  • Recently, the electronic commerce(EC), driven by the development of Internet, has been one of the most important interests. Physical distribution in EC is one of the most important factors. Logistics will be one of the most important industries in the 21st century. Logistics, especially in related to EC presents enormous potential opportunities for logistics Companies. However, logistics companies in Korea still don't have international competitive and effective strategies for customer in compare with leading international logistics companies. So it is needed to study development strategies of logistics companies in Korea against leading international logistics companies. Logistics companies in Korea is able to learn from practical experience of logistics companies in developed country by benchmarking studies.   • Competitiveness of container ports has been traditionally evaluated by capability of individual ports to provide services to customers or their service quality. However, since container ports are connected by container shipping networks to varying degrees, the status of the ports in liner shipping service networks also determines competitiveness of the ports. Sometimes same ports may play different roles in different forms of shipping networks. Shipping network connections that formulate in container ports therefore have more significant impact on their performance than service capabilities they have. This study aims to explore how the shipping and port network has been structured and changed in the past and to examine the network characteristics of ports using Social Network Analysis(SNA). In this SNA study, nodes in the network are the ports-of-call of the liner shipping services and links in the network are connections realized by vessel movements, such that the liner shipping networks determine the port networks. This study, therefore, investigates the liner shipping networks and through its results demonstrates the network characteristics of the ports that are represented by the four centrality indices. This provides port authorities and terminal operating companies with managerial implications to enhance competitiveness from customers' perspectives.

  • In 1997, 180 countries signed the Kyoto Protocol in Kyoto, Japan. The Kyoto Protocol came into force in February 2005. The agreement calls for industrialized nations to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 5 percent from 1990 levels by 2008 to 2012. One of those polices is a modal shift that change from road freight to sea, inland waterway and railroad transportation that is eco-friendly. The increase of road freight brings road congestion, accidents, logistic costs, air pollution and greenhouse gases. Railroads are superior than the other modes of transportation in mass transportability, high speed, timeliness, safety and environmental-friendliness, but the railway industry has been pushed behind in competition. Korean railroads were used by passengers and freight transport popularly until the middle of 20th century, however, by the sudden change of logistics environments, a shaving time efficiency being most important, railroad logistic lost its competitive power against the transportation by truck. From the research which sees consequently investigated a various policy, a system and a law about Chinese logistics industry and present condition of the Chinese goods enterprise and instance analysis of the large Chinese corporation that branch out to undeveloped markets led and a Chinese logistics industry and problem point escape hereafter the heightening of competitiveness plan which is rational under prsenting boil.

A Monitoring Strategy on Dispersion of Particulate Matter emitted from Domestic Limestone Open Pit Mines (국내 노천 석회석 광산먼지 확산 모니터링 방안)

  • This study proposed a strategy with literature review on effective monitoring of dispersion of the particulate matters (PM) emitted from domestic open pit lime mines. The mines generally produced a large amount of PM through the mine processes such as crushing and transportation of raw or crushed ores. The PM emission from mine facilities or transportation can be assessed using empirical equations which was prepared through the experimental tests to produce PM from ores. For effective monitoring of mine PM dispersion, this study showed a preliminary application of the monitoring network with multiple low-cost sensors around a main PM emission source for each mine site. Therefore, two domestic limestone mine sites were selected for this study, and install the monitoring network with low-cost PM sensors and LTE (Long-term evolution) data communication. Then, preliminary resultant PM data plotted according to monitoring duration showed typical PM dispersion patterns. The quantification of the PM dispersion patterns should be roughly prepared by a PM size-dependent dispersion modeling.

  • In accordance with low carbon and green growth paradigm, a subway is one of major public transit systems for resolving traffic congestion and decreasing traffic accidents. In addition, as subway networks expand, passengers' travel pattern in the subway network change and consequently affect the urban structure. Generally, new subway route has been planned and developed, mainly considering a travel demand forecast. However, it is desired to conduct an empirical analysis on the forecast model regarding change of travel accessibility and passenger demand pattern according to new subway line. Therefore, in this paper, an alternative method, developed based upon a spatial syntax model, is proposed for evaluating new subway route in terms of passenger's mobility and network accessibility. In a case study, we constructed subway network data, mainly targeting the no 9 subway line opened in 2009. With an axial-map analysis, we calculated spatial characteristics to describe topological movement interface. We then analyzed actual modal shift and change on demand of passengers through the number of subway passenger between subway stations and the number of passenger according to comparative bus line from Smart Card to validate suggested methods. Results show that the proposed method provides quantitative means of visualizing passenger flow in subway route planning and of analyzing the time-space characteristics of network. Also, it is expected that the proposed method can be utilized for predicting a passengers' pattern and its impact on public transportation.

  • The 119 emergency rescue-aid service operated by Korean government is a very valuable in a society and its importance is growing in Korea as an aging society. Especially, the emergency vehicle's arrival time to accidents place is an important variable which affects initial emergency measure for patients and it depends on the road network attributes, such as emergency service station's location, accessibility to accidents place and so on. This study aims to analysis the emergency vehicles' arrival delay and the dispatch station in the viewpoint of efficiency utilizing the real rescue-aid activity data. We analyzed the dispatch distribution of the emergency rescue-aid service at first. And we analyzed high accident rate locations not involved in the fixed radius of rescue-aid service stations and display GIS map showing regions have been delayed. The input data of the road network speed is based on the KTDB (Korea Transportation Database) and historical rescue-aid data is from Gyeongsangbuk-do's fire service headquarters.

  • The drone delivery service as a new important business is emerging worldwide. American DHL parcel service is already running the delivery business using drones, and the Google, Amazon, and china's Alibaba, Baidu are also preparing for the same business. However, there are some problems in security and safety since the heavy parcels flies over the people walking down streets, so many things must be considered. The problems can be solved by communicating among drones to avoid collision. Therefore, the efficient network performance is essential, and to resolve the problem, in this paper, an efficient routing protocol is suggested by the Opnet simulator. The drone intercommunication network of MANET is designed and simulated for the efficient routing protocol.

  • 수송용 섬유소재는 자동차, 항공기 또는 선박 등의 교통 및 운송 분야에 기여하는 사용되는 섬유소재를 말하며, 내장재, 각종 호스류, 벨트류, 타이어, 안전용품, 필터류 등을 포함하고 일반적으로 섬유, 발포체, 고무, 플라스틱, 접착제 등 유기소재가 결합된 복합체이다. 기존 섬유기술의 혁신과 더불어 IT, NT, BT, ET 등 첨단 기술과의 융합에 의한 고성능 극한 슈퍼섬유, 나노 복합섬유 등의 신소재를 개발하여 산업 전반에서 플라스틱의 금속소재 대체수요를 증가시키고 산업자재의 고성능화, 고기능화, 다양화를 이루기 위해 다양한 노력이 진행하고 있다. 현재 수송용 섬유소재 산업은 기술의 연결고리가 부족하며, 선도기업 및 원천기술이 부족하며, 자동차용 섬유부품소재 관련 기업의 역량도 부족한 실정이다. 이에 광역경제권 연계협력사업을 통해 생산기반의 대경권(대구경북)과 수요중심의 동남권(부산경남)의 네트워크를 강화하여 완성품 업체 및 수요기업과의 네트워킹을 강화하고자 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서 수송용 섬유소재개발, 수송용 친환경 oam-skin 일체형 표피재 개발, 고속성형 복합소재 및 수송용 경량부품 개발, 초경량 고내열 고강도 섬유활용 하이브리드 wire & cable 개발 등 수송용 섬유소재를 개발하고, 또한 수송용 섬유소재의 생산-수요 연계를 통한 투자활성화, 기술개발, 소재 산업 육성을 강화하여, 산학연네트워크구축, 지역 간 협력 및 국제적 협력, 생산-수요기반의 연계협력시스템을 활용한 자립형 수송용 소재 공급기지 완비하는 데 목적이 있다.

해운이슈 - 한국신용평가, '풍전등화 국내 해운업계, 본원적 대책 마련 시급' 발표

  • 발주잔량의 감소와 세계경기 회복기조 등을 감안할 때, 수급여건은 저점에 근접해 있다. 그러나, 해상물동량 증가율의 둔화, 대형선박 위주로 되살아난 발주 등을 감안할 때, 운임지수 등 시황회복은 상대적으로 느리게 진행될 전망이다. 2012년부터 상위선사의 뚜렷한 실적차별화가 나타나고 있으며, 국내선사는 상대적으로 취약한 선종다각화와 자본력, 계열 및 정부의 저조한 지원 등으로 금융위기 이후 재무구조가 가장 큰 폭으로 악화되었다. 상위선사의 실적우위는 일시적 차이가 아닌 선박의 대형화와 높은 연료효율성, 우수한 글로벌 네트워크 등 구조적 원가경쟁력의 차이에 기인하고 있다. 상위 3개 선사는 초대형선박의 추가인수와 P3 Network 구축으로 원가경쟁력이 더욱 향상될 전망이며, 재무여력을 갖춘 경쟁선사들도 선박가격이 낮은 상황에서 고효율의 대형선박을 발주, 원가경쟁력을 제고하고 있다. 반면에 호황기 고가에 선박을 확보한 국내선사는 과중한 재무부담으로 인해 선박대형화와 글로벌 네트워크 구축에 동침하지 못하고 있어 원가경쟁력의 차이는 더욱 심화될 전망이다. 더딘 시황회복과 상위선사의 단위당 운송비(Unit Cost) 하락 등을 감안할 때, 빠른 시일 내에 운임상승을 통한 큰 폭의 성과개선을 기대하기 어렵고, 과중한 재무부담은 투자여력의 위축으로 이어지고 있다. 여기에 중국 유럽선사가 정부로부터 대규모의 직접적 지원(대출, 지급보증)을 제공받고 있는데 반하여, 우리 정부는 장기적 관점의 지원이나 대책을 유보한 채, 제한된 유동성 지원만을 하고 있다. 재무부담에 따른 악순환을 깨고 원가경쟁력을 확보하기 위해선, 비핵심자산 매각, 자본유치 등 구조조정을 통한 재무구조 개선, 투자여력 확보를 통한 글로벌 경쟁력 회복, 정부차원의 지원과 조정 등 가능한 모든 방안을 총 동원하여 재무구조를 개선하고 투지에 나서는 것이 시급하다. 하지만, 불황으로 체력이 소진된 해운사의 자체적인 노력만으로는 한계가 있다. 기간산업의 국가경쟁력 차원에서 국내 선사의 자체노력은 물론, 정부 또는 금융기관 등 유관기관들의 확실한 지원이나 의사결정이 필요한 시점이다. 그렇지 않을 경우 국내 해운산업은 어두운 터널의 끝을 벗어나지 못하고 글로벌 경쟁사와의 격차는 더욱 벌어지게 될 것이다. 다음은 한국신용평가에서 발표한 "풍전등화 국내 해운업계, 본원적 대책 마련 시급"의 주요 내용을 요약 정리한 것이다.

  • Domestic large group logistics company(2nd-party logistics company)has made inroads on large portion of domestic logistics market, whereby the domestic 3rd-party logistics market has been shrinking every year to a level of 30% or so. Global logistics enterprise is steadily increasing 3rd-party global market portion while Local one facing with stagnating growth has very minimal level in the global market share. Fortunately new government strengthening policy change toward local SME and also recent UN's supplying line enlargement to Asia regions are positive factors which make Local SME very positive environments to advance to UN procurement logistics market. On this occasion, the purpose of this paper is to help local logistics company perform successful bidding through study of UN-transportation case and also suggest in SWOT analysis a segmented measure and support policy between Industry, Academia, Government and Institute.
