  • The paper discussed on the stability of cantilevered pipe conveying fluid subjected to distributed follower force. Governing equations of motion are derived by extended Hamilton's principle, and the numerical scheme using finite element method is applied to obtain the discretized equations. The critical flow velocity as a function of the distributed follower force for the various mass ratio is determined. The flutter configurations of the pipes at the critical flow velocities are drawn graphically at every twelfth period to define the order of quasi-mode of flutter configuration The critical mass ratios, at which the transference of the eigenvalue branches related to flutter take place, are definitely determined. Also, the effect of damping on the stability of the system is considered.

  • An acoustic vector sensor is a device that is capable of measuring the direction of wave propagation and the acoustic pressure. In this paper, the modeling of micro-cantilever sensor for the vector sensor are proposed by consideration of acoustic phenomenon in water. Two models based on unimorph structure are proposed in this paper and corresponding transfer function which describes the relation between input pressure wave and output voltage depending on incidence angle and frequency of pressure wave is derived based on lumped model. It has been shown that very thin and flexible micro-cantilever can be used to measure directly the particle velocity component in water.

  • The vibration of a flexible cantilever tube with nonlinear constraints when it is subjected to flow internally with fluids is examined by experiment and theoretical analysis. These kind of studies have often been performed that finds the existence of chaotic motion. In this paper, the important parameters of the system leading to such a chaotic motion such as Young's modulus and coefficient of viscoelasticity in tube material are discussed. The parameters are investigated by means of a system identification so that comparisons are made between numerical analysis using the parameters of a handbook and the experimental results. The chaotic region led by several period-doubling bifurcations beyond the Hopf bifurcation is also re-established with phase portraits and bifurcation diagram so that one can define optimal parameters for system design.

  • The present paper deals with the dynamic stability and vibration suppression of a cantilevered flexible pipe having a tip mass under an internal flowing fluid. The equations of motion are derived by energy expressions using extended Hamilton's principle, and some analytical results using Galerkin's method are presented. Finally, the vibration suppression technique by means of an internal fluid flow is demonstrated experimentally.

Increasing of the velocity of fluid flow make the amplitude of cantilever pipe conveying fluid decrease. The deflection of the cantilever pipe conveying fluid is increased by moving masses. After the moving mass passed upon the cantilever pipe, the amplitude of pipe is influenced due to the deflection of pipe tilth the effect of moving mass and gravity.

  • The paper presents the dynamic stability of a vertical cantilevered pipe conveying fluid and having an intermediate translational linear spring. The translational linear spring can be located at an arbitrary position. Governing equations are derived by energy expressions, and numerical technique using Galerkin's method is applied to discretize the equations of small motion of the pipe. Effects of linear spring supports on the dynamic stability of a vertical cantilevered pipe conveying fluid are fully investigated for various locations and magnitudes of the translational linear spring.

  • A conveying fluid cantilever pipe system subjected to an uniformly distributed tangential follower force and three moving masses upon it constitute this vibrational system. The influences of the velocities of moving masses, the distance between two moving masses. and the uniformly distributed tangential follower force have been studied on the dynamic behavior of a cantilever pipe system by numerical mettled. The uniformly distributed tangential follower force is considered within its ciritical value of a cantilever pipe without moving masses, and three constant velocities and three constant distance between two moving masses are also chosen. When the moving masses exist on pipe, As the velocity of the moving mass and distributed tangental force increases, the deflection of cantilever pipe conveying fluid is decreased, respectively. Increasing of the velocity of fluid flow make the amplitude of cantilever pipe conveying fluid decrease. After the moving mass passed upon the pipe, the tip displacement of pipe is influenced by the potential energy of cantilever pipe.

  • The vibrational system in this study consists of a cantilever pipe conveying fluid, the moving mass upon it, and an attached tip mass. The equation of motion is derived by using the Lagrange equation. The influences of the velocity and the velocities of fluid flow in the pipe have been studied on the dynamic behavior of a cantilever pipe using a numerical method. While the moving mass moves upon the cantilever pipe, the velocity of fluid flow and the nozzle angle increase; as a result, the tip displacement of the cantilever pipe, conveying fluid, is decreased. After the moving mass passes over the cantilever pipe, the tip displacement of the pipe is influenced by the potential energy of the cantilever pipe and the deflection of the pipe; the effect is the result of the moving mass and gravity. As the velocity of fluid flow and nozzle angle increases, the natural frequency of he system is decreased at the second mode and third mode, but it is increased at the first mode. As the moving mass increases, the natural frequency of the system is decreased at all modes.

The equation of motion is derived by using Lagrange's equation. The influences of the velocity and the inertia force of the moving mass and the velocities of fluid flow in the pipe have been studied on the dynamic behavior and the natural frequency of a cantilever pipe by numerical method. The deflection of the cantilever pipe conveying fluid is increased due to the tip mass and rotary Inertia. After the moving mass passed upon the cantilever pipe, the amplitude of pipe is influenced by energy variation when the moving mass fall from the cantilever pipe. As the moving mass increase, the frequency of the cantilever pipe conveying fluid is increased. The rotary inertia of the tip mass influences much on the higher frequencies and vibration mode.
