  • With the increase of double-income families, parents are not free in terms of time and space in communicating with teachers. Also for teachers, with many students and heavy load of work, communication with parents has been poor. As a means for overcoming this kind of situation, this research examined the current status of communication between teachers and parents using SMS and problems to solve. The investigation of the actual conditions of SMS use showed that there was a high number of answers pointing out that SMS is needed for the exchange of information regarding children and educational activities, and teachers pointed out that the communication was effective for exchanging educational information regarding children whereas parents pointed out that it was effective in improving the children's attitudes. Based on the results of the analysis, the following was found as tasks to be solved: preparing a plan for revitalizing SMS use, solving the burden that parents have in communicating with teachers, becoming more friendly with teachers, investigation of the reason why there is no response regarding SMS and preparing countermeasures, providing information appropriate to what parents want, increasing the reply rate of parents, expansion of text capacity, and trouble with getting online with a computer.

  • With the increased use of GPS in the field of various applications including surveying, the request for fast and precise positional information has increased. Several countries such as USA, Canada, and Australia have already been operating Internet-based automatic GPS data analysis system using e-mail and FTP. Expanding GPS market, it is necessary to establish automatic GPS baseline processing system that is accessible via Internet. The system developed in this study is operating on the web, and it allows the users to access easily regardless of time and place. The main processing engines are Bernese V5.0 and PAGES. They process user data with three GPS CORS(Continuously Operating Reference Station), and then send the report to the users through e-mail. This system allows users to process high accurate GPS data easily. It is expected that this system will be used for various GPS applications such as monitoring large-scale structures and providing spatial information services in private sector.

  • Recently, The E-Learning becames popular in modern education society, and the education of E-Learning form increased. among them, the leadership education which cultivate the leader who is a present community leader role is more important. The Leadership-activity give effects to consultant and consulters through the relationship each other. However, the leadership-activity is difficult to be reified because it differs from concepts of E-learning that is one-direction teaching mechanism. Beside, the restriction in time and space and considered as important factors because of offline characteristics. The paper presents an online mentoring community form unities among professors, student, and managers having the same subjects in virtual spaces. The community is based on the Leadership-activity. The community system contributes in aspects to a new evaluation mechanism and a new method to communication between mentors and mentees. The paper introduces the system architectures and the implementation method for the presenting community system in details.

  • A moving picture in online game is one of major ways to advertise online games, which gives a lot of help in playing game. In this case, a moving picture is compressed to variable bit rate for efficient storage use and network resource efficiency. Adaptable bandwidth allocation technique builds a transmission plan of a game moving picture. And, then some frames are discarded when transmission rate by the transmission plan is larger than available transmission rate, until transmission rate satisfies available transmission rate. Thus, performance evaluation factors in adaptable bandwidth allocation technique may be dependent on discarding order of a frame which transmission rate is much influenced. In this paper, in order to show the performance, a CBA algorithm, an MCBA algorithm, an MVBA algorithm, [6] and [7] algorithm were applied to a transmission plan in the adaptable band width allocation technique using various frame discard methods and performance evaluation factors were compared in among smoothing algorithms.

  • Time-memory trade-off (TMTO) cryptanalysis proposed by Hellman can be applied for the various crypto-systems such as block ciphers, stream ciphers, and hash functions. In this paper, we propose a novel method to reduce memory size for storing TMTO tables. The starting points in a TMTO table can be substituted by the indices of n-bit samples from a sequence in a family of pseudo-random sequences with good cross-correlation, which results in the reduction of memory size for the starting points. By using this method, it is possible to reduce the memory size by the factor of 1/10 at the cost of the slightly increasing of operation time in the online phase. Because the memory is considered as more expensive resource than the time, the TMTO cryptanalysis will be more feasible for many real crypto systems.

  • A MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) is an online role-playing game in which a large number of players can interact with each other in the same world at the same time. Most of them require significant hardware requirements(e.g., servers and bandwidth), and dedicated support staff. Despite the efforts of developers, users often cite overpopulation, lag, and poor support as problems of games. In this paper, a dynamic load balancing method for MMORPGS is proposed. It tries to adapt to dynamic change of population by using dynamic map-partition method with VML(Virtual Map Layer) which consists of fields, sector groups, sectors, and cells. From the experimental results, our approach achieves about $23^{\sim}67%$ lower loads for each field server. By the modification to Virtual Area Layer, we can easily manage problems that come from changes of map data, resources' status, and users' behavior pattern.

  • In the 2000s, the PC package game market has withered, but the internet based on-line game, the wireless internet based mobile game and high-powered console game market have been main stream. Among those markets, mobile game market has rapidly increased because it has 'mobility' that overcomes the limitation of time and area. But, unlike other platforms, mobile game user have to pay the higher price for download mobile game contents through the wireless internet and mobile game developer have to overcome the limitation of storage memory capacity.of mobile phone. Chiefly, the image data consume the storage capacity of mobile game contents, this paper present a technology to optimize image data for mobile game contents through analyzing type of compression method and image formats.

  • WBI (Web-Based Instruction), a web-based tool for teaching the students at a long distance, makes possible to Interact between learners and instructors, provides a wide variety of learning materials, has an advantage of overcoming spatial constraints. In this paper, as a model of using the web for education, a web-based education-evaluation system has been designed and implemented. Web-based education-evaluation system has to be equipped with both of the online setting question mode and the upload setting question mode, the former makes questions on web and the latter uploads the setted questions on offline with settling a defeat of the existing systems on setting questions. And the system has to be equipped with the function of analyzing the questions that gives teacher several kinds of analysis information and makes possible to feedback to questions by adjusting the difficulty and revising the questions. In this paper, a system that reflects the above requirements has been designed and implemented with PHP script language and MySQL database system.

  • In this paper, we describe an implementation of real-time face recognition system under ubiquitous computing environments. First, face image is captured by PDA with CMOS camera and then this image with user n and name is transmitted via WLAN(Wireless LAN) to the server and finally PDA receives verification result from the server The proposed system consists of server and client parts. Server uses PCA and LDA algorithm which calculates eigenvector and eigenvalue matrices using the face images from the PDA at enrollment process. And then, it sends recognition result using Euclidean distance at verification process. Here, captured image is first compressed by the wave- let transform and sent as JPG format for real-time processing. Implemented system makes an improvement of the speed and performance by comparing Euclidean distance with previously calculated eigenvector and eignevalue matrices in the learning process.

  • Twitter is very popluar with users who desire social interaction as it is a highly effective method of communicating compared to traditional communication platforms; and thus has garnered considerable interest from the academic community. This research reveals how election results can be predicted by the factors of total volume of messages, positive messages and negative messages tweeted about a candidate. Social matrix analysis revealed that the quantity of twitter messages was a strong predictor of election results in the 18th presidential election in Korea. In addition, more positive messages than negative messages about a candidate from twitter users recorded better results in the election. This research found that the total quantity of messages, positive messages, and negative messages as key factors for predicting election result. Future studies should investigate other SNS platforms to discover what is the most effective communication strategy on each platform.
