitous society in the near future, where recent issues include energy efficient energy supply scheme in the sensor network based systems has been getting more attention. This paper formulates an energy supply problem that minimizes the total energy supplied to clustered sensor networks while maintaining the network lifetime. An energy supply scheme is suggested that determines the the amount of engergy supply to each cluster head based on the solution of the problem. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves better energy efficiency compared with a simple scheme of maximum possible energy supply to each cluster head.

  • Currently, Scalable Video Coding (SVC) is being standardized. By using scalability of SVC, QoS managed video streaming service is enabled in heterogeneous networks even with only one original bitstream. But current SVC is insufficient to dynamic video conversion for the scalability, thereby the adaptation of bitrate to meet a fluctuating network condition is limited. In this paper, we propose dynamic full-scalability conversion method for QoS adaptive video streaming in H.264/AVC SVC. To accomplish full scalability dynamic conversion, we propose corresponding bitstream extraction, encoding and decoding schemes. On the encoder, we newly insert the IDR NAL to solve the problems of spatial scalability conversion. On the extractor, we analyze the SVC bitstream to get the information which enable dynamic extraction. By using this information, real time extraction is achieved. Finally, we develop the decoder so that it can manage changing bitrate to support real time full-scalability. The experimental results showed that dynamic full-scalability conversion was verified and it was necessary for time varying network condition.

MyWorkspace: VR Platform with an Immersive User Interface (MyWorkspace: 몰입형 사용자 인터페이스를 이용한 가상현실 플랫폼)

  • With the recent development of virtual reality, it has been actively investigated to develop user interfaces for immersive interaction. Immersive user interfaces improve the efficiency and the capability of information processing in the virtual environment providing various services, and provide effective interaction in the field of ubiquitous and mobile computing. In this paper, we propose an virtual reality platform "My Workspace" which renders an 3D virtual workspace by using an immersive user interface. We develop an interface that integrates an optical see-through head-mounted display, a Wii remote controller, and a helmet with infrared LEDs. It estimates the user's gaze direction in terms of horizontal and vertical angles based on the model of head movements. My Workspace expands the current 2D workspace based on monitors into the layered 3D workspace, and renders a part of 3D virtual workspace corresponding to the gaze direction. The user can arrange various tasks on the virtual workspace and switch each task by moving his head. In this paper, we will also verify the performance of the immersive user interface as well as its usefulness with the usability test.

  • Various studies on individual health-care application services have been lively going on due to recent development of information and communication technology and improvement of life quality. Moreover, U-health care area is emerging as a new growth industry as the demand of U-health care service for a quality life grows with the development of medical technology and ubiquitous environment. U-health care system for crew members on ships, who need to spend much time on sea far from their families, is especially needed because they find their job much more stressful not only physically but also mentally than any other people in different jobs do and have less chance to get proper medical services in time. In this paper, we suggested how to get more accurate and objective U-health wellbeing index by complementing SF-36, the general heath care index model in order to managing health of crew. Also we designed the U-health wellbeing index service system which can provide appropriate sports programs or diet contents according to health index.
