  • An archostematan beetles, Tenomerga mucida (Chevrolat, 1829), belong to the family Cupedidae is reported in Korea for the first time. We provide the diagnostic information based on morphology with microscophic images of the species compared with Tenomerga anguliscutis.

An Evaluation of Cross-National Information and Communication Technology Practices Using Data Envelopment Analysis and Malmquist Index (국가 정보통신기술의 활용성과 평가: 자료포락분석과 맘퀴스트지수 분석을 중심으로)

  • In this study, a comparison has been made among the countries regarding recent ICT practices being performed based on the measures of relative efficiency and productivity growth that use multiple inputs and outputs. Efficiency measures a country's ICT performance relative to a benchmark at a given point of time and productivity measures a country's performance over a period of time. An output-oriented Data Envelopment Analysis and Malmquist Index has been used for comparison among 28 countries over the period 2008-2011 by incorporating 9 variables. The empirical findings disclose gross inefficiencies in national ICT practices, which show that there is room for enhancing output gains through increased efficiency in their operations. In addition, 13 countries have performed better than others in total factor productivity mainly because of their improvement in the underlying technological progress in ICT. For those technically inefficient countries, however, technical inefficiency may hamper the growth of total factor productivity of ICT practices.

Nutritional Composition of Rice with Embryo Part, Obongbyeo (배아미 오봉벼의 영양가)

  • This study was carried out to find out the properties of rice grain with embryo part. Obong-byeo. The embryo part on the rice remained by 96.7% in Obongbyeo after complete removal of the brans by common milling method. In nutritional composition. the content of lipid. vitamin B$_1$ and niacin were greater in Obongbyeo than Nagdongbyeo as a check variety. In particular. the contents of vitamin B$_1$ and niacin were about 1,5 times higher. Increased weight and feed effect of rat raising with milled rice were 107 and 172% in Obongbyeo and 101 and 125% in Nagdongbyeo. respectively. Eating quality of Obongbyeo was better than Nagdongbyeo.

  • The Korea-Chile FTA talks began in December 1999 and concluded in October 2002, with official endorsement in April 2004. This FTA of a first for Korea, went into effect on April 1 in 2004. The purpose of this study to measure the Chile product evaluation in the Korean consumer after Korea-Chile FTA signed. The major result of article can be summarized as the follows: This paper investigates the determinants of 'product attitude', 'quality recognition', 'price recognition', 'use safety', 'use convenience', and 'design(appearance)'. There are 500 sended samples and 487 returns, 476 of them are analyzed for a entry competitiveness. In the analysis result of the article, The first, multiple regression result shows that the Chile goods evaluation are positively affected by the 'product attitude', 'price recognition', 'use safety', 'use convenience', and 'design(appearance)'. However, The 'quality recognition' factor do not affect in Chile goods evaluation.

  • In most leading companies, new product development is one of the most important corporate activities which affects the very existence of them. Therefore, CFT(cross-functional team) is frequently used to utilize knowledge and experiences of its members from various teams. To ensure the successful operation of CFT, various structural assistances, such as committee and Task Force Team, are made which will coordinate smooth interactions among members. Many researches show that the increase of interaction among team members affects the performance. This research is exploratory research intend to show the effects of relational characteristics such as group efficacy and participation on the perceived performance of new product development. This research examines the performance mechanism that lies in between CFT and its members by expanding the understandings on the relationship between interaction and performance in new product development CFT. Results show that the level of interaction affect group efficacy. and group efficacy affect participation. Finally, participation affect perceived performance. However. it shows that the level of interaction and group efficacy do not have direct effect on perceived performance.

Characteristics and Manufacturing Technology of the Angbuilgu Treasure with Plate Pillars Decorated with a Dragon in Clouds (운룡주(雲龍柱) 보물 앙부일구의 특성과 제작 기술)

  • This study analyzes the materials and external characteristics of the Angbu-ilgu, a kind of scaphe sundial, which was newly designated as a Korean Treasure in 2022. The Angbu-ilgu Treasure is owned by three institutions - the National Palace Museum Of Korea, Gyeongju National Museum, and Sungshin Women's University Museum - and is similar as a twin in its material, size, outward appearance, as well as production techniques that include casting, silver inlays, and metal joints. The Three-Treasure Angbu-ilgu is made of brass in the ratio of 90.6: 6.0: 1.8 with Cu: Zn: Pb. This composition clearly differs from Treasure No. 845, an Angbuilgu which has a composition ratio of 82.2: 3.7: 11.8 with Cu: Zn: Pb. In this new Angbu-ilgu Treasure, the hemisphere's stand has four vertical pillars sculpted in a dragon pattern and bilateral wings carved in a cloud pattern on the pillars, which are joined to the hemisphere's horizontal ring with rivets and silver solders, respectively. The dragon-in-clouds pillar (雲龍柱) shows the most outstanding formative beauty of the various Angbu-ilgu pillars produced in the late Joseon Dynasty. It can be seen that the altitude of the north pole engraved on the Angbu-ilgu was made after 1713. Production is, however, actually estimated to have occurred close to the 19th century, the era of the Jinju Kang family, who were professional Angbuilgu makers. Hopefully, this study will lead to a historical science and technology review with modern scientific instruments analyzing the materials and external characteristics of the three Angbu-ilgus designated as a Korean Treasure in 2022.

Dough Properties and Bread Qualities of Wheat Flour Supplemented with Rice Bran (미강 첨가에 따른 밀가루 반죽물성 및 제빵적성)

  • We examined the dough properties, baking qualities, and sensory aspects of commercial hard wheat flour (Q1) that was supplemented with up to 30% rice bran flour. The loaf volumes of bread with 20% and 30% rice bran were 83% and 65% respectively, of the control (wheat flour only). However, a 5% and 10% supplement of rice bran increased loaf volume by 5.2% and 0.7% respectively, over the control. After storage of loaves for three days, bread crumbs from loaves with 5% rice bran were significantly softer than those with 10% 20% and 30% rice bran. The hardness of dough increased with the proportion of rice bran, but springiness and cohesiveness were inversely related to hardness. Addition of rice bran increased loaf pH. Rice bran decreased lightness, but significantly increased redness and yellowness in a concentration dependent manner. Sensory investigation indicated that bread with 5% rice bran was not significantly different from the control. However, more panel members preferred the appearance and flavor of bread with 5% rice bran.

Three New Records of Actiniaria (Anthozoa: Zoantharia) from Korea (한국산 해변말미잘목 (산호충강: 말미잘아강)의 3미기록종)

  • Some actiniarians were collected from the coasts of Jejudo and Baekdo Islands in Korean waters from 1971 to 2004. They are identified into three species within three families, which are newly recorded to Korean actiniarian fauna: Halcampella maxima Hertwig, 1888 within the tribe Athenaria, and also Aulactinia coccinea (Verrill, 1866) and Stichodactyla tapetum (Ehrenberg, 1834) within the tribe Thenaria. They are described in detail with figures and tables together with the distribution and size of cnidae. In preserved specimens, mature oocytes of H. maxima were observed in winter. Also oocytes and sperm sacs of S. tapetum were surveyed at separate individuals in summer. The unique feature of A. coccinea is a body wall with simple adhesive verrucae extended from margin to limbus in longitudinal rows. In the genus Stichodactyla, the smallest species, S. tapetum is distinguished from S. haddoni by short bulbous tentacles, less than 1.0 mm long, densely packed on the oral disc and also conical marginal ones, 1.5-2.0 mm long. As a result of this study, the Korean actiniarian fauna consists of four athenarian and 23 thenarian species in suborder Nynantheae

Adaptive Model-based Multi-object Tracking Robust to Illumination Changes and Overlapping (조명변화와 곁침에 강건한 적응적 모델 기반 다중객체 추적)

  • This paper proposes a method to track persons robustly in illumination changes and partial occlusions in color video frames acquired from a fixed camera. To solve a problem of changing appearance by illumination change, a time-independent intrinsic image is used to remove noises in an frame and is adaptively updated frame-by-frame. We use a hierarchical human model including body color information in order to track persons in occlusion. The tracked human model is recorded into a persons' list for some duration after the corresponding person's exit and is recovered from the list after her reentering. The proposed method was experimented in several indoor and outdoor scenario. This demonstrated the potential effectiveness of an adaptive model-base method that corrected distorted person's color information by lighting changes, and succeeded tracking of persons which was overlapped in a frame.

A Study on the design method and characteristics of "La casa del fascio" in Italian Como city (이탈리아 꼬모(COMO)에 까자 델 파쇼(CASA DEL FASCIO)의 디자인 전개방법에 관한 연구)

  • This study is an analyze for Casa del Fascio, of Giuseppe Terragni, an important architect of fascism period of Italy. Based on the spot reinvestigation of first copies and unpublished data in a archive for a month of 2002. August, Terragni, Como, to compromise with the limit of studies up to the present. General's from early scheme to final constructed scheme, finally offered standard way to understand Terragni's scheme. Result of analyze are to two conclusions. 1) It has direct bearings between physical environment of site which was to build from original scheme and final decided external form. Especially there is direct relation between facade and composition of Duomo Cathedral, in the center of Como. 2) Although the image for scheme by architect represented as a physical form which was impossible to analyze the data as development sequence from archive, it influences on the first image, which had changed many times, exists as important element to final constructed scheme.
