A New Design of Signal Constellation of the Spiral Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (나선 직교진폭변조 신호성상도의 새로운 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a new design method of signal constellation of the spiral quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) exploiting a modified gradient descent search algorithm and its binary mapping rule. Unlike the conventional method, the new method, which uses and the constellation optimization algorithm and the maximum number of iterations as a parameter for the iterative design, is more robust to phase noise. And the proposed binary mapping rule significantly reduces the average Hamming distance of the spiral constellation. As a result, the proposed spiral QAM constellation has much improved error performance compared to the conventional ones even in a very severe phase noise environment. It is, therefore, considered that the proposed QAM may be a useful modulation format for coherent optical communication systems and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems.

  • Recently, multi-material structural topology optimization is more critical because it provides reasonable solution to weight reduction challenges and can as well provide effective conceptual design. For conventional multi-material topology optimization (MMTO), the number of design variable increases when the number of candidate materials increases, and accordingly, a significant increase in computational time occurs. Therefore, MMTO with a single design variable, such as the phase section method (PSM) was proposed. This research is focused on improving the PSM, considering three major limitations: the composition ratio does not represent the area or volume ratio, design variables are not sufficiently concentrated to target values, and certain materials are created less than they are required. To address such limitations, the redefined composition ratio and adjusted parameters for better convergence are proposed. The validation of proposed modifications is verified via two- and three-dimensional numerical examples.

Speckle Noise Reduction and Image Quality Improvement in U-net-based Phase Holograms in BL-ASM (BL-ASM에서 U-net 기반 위상 홀로그램의 스펙클 노이즈 감소와 이미지 품질 향상)

  • The band-limited angular spectrum method (BL-ASM) causes aliasing errors due to spatial frequency control problems. In this paper, a sampling interval adjustment technique for phase holograms and a technique for reducing speckle noise and improving image quality using a deep-learningbased U-net model are proposed. With the proposed technique, speckle noise is reduced by first calculating the sampling factor and controlling the spatial frequency by adjusting the sampling interval so that aliasing errors can be removed in a wide range of propagation. The next step is to improve the quality of the reconstructed image by learning the phase hologram to which the deep learning model is applied. In the S/W simulation of various sample images, it was confirmed that the peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity index measure (SSIM) were improved by 5% and 0.14% on average, compared with the existing BL-ASM.

  • Recently policy coordination and integration have emerged as core challenges as complexity and uncertainty of policy. Especially as innovation and environment policy is expanding and its position is being further elevated within policy hierarchy, policy integration has emerged as core governance challenges for nation states. OECD countries emphasized the need of coordination and integration of policy by introducing concepts such as 'Environmental Policy Integration', 'the Third generation innovation policy', 'integrated innovation policy'. This study analysed the background, concepts, objects, mechanisms, and major issues of integrated innovation policy and various attempts for integrate innovation policy by policy level and cycle. Developing integrated innovation policies has become increasingly important for the EU and OECD countries in recent years. OECD countries including Finland have developed broader policy agendas for balancing policy objectives and aims of other policy sectors and horizontal relationships with other policy sectors. Policy integration helps to reorient policies where related policies are in conflict and to ensure coherence across different policy areas. Policy integration emphasizes long-term policy adjustment and adaptation based on social agreement and common vision.

Analysis of Intrafractional Mass Variabilities Using Deformable Image Registration Program (영상변조 프로그램을 이용한 호흡 위상 간 종양의 움직임 특성 분석)

  • The aim of this study is to compare the geometric characteristics of the lung tumor, such as tumor centroid, HU change relative to breath phase, depending on tumor location and adhesion using 4DCT and deformable image registration program (MIMVista). The Y axis change was most significant and the mean Y axis centroid fluctuation was $7.32{\pm}6.88mm$ in lower lung tumor. The mean HU variation in lower lung mass has changed more than other locations, and its mean HU variation was $7.7{\pm}4.97%$ and non-adhered mass was more changed. Correlation for the mass volume between 3DCT and MIP was very high and its coefficient was 0.998. The effect of tumor location, adhesion and diaphragm excursion to geometric uncertainties was analyzed by linear regression model, it was influenced to mass deformation and geometrical variation so much except diaphragm excursion. but intra-fractional and inter-patient's uncertainties were great, so it couldn't find any exact deformation trend.

  • Mobile communications is argued to reshape and activate the existing space by increasing 'mobile communicability en route' and 'real time interaction.' This study is designed to make an empirical analysis on how different the use of a cellular phone is in each different space. In this study, the space is divided into three distinct parts including the private, social and public space. First, spatial micro-coordination and experience of polysemy of place are widely observed in the use of a mobile phone in the private space. Secondly, it is found that a mobile phone contributes to extending the scope of social contacts which in turn compliments the existing social relationship. Moreover, a full-time intimate community that is connected via a mobile phone results in reshaping the social space. Lastly, the study shows that the usage pattern of a mobile phone varies depending on the type of public space. The technological development is envisaged to lead to more demand for the public space while facilitating the use of the public space.

  • 본 논문은, Cascaded-H-bridge 정류기를 사용하는 SST 시스템에서의 DC-link 전압 밸런싱을 위한 실용적이고 구성이 용이한 제어기에 관한 것이다. 제안하는 제어기는 DC-DC stage의 Dual active bridge 컨버터의 개별적인 위상 제어를 통해 DC-link의 전압을 개별 조정한다. 기존의 연구된 전압 밸런싱 기법들에 비해, 제안하는 제어기는 별도의 회로 및 장치가 필요 없고, 확장성이 용이 하며, 구성이 용이하면서 실용성을 가지는 장점들이 있다. 제안하는 제어기는 5kW의 7-level SST 시제품을 제작하여 검증하였다.

  • Eddy current sensor is representative instrument measuring gap to base metal and sensing trouble in base metal. The existing eddy current sensor works as measuring variance of sensor coil's inductance. But, sensor coil have phenomenon that not only inductance but also real resistance varies in real action. Conductivity and Permeability are main variable in sensor coil's varying impedance(inductance, real resistance). By searching relationship between conductivity-permeability and sensor coil's impedance, eddy current sensor gain advantage of elevation of accuracy, removal of alignment to each base metal, and continuous sensing to varying base metal.

제주외항 2단계 항만시설 설계

  • 제주 외항의 2단계 항만시설 사업으로 동방파제, 동방파호안, 접안시설, 친수호안, 접속호안 등 2,374m 구간에 대해 방파제 내파 안정성과 반사파 저감을 위한 단면계획을 통해 설계에 반영하였으며 지반 침하 및 지진피해 최소화를 위한 구조물의 사용 및 내구성을 중대시켰으며, 특히 크루저 선박의 본격취항을 대비한 친수공간개념의 도입에 많은 노력을 기울였다. 대상 사업지는 지형적 특성상 복잡한 형태의 고파랑이 작용하므로 방파제의 설계파를 7.3m로 상향조정하였고, 방파제 제간부에 발생하는 충격쇄파압에 대한 안정을 확보하기 위해 소파블록 피복케이슨제를 적용하였다. 제주도가 가지는 국제적 위상에 맞추어 국제미항개발, 레저형 웰빙공간조성 및 제주항이 가지는 자연적 특성을 반영하여 친수 방파제와 호안 및 배후시설의 친환경적인 배려를 최대화 하였다. 해양 생태계 보호를 위하여 해조류 서식지 및 해중림 조성 등 생태복원계획도 수립하였다.

iRTK시스템 정밀도 개선에 대한 연구

  • GPS의 민간수요에 따른 응용분야가 날로 증가함에 따라 중저가 GPS 수신기를 이용한 실시간 정밀측위 기술의 필요성이 점차 부각되고 있다. 이에 한국천문연구원은 iRTK 기법을 이용한 준 실시간 정밀측위 시스템을 개발한 바 있다. 반송파 위상데이터를 이용한 정밀측위는 모호수를 결정해야하는 어려움이 있고 특히 짧은 시간 내에 정확한 모호수를 찾는 것은 쉽지 않다. 본 연구는 한국천문연구원이 개발한 iRTK시스템의 자료처리능력을 향상시키기 위한 것으로 실시간 모호수 결정 알고리즘 개발에 중점을 두었다. 이를 위해 2003년 7월부터 9월 사이에 실험이 이루어졌고 중저가 GPS 수신기를 이용해 측정한 데이터를 모호수 결정 알고리즘으로 구한 값과 이미 알고 있는 정밀좌표 값을 비교 분석하였다. 새로운 모호수 결정 알고리즘을 이용해 구한 결과 값이 기존의 iRTK시스템 결과보다 정밀하고 안정적으로 산출됨을 알 수 있었다. 개선된 모호수 결정 알고리즘은 iRTK시스템의 준 실시간 자료처리부분에 적용할 수 있도록 보완할 것이다.
