A survey and Analysis An analysis on the Image Media Status of Educational Institution for Infants and Children (영유아교육기관의 영상매체 사용 실태조사 및 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the status and use of the image media in education institutions for infants and children to find out about the required image media in education institutions for infants and children. The survey included 184 teachers working in kindergartens and daycare centers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. They were then surveyed and statistical analysis was conducted. As a result of the study, the image media in possession and the image media in use were different. There were also differences between teacher age and class age. The results of these studies helped to identify unnecessary image media in education institutions for infants and children. It is also believed that it could contribute to providing basic data on the image media to be supported and the image media to be developed.

  • This research is to verify early child teachers' ego-strength and self-efficacy that effect to problem solving. The subjects are included 293 in-service teachers in K city and J province. The research tools are ego-strength scale, self-efficacy scale and problem-solving scale. The data is disposed of t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation and regression analysis. As a result, eco-strength, self-efficacy and problem-solving that have a correlation, in addition, variable to effect to self-strength and self-efficacy as solving problems. Therefore, early child teachers are able to own psychological conflict and anxiety which can be disturbing in teaching young children in warm and comfortable ways. It is required to develop a self-growth program to increase ego-strength, self-efficacy, and problem-solving.

The Study on the ICJ Jurisdiction about ownership of Dokdo (한.일간 독도영유권에 관한 국제사법재판소의 관할권 연구)

  • After Presidential Declaration of Korea's Rights in the Surrounding Seas(Lee, Seung-Man Line), Japanese government objected to the Korean government's Declaration of the Peace Line. Japan didn't agree with Korean's ownership of Dokdo and has tried to develop the Dokdo issue into an international dispute and solved it by resorting the International Court of Justice(ICJ) since 1954. As mentioned before, ICJ doesn'thave the right of compulsory jurisdiction of ownership of Dokdo between Korea and Japan. Therefore, we don'thave to agree with Japan's suggestion of bringing a case to ICJ to solve the Dokdo issue. It is not the best way to maintain the international peace judging by ICJ as well. When Japan try to institute case unilaterally, We should remember that it is possible to give the expanding jurisdiction to the ICJ. It is the best way that solving the dispute of Dokdo is to establish the sovereignty over Dokdo while strengthen the control the Dokdo effectively. In conclusion, no matter how Japan claims ownership of Dokdo, it cannot be subject to negotiation.

A Study on the Necessary Spaces and Area Standards of Integration Facility for Early Childhood Education and Care (영유아 교육·보육 통합시설의 필요 공간과 면적기준에 관한 연구)

  • This study suggests desirable disaster safety education curriculum through analyzing the operational status of the school disaster safety management training course and demand survey of school staff. First, the problem of the disaster safety training course of the school is not connected with the lack of law and system and the school disaster safety job. Second, improvement of law and system and variety of training should be made to acquire professional knowledge. Third, it is necessary to divide curriculum into the following four categories, according to educational needs of public officials ; Educational administration officers course focused on facility safety, maintenance and disaster countermeasure. Educational officials in technical post course addressing approval and permission of school facility projects, seismic reinforcement of school building, etc. Educational supervisors course covering roles and responsibilities of the school safety supervisors in the event of disaster. Teaching staffs course focused on safety instructions for students. Fourth, it is found that lectures and experiential learning methods are the most desirable methods of teaching and learning, and the major ranks are earthquake disaster, fire, gas, typhoon, school road, and electrical safety.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the perception and demand of industrial sites necessary for the development of ICT-based products for young child, to seek effective support plans for ICT-based young child product developers that help with smart child rearing in the era of low birthrate. To this end, first, it was found that various and active promotions of specialized organizations or centers that have jointly utilized equipment are necessary. Second, it was found that many companies were willing to use equipment for the development of ICT-based young child's products. Third, the demand for corporate support was to provide information, equipment utilization, technical guidance and biometric information. Based on these results, it was proposed to expand related infrastructure that can efficiently support the development of ICT-based products for young child.

"Dangerous Media vs. Reliable Childcare Helper" : Discursive Analysis of Infants' Smart Media Use ('위험한 미디어 vs 든든한 육아 도우미' : 영유아 스마트 미디어 이용 담론에 대한 탐구)

  • The study examines how the discourse on infants' smart media use has been constructed under media-saturated situations. Infants' use of smart media has been regarded as a dangerous activity, rate of overdependence has been increasing. Newspapers during the recent three years (2018-20) were analyzed. The most prominent speakers in the news field were smart media content producers and platform operators. There were negative views and concerns about infants' smart media use by academics, civic groups, and parents. However, the industry went beyond these risk discourses and gave positive meaning: Smart media was redefined as safe media for infants and reliable childcare helpers for parents. Parents were portrayed as those responsible for their children's media use and in need of help for childcare, rather than being blamed for their children's overdependence on smart media. Digital parenting seems to be emerging as an acceptable and practicable way of childcare rather than harmful and incomplete parenting.

Metaphor Analysis of 'Children' Perceived by Pre-service Childcare Teachers (예비보육교사가 인식한 '영유아'에 대한 은유 분석)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the meaning of children perceived by pre-service childcare teachers through metaphor analysis. To this end, data were collected from a group of 288 pre-service childcare teachers majoring in childcare at a university in Gyeonggi-do from the 4th week of May until the 2nd week of June 2021. As a result of the study, the meaning of children was categorized into 'being in need of care,' 'being affected by the environment,' 'being with personality,' 'precious and invaluable being,' 'being giving joy,' 'being who will lead the future,' 'pure and innocent being,' and 'being who develops teachers and parents.' Pre-service teachers showed the highest tendency to perceive children as 'beings in need of care' among the eight categories. The metaphorical expressions, 'sprout,' 'seed,' 'flower,' 'canvas,' 'sponge,' and 'mirror,' in descending order of frequency, were most commonly used among 138 metaphorical expressions. The findings of this study are expected to broaden the understanding of the pre-service teachers' perception of children and provide preliminary data for qualitative support and improvement plans for training pre-service childcare teachers in the future.

Direction of Introduction of Natural Light when Designing Space for Infant and Toddler Daycare Centers (영유아 어린이집 공간설계 시 자연광 도입의 방향성)

  • Human beings going through a series of identification and adaptation steps from the external environment is deeply related to survival, and the physical and mental development process has the task of each growth period. In particular, infants and children are the most active time to take various information from the surrounding environment and develop balanced actions and thinking. Therefore, the space that supports the development of infants and children should be created into a meaningful environment beyond aesthetic and functional roles as a space that provides various senses and experiences. First, this study understood the concept of infant development and 'light environment' and analyzed the need. Second, the relationship between natural light and infants was identified. Third, the characteristics of the inflow of natural light applied to the space were derived by analyzing how the identified functions could be utilized, and based on this, the current status of daycare centers was analyzed to discuss the necessity and direction of 'introduction of natural light'. We hope that this study will be used as a meaningful basis for the active introduction of natural light in the future space design of daycare centers.

Pre-primary early childhood teachers' perception of the subject of 'Infant Teaching and Learning Methods' in the Early Childhood Teacher Training Course (유아교원양성과정에서 '영유아 교수·학습방법' 교과목에 대한 예비유아교사의 인식)

  • This study is a study on the perceptions of pre-primary early childhood teachers on teaching and learning methods for infants and toddlers in the early childhood teacher training process. This is a mixed study using word cloud analysis and qualitative case analysis on the subject, focusing on literature research and understanding of pre-primary early childhood teachers' 'teaching and learning methods for infants and toddlers'. The purpose of this study was to find out the meaning of a early childhood teacher through thoughts on teaching and learning methods for infants, difficulties, points to be learned, teaching competency to be good as a teacher, and experiences for teaching professionalism. Through the results of this study, it is expected to find a way to increase their sense of efficacy on teaching and learning methods when conducting classes for young children in the future, and to provide basic data for improving the quality of early childhood education.

Analysis of Research Trends of Early Childhood Teachers' Empowerment: Korean Articles Published in 2005 Through 2022 (영유아교사의 임파워먼트 관련 연구동향 분석: 2005년~2022년 국내 학술지 논문 중심으로)

  • The purpose of the study was to analyze research trends of Korean articles on early childhood teachers' empowerment published in 2005 through 2022. For this purpose, 87 articles were selected and analyzed by years, research methods, and research themes. As results, Korean article on early childhood teachers' empowerment was first published in 2005 and then continuously conducted every year until 2022. In terms of research methods, 'quantitative research', 'survey questionnaire', and 'analysis of effects' were shown the most. In addition, 'early childhood teacher' and 'daycare center' showed more distribution and 'the scale developed by Short and Rinehart' was most used. As research themes, the most studies have investigated 'influence of empowerment'. Based on the results, we discuss and suggest on future research.
