As the secure distribution and sharing of information over the World Wide Web becomes increasingly important, the needs for flexible and efficient support of access control systems naturally arise. Since the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is emerging as the de-facto standard format of the Internet era for storing and exchanging information, there have been recently, many proposals to extend the XML model to incorporate security aspects. To the lesser or greater extent, however, such proposals neglect the fact that the data for XML documents will most likely reside in relational databases, and consequently do not utilize various security models proposed for and implemented in relational databases. In this paper, we take a rather different approach. We explore how to support security models for XML documents by leveraging on techniques developed for relational databases considering object perspective. More specifically, in our approach, (1) Users make XML queries against the given XML view/schema, (2) Access controls for XML data are specified in the relational database, (3) Data are stored in relational databases, (4) Security check and query evaluation are also done in relational databases, and (5) Controlling access control is executed considering XML tree levels

지난해부터 인터넷 분야에서 가장 확실한 수익 모델을 갖춘 사업 분야로 e-Learning 분야가 손꼽히면서 많은 온라인 교육 서비스가 우후죽순처럼 등장해 이미 1,000여 개의 서비스가 각축을 벌이고 있다. 그러나 e-Learning은 무엇보다도 학습용 컨텐츠의 품질이 그 성패를 좌우한다 할 때 한국의 온라인 학습 컨텐츠의 품질은 부실하기 이를 데 없다는 게 중론이다. 이는 S/W 공학에서 S/W 품질 보장을 위해 개발 방법론이 중요한 것으로 인식되는 것과 이를 지원하기 위한 Method II등 여러 도구들이 보급되고 있는데 비해 학습 컨텐츠는 그 중요도와 개발이 복잡하고 정교함이 요구됨에도 불구하고 개발 방법론에 대한 인식과 개발방법론을 지원하기 위한 도구가 없음에 기인하는바 크다 할 수 있겠다. 아직까지 국내에서는 MacroMedia Director나 ToolBook, Authorware등 일반적인 저작 도구나 웹 기반의 컨텐츠를 제작하는 Dreamweaver등의 HTML Editor만 있으면 컨텐츠가 만들어 질 수 있는 것으로 착각하고 있는 경우가 많다. 교육 학습용 컨텐츠의 개발 주기를 살펴보면 요구 분석->교수 설계->저작->평가->배포의 단계를 거치게 되는데 이때 학습 컨텐츠의 품질은 사실 요구 분석과 교수 설계 단계에서 결정되게 되며 이 학습 컨텐츠의 품질을 결정하는 단계에서는 IT 분야 지식보다는 오히려 교육 공학적 지식이 더욱 요구된다. 그러나 현실적으로 이 단계의 절차적 복잡성과 전문성으로 인해 거의 대부분의 학습 컨텐츠들이 제대로 개발 주기를 거치지 못하고 검증되지 않은 스토리 보드에 의한 저작 단계로 바로 돌입하고 있는 것이 한국의 실정이라 하겠다. 따라서 본 프로젝트에 의해 개발 된 교수 설계 도구는 교육/학습 컨텐츠의 품질 보증을 위한 방법론인 교육 공학의 체제적 교수 설계 이론 Model (Instructional System Design Model), 특히 그 중에서도 이 분야의 사실상의 표준 이론(de facto standard)인 Dick & Carey 교수와 Gagne 교수의 인지주의 ISD Model을 기반으로 정교한 교수 설계와 코스 맵 설계를 가능하게 함으로써 학습 컨텐츠의 품질 보증 활동을 지원 할 수 있는 도구로 개발하였다. 특히 Linux 기반에서 PHP로 개발 함으로써 Platform에 구애받지 않은 사용 환경을 구현 하였으며 향후 많은 e-Learning Platform에 교수 설계 모듈로 장착 함으로써 기존의 e-Learning Platform들의 가치를 높일 수 있는 계기가 될 것으로 생각한다.

Ontologies are the core components of the Semantic Web and knowledge-based systems. But it is difficult to find useful ontologies in actual domains. In order to build useful domain ontology, the conceptualization of the domain knowledge by knowledge experts of the specific domain and the specification of conceptualized knowledge with formal languages by ontology designers are required. In addition, structured and detailed guidelines and methods should be provided to be shared by the development team members. However, existing ontology building methodologies define and describe the skeletal structure of the whole building process at the top-layer. We build a useful academic ontology that is based on the conceptual knowledge structure in the domain of philosophy, and propose a detailed methodology to build a text ontology based on Topic Maps. Our methodology consists of two phases, ontology modelling and ontology implementation. We implement a philosophy knowledge portal to support retrieving and navigating of the philosophy knowledge.

Recently, the advent of World-Wide-Web(WWW) and the explosive popularity of the Internet gave birth to collaborative applications which were enabled by computers and networks as their primary media. The progress of 3D computer graphics enabled collaborative application with 3D virtual environments or distributed virtual environments. In this paper, we explain our implementation of the Share collaboration engine which is for collaboration applications based on a distributed virtual environment. We introduce Virtual Architectural Engineering 2000 (VAE2000) that is our pilot application implemented with the Share collaboration engine. The Share collaboration engine proposes a new Share network architecture for management of participants, and it provides some synchronization methods for 3D objects in virtual collaboration. VAE2000 is an experimental application that tries to prevent wastes of human, material and time resources in networked virtual collaboration.

Collaborative filtering has been most widely used in commercial sites to recommend items based on the history of user preferences for items. The basic idea behind this method is to find similar users whose ratings for items are incorporated to make recommendations for new items. Hence, similarity calculation is most critical in recommendation performance. This paper presents a new similarity measure that takes each rating of a user relatively to his own ratings. Extensive experiments revealed that the proposed measure is more reliable than the classic measures in that it significantly decreases generation of extreme similarity values and its performance improves when consulting neighbors with high similarites only. In particular, the results show that the proposed measure is superior to the classic ones for datasets with large rating scales.

This paper focuses on listening test and acoustic analysis of patients' speech with velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI) and normal speakers' simulation speech. In this research, a set consisting of 50-words, vowels and single syllables is determined for speech database construction. A web-based listening evaluation system is developed for a convenient/automated evaluation procedure. The analysis results show the trend of incorrect recognition for VPI speech and the one for simulation speech are similar. Such similarity is also confirmed by comparing the formant locations of vowel and spectrum of consonant sounds. These results show that the simulation method for VPI speech is effective at generating the speech signals similar to actual VPI patient's speech. It is expected that the simulation speech data can be effectively employed for our future work such as acoustic model adaptation.

Smart Airport which applies the new ICT technologies to the airport is a future airport to provide convenient and safe services for passengers who are airport users, and promote the efficient management of the airport system in point of airport operator's view. The ranges of smart airport include the overall area of the airport like land side, terminal, and air side. In this paper, we propose a technical solution for airport process of terminal providing passenger convenience in various ranges for smart airport realization. Self-service such as web or mobile check-in, self check-in/tagging/back drop/boarding etc. should be strengthened to smartize the airport process and technologies such as automatic immigration, smart security search and automatic AI-based baggage search should be applied. In this paper, we explain the concept of smart airport and smart process, and then propose technical considerations.

Continuously 4 generation to 3 Gs, Wibro Wireless network technology of communications a LTE technology from that is constructed, environment for Ubiquitous realization is being constructed fast. Therefore, in this paper it can inquire state of electronic, furniture devices through apartment complex web server and gear that control groove network at smart phone, and control, and confirms home state prevention of crimes state, and video inquiry of position that CCTV is placed in apartment complex was available. And it proposed integrated smart apartment with parking system and medical system using RFID system in ubiquitous environment.

To improve performance, most of Web Services produce and manage User Access Logs. Through the Access Logs, the record provides information about time when the most traffic happens and logs and which resource is mostly used. Then, the log can be used to analyze. However, in case of increasing high traffics of Web Services at the specific time, the performance of Web Service leads to deterioration because the number of processing User Access Logs is increasing rapidly. To solve this problem, we should improve the system performance, or tuning is needed, but it makes a problem cost a lot of money. Also, after it happens, it is not necessary to build such system by spending extra money. Therefore, this paper described the effective Web Service's performance as using improved User Access Log performance. Also, to process the newest data in bulk, this paper includes a method applying some parts of NoSQL using Redis.

The OSGi framework is a java-based service platform that can be remotely managed, providing an application life cycle management model, a service registry and an execution environment. Based on the framework, various OSGi layers, APIs, and services have been defined. A bundle is an application that can be executed in the OSGi framework, deployed through a bundle repository. Usually, bundles in the repository are accessible via a designated web page. Unfortunately, the current bundle repositories do not provide any kind of group access services and dynamic bundle installation and deployment. In this paper, we describe a WebDAV-Based OSGi bundle repository named WOBR, which supports effective group-based accesses. WOBR is composed of a WOBR bundle repository, a management bundle and an access bundle that interact with the bundle repository. The management bundle is for configuration of the WOBR bundle repository, managing group access facility to the repository. The access bundle provides access to the repository and search mechanism for the bundles. Additionally, it provides the life cycle management of the installed bundles on the local environment.
