원자력기술의 자립:고리원자력 1호기 준공

  • 고리원자력 1호기는 70년대 초 원자력의 제반기술, 인력, 관련산업 등 산업환경이 취약하였던 시절에 미국 웨스팅하우스사의 계약자 주도형 방식에 의해 건설되어 1978년 4월 상업운전을 개시한 국내 최초의 원자력 발전소이다. 건설당시 원전건설 경험부족과 국내 관련산업 기반의 취약성 때문에 한전 등 국내 업체가 참여할 수 있는 분야는 제한적이었으나 한전은 고리원자력 1호기의 건설에 참여함으로써 시공과 사업관리 등 건설기술을 외국 업체를 통하여 습득할 수 있었으며 이후 후속기 건설을 통하여 기술을 축적함으로써 현재에는 한국 표준형 원전을 북한에 건설할 수 있는 기술적 자립기반을 갖추는데 중요한 전기가 되었다. 한편 최초원전으로서 설비상의 문제점을 지속적인 설비개선과 철저한 예방정비 및 운영관리로 극복하고 1997년 3월 한주기무고장운전을 달성함으로써 원전 운영기술 축적 및 도약의 전기를 마련하는 등 국내 최초의 원자력 발전소로서 국내 원전기술의 자립을 이룩하는데 주요한 역할을 하여왔음은 주지의 사실이다. 우리나라 원자력산업이 여명기를 거쳐 도입과 정착과정을 통해 고리원자력 1호기가 국내 원전기술 자립에 기여한 과정을 조명해 보고자 한다.

Analysis of Autonomous Driving Vehicle and Korea's Competitiveness Strategy (자율주행차 현황분석과 한국의 경쟁력 확보 전략)

  • In Korea, partial self-driving feature is added on Genesis G80, Tivoli 2017, and others, and full implementation is under evaluation. Tesla already completed test for full self-driving car, Tesla Model 'X'. Further adoption of self-driving car in market will bring benefits to the elderly and disabled, meanwhile traffic accident will be decreased. However, related regulations for traffic accident with autonomous car including ethical responsibility is not fully established yet. In addition, security and privacy issue of self-driving cars should be improved as well. In this paper, domestic researches and analysis status on autonomous car will be summarized, and proper activation model will be proposed for the previously described issues.

A Study of Driver Test Station-based on Driver Behaviors Assessment: from 20s to 70s (운전운동평가-기반 연령별 운전자 행태 분석 연구: 20대부터 70대까지)

  • Driving behaviors are reported to be vulnerable to safe driving in unexpected situations or driving in the city due to deterioration of physical and cognitive functions in elderly drivers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in driving behaviors according to age of self-drivers and to identify changes in physical function related to driving caused by normal aging. The subjects of the study included 75 healthy adults (21 persons aged 20-39 years, 40 persons 40-64 years, 14 persons 65 years old) who were self-driving and possessed a driver's license. Data included sex, dominant hand, medication, exercise, age, and driving time obtained by a self-reported questionnaire. In addition, this study measured steering, acceleration and braking using a Driver Test Station. Results of the study showed there was no significant difference in power test according to age group, but the total time of the timer test and the emergency brake test significantly differed according to age. The timer test and emergency brake test were completed fastest in young adults between 20 and 39 years old and completed slowest in elderly people 65 years old or over. Based on our study results, it is suggested that normal aging affects the perceptual-cognitive processes associated with driving behaviors.

A Method of Detecting the Aggressive Driving of Elderly Driver (노인 운전자의 공격적인 운전 상태 검출 기법)

  • Aggressive driving is a major cause of car accidents. Previous studies have mainly analyzed young driver's aggressive driving tendency, yet they were only done through pure clustering or classification technique of machine learning. However, since elderly people have different driving habits due to their fragile physical conditions, it is necessary to develop a new method such as enhancing the characteristics of driving data to properly analyze aggressive driving of elderly drivers. In this study, acceleration data collected from a smartphone of a driving vehicle is analyzed by a newly proposed ECA(Enhanced Clustering method for Acceleration data) technique, coupled with a conventional clustering technique (K-means Clustering, Expectation-maximization algorithm). ECA selects high-intensity data among the data of the cluster group detected through K-means and EM in all of the subjects' data and models the characteristic data through the scaled value. Using this method, the aggressive driving data of all youth and elderly experiment participants were collected, unlike the pure clustering method. We further found that the K-means clustering has higher detection efficiency than EM method. Also, the results of K-means clustering demonstrate that a young driver has a driving strength 1.29 times higher than that of an elderly driver. In conclusion, the proposed method of our research is able to detect aggressive driving maneuvers from data of the elderly having low operating intensity. The proposed method is able to construct a customized safe driving system for the elderly driver. In the future, it will be possible to detect abnormal driving conditions and to use the collected data for early warning to drivers.

The most light-susceptible material shouid be illu~stratrui less than 50[k] (illurnlnance-hours per year : 120, 000k.h)and the illuminance of moderately sensitive rriatcrinl k 200[1x] (illuminance hours per year : 480, 0001x.h). Moreover to minimize damage the sources of light shoulcl not only contribute as little as heat possible but remove ultraviolt radiation by filters. Also the sources of light must have good color rendering and low color temperature.

  • 블랙아이스는 눈에 쉽게 구분되지 않아 많은 교통사고를 초래하고 있다. 한국교통연구원 교통사고분석시스템에 따르면, 2017년부터 2021년까지 5년간의 서리/결빙으로 인한 교통사고 사망자는 122명, 적설로 인한 교통사고 사망자는 40명으로, 블랙아이스는 적설에 비해 위험성이 높은 것으로 나타난다. 과거의 다양한 연구에서 블랙아이스 생성조건을 기압과 한기 축적등의 조건에서 예측해왔지만, 이러한 기상학적 모델은 봄철 해빙기의 일교차로 인한 눈의 해동과 재냉각과 같은 다양한 기상 조건에서의 블랙아이스 탐지가 어렵다는 한계가 있어 최근에는 이미지 판별과 딥러닝모델(YOLO 등)을 기반으로 한 센서가 제시되고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 방법은 충분한 컴퓨팅 자원이 뒷받침되어야 하며, 블랙아이스 탐지까지 걸리는 속도가 빠르지 못한 편으로, 블랙아이스 초입 구간에서의 제동에 취약하다는 잠재적인 약점을 가지고 있다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 블랙아이스의 주 원인인 서리나 어는비가 발생하기 위해서 주변 공기가 이슬점 온도 이하, 노면온도와 이슬점이 어는점보다 낮아야 함을 이용, IoT 센서 모듈을 통해 Magnus 방정식으로 계산한 이슬점 온도와 노면 온도를 사용하는 이동식 블랙아이스 추정 장치를 제시한다. 본 장치는 대기압, 온도, 습도로부터 계산된 이슬점 온도와 노면 온도를 통한 서리발생 가능성과 대기 온도, 노면 온도를 통해 어는비의 발생환경 여부를 계산한다. 본 연구 결과를 통해 블랙아이스 추정과 기상정보 생산을 동시에 가능케 하며, 추정 결과를 통합 수집서버에 전송함으로서 운전자에게 전방 블랙아이스 위험 구간을 조기에 전달하는 시스템과 이를 관리하기 위한 인프라를 구축하여 운전 시 결빙 미끄러짐 사고를 저감하고자 한다.

The Improvement of Electrical Point Machine Wiring Set (선로전환기(NS)의 배선세트 개선)

  • An Electrical Point Machine (NS:New-type Switch), which is equipped and operated at railways in Korea, has been used since the 1960s after being imported from Japan. On the other hand, although the mechanical configuration has improved the position motor control circuit, the electrical connection has not been improved, so NS may have a problem, such as the interlocking system of automatic train operation. In addition, NS is the most vulnerable part in the railway system and a huge train accident may occur due to minor defects. The existing NS wiring set of the circuit controller should be checked only if fixed. Therefore, an excessive inspection time only by a Railroad Signal expert is required. In this paper, the improvement of electrical connection in a NS wiring set, such as the position motor control circuit, was developed and the prototype was installed at Seoul Metro in the distance to go section. The results can be used to help make appropriate adjustments. The improvement of the NS wiring set enhance the maintenance efficiency, passenger service and the stability of the signal system as well as reducing the maintenance cost.

An Experimental Environment for Simulation of Stealthy Deception Attack in CPS Using PLCitM (PLC in the Middle) (중간자 PLC를 이용한 CPS 은닉형 공격 실험환경 구축 방안)

  • Cyber-Physical System (CPS) is a system in which a physical system and a cyber system are strongly integrated. In order to operate the target physical system stably, the CPS constantly monitors the physical system through the sensor and performs control using the actuator according to the current state. If a malicious attacker performs a forgery attack on the measured values of the sensors in order to conceal their attacks, the cyber system operated based on the collected data can not recognize the current operation status of the physical system. This causes the delay of the response of the automation system and the operator, and then more damage will occur. To protect the CPS from increasingly sophisticated and targeted attacks, countermeasures must be developed that can detect stealthy deception attacks. However, in the CPS environment composed of various heterogeneous devices, the process of analyzing and demonstrating the vulnerability to actual field devices requires a lot of time. Therefore, in this study, we propose a method of constructing the experiment environment of the PLCitM (PLC in the middle) which can verify the performance of the techniques to detect the CPS stealthy deception attack and present the experimental results.

Analysis of Accident Characteristics and Improvement Strategies of Flash Signal-operated Intersection in Seoul (서울시 점멸신호 운영에 따른 교통사고 분석 및 개선방안에 관한 연구)

  • Traffic accident frequency and severity level in Korea are known to be very serious. Especially the number of pedestrian fatalities was much worse and 1.6 time higher than the OECD average. According to the National Police Agency, the flash signals are reported to have many safety benefits as well as travel time reduction, which is opposed to the foreign studies. With this background of expanding the flash signal, this research aims to investigate the overall impact of the flash signal operation on safety, investigating and comparing the accident occurrence on the flash signal and the full signal intersections. For doing this accident prediction models for both flash and full signal intersections were estimated using independent variables (geometric features and traffic volume) and 3-year (2011-2013) accident data collected in Seoul. Considering the rare and random nature of accident occurrence and overdispersion (variance > mean) of the data, the negative binomial regression model was applied. As a result, installing wider crosswalk and increasing the number of pedestrian push buttons seemed to increase the safety of the flash signal intersections. In addition, the result showed that the average accident occurrence at the flash signal intersections was higher than at the full signal-operated intersections, 9% higher with everything else the same.
