Vacuum-Electrostatic Bonding Properties of Glass-to-Glass Substrates (유리-유리 기판의 진공-정전 열 접합 특성)

  • As an essential technology for the FED, VFD and PDP packaging having merits of no glass frit and no glass tube usage, two sodalime glass substrates were electrostatically-bonded in a vacuum environment, and the bond properties were compared with the case of bonding in atmosphere. The glass wafer pairs bonded in vacuum using a-Si interlayer had a relatively lower bond strength than the ones bonded in atmosphere under same bonding conditions (temperature and voltage). And the bond strength was increased in the case of oxygen ambient. Through the XPS and SIMS analyses fur the surface region of a-silicon and bulk glass, it might be concluded that the lower bonding strength was originated from the inactive silicon oxide growth occurred during the electrostatic bonding process due to oxygen deficiency in vacuum.

  • CIGS 박막태양전지는 박막태양전지 중 최고 효율(20%)을 보이는 태양전지로 각광받고 있다. 이러한 고효율 태양전지는 Soda-lime glass 를 기판으로 사용한 경우로 기판과 CIGS층의 열팽창계수가 비슷하고 또 나트륨이 CIGS 성장시 확산하여 광흡수층에 유익한 영향을 준다고 알려져 있다. 본 실험에서는 나트륨이 함유된 소다라임유리와 거의 포함하고 있지 않은 코닝유리를 기판으로 사용하여 CIGS 광흡수층의 차이를 분석하였다. SIMS, SEM분석결과 소다라임유리의 CIGS Mo 부근과 표면부위에 Na 농도가 높으며, grain 크기가 코닝에 비해 작음을 알 수 있었다. 전기적 특성은 소다라임유리기판의 경우 p-type 농도가 코닝유리기판에 비해 약 $10^5{\sim}10^6$천배가량 높음을 확인하였다. 셀특성또한 코닝 11%, SLG는 16%로 효율차이가 발생하였으며 이는 나트륨으로 p-type 전도도가 향상되어 효율이 개선되는 것으로 판단된다.

Substrate effects of ZnO films deposited by rf magnetron sputtering (고주파 마그네트론 스펏터링법으로 제조한 ZnO박막의 기판에 따른 효과)

  • ZnO thin films were prepared on glass and (012) sapphire substrates by rf magnetron sputtering. Polycrysralline ZnO films with a (002) orientation were obtained on glass substrates. (110) ZnO films were epitaxially grown on the (012) sapphire substrates. Surface acoustic wave properties were also measured for propagating along the c axis of ZnO film on the glass and sapphire substrates. The phase velocities ($V_{p}$) on glass and sapphire substrate at center frequency were 2680 m/sec and 5980 m/sec and the effective coupling coefficient ($k^{2}$) on the 0th mode were 0.98 % and 1.43 %, respectively.

  • PE/PET 필름이 부착된 디스플레이 또는 유리기판 가공에 있어서 유리기판에 대한 고정은 필수 기술요소라 할 수 있다. 이러한 유리기판 위의 필름을 제거하기 위해서는 정밀한 절단기술이 필요하며, 평탄도가 일정하지 않는 유리기판에 대하여 균일한 압력을 가하여 일정한 평탄도를 유지하여 유리기판에 부착된 필름을 가공할 수 있다. 이러한 유리기판에 부탁된 필름을 가공할 수 있는 기술은 유리기판을 흡착시키는 공압기술과 정밀가공처리된 평탄도 $5[{\mu}m]$이상의 베이스(base)판 위에 유리기판을 고정할 수 있는 고정 압착시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 본 논문에서는 유리기판이나 표면의 부착된 필름커팅 시 유리기판위에 결함이 발생하지 않도록 유리기판을 흡착시키는 공압시스템 및 정밀가공시스템을 제안하고자 한다.

Analysis of the Spectrum Characteristics of Etched Glass Surface by Incident Angle (입사각에 따른 에칭 기판의 분광특성분석)

  • Lights that enter the surface of a solar cell cannot be absorbed inside all of the solar cells, and some of it is reflected off the surface of the substrate, resulting in loss. Because of this, many studies are underway to reduce reflective losses on the surface of substrates or to steam the generated charge inside the solar cell. In this paper, surface treatment for forming a rough surface by wet etching the surface of a glass substrate is advanced, and structural characteristics of the rough surface are analyzed. Then, spectral characteristics by changing the angle of the glass substrate to which light enters the company are analyzed. When the light entering the company is investigated on a etched surface, it is confirmed that the probability of re-absorbing the light inside the glass substrate by multiple reflection is increased. When entering the light while changing the angle of the glass substrate, the transmission and reflection performance of the light are not changed.

  • We investigated solution growth of silicon on borosilicate and quartz glass substrates in the temperature range of $800^{\circ}C~520^{\circ}C$. A thin Al-Si layer evaporated onto the substrate serves to improve the wetting between the substrate and the Al/Ga solvent. Nucleation takes place by a reaction of Al with $SiO_2$ from the substrate. We obtained silicon deposits with a grain size up to a few 100 $\mu\textrm{m}$. There was a perferential (111) orientation for the case of quartz glass substrates while there is a strong contribution of other orientations for the deposition of Si on borosilicate glass substrates.

Conversion Efficiency Enhancement of a-Si:H Thin-Film Solar Cell Using Periodic Patterned Substrate (주기적인 패턴 유리 기판을 사용한 비정질 실리콘 박막 태양전지의 효율 향상에 관한 연구)

  • We fabricated a-Si:H thin-film solar cell using the two-dimensional (2D) periodic patterned glass substrate. The use of a 3D periodic texture rather than a randomly texture at surface of TCO can result in higher short circuit current densities ($J_{sc}$). In order to analyze the optical effect of patterning glasses, ray-tracing simulations were performed. Also, p-i-n cells were deposited on patterned glasses as substrate by PECVD. UV-Vis spectroscopy, light I-V measurement were carried out for the optoelectronic characterization. The anti-reflective and light-trapping performance of patterning glass substrate was investigated by a comparison of experimental results with numerical simulations.

  • New Chip-on-glass technology to attach an Si chip directly on the glass substrate of LCD panel was studied with local heating method of the Si chip by using thin film heater fabricated on the Si chip. Square-shaped Cu thin film heater with the width of $150\;{\mu}m$, thickness of $0.8\;{\mu}m$, and total length of 12.15 mm was sputter-deposited on the $5\;mm{\times}5\;mm$ Si chip. With applying current of 0.9A for 60 sec to the Cu thin film heater, COG bonding of a Si chip to a glass substrate was successfully accomplished with reflowing the Sn-3.5Ag solder bumps on the Si chip.

  • Single ion exchange process was used, and the ion exchange behavior and mechanical properties were investigated in substrate glass for flat panel display. In order to study the effects of ion exchange, ion exchange behavior with ion penetration depth, amount of ion exchange, density and thermal expansion was measured according to the time and temperature. The mechanical properties were evaluated by the three point bending test and curvature change, and then the fracture patterns were investigated by optical microscope.
