Compliance and Influencing Factors to Respiratory Infection Prevention among College Students Who Have Experienced the COVID-19 Pandemic (코로나19 대유행을 경험한 대학생들의 호흡기감염 예방 이행 수준과 영향요인 )

  • This study was conducted to understand the level of compliance and influencing factors to respiratory infection prevention among the college students who experienced the COVID-19 pandemic. An online survey was conducted on 200 college students from December 15, 2023 to January 5, 2024, and the data of 199 people who responded faithfully were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression through SPSS 18.0. According to the result, the compliance level of respiratory infection prevention was 32.95±6.05 points on average out of 48 points. The general characteristics, which showed differences in the compliance level of respiratory infection prevention, and the characteristics related to respiratory infections were identified to be major (t=-2.59, p=.010), education on respiratory infection prevention (t=1.99, p=.048), influenza vaccination of the year (t=-2.10, p=.037), COVID-19 vaccination of the year (t=3.56, p<.001), and mask wearing in crowded places (t=4.96, p<.001). As for the factors influencing the compliance to respiratory infection prevention, major (β=0.31, p<.001), influenza vaccination of the year (β=-0.15, p=.046), and mask wearing in a crowded places (β=-0.31, p<.001) were identified as a significant variable in the multiple regression analysis. In conclusion, since respiratory infections continue to occur even after the termination of COVID-19 epidemic, it is necessary to make efforts to promote compliance to respiratory infection prevention practice, and it is expected that the factors identified in this study can be used as the basic data when developing a respiratory infection prevention program targeting college students.

  • Recently, e-learning platforms are rapidly growing by innovating the education industry by applying various IT technologies. Because student participation in the online environment is considered a prerequisite for learning, low participation rates are considered one of the most important issues determining the performance of e-learning platforms. Gamification has grown rapidly over the past decades and is highly valued for its applicability in education because it is expected to enhance learning motivation. However, despite the interest of researchers, previous studies have reported conflicting results on the effect of gamification on participation rates in the context of e-learning platforms, and have mainly studied structural gamification, but have not sufficiently addressed the effects of content gamification. In this context, this study aims to analyze the effect of content gamification on e-learning platform engagement and to explore the boundary conditions moderating this effect. For empirical analysis, 5,017 data registered from February 11, 2022 to May 31, 2022 were analyzed for the education platform entry (https://playentry.org). The propensity score matching method and Poisson multilevel regression model were applied as analysis methods. As a result of the analysis, content gamification had a statistically significant effect on engagement, and the interaction effects of interaction and content difficulty were statistically significant.

Path Analysis on the Effects of College student's Grit in Liberal Arts Sports Classes on Resilience of student and Satisfaction on College Life (사립대학교에서 교양 체육 수업을 수강한 대학생의 회복탄력성이 대학생활 만족도 및 그릿에 미치는 영향에 대한 경로분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to structurally analyze the effect of resilience of college students who took liberal arts and sports classes at private universities on college life satisfaction and grit. For this study, we conducted an online survey of 283 non-sports college students who took liberal arts and physical education classes. In order to process the data of this study, the responses of the questionnaire were converted into data, and statistical programs SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 21.0 were used to analyze it. In SPSS 23.0, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis were performed. Meanwhile, with AMOS 21.0, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation model analysis were performed to determine the statistical fit of the research model, and values such as CFI (complementary fit index), Tucker-lewis index (TLI), and RMSEA (root mean square error of approach) derived in this process were reviewed. First, Model 1 showed statistically significant results in the effect of resilience of college students who took liberal arts sports on college life satisfaction and college life satisfaction on Grit's continuity of interest. Second, Model 2 showed statistically significant results in the effect of resilience of college students who took liberal arts sports on college life satisfaction and college life satisfaction on grit's effort. It was found that there were statistically significant results in the effect of resilience of college students who took liberal arts sports on college life satisfaction and college life satisfaction on Grit's continued interest and effort.

Weight Control Behaviors and Correlates in Korean Adolescents (한국 청소년의 체중조절행동 영향요인)

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence rate and correlates of weight control behaviors among adolescents in Korea. We analyzed data on 37,472 adolescents aged 12-18 years from the 2011 7th Korea Youth Risk Behavior web-based Survey. The results of this study was as following. First, the prevalence rate of healthy, unhealthy and extreme weight control behaviors was significantly higher in girls than in boys. Second, in both genders, healthy and unhealthy weight control behaviors were more common among obese adolescents than non-obese adolescents. But, use of diet pills were not prescription by doctor was more common in underweight boys and obese girls than others. Third, gender, school, family affluence scale, mother's education level, body shape perception(BSP), weight status predicted prevalence rate of healthy weight control behaviors. Gender, school, region, father's education level, BSP predicted prevalence rate of unhealthy weight control behaviors. Gender, school, BSP, weight status predicted prevalence rate of extreme weight control behaviors. These findings suggest the needs to design appropriate prevention program that can induce healthy weight control behaviors.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the dietary habits of the relevant factors according to the obesity status of children and adolescents. Services research studies conducted in the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Family Affairs of the '2009 Children and Youth Online Games and Family Activity Survey findings utilizing data. Study, the subjects utilized 9,462 elementary school students 2,778 people, 3,385 middle school students, high school students a total of 3,299 people were enrolled in the study. Were grouped according to the BMI of the study subjects. After dinner snack intake 18.5>BMI groups disagree 38.8%, 18.5${\leq}$BMI<23.0 group it was 41.1%, 23.5${\leq}$BMI<25.0 group it was 40.1%, $25{\leq}BMI$ groups disagree 37.4% response was highest(p=0.001). Investigate whether regular exercise every day, results showed that a high BMI index groups do not exercise more. Aggressiveness in time, such as physical education, the survey showed that a low BMI index group more likely to exercise vigorously. BMI index group of people around you and the speed of eating more meals were faster. If you let more to allow time to practice proper education of children and youth, health and enrich lives of the appropriation will be able to Services to live a healthy and happy life than to correct perceptions and lifestyles of children and adolescents. A Study on Effectiveness of Online Interactive Cinematherapy Course Due to COVID-19: Emotional Intelligence and Empathic Ability (COVID-19로 인한 비대면 상호작용적 영화심리치료 수업의 효과성 연구: 감성지능과 공감능력)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify whether the Interactive Cinematherapy Course developed based on discussion is still effective for emotional intelligence and empathic ability, even in a college lecture environment where courses are given online due to COVID-19. The subjects were enrolled in the Interactive Cinematherapy Course and experienced either an online (N=139) or offline (N=212) course before and after COVID-19. To the offline course, students were given structural questions and conducted discussions, whereas the online course students were given feedback via e-mail to substitute discussion. The results were as follows. Compared to the offline courses, students in both online/offline courses commonly showed an increase in "Other's emotion appraisal", "Cognitive Empathy", "Perspective taking", "Fantasy", and "Emphatic Concern". The online course students showed an increase in the "Use of emotion", while offline course students showed an increase in "Self emotion appraisal". This shows that online and offline courses do not have a significant difference in effects. In qualitative research, the lecturer's communication ability and concern helped enhance the effectiveness of the Interactive Cinematherapy Course given online. This implies that communication between the lecturer and students and role of the lecturer are more important than the online environment.

Analysis of Domestic and International Science Education Research Trends on Play: Focusing on Implications for Research in Elementary Science Education (놀이에 관한 국내·외 과학교육 연구 동향 분석 - 초등과학교육 연구를 위한 시사점을 중심으로 -)

  • To investigate the trends in science education research related to play and derive implications for elementary science education research, we analyzed 109 research articles on play in science education published both in Korea and abroad. First, the number of research studies conducted abroad has been steadily increasing since 2009, with the highest number targeting middle school students. Conversely, domestic research has the highest number of papers targeting elementary school students. Second, in terms of research methods, quantitative methods were the most commonly used. Third, the use of questionnaires was the most frequently published research method, while the use of observation and products was smaller in number in domestic studies compared to those conducted abroad. Fourth, In the aspects of the contents, more research was conducted in the field of physics than in other areas. In case of researches for elementary school students, domestic research was focused on four areas of science. Fifth, among the studies exploring effectiveness, the 'cognitive domain' was the most studied, followed by the 'science-related attitude domain' and the 'inquiry and practice domain'. Sixth, the use of play was high in the following order: online games, video games, virtual play, and games with rules. For domestic researches, studies on analog play were most frequently reported, and the ratio of digital games in abroad was higher than that of others. Seventh, the highest number of papers used teacher-directed play, and this tendency was more noticeable in domestic studies.

Perception of Good Death among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 좋은 죽음 인식)

  • This study is a descriptive research study conducted to find out the level of perception of the good death among nursing students and compare sub-factors among the perceptions of a good death. As for the research method, 102 people who explained the purpose of the study and agreed to participate were conveniently recruited. As a research tool, 'Measure of concept of a Good Death' by Schwartz et al. (2003) was translated by Lee (2017), and the research was conducted through online. For data analysis, statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, t-test, and one-way ANOVA of the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 program were used. Factors showing average differences in scores for each of the three sub-factors of good death awareness were derived from the experience of clinical practice. The mean of good death (3.13±0.36 points) of nursing students who experienced clinical practice was statistically significantly higher than that of students without clinical practice experience (2.90±0.31 points) (t=3.156, p=.002). In particular, the mean of good death for 'closure' was statistically significantly higher for those with experience in clinical practice (3.46±0.39 points) than those without experience (3.16±0.37 points) (t=3.476, p=.001). Through this study, it was confirmed that nursing students' perception of a good death differed depending on whether or not they were in clinical practice. The results of this study are expected to provide basic data for the establishment of effective educational strategies for the perception of good death in nursing students.

Comparison of the operation of SW gifted curriculum: Focusing on face-to-face and non-face-to-face classes (SW영재학급 교육과정 운영 비교 : 대면 및 비대면 수업방식 중심으로)

  • In order for SW education to be established in the era of non-face-to-face caused by COVID-19, research on the efficiency of SW education according to face-to-face and non-face classes is needed. Therefore, this study classified the operation status of the curriculum of 30 SW gifted classes nationwide in 2020 according to the class method(face-to-face, non-face, and blended). Subsequently, the results of class time and production per person were compared and analyzed through quantitative analysis. According to the study, the type of classes that performed the most classes compared to the planned number of hours was non-face-to-face(90.9%), followed by face-to-face(84.2%) and the least was blended(80.5%). The average number of products per student was the highest in the face-to-face class(0.504), while the blended class(0.421) and non-face-to-face class(0.42). Based on the results of this study, the non-face-to-face approach is advantageous in securing the number of hours, but various measures should be prepared to solve this problem because teachers and students find it difficult to guide the output.

The Relationship between Attitude, Subjective Norms, Perceived Behavioral Control, Intention and Safer Sexual Behavior in the Experienced University Students of Sexual Intercourse (성 경험이 있는 대학생의 태도, 주관적 규범, 지각된 행위통제 및 의도와 안전한 성행위 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this research was to identify the relationships between attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intention and safer sexual behavior in experienced university students of sexual intercourse. The research participants were 388 students of university in Seoul. Considering the extremely private and sensitive topic of this research, data collection was performed through online and mobile media from April 1 to 14, 2013. Collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 21.0 Programs. As a results, safer sexual behavior had a meaningful relationship with subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, intention of safer sexual behavior. Based on these results, it is suggested that the results the of this research are used to develop nursing intervention strategies for the promotion of sexual health, such as sex education programs or sex counseling programs targeting university students.
