About the Post-Cinematic Characteristics and Desire Shown in a Film (영화 <파란만장>에 나타난 욕망과 포스트시네마적인 특성에 대하여)

  • This study aims to focus on the text analysis, production methods of text, and reproduction of production methods, based on a film (2010) taken by mobile devices. As a digital film in which the objects and images have no characteristics of index, this work has the post-cinematic attributes in the aspect of consumers' recipience. This thesis paid attention to the interactions between essential change and production/consumption throughout the whole film culture in the receptive aspect. Just as the main character is a mediator-shaman in the film, this film works as a mediating position of cinematic possibility. In this film, there are different kinds of mediation such as mediation of shaman inside the text, mediation of film in the relationship between text and consumers, and consumers' instrumental desire for others'tool outside the text. Outside the text, this relevant film stimulates the imitation desire of consumer subjects as others. In other words, this is connected to the desire of consumers who aim to create a digital film through mobile devices as an author. This is connected to Simondon's thinking in which such technical objects not only generate new relationships, but also become a revolutionary seed that newly collectivizes human society.

  • 영화색채는 서사를 비롯한 영화의 다른 요소들과 동등한 기능을 하며, 표현의 독자성에 따른 텍스트적 의미를 갖는다. 일반적으로, 빨강은 시선을 집중시키는 기능을 하며, 그로부터 유발된 의미는 확산된다. 텍스트와 콘텍스트의 관계에서 집중의 기능과 확산의 의미를 제시할 수 있다. 집중과 확산의 개념은 독자적 색채, 색채와 다른 영화적 요소들의 관계, 색채들 간의 상호작용 등에 따라 구체화된다. 이를 확인하기 위해, 이 연구는 대중성을 담보한 일련의 한국영화를 선정하여, 영화색채가 어떻게 상호작용하며, 특히 빨강의 집중 기능과 확산의 의미가 무엇인지를 분석한다.

  • 영화 수익에 있어 영화의 흥행 여부는 중요한 영향을 끼친다. 영화 흥행 요인은 영화 산업의 규모가 커지면서 많은 제작사들 및 투자자들이 고려해야 하는 사항이 되었다. 따라서 영화의 흥행을 예측하기 위한 많은 모델이 연구되었다. 본 연구의 목적은 선행연구에서 흥행에 유의미한 영향을 끼친다고 밝혀진 스크린 수, 감독명, 제작사명 등의 내재적인 속성과 더불어 온라인 구전 변수를 사용하여 영화 흥행 예측 모델을 만드는 것이다. 이때 기사 수, 블로그 수와 같이 온라인 구전의 크기를 나타내는 변수들을 사용하는 대신 개봉 후 첫 주간의 관람객 리뷰를 텍스트마이닝을 이용하여 전체 리뷰 중 긍정 리뷰의 비율에 따라 점수를 매긴 후 독립변수로 사용한다. 그 후, 데이터 마이닝 기법을 활용하여 만든 모델에 앞서 언급한 독립변수를 입력 값으로 사용하여 영화의 흥행을 예측한다. 최종적으로 의사결정트리와 로지스틱회귀를 수행한 결과 영화 흥행에 영향을 주는 독립변수를 찾고 모델의 성능을 평가하였다. 로지스틱회귀의 결과 관객 수, 평점이 영화의 흥행에 특히 유의한 영향을 끼치는 변수로 선정되었고 리뷰 역시 유의한 변수로 선정되었다. 이때 만들어진 모델은 약 90%의 높은 수준의 정확도를 보여주었다. 의사결정트리의 결과 관객 수가 가장 중요한 변수로 선정되었다.

  • This thesis will observe and study the acting pattern and subtext of Ahn, Sung-kee who is known to be "The Nation's Actor" in South Korea's movie industry and currently has been on the screen with multiple different characters in about 120 films. He started his career as a child actor in Kim, Ki-young's movie at the age of five. Ahn is exceptional at communicating through solely on screen in terms of delivering characters' characteristics to audience with variety of characters. We provided some of the acting patterns he has shown in different roles of characters that he played such as in comedic, mellow and extraordinary acting. Following will be analysis on subtext of Professor Kim, Kyung-ho the role Ahn played in Jung, Ji-young's movie in terms of what type of factors was prepared and how it has delivered in each important scene. Generally, acting's basic skills and talents are similar between theater and movie. However, in movies, understanding of shots and preparation is needed. To deliver this well, a depth study of those characteristics such as expression method of subtext and continuous practice is necessary. Based on researches, we will talk about how important screen actors need to understand and prepare those characteristics when they act their roles and express the subtext of each character.

  • This study explores the factors contributing to the commercial success of remade films across countries by analyzing the original Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs and its remakes in the United States (The Departed), South Korea (New World), and Japan (Double Face). This paper analyzes the factors of success and failure based on Konstantin Verevis's remake film theory, focusing on aspects such as the selection of film texts, visual language, narrative structure, and cultural intertextuality. The analysis reveals that successful remade films enhance their visual appeal and strengthen emotional connections with audiences through structural completeness of the original text, creative narrative reconstruction, and differentiated cinematography. Conversely, the failure of some remakes is attributed to excessive replication of the original or the lack of consideration for cultural intertextuality, failing to resonate with audiences. This study emphasizes the need for an approach that maintains the identity of the original while incorporating new cultural sensibilities to achieve success in remakes. It aims to provide practical guidance that promotes multicultural exchange and cooperation in the global film market. The importance of strategic considerations in remaking films that reflect various cultural contexts is highlighted.

  • 영화 흥행 실패의 리스크를 줄이기 위해 객관적인 흥행 예측 지표가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 영화 스크립트의 텍스트를 분석하여 흥행성과를 예측하는 기법을 제안한다. 객관적인 흥행 예측 지표는 누적 관객 수와 누적 매출액으로 설정하였다. 실험은 2010년 1월 1일부터 2016년 8월까지 개봉한 영화중에서 누적 관객 수와 누적 매출액을 기준으로 상위 50위까지의 영화 스크립트를 분석하여 진행했다. 실험을 통해 영화 제작에 앞서 스크립트 분석만을 활용한 영화 흥행성과 예측이 가능함을 보였다.

  • In this article, the narrative strategy of Ryusuke Hamaguchi's is researched focusing on multi-layered intertextuality. is framed in the form of a 'story in a story that embraces a story', and the recognition of intertextuality has an important meaning in examining the storytelling strategy of . Because this movie was adapted from the short stories from Haruki's , the various stories included in the film overlap to form the overall narrative. Therefore, in order to understand properly, it is important to understand the organic semantic relationship between the texts in the movie. Understanding the narrative of is also the process of interconnecting textual content of multiple texts included in the film. Analysis Method Study of Film Text using Word Vectors of Language Model (언어모델의 단어벡터를 이용한 영화 텍스트 분석 기법 연구)

  • LSTM, a deep learning technique for building language models, can be easily trained on systems with small computing resources, unlike large language models. In this paper, we propose a convergent technique to train LSTM-based language models on small-scale texts and perform objective semantic and relational analysis on the main topic words of the text using the word vectors of the vocabulary comprising the text. Using the word vectors of a small language model trained on the English script of the 2021 movie "Green Knight" directed by David Lowery as a text, we proposed a technique that can analyze the meaning and relationship of the main topic words. Through the similarity operation of the word vector, the meaning and symbolism of each theme word can be objectively analyzed with the similarity scores between the words. The relationship between each theme word can be intuitively recognized by displaying the dimensionality-reduced two-dimensional word vector. By using a small-scale language model of the LSTM method, we proposed a method to analyze complex texts using word vectors while minimizing the cost of learning.

This article focuses on 'cinema-novel' as an example of an unprecedented genre experiment. It is because the process of formation and development of this unique genre is filled with contemporary characteristics of the 1920s art that strived to create a content suitable for the modern art medium.

  • This study examines how cinematic texts are used in movies through Lee Jun-ik's 2015 film, and what narrative and visual effects are obtained through them. This film portrays poet Yun Dong-ju as a central figure and chooses to reconstruct his life. The movie, , used Yun's poetry as a device to maximize the lyricism of the film and to suggest a change in the fate of the character and the inside. In other words, uses Yun Dong-ju's poetry to aesthetically express the inner change of the characters in the film and the sensitivity of the film. Through this, I visualize Yun Dong-ju as poet Yun Dong-ju, a poet who was stuffed in literary books, as a normal literary youth. It is also a reminder of the weight of the reality that the present youth is experiencing and the problem of an individual living in history. In this respect, the movie is a major text that depicts the poetry and poetry of the time, and the age of poet through the media. 'Poetry' as the text of the text delivered with the image maximized the lyricism of the image and led to high aesthetic achievement. Through poetry and poetry, it can be regarded as the main text approaching the problems of history, individual, literature and reality.
