A 16-week feeding trial was conducted to estimate the optimum dietary protein to energy ratio (P/E ratio, mg/kcal) in juvenile Japanese eel, Anguilla japonica. Six experimental diets were formulated with three energy levels and two protein levels at each energy level. Three energy levels of 3800, 4150 and 4500 kcal per kg diets were included at 45 and 50% crude protein (CP) levels, respectively $(_{120}P_{45},\;_{110}P_{45},\;_{100}P_{45},\;_{130}P_{50},\;_{120}P_{50},\;and\;_{110}P_{50})$. After four weeks of the conditioning period, fish initially averaging $15.0{\pm}3g\;(means{\pm}SD)$ were randomly distributed into each tank as groups of 20 fish. Each diet was fed to fish in three randomly selected tanks at a rate of $2{\sim}3%$ wet body weight per day in the recirculated system. Weight gain (WG) and specific growth rate of fish fed diet $_{100}P_{45}$ were significantly higher (P<0.05) than those of fish fed the other diets. WG of fish fed diet $_{120}P_{50}$ was also significantly higher than those of fish fed diets $_{130}P_{50}$ and $_{110}P_{50}$. Feed efficiency ratio of fish fed diets $_{100}P_{45}$ and $_{110}P_{45}$ were significantly higher (P<0.05) than those of fish fed other diets. These results suggest that the optimum P/E ratio may be 100 mg/kcal with 45% protein diets, and 120 mg/Kcal 50% protein diets for the maximum growth of juvenile Japanese eel under the experimental condition.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the preoperative and postoperative nutritional statuses of patients with gastric cancer and to investigate the nutritional factors that are correlated with perioperative complications. Materials and Methods: From January 2008 to Jun 2008, 669 patients who underwent curative gastrectomy were enrolled in a retrospective study. To evaluate the changes of their nutritional status preoperatively and postoperatively, we measured the total lymphocyte count, the serum albumin, the body weight change and the BMI. The nutritional factors correlated with short-term postoperative complications were analyzed. Results: The total lymphocyte count and serum albumin decreased from the first preoperative day to the $5^{th}$ day after operation, but they tended to increase and approach the normal range 6 months after operation. The only factor correlated with the short-term postoperative complications (defined as the ones that occurred for 30 days) was the serum albumin checked on the $5^{th}$ day after operation. Conclusion: Low serum albumin on the $5^{th}$ day after operation was correlated with postoperative short-term complications. Serum albumin can be the preoperative statistical parameter that can predict the occurrence of postoperative complications.

Recently, there seems to besome problems in the urban visual landscape as a result of continuous economic growth and industrial development. At the same time, the public has begun to be aware of the importance of visual resources, and the necessity for visual landscape conservation and improvement. Therefore, the development of evaluative indicators for systematic visual landscape planning and design is urgent. The purpose ofthis study is to discover evaluative models and indicators for the diagnosis of urban visual landscapes. This study included the selection of 18 physical indicators(statistical data) by literature reviews, adoption of field and questionnaire surveys at 12 autonomous districts in Seoul and surrounding major mountain valleys and river streams(i.e. Mt. Nam and Han-River). The content of the questionnaire is scenic beauty. Moreover, the linear regression analysis between the scenic beauty mean scores and the physical indicator scores figure out the scenic beauty prediction model. As this study suggests, the most important indicators in urban visual landscapes are 'Greens', 'Park' and 'the number of apartment buildings(higher than 20 stories).' Based on the results, greens and parks should be priority elements to considerin urban landscape planning and design. Moreover, since the number of apartment buildings that are higher than 20 stories has a negative correlation with the scenic beauty score, it can be used as basic data for landscape planning. For the scenic beauty prediction models and evaluative indicators suggest a direction of urban management, each indicator becomes basic data for visual landscape planning and design. In following studies, if physical indicators and case studies are added, the scenic beauty prediction models and evaluative indicators could be more synthetic and systematic. Moreover, the development of physical indicators in three dimensions(3D)(i.e. results from visual district analysis, view surface analysis) could be expected to obtain more general and varied results.
The purpose of this paper is to analyse the locations and to interpret the landscapes of the local towns in Joseon Dynasty from Feng-shui's point of view. As a result of analysing the locations of towns in Gyeongsang Province, the towns which have typical Feng-shui landscapes make up to 58% of the total. Historically, the local towns that were established in the early period of the Joseon Dynasty didn't reveal Feng-shui's landscape, but those that were established in the late period of the Joseon Dynasty revealed the Feng-shui's landscape clearly. In this article, I classify the local towns of the Gyeongsang Province into 3 types: 1. Non Feng-shui type These towns are located near the seashore. The main reason that these towns were located at the seashore was defense against an enemy. 2. Semi Feng-shui type. These towns don't have natural location but have a man-made landscape, based on the principles of Feng-shui. 3. Typical Feng-shui type. These towns were typically administrational towns which were located at the center of a local region.

1. establishment and development of China archives science: With the centuries-old history of archives and archives management, early China archives science came into being in 1930s, and the research pushed forward by archives enterprise has made great achievements since then. 1.1 Expanding research fields: Foundation
In this study, chemical compositions - holocellulose, lignin and monomeric sugars - were characterized with two poplar wood cell walls, one of which was grown at normal condition (CPW) and the other was genetically modified by antisence suppression of CCoAOMT gene expression (ACPW). Milled wood lignins were isolated from CPW and ACPW and subjected to methoxyl group, DFRC, Py-GC/MS, GPC, $^{13}C$-NMR analysis, respectively. There were few differences in holocellulose contents in both cell walls, which were determined to 81.6% in CPW and to 82.3% in ACPW. However, lignin contents in ACPW was clearly decreased by the suppression of CCoAOMT gene expression. In CPW 21.7% of lignin contents was determined, while lignin contents in ACPW was lowered to 18.3%. The relative poor solubility of ACPW in alkali solution could be attributed to the reduction of lignin content. The glucose contents of CPW and ACPW were measured to 511.0 mg/g and 584.8 mg/g and xylose contents 217.8 mg/g and 187.5 mg/g, respectively, indicating that suppression of CCoAOMT gene expression could be also influenced to the formation of monomeric sugar compositions. In depth investigation for milled wood lignin (MWL) isolated from both samples revealed that the methoxyl contents at ACPW was decreased by 7% in comparison to that of CPW, which were indirectly evidenced by $^{13}C$-NMR spectra and Py-GC/MS. According to the data from Py-GC/MS S/G ratios of lignin in CPW and ACPW were determined to 0.59 and 0.44, respectively. As conclusive remark, the biosynthesis of syringyl unit could be further influenced by antisense suppression of CCoAOMT during phenylpropanoid pathway in the plant cell wall rather than that of guaiacyl unit.
The defining of weather forecasting regions is possible. since the representativeness of regional weather can by reasonably clarified in terms of weather entropy and the use of information ratio. In this paper, the weather entropy and information ratio were derived numerially from using the information theory. The typical weather characteristics were clarified and defined in the homogeneous weather forecasting regions of the southern parts of Korea. The data used for this study are the daily precipitation and cloudiness during the recent five years (1990-1994) at 42 stations in southern parts of Korea. It is divided into four classes of fine, clear, cloudy and rainy. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The maximum value of weather entropy in study area is 2.009 vits in Yosu in July, and the minimum one is 1.624 bits in Kohung in October. The mean value of weather entropy is maximal in July, on the other hand, minimal in October during four season. The less the value of entropy is, the stabler the weather is. While the bigger the value of entropy is, the more changeable the weather is. 2. The deviation from mean value of weather entropy in southern parts of Korea, with the positive and the negative parts, shows remarkably the distributional tendency of the east (positive) and the west (negative) in January but of the south (positive) and the north (negative) in July. It also clearly shows the distributional tendency of the east (postive) and the west(negative) in the coastal region in April, and of X-type (southern west and northern east: negative) in Chiri Mt. in October. 3. In southern parts, the average information ratio maximaly appear 0.618 in Taegu area in July, whereas minimally 0.550 in Kwangju in October. Particularly the average information ratio of Pusan area is the greatest in April, but the smallest in October. And in Taegu, Kwangju, and Kunsan, it is the greatest in April, January, and July, but the smallest in Jyly, July, and pril. 4.The narrowest appreance of weather representativeness is in July when the Kwangju is the center of the weather forecasting. But the broadest one is in April when Taegu is the center of weather forecasting. 5. The defining of weather forecasting regions in terms of the difference of information ratio most broadly shows up in July in Pusan including the whole Honam area and the southern parts of Youngnam when the Pusan-Taegu is the basis of the application of information ratio. Meanwhile, it appears most broadly in January in Taegu including the whole southern parts except southern coastal area.
Purpose : Irradiation cones by using backscatter electrons are made for the treatment of superficial small lesions of skin, oral cavity, and rectum where a significant dose gradient and maximum surface dose is desired. Methods and Materials : Backscatter electrons are produced from the primary electron beams from the linear accelerators. The design consists of a cylindrical cone that has a thick circular plate of high atomic number medium (Pb or Cu) attached to the distal end, and the plate can be adjusted the reflected angle. Primary electrons strike the metal plate perpendicularly and produce backscatter electrons that reflect through the lateral hole for treatment. Using film and a parallel plate ion chamber, backscatter electron dose characteristics are measured. Results : The depth dose characteristic of the backscatter electron is very similar to that of the hard x-ray beam that is commonly used for the intracavitary and superficial lesions. The basckscatter electron energy is nearly constant and effectively about 1.5 MeV from the clinical megavoltage beams. The backscatter electron dose rate of $35\~85\;cGy/min$ could be achieved from modern accelerators without any modification. and the depth in water of $50\%$ depth dose from backscatter electron located at 6mm for $45^{\circ}$ angled lead scatter. The beam flatness is dependent on the slit size and the depth of treatment, but is satisfactory to treat small lesions. Conclusions : The measured data for backscatter electron energy, depth dose flatness dose rate and absolute dose indicates that the backscatter electrons are suitable for clinical use.
Purpose : Since the first febrile UTI(urinary tract infection) in infants is commonly associated with vesicoureteral reflux(VUR), imaging studies such as renal ultrasonography, dimercaptosuccinic acid(DMSA) scan, and voiding cystourethrography(VCUG) are recommended. How-ever, because of the invasiveness of VCUG, it is difficult to perform in all young infants with febrile UTI. The purpose of this study is to compare the clinical and laboratory characteristics, radiologic findings between the young infant group(1 to 6month, n=121) and the old infant group(7 to 24months, n=91), and to determine the clinical and radiologic risk factors that predict the presence of VUR before the VCUG in patients with their first febrile UTI under 2 years of age. Methods : We reviewed the medical records of 211 first febrile UTI patients under 2 years of age retrospectively, and compared clinical, laboratory, and radiologic findings between the two age groups. Results : The young infant group had a male preponderance and a higher incidence of Escherichia coli in their urine culture. The incidence of acute renal parenchymal defects on DMSA scans were significantly increased in the young infant group. The incidence of VUR was 29% in patients who had a VCUG, but there were no differences in the incidence of VUR between the two age groups. Abnormal findings on DMSA scan significantly correlated with higher incidence of VUR in the young infant group. Incidence of abnormal findings DMSA scan significantly increased with high grade VUR(garde III-V ). Conclusion : In treating first febrile UTI patients under 2 years, physicians have to consider such characteristics as age less than 6 months, male preponderance, E.coli in the urine culture, and increased incidence of abnormal findings on DMSA scans which correlated well with the presence of VUR. The results of the DMSA scan might help us to predict the presence of VUR before the VCUG in first febrile UTI and help us to reduce performing invasive radio-logic studies especially in the young infant group. Purpose: We evaluated the distribution of hypoperfusion in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and the relationship of thalamic hypoperfusion to severity of cognitive and behavioral sequelae. Materials and Methods: Tc-99m ECD SPECT and MRI were performed in 103 patients (M/F=81/22, mean age $34.7{\pm}15.4$ yrs) from 0.5 to 55 months (mean 10.3 months) after TBI. The patients were divided into three groups showing no abnormalities (G1), focal (G2) and diffuse injury (G3) on MRI. Psychometric tests assessed 11 cognitive or behavioral items. In all patients, we evaluated the distribution of hypoperfused areas in SPECT, and in 57/103 patients, neuropsychological (NP) abnormalities in patients with thalamic hypoperfusion were compared with those of patients without thalamic hypoperfusion. Results: The perfusion deficits were most frequently located in the frontal lobe (G1, 42.3%: G2 34.5%: G3 33.3%), temporal lobe ($24{\sim}26%$) thalami ($21{\sim}22.4%$), parietal and occipital lobe (${\leq}10%$). Numbers of NP abnormalities in the cases of cortical hypoperfusion with or without concomitant thalamic hypoperfusion were following: the former $4.7{\pm}1.5$ and the latter $3.2{\pm}1.4\;in\;G1,\;5.0{\pm}1.1\;and\;4.8{\pm}1.2\;in\;G2,\;6.8{\pm}1.8\;and\;6.3{\pm}1.1\;in\;G3$, respectively. This difference according to thalamic hypoperfusion was significant in G1 (p=0.002), but was not significant in G2 or G3. Conclusion: SPECT in patients with TBI had demonstrated hypoperfusion mostly involving the frontal, temporal and thalami. In normal group on MRI, frontal hypoperfusion was more prominent than that of any other group, Furthermore in this group, SPECT could predict severity of NP outcome by concomitant thalamic hypoperfusion with cerebral cortical abnormalities.
