일반화된 excursion set 이론과 자기 유사 구형 유입(Self-similar spherical infall) 모형에 기반하여 Splashback 질량함수에 대한 해석적 단일 매개변수 모델을 착안하였다. Planck/WMAP7 관측결과를 토대로 구축된 EREBOS N-Body 시뮬레이션의 수치적 결과의 해석적 모델을 이용한 회귀분석을 통해 단일 매개변수이자 Splashback 경계의 확산적 특성을 수치화하는 확산계수(Diffusion Coefficient)의 추정치를 계산하였다. 계산된 확산계수를 적용한 해석적 모델과 수치적 결과가 5 ≤ M/(10¹²h^-1 M_⊙) < 10³의 질량범위에서 매우 근접히 일치하는 것을 보였으며 Baysian and Akaike Information Criterion 검정을 통해 0.3 ≤ z ≤ 3의 범위에서 기존의 모델들보다 본 모델이 선호 돼야함을 확인하였다. 또한 확산계수가 적색편이에 대하여 선형진화에 근접한 변화를 보임을 발견하였으며, 특정 임계 적색편이(z_c)를 기준으로 확산계수가 0에 수렴함을 발견하였다. 더 나아가 두 Planck모델과 WMAP7모델에서 도출된 확산계수는 서로 상당한 차이를 보였다. 이 결과는 암흑물질 헤일로의 splashback 질량함수가 z ≥ z_c에서 매개변수가 없는 온전한 해석적 모델로 설명되고 z_c가 독립적으로 우주의 초기조건을 독립적으로 특정지을 수 있는 가능성을 지님을 시사한다. 이 초록은 The Astrophysical Journal의 Ryu & Lee 2021, ApJ, 917, 98 (arxiv:2103.00730) 논문을 바탕으로 작성되었다.

The importance of satellite data for numerous applications is stressed by the fact that many countries have given the development of space technologies very high priority. Among these, Korea has established a medium-term space development strategy to promote space development both on a scientific as well as commercial level. As part of this strategy, the first operational earth-observation, multi-purpose satellite(KOMPSAT-1) was launched successfully in December, 1999. The Electro-Optical Camera (EOC) on board of KOMPSAT-1 supplies panchromatic images with a spatial resolution of 6.6m Until April, 2004, it collected over 150.000 images of the Korean Peninsula and the rest of the world. This paper examines the use of remote sensing data to analyze urban growth in the city of Daejeon from 1960 to 2003. By using visual interpretation, land use maps are created.

우주론의 표준모형에서는 어느 정도 큰 규모에서 물질의 분포가 균일하고 등방하다고 가정한다. 본 연구는 어떤 규모에서 물질의 분포가 균일한지 은하의 관측 자료를 이용하여 조사하였다. 관측 자료로는 SDSS Data Release 7의 적색편이 값이 0.16에서 0.47사이에 있는 105,831개의 LRGs의 목록을 사용하였다. LRGs의 목록을 이용해서 일정한 적색편이 구간에 있는 은하들을 택하여, 이를 2차원 면으로 간주하고, 각 은하를 중심으로 원을 만들어 원의 면적에 대한 원 내부에 있는 은하들의 개수의 증감을 이용하여 균일성을 조사하였다. 정확한 비교를 위해 LRGs의 목록과 동일한 수의 은하를 무작위적으로 뿌린 Random catalog와 표준모형을 기반으로 만들어진 Horizon Run 3의 N-body simulation 의 결과로부터 얻어낸 halo mock catalog를 각각 비교하였다.

Dynamic analysis of laminated beams with a embedded damping layer under tensional and compressive axial load is investigated. Improved Layer-Wise Zig-Zag Beam Theory and Interdependent Kinematic Relation are incorporated to model the laminated beams with a damping layer and a corresponding beam zig-zag finite element is developed. Flexural frequencies and modal loss factors under tension or compression axial load are calculated based on Complex Eigenvalue Method. The effects of the axial tensional and compressive load on the frequencies and loss factors are discussed.

본 논문에서 필자는 기존의 양상 허구주의의 번역 체계가 가지고 있는 세가지 난점을 극복할 수 있는 양상 허구주의의 새로운 번역 체계를 제시한다. 이 세 난점이란 (1) 많은 세계들의 존재를 받아들이지 않을 수 없게 된다. (2) 세계 간의 비교를 하게 하는 양상 진술문을 제대로 번역할 수 없다 (3) 어떤 양상 진술문에 내해 잘못된 진리치를 부여한다 이다. 이 세 난점을 극복하기 위한 필자의 제안은 세계-양화사의 범위 안에 등장하는 양화사들이 주어진 세계 내의 사물들만을 범위 내에 포함하는 루이스의 초기 번역 체계나 비한정적 양회사를 도입하는 루이스의 후기 번역 체계를 받아들이는 대신, 양화사를 조금씩 조금씩 비한정시키는 (unrestrict) 시키는 것이며, 필지 공식 번역 체계는 우주 (세계)의 부분전체론적 합으르 정의되는 "다우주(muitiverse)"라는 새로운 용어를 도입함으로써 얻어진다. 필자의 공식 번역 체계는 다음과 같다: P가 가능하다 iff PW에 의하면 P가 잠인 다우주가 존재한다 P가 필연적으로 참이다 iff PW에 의하면 모든 다우주에서 P가 참이다 마지막으로 필자는 비한정적인 세계 간의 비교를 하게 하는 양상 진술문을 적절하게 번역하기 위해서 필자의 번역 체계에 약간의 수정을 가한다.

Since the late 1990's, FAA, NASA and the aerospace industry have worked together to develop the sharing system of the composite material qualification databases which were obtained through the standardized fabrication and testing procedures. The result was what is now known as the AGATE(Advanced General Aviation Transport Experiments) or NCAMP(National Center for Advanced Materials Performance) methodology, a more cost-effective concept that shifts the major responsibility for qualification and testing from the aircraft manufacturer to the material supplier. The properties of composite materials are largely dependent on the testing as well as the raw material properties and the manufacturing process including the process control parameters. Thus it is important in the composite material qualification to comply with the standardized testing procedures. In this paper, I will describe the standardized witness methodologies of certification engineers to reduce the effect of testing variability within the qualification data.

The design procedure of Solar Power UAVs is complicated because the configuration and required power for flight must be considered simultaneously as the supplied power is influenced by the wing area. In order to minimize trial and error for the Solar Power UAVs design, a systematic sizing method is proposed which can be used to determine whether a Solar Power UAV is feasible for a given mission, and to derive preliminary dimensional specification of it. The sizing procedure begins with initially assumed wing area because the power, lift, and drag of the wing are directly proportional to it. The assumed wing area and mission requirements are then used to determine step by step the airfoil specifications including lift coefficient and drag coefficient, weight, required power, and wing area. This procedure is iterated for each newly assumed wing area until the error between the assumed wing area and calculated wing area becomes significantly small enough. This sizing methodology was applied to previously developed Solar Power UAVs for validation purposes, resulting in good agreement. The methodology was also applied to determine the dimensions and specifications of the Solar Power High-Altitude Long-Endurance UAV.

En exprimant 'la découverte de l'homme', Valéry, dans la Philosophie de la danse, représente «un plaisir qui allait jusqu'à une sorte d'ivresse, et si intense parfois, qu'un épuisement total de ses forces, une sorte d'extase d'épuisement pouvait seule interrompre son délire, sa dépense motrice exaspérée». Dans le même sens du plaisir, Jayadéva, dans son dithyrambe du Gîta-Govinda, représente la danse de Harî, une des nombreuses formes de Vichnou. Excités par le brûlant désir des jeux de la volupté, Hari et son amante Râdhâ cherchent au cours de la danse Râsa l'énergie vitale. Voilà la source du plaisir mystérieux valéryen. Ensuite l'eau, «élément essentiel de toute vie», est la mesure du temps de même que le soleil, l'eau est le principe de l'harmonie comme celui du monde. Finalement, chez Valéry, sous les diverses infleunces de l'eau mythique, la mer devient l'Océan de lait, soit le lieu de naissance, soit la substance maternelle, soit l'essence da la création universelle. Or tout au long de 「La Dormeuse」, Valéry évoque l'image de 'Vichnou-Narayana' sous l'influence de la mythologie indienne. Et sous une autre influence de Flaubert, Valéry évoque « d'étranges mondes abstraits». Malgré tout, Valéry crée lui-même, dans 「La Dormeuse」, une nouvelle image d'un monde abstrait : 'Vichnou-Narayana' couché sur un lit de lotus, porté par les replis du grand serpent Ananta, qui élève au-dessus du dieu endormi méditant, ses sept têtes formant une éspèce de dais - du sein de Narayana, richement décoré d'un collier d'étoiles et d'une couronne de pierres précieuses en forme de disque, croit un lotus qui porte Brahma dans son calice ; Lakchmi est aux pieds de son divin époux. L'épisode des dieux indiens est à un stade encore plus avancé de la destruction du symbole. Ils sont réduits à des formes symboliques obscures, non commentées et même difficilement identifiables. Le dieu rose qui mord son orteil dans une attitude à la fois mystérieuse et grotesque, c'est Vichnou qui a, selon le vichnouisme, le premier rôle dans la création du monde. Il flottait avant la création sur les eaux, couché sur une feuille de figuier, sous la forme d'un jeune enfant qui porte son pied vers sa bouche. Cette scène évoque la méditation et le repli sur soi de la divinité avant le commencement. Valéry désigne la cosmogonie particulière d'une religion bien déterminée(le vichnouisme) sans la nommer et en la vidant de son sens pouratnt capital, laissant subsister un symbole guetté par le grotesque, un dieu en enfance ; d'autre part, cette cosmogonie est télescopée et intégrée par une cosmogonie d'origine différente : le désemboîtement des trois dieux renvoie à la théorie sivaiste du Lingam, l'arbre de vie. Les dieux de la tirinité iendienne se détachent les un après les autres et il ne reste plus que la fleur sous la garde de Vichnou. Le désemboîtement des dieux paraît bien se référer à cette conception, malgré l'absence du lingam. Enfin toute la forme veille ; et tous les yeux sont ouverts.
