  • In this analysis, from the perspective of the business ecosystem, the economic effects of the oil and gas E&P industry were estimated. Australia, Norway, and the US, which are countries that are active in oil and gas E&P projects, and Japan and Korea, which are not, were analyzed. According to the analysis results, every country has a induced production coefficient of the oil and gas E&P industry greater than 1. Norway and the US have formed an industrial ecosystem across all industries, evenly demanding intermediate inputs for the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries. In contrast, Korea and Japan have a very large input ratio from the tertiary industry and an industrial ecosystem centered on the tertiary industry. It should be considered that the high input ratio of certain industry in business ecosystem determine the scale of the induced effect. When the business ecosystem are formed with many industries evenly, and the induced coefficient is high, it is necessary to increase the amount of final demand of the industry to make the effects of coefficient to increase.

  • Based on a case study of bank's Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) in Korea, this paper attempts to reveal dynamic changes occurring across the financial landscape with special emphasis on distribution pattern and location factors. Since the distribution of ATMs showed a concentrated pattern similar to that of bank branches, location quotients were examined to consider the effect of branches on ATM distribution. Furthermore, this study identified four factors that play pivotal roles in the location of ATMs. Compared to branch, location of ATM was more closely related to the population and demand factor, while the importance of local economy base and local economic power factor was reduced to some degree. This difference is attributable to the peculiar characteristic of the services offered by ATM. Lastly, demand factor turned out to be most influential in determining the ratio of ATMs to branches in each district, since lower deployment and operation costs allow ATMs to be more flexibly placed where demand for cash services is high.

  • The present annexed parking lot standards for buildings in Parking Act are categorized in 9 groups with 13 parking standards in terms of recreation, culture and assembly, housing, factory, warehouse, and so on, in which same grouped facilities have same parking standards. These days diversity in building types and functions need more fractionated parking standards; however, most local governments focusing merely on applying strengthened parking standards in general without systematic rules of consistency. The current problem of parking standards being used is lack of regarding facility characteristics; expecially, a large sized high-tech manufacturing facility located in industrial site is still applied by same parking standards as normal manufacturing facility, even though most part of manufacturing process is automated and hence less manpower is employed. This paper presents a parking generation forecasting model for factory facilities in industrial site in terms of facility use and scale characteristics.

  • This study aims to analyze the interregional trade and industrial linkage between the Incheon regional economy and the rest of the nation. An interregional input-output table developed by the Bank of Korea's Incheon branch(2007) was employed for this. The analysis of interregional trade shows that Incheon regional economy is strongly interrelated with Seoul and Gyeonggi regional economies. The Incheon's interregional relationship with other regions was analyzed in terms of output dependency rate, output inducement rate, backward linkage, and forward linkage. The results indicated that while the output of Incheon is more dependent on final demands in Seoul and Gyeonggi, changes of the final demand in Incheon cause more output in the rest of nation than that in Seoul and Gyeonggi. Also, while Incheon's backward linkage to Seoul and Gyeonggi is weaker than that to the rest of nation, Incheon's forward linkage to Seoul and Gyeonggi is stronger than that to the rest of nation.

  • Rapid urbanization causes a variety of transportation problems, including parking. Then transportation engineers would get involved in trying to solve parking problem. Estimation of parking demand is essential for finding a solution to the parking problem. Estimation of parking demand generally uses the "parking basic unit"; however, the parking basic unit does not totally determine parking demand. This study analyzes the problems with using the parking basic unit with a field investigation and the establishment of a new parking demand calculation model. Parking basic units estimated from the mean parking basic unit method are higher than those resulting from a regression analysis. However, parking basic units resulting from these methods fail to satisfy parking demand in many buildings. Analysis results for a cumulative distribution of parking basic units are reasonable if they satisfy 88% of parking demand in buildings. However, parking basic units that satisfy 88% of parking demand in buildings is a problem in some areas with an oversupply of parking lots. Ultimately, this study establishes a parking demand calculation model.

  • This study analyzed the induced effects of the aggregate and stone sectors using the industry association table. First, the added value of the aggregate and stone sectors was summarized, and then the intermediate input structure and induced effect were analyzed. In terms of value-added structure, aggregate and stone showed a higher employee remuneration rate compared to the manufacturing industry, and a higher rate of operating surplus compared to other mining industries. The intermediate input structure summarizes the sector using aggregate and stone products as intermediate inputs and their input ratio. The proportion of the intermediate element input structure was confirmed. In addition, the main input sectors of ready-mixed concrete, the largest consumer of aggregate and stone, are also summarized. The production-inducing effect of aggregate and stone showed a higher influence coefficient than the sensitivity coefficient, confirming that they had a relatively large rear chain effect. The production inducement effect was reviewed by reconstructing the industry association table, and it was found to show a relative superiority in the influence coefficient, similar to the results derived according to the provisional classification of the Bank of Korea.

  • Due to the lack of national consensus on the importance and value of the character industry and the lack of recognition of value as a national strategic industry, the development of the character industry is experiencing great difficulties. The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic effects of character industry in China to help establish policies and strategies for the character industry in the future. To this end, this study utilized the China 2017 Industrial Association Table. The analysis results are as follows. China's character industry has a lower production inducement effect than other industries with a column total of 3.45514, and a row total of 1.30015. This shows that China's character industry is still being produced by small and medium-sized companies with a low equity ratio. Second, in the character industry, the index of the sensitivity of dispersion representing the forward linkage effect is 0.01426 and the impact factor is 0.03790, which are all less than 1. Therefore, it can be said to be the final demand manufacturing type.Third, in China character industry's income induction is 0.47690 and the production tax induction effect is -0.04912. It can be seen that the character industry has less income induction and tax burden generated every time the final demand increases by one unit in the entire industry than in other industries.Despite the quantitative growth of the character industry in China, the impact on other industries is low and it is not playing a role as an income-generating industry. Structural improvement is needed for the qualitative development of China's character industry.
