  • This study is to find out the effectiveness by Infant CPR method of a single rescuer. It was conducted for 51 general public. And typical infant CPR method by a single rescuer and a new method, CPR with two thumb chest compressions wrapped in both hands over the head were compared. SPSS 22.0 was used as an analysis method and to compare the both CPR methods, Paired t-test was used. As a result of the study, the average chest compression depth(39.38±1.07 mm) by CPR with two thumb chest compressions wrapped in both hands over the head was significantly high(p<0.001). Ease of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation(p<0.001), convenience of CPR method(p<0.001), and finger pain level(p<0.001) had a significant difference. As for the preference of the CPR method, 80.4%(41 people) preferred CPR with two thumb chest compressions wrapped in both hands over the head. In this study, CPR with two thumb chest compressions wrapped in both hands over the head showed more effective results than typical CPR method. However, as a virtual study using mannequins, further research is needed to apply high-quality CPR methods to field.

  • Cardiac arrest is a series of conditions occur when the heart is stopped, regardless of the cause. one of the only ways to save a patient's life in the event of cardiac arrest is cardiopulmonary resuscitation, which is very important beacause it can maintain circulation through this technique, and high-quality CPR affects the survival rate and neurological prognosis of the patient. For infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation, use two finger to compress the chest. Hower, this method can be diffcult to reach the chest commpressions recommended by the American Heart Association because of the anatomically increased fatigue of the fingers and diffculty of vertical pressure. The study aims to verify the effects of new chest compressions in the implementation of chest compressions during infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The study also showed singnificant differences in chest depth and average rate of pressure(p<0.001). Based on the results of this study, we can see that the accuracy of the new chest compressions during infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation is increased, and the depth of chest compressions is improved, improving the quality index of chest compressions.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of infant CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) immediate remediation[LAB2]. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent comparison group pre-post test design. Participants were 73 child care teachers in J district in Seoul. The experimental group (35) received immediate remediation with video learning [LAB3]for infant CPR education and the control group (38) received video learning only. We investigated confidence of infant CPR and tested single-rescuer infant CPR performance depending on a checklist (8 items). Data were collected before and right after to evaluate the confidence of infant CPR and before, right after and 2 weeks after the education to evaluate the skill performance and final acceptance. Results: There was a significant increase in confidence of infant CPR in the experimental group and control group. There was a statistically significant difference in the degree of skill performance between groups according to the amount time (F=10.58, p<.001). The degree of skill performance was tested two weeks after the education and immediate remediation was 5.35 times more effective compared to the video image demonstration (B=1.677, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings provide the necessity of immediate remediation education of infant CPR to increase confidence and skill performance ability.

  • The purpose of this study is to increase efficiency and accuracy in operation of CPR(Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) through comparing accuracy in CPR between group with verbal order and group with non-verbal order given carrying out CPR. This study performed convenience sampling targeting 62 students(31 people for group with non-verbal order, 31 people for group with verbal order) at university where is located in G Province. Survey period was carried out from October 7, 2010 to October 21. Analytical method was made by using SPSS WIN(Version 12.0). As a result of research, the group with non-verbal order was indicated to be higher in accuracy of CPR on artificial respiration and chest compression in several spheres than the group with verbal order. Based on this, the non-verbal order method needs to try to be applied to performing education and skills of CPR in the future. And, even a continuous research is needed on effectiveness between verbal order method and non-verbal order method in an emergency situation.
