Experimental Study on Meso-Scale Milling Process Using Nanofluid Minimum Quantity Lubrication (나노유체를 이용한 메소스케일 밀링 가공 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper present the characteristics of micro- and meso-scale milling processes in which compressed cold air, minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) and $MoS_2$ nanofluid MQL are used. For process characterization, the microand meso-scale milling experiments are conducted using desktop meso-scale machine tool system and the surface roughness is measured. The experimental results show that the use of compressed chilly air and nanofluid MQL in the micro- and meso-scale milling processes is effective in improving the surface finish.

Rig Tester Development for the Performance Validation of a Piston Oil Cooling Gallery (피스톤 오일 냉각 유로의 성능 검증을 위한 리그 시험기 개발)

  • The operation condition of recently designed pistons for high power and high speed diesel engine become more severe due to the increment of combustion pressure and temperature. So, in order to overcome high temperature, the application of the mono-metal cast aluminum alloy piston featuring an enclosed cast-in open cooling gallery has increased. In this research, it is developed a PCJ (piston cooling jet) rig tester, described the test procedure and validated the performance of sample piston cooling gallery design. Then the test rig will be used for developing the design technology of piston cooling gallery. The test rig is composed with oil reservoir and pumping system, oil jet system, piston fixing and moving system, collecting oil measuring system, and data measuring and recording system. It will be measured collecting efficiencies under conditions of a few piston positions, oil jet pressures and oil viscosities for a piston cooling gallery. Furthermore, the PCJ rig tester will be used for the optimum design of the oil cooling gallery which being applied to increase the cooling efficiency of pistons in diesel engines satisfying the EURO V emission regulation and the more.

  • 본 논문에서는 환경친화적이고, 인화점 및 발화점이 높아 화재의 위험도가 낮은 식물성 절연우를 기존 변압기의 광유를 대체로 사용하기 위한 열적 특성을 열유동해석을 이용하여 온도분포를 수치해석을 통하여 예측하였다. 해석모델로는 154kV 급 단상 내철형 유입자냉식 변압기를 대상으로 CFD 해석을 수행하였으며, 광유와 식물성 절연유는 부하의 변화에 따른 온도특성을 파악하는 동시에 핫스팟(hot spot)을 예측하였다. 본 논문은 변압기를 3차원 모델링하여 유동 및 온도 분포를 해석한 결과, 변압기의 내부 온도 및 핫스팟 추적에 대하여 변압기의 수명에 대한 예측이 가능하며, 식물성 절연유를 사용한 전력용 변압기 온도 분포 해석결과는 식물성 절연유의 적용 및 냉각 설계 변경에 기초자료롤 활용될 것이다.

Influence of Base Oils and Extreme Pressure Additives on Lubricity and Anti-Seizure Property of Lubricant in Cold Rolling (기유와 극압제가 압연유의 윤활성 및 내소부성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effects on lubricity and the anti-seizure property of lubricant according to base oils and extreme pressure additives of sulfur type and phosphorous type in cold rolling were evaluated by a laboratory scale rolling mill, where the contact conditions between work roll and strip are very close to actual cold rolling mill. The important results were obtained as follows : (1) synthetic oil has better effect on lubricity than tallow, (2) lubricant with extreme pressure additives of sulfur type of phosphorous type has better effect than base oil noly, (3) the more amount of extreme pressure additives is, the better effect on lubricity is, (4) sulfur type has better effect on lubricity than phosphorous type and (6) phosphorous type has better effect on anti-seizure property than sulfur type.

Experimental Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics of Jet A-1 Fuel (Jet A-1 연료의 열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this paper, the heat transfer characteristics of Jet A-1, which is used as a coolant and fuel in a regeneratively cooled thrust chamber, were experimentally studied. By varying the applied current for heating the cooling channel, the simulated specimen diameter, the specimen outlet pressure and the coolant flow rate, the wall temperatures of the specimen and the Jet A-1 temperatures at the specimen inlet/outlet were measured. It was found that the specimen diameter and the flow rate were important factors for the characteristics of heat transfer and the outlet pressure did not affect the performance of heat transfer. The results of the heat transfer experiments were compared with the previous Nusselt number empirical equations and novel Nusselt number empirical equations were finally derived.

  • 최근 3-준위 원자계에서 원자 결맞음에 관련된 현상에 대해 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 전자기 유도 투과, 전자기 유도 흡수, 밀도 반전 없는 레이저 발진, 선폭이 좁은 공진에 의한 큰 굴절률의 실현, 저광속, 초광속, 초저온 원자 냉각 현상들은 원자 결맞음과 관련된 현상들이다. 3준위 원자계는 계단형, V 형, ∧ 형으로 분류할 수 있는데, ∧ 형의 3준위 원자계는 바닥상태간의 간섭성이 오래 지속될 수 있으므로 ∧ 형의 3준위 원자계가 실질적으로 많이 연구되고 있다. (중략)

  • 전자기 유도 투과(electromagnetically induced transparency ; EIT)는 원자의 공명 진동수를 갖는 조사광이 원자 매질을 통과할 때, 강한 결합광에 의한 효과로 매질에 흡수되지 않고 투과하는 양자 간섭 효과로써 원자결맞음 현상의 가장 대표적인 현상 중의 하나이다.   • In recent applications, map controlled thermostat has been adapted to optimize engine cooling system and vehicle cooling system. First of all, this strategy is focused on improving fuel consumption rate and reducing emissions, especially unburned hydrocarbon. The object can be obtained through controlling engine metal temperature by varying engine coolant temperature with engine load and speed. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of engine metal temperature and heat rejection rate to coolant. From the results of tested engines, it is obvious that fuel consumption rate has more dominant effect on engine metal temperatures than the corresponding engine power does. Also, Re-Nu relation which shows heat rejection rate to coolant in function of air-fuel mixture and engine specifications has been studied. Also, the empirical Re-Nu relation at full loaded engine was developed.

  • When oil flows and rubs against various materials in transformer, electrostatic charges are separated at the interface of the oil and the solid material. Using simplified model transformer, authors investigated the basic characteristics of the streaming electrifica-tion which is caused by forced oil circulation. As the result of the study, it was concluded that the electrostatic charge distribution on test pipe of the transformer showed larger leakage current at the inlet and the outlet.

  • Shell & Tube type Oil Cooler is widely used for hydraulic presses, die casting machines, generation equipments, machine tools and construction heavy machinery. Temperature of oil in the hydraulic system changes viscosity and thickness of oil film. They have a bad effect to performance and lubrication of hydraulic machinery, so it is important to know exactly the heat exchanging efficiency of oil cooler for controlling oil temperature. But most Korean manufacturers do not have test equipment for oil cooler, so they cannot carry out the efficiency test of oil cooler and it is impossible to verify its performance. This paper includes information of construction of necessary utilities for oil cooler test and design and manufacture of test equipment. One can select the optimum product by obtaining performance data through tests of various kinds of oil coolers. And also the paper developed a program which can be easily used for design of 2D and 3D drawings of oil cooler.
