다중분광 자료를 이용한 영상기반의 대기보정 연구

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the image-based atmospheric correction models using the data from Landsat Enhanced Thermal Mapper Plus (ETM+) that have quite similar spectral characteristics to the forthcoming KOrea Multi-Purpose SATellite (KOMPSAT)-2 Multi-Spectral Camera (MSC), and the in-situ measured surface reflectance data during satellite overflight. The main advantage of this type of correction is that it does not require in-situ measurements during each satellite overflight. While substantial differences are present between Top-Of-the Atmosphere (TOA) reflectance and in-situmeasurements, the results showed that Case 1 based on COST model gives most accurate results among three cases. The accuracy of Case 2_1 is very close to Case 1 and its values are smaller than in-situ data. No notable features appear between some bands in the Case 3_1 and in-situ data. It is expected from this study that if the current methods are applied to the IKONOS high resolution data, we will be able to develop the suitable atmospheric correction methods for MSC data.

Iterative Data Completion for Limited Angle Tomography using Filtered Backprojection (각도 제한 단층영상재구성을 위한 여현 역투사 기반 반복적 데이터 완결 기법)

  • When the range of projection angles is limited, tomographic reconstruction suffers from artifacts caused by incomplete data. One can consider a data completion technique, which estimates projection data at unobserved angles using a prior knowledge or mathematical exploration, but the result is often not improved; the improvement by the data completion often undermined by the artifacts by inaccurate estimation, In this paper, we propose an iterative method, which computes projection data at unobserved angles by using the current estimate on the image, links the computed projection data to the observed ones by using the consistence condition of Radon transform, and reconstruct the next estimate on the image by filtered backprojection. The proposed method does not require a prior knowledge on the image, and has much faster approximation rate than the expectation maximization method. The performance of the proposed method was tested through several simulation studies.

  • This paper introduces the inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR) imaging technique for rear view target of an automobile, which uses both linear frequency modulation-frequency shift keying(LFM-FSK) waveform and monopulse tracking. LFM-FSK waveform consists of two sequential stepped frequency waveforms with some frequency offset, and thus, can be used to generate ISAR images of rear view target of an automobile. However, ISAR images can often be blurred due to non-uniform change rate of relative aspect angle between radar and target. In order to address this problem, one-dimensional(1-D) Lagrange interpolation technique in conjunction with angle information obtained from the monopulse tracking is applied to generate uniform data across the radar's aspect angle. Simulation results show that the proposed method can provide focused ISAR images.

  • 중수로(CANDU) 형 월성 원자력발전소의 칼란드리아 압력관 전면부를 감시점검하기 위한 열영상 관측시스템을 설계/제작하였다. 중수로는 가동중에 핵연료를 교체한다. 칼란드리아 전면부에는 380 개의 압력관 채널이 위치하고 있다. 핵연료를 교체할 시에 핵연료 교체장비가 칼란드리아 압력관 채널의 ENDCAP을 열고 핵연료를 장전하는 과정에서 발생할 지도 모르는 중수누출, 핵연료교체장비의 이상상태를 점검하는데 목적이 있다. 열영상카메라는 상용 CCD 카메라에 비해 영상의 해상도가 떨어진다. CCD 카메라는 수증기 누출과 같은 육안검사에 활용하고, 열영상카메라는 압력관 채널의 온도변화 등을 점검하기 위해 CCD/열영상카메라의 융합구조로 설계/제작하였다.

  • This paper describes a multi-scale user interaction based tiled display visualization system using multiple input devices for monitoring and analyzing Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) observation satellite imagery. This system provides multi-touch screen, Kinect motion sensing, and moblie interface for multiple users to control the satellite imagery either in front of the tiled display screen or far away from a distance to view marine environmental or climate changes around Korean peninsular more effectively. Due to a large amount of memory required for loading high-resolution GOCI satellite images, we employed the multi-level image load technique where the image was divided into small tiled images in order to reduce the load on the system and to be operated smoothly by user manipulation. This system performs the abstraction of common input information from multi-user Kinect motion and gestures, multi-touch points and mobile interaction information to enable a variety of user interactions for any tiled display application. In addition, the unit of time corresponding to the selected date of the satellite images are sequentially displayed on the screen and multiple users can zoom-in/out, move the imagery and select buttons to trigger functions.

  • 본 논문에서 제안하는 버블(Bubble) 크기 보정 기법은 영상의 히스토그램의 모드법에 의한 최적의 임계값을 결정함으로써 버블의 크기를 정확하게 측정하는 기술이다. 제안하는 기술은 Ladle 탕면을 관측할 수 있는 CCD 카메라에 의한 측정시스템을 구현하며, 관측된 영상으로부터 방면거리, 버블크기 등을 알고리듬에 의해 구하여 탕의 용강 성분을 제어하기 위한 데이터를 제공하기 위하여 전송하게 된다. 본 논문에서 제안한 기법을 적용하여 실험한 결과 기존의 알고리듬에 의한 단순한 계산 및 히스토그램의 중간치 계산에 의한 결과와 비교하여 0.9%의 오차범위에서 개선된 버블크기를 얻을 수 있었다.

Attitude Scenarios of Star Observation for Image Validation of Remote Sensing Satellite (영상검정을 위한 지구관측위성의 별 관측 자세 시나리오 생성 기법)

  • An optical payload needs to be validated its image performance after launched into orbit. The image performance was validated by observing star because ground site contains uncertainties caused by atmosphere, time of the year, and weather. Time Delayed and Integration(TDI) technique, which is mostly used to observe the ground, is going to be used to observe the selected stars. A satellite attitude scenario was also developed to observe the selected stars. The scenario is created to enable TDI to operate. Rotation angles of optical payload are determined in order for the selected stars to properly be passed at a desired angular velocity about rotation axis. The result of this research can be utilized to validate the quality of optical payload of a satellite in orbit. In addition, a quaternion for pointing selected stars is calculated minimizing the path from a given arbitrary attitude of satellite.

Tracking of Internal Waves Observed by SAR in the Time Series of Temperature Profile Data (시계열 등온선 자료에서의 SAR로 관측된 내부파의 추적 연구)

  • An abundance of internal waves is observed by SAR in the Yellow Sea during summer. They are small scaled internal waves and are not relatively studied well compared to the ones in the East/South China Sea. These internal waves should be considered in the study of physio-biological properties of the Yellow Sea because the mixing of the stratified surface water caused by internal waves during summer is important for ocean biological environment, and they also affect the sediment transport and acoustic signal transmission in the continental shelf region. To understand the characteristics of internal waves, it is important to get the spatio-temporal information of internal waves simultaneously by executing in-situ measurements as well as the SAR observation. This study tracks the internal waves observed by SAR in the time series of temperature profile data by analyzing simultaneously acquired in-situ measurement data and RADARSAT SAR image on 29 May 2002.

Reduction of Spectral Distortion in PAN-sharpening Using Spectral Adjustment and Anisotropic Diffusion (분광 조정과 비등방성 확산에 의한 PAN-Sharpened 영상의 분광 왜곡 완화)

  • This paper proposes a scheme to reduce spectral distortion in PAN-sharpening which produces a MultiSpectral image (MS) with the higher resolution of PANchromatic image (PAN). The spectral distortion results from reconstructing spatial details of PAN image in the MS image. The proposed method employs Spectral Adjustment and Anisotropic Diffusion to make a reduction of the distortion. The spectral adjustment makes the PAN-sharpened image agree with the original MS image, but causes block distortion because the spectral response of a pixel in the lower resolution is assumed to be equal to the average response of the pixels belonging to the corresponding area in the higher resolution at a same wavelength. The block distortion is corrected by the anisotropic diffusion which uses a conduct coefficient estimating from a local computation of PAN image. It results in yielding a PAN-sharpened image with the spatial structure of PAN image. GSA is one of PAN-sharpening techniques which are efficient in computation as well as good in quantitative quality evaluation. This study suggests the GSA as a preliminary PAN-sharpening method. Two data sets were used in the experiment to evaluate the proposed scheme. One is a Dubaisat-2 image of $1024{\times}1024$ observed at Los Angeles area, USA on February, 2014, the other is an IKONOS of $2048{\times}2048$ observed at Anyang, Korea on March, 2002. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme yields the PAN-sharpened images which have much less spectral distortion and better quantitative quality evaluation.

  • KMTNet에서는 프로젝트의 소개와 운영현황 등 파악하기 위해 웹서비스를 운영하고 있다. 홈페이지(http://kmtnet.kasi.re.kr; 국문, 영문)에는 최신 뉴스와 공지사항, 실시간 모니터링 영상 및 기상정보, 관측일정, 관측자료 공개, 활용성과 등을 게시 하였고, 관측 결과와 운영 정보 관리를 위해서 모니터링 홈페이지(kmtnet-monitor)를 제작하였다. KMTNet은 남반구 3개 관측소에 상주하는 현지 관측자에 의해 관측이 이루어지기 때문에, 국내 연구자가 남반구 관측소 현황을 파악할 수 있는 모니터링 시스템이 필수적이다. 웹서비스에 실시간 기상과 관측자료 전송속도를 함께 표시하여 관측 진행 여부를 확인할 수 있으며, 관측일지를 데이터베이스화하여 망원경/카메라/관측돔의 이상 유무, 관측 현황, 기상/시상 통계 등으로 활용하고 있다. 여기서는 지금까지 개발한 웹 서비스를 소개하고 앞으로 관측소 운영에 유용한 정보와 웹 서비스의 발전 방향에 대해 논의하고자 한다.
