Mesh Simplification for Volume and Boundary Preservation (볼륨과 경계보존을 고려한 메쉬 간략화)

  • 대부분의 3차원 모델을 가시화해주기 위한 시스템들은 삼각 메쉬를 기반으로 한 모델 표현법을 사용하고 있다. 이러한 시스템들은 복잡한 3차원 모델을 원격 엑세스할 때에는 모델을 가공하지 않으면 전송 및 랜더링시에 많은 제약이 따른다. 이러한 전송 시간과 랜더링 시간, 저장공간을 줄이기 위해 모델을 간략화하거나 압축하는 많은 기법들이 소개되어져 왔다. 본 논문에서는 메쉬 간략화를 위해 소개되어진 많은 다른 방법에서 사용한 에지 축약(Edge Collapse) 기반의 간략화 알고리즘을 제시한다. 기본적인 접근 방법으로는 기하학적인 메쉬 구성요소들 중에서 에지의 특성에 따라 제거 기준을 설정한 후 간략화해 나간다. 에지 축약을 위한 우선순위와 축약 이후 새로운 정점의 위치는 원본 모델을 참조하지 않고 간략화 단계의 모델에서 삼각형의 연결성(connectivity)과 정점의 위치만을 이용하여 계산하였다. 실제 이 방법은 방대한 다각형 메쉬를 간략화할 경우 메모리를 효율적으로 이용할 수 있으며, 처리 속도를 개선할 수 있다. 또한, 간략화이후에도 원본 모델의 위상(topology)을 유지할 수 있는 기법을 제시하고 있다. 세가지 모델에 대한 실험 결과에서 기하학적 에러(geometric error)를 최소화하였고, Heckbert가 제안한 방법(QSlim V2.0)과의 비교에서는 처리 속도가 개선되었다.

  • An aging Society solitary life old mans are increasing. The nurses have to visit old mans and must confirm their disease, because they do not act well. It is very difficult to take care old man, because the number of Nurses are small. This problem is solved by collection of data about condition of old mans from long distance. Data communication with Ethernet have benefit to collection of measurement of old man's condition. The Data storage system an long distance place are storaged data and after several day data was transmitted to the DB over the Ethernet. For Miniaturization of such system the system must be OS-less Embedded Ethernet Server system. Such system manages the file management system only with H/W. The Storage device is used SD-card. SD Card is small size and operates with small power. By using 512MB sd memory card, it is possible to storage during 5~6 years, 10 byte of temperature value per second. In this paper, we make a Embedded Ethernet Server using W3100A, Atmega128 MCU and data stroage device using SD-Card. This system operates with O/S-less Embedded Ethernet Server. We talk about file System, Storage and Ethernet. We explained about MCU Atmega128, Interface between LAN LSIand W3100A, Interface between W3100A and Phyceiver RTL8201, data I/O between MCU and SD-Card and File System. We shows the experiment device and result of monitoring.

  • 폐쇄적 무선망 및 단말 플랫폼의 개방화 추세에 따라 이동통신사업자(MNO)는 자사 고객 retention 및 신규 수익창출을 위해 다양한 전략을 수립하고 있다. 그리고 고객은 이러한 개방 환경에서 이동통신사업자(MNO)의 단말 및 망에 구애받지 않고 자신의 개인정보 및 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 서비스를 편리하게 이용하기를 원하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 와이브로(WiBro)가입자 인증을 위해 단말에 필수 탑재되는 UICC 에 웹 기능 및 대용량 메모리 기술을 추가하여 이를 기반으로 개인화 서비스 제공을 위한 인프라 구축 사례를 살펴본다. 먼저, UICC 기반 개인화 서비스 인프라를 구성하는 UICC 및 단말에서 구현되어야 할 SCWS 및 대용량 메모리 처리 기술을 소개하고 이를 위한 기술 요구사항을 정의한다. 그리고, 해당 UICC 및 단말을 원격에서 관리하기 위해 플랫폼에서 구현하여야 할 제어 프로토콜 기술을 살펴보고, 이를 위한 기술 요구사항을 정의한다. 다음으로 최종적으로 구축된 전체 시스템의 구성 및 서비스 흐름을 기술하고, 끝으로 이러한 인프라를 통하여 제공될 수 있는 개인화 서비스를 소개하고 향후 방향을 소개함으로써 글을 맺는다.

A Study on the Tele-controller System of Navigational Aids Using Hybrid Communication (하이브리드 통신을 이용한 항로표지의 원격관리 제어시스템에 관한 연구)

  • A fabricated hybrid control board using multi-communication is designed with a low power 8-bit microcontroller, ATxmega128A1. The microcontroller consists of 8 UART (Universal asynchronous receiver/transmitter) ports, 2 kbytes EEPROM, 128 kbytes flash memory, 8 kbytes SRAM. The 8 URAT ports are used for a multi-communication modem, a GPS module, etc. The EEPROM is used for saving a configuration for running programs, and the flash memory of 128 kbytes is used for storing a F/W (Firm Ware), and the 8 kbytes SRAM is used for stack and for storing memory of global variables while running programs. If we use the multi-communication of CDMA, TRS and RF to remotely control Aid to Navigation, it is able to remove the communication shadow area. Even though there is a shadow area for an individual communication method, we can select an optimal communication method. The compatibility of data has been enhanced as using of same data frame per communication device. For the test, 8640 of data have been collected from each buoy during 30 days in every 5 minutes and the receiving rate of the data has shown more than 85 %.

Design and Implementation of 3D Studio Max Plug-In in Collaborative Systems (협력시스템에서 3D 스튜디오 맥스 플러그인 설계 및 개발)

  • Collaborative systems allow users, who may be far removed from each other geographically, to do collaborative work such as 3D animation, computer game, and industrial design in a single virtual space. This paper describes our experience to develop a collaborative system framework that aims at expanding the some functions of a stand-alone visual modeling tool, called 3D Studio Max, into those of the distributed collaborative working environments. The paper mainly deals with design and implementation of a 3D shared-object Plug-In with respect to the 3D Studio Max Plug-In Software Development Kit in the distributed collaborative system developed by the authors. There are two major functions of the proposed scheme; one is to write 3D object-information to the shared memory after extracting it from the 3D Studio Max, the other is to create 3D objects after retrieving them from the shared memory. Also, the proposed scheme provides a simple way of storing 3D objects that have variable size, by means of shared memory which located in between the collaborative system clients and 3D studio Max. One of the remarkable virtures of the Plug-In is to reduce a considerable amount of shared object data which in consequence can mitigate the network overhead. This can be achieved by the fact that the system is able to extract a minimum amount of 3D objects that are required to transmit. Also, using the proposed scheme, user can facilitate 3D Studio Max into distributed collaborative working environments. This, in consequence give many benefits such as saving time as well as eliminating space constraints in the course of 3D modeling when we are under industrial design process.

  • In the OR-parallel execution of logic programs, binding environments have a critical impact on the performance. Particularly, this is true for distributed execution on parallel systems with a non-single address space. The reason is that in such systems, the remote accesses across processing elements deteriorate the performance. To solve this problem, some binding methods were previously proposed specifically for a non-single address space. However, compared with the binding methods for a single address space, they are far less efficient due to the overhead of newly introduced operations such as environment closing and back-unification, In this paper, we propose a new binding environment is a hybrid that combines both the binding methods for a single address space and those for anon-single address space. It acomplishes high efficiency by making closing operations unnecessary both at unification and at back-unification, while mainthing the restricted accesses.

  • Recent advance in the satellite-based remote sensing technology demands abilities to efficiently processthe massive satellite data. In thisstudy, we focused on developing GOCI Products Reprocessing System (GPRS) based on server virtualization and distributed processing in order to efficiently reprocess massive GOCI data. Experimental results revealed that GPRS allows raising the usage rates of memory and central processing unit (CPU) up to about 100% and 75%, respectively. This meansthat the proposed system enables us to save the hardware resources and increase the work process speed at the same time when we process massive satellite data.

An Algorithm for Stable Video Conference System (안정적인 화상회의 시스템을 위한 알고리즘)

  • In previous video conference system, when the number of participants in video conference increases by n, the bandwidth and memory of n2 is required. And also, it brings about increase in traffic and problem of a say during a conference in aspect of transmission of voice data. In this paper, we propose an algorithm of remote video conference using silence detection algerian to resolve the questions such as buffering method of video data in server and heavy traffic detection algorithm to the increase in participants. Video data buffering algorithm is not a method of broadcasting to other client in the server, but this algorithm uses two other methods; the buffering method of receiving compressed video data from clients and the indexing method for acquiring the video data of other participants in clients according to clients' bandwidth and network transmission speed. We apply a voice transmission algerian and a channel management algorithm to the remote video conference system. The method used in the voice transmission algorithm is a silence detection algorithm which does not send silent participants' voice data to the server. The channel management algorithm is a method allocating a say to the participants who have priority. In consideration of average 20 frames and 30ms regardless of a number of participants, we can safely conclude that the transmission of video and voice data is stable.

Detecting Repackaged Applications using the Information of App Installation in Android Smartphones (안드로이드 스마트폰에서 앱 설치 정보를 이용한 리패키징 앱 탐지 기법)

  • In recently years, repackaged malwares are becoming increased rapidly in Android smartphones. The repackaging is a technique to disassemble an app in a market, modify its source code, and then re-assemble the code, so that it is commonly used to make malwares by inserting malicious code in an app. However, it is impossible to collect all the apps in many android markets including too many apps. To solve the problem, we propose RePAD (RePackaged App Detector) scheme that is composed of a client and a remote server. In the smartphone-side, the client extracts the information of an app with low CPU overhead when a user installs the app. The remote server analyzes the information to decide whether the app is repackaged or not. Thus, the scheme reduces the time and cost to decide whether apps are repackaged. For the experiments, the client and server are implemented as an app on Galaxy TAB and PC respectively. We indicated that seven pairs of apps among ones collected in official and unofficial market are repackaged. Furthermore, RePAD only increases the average of CPU overhead of 1.9% and the maximum memory usage of 3.5 MB in Galaxy TAB.

Analysis of System Performance of Change the Ring Architecture on Dual Ring CC-NUMA System (이중 링 CC-NUMA 시스템에서 링 구조 변화에 따른 시스템 성능 분석)

  • Since NUMA architecture has to access remote memory an interconnection network determines the performance of CC-NUMA system Bus which has been used as a popular interconnection network has many limits to build a large-scale system because of the limited physical scalabilty and bandwidth Dual ring interconnection network composed of high speed point-to-point links is made up for resolving the defects of the bus for large-scale system But it also has a problem that the response latency is rapidly increased when many node are attached to snooping based CC-NUMA system with dual ring In this paper we propose a chordal ring architecture in order to overcome the problem of the dual ring on snooping based CC-NUMA system and design and efficient link controller adopted to this architecture. We also analyze the effects of chordal ring architecture on the system performance and the response latency by using probability driven simulator.
