  • This paper describes the characteristics analysis of surface permanent magnet linear synchronous motor with conductive sheet secondary using time-stepped finite element method. The detent force, normal force, back-emf and dynamic characteristics as speed, thrust and current are described.

  • The problem in improving the positioning precision of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) is the large detent force caused by the permanent magnet. The detent force is thought to arise from the difference of the position of a permanent magnet end and a tooth position. In this paper, Three methods of reducing detent force is presented The first method is adjusting the width of permanent magnet. The second method is varying the shape of armature teeth. The third method is the arrangement of the permanent magnet end. This paper compares with the ratio of reducing the detent force according to the three methods.

  • This paper describes the direct thrust control of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) with the secondary aluminium sheet. The time stepped finite element method and moving mesh technique are used for simulating dynamic characteristics of the PMLSM. The secondary back-iron conductivity as well as the initial flux linkage due to permanent magnet are considered in the simulation.

  • This paper presents a direct thrust control scheme for permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) by using digital signal processor(DSP). And a simulation method for the direct thrust control of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor using the equivalent circuit is presented. The detent force that was obtained by cubic spline method is considered in the simulation. Thrust correction coefficient is utilized to estimate actual thrust on the direct thrust control, which considers the longitudinal end effect due to the finite core length of the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor. The motor self inductance, the initial flux linkage by the permanent magnet is calculated in advance by the finite element analysis, and then the direct control simulation is carried out. As the results, thrust, current and speed are shwon.

  • This paper describes a moving mesh technique for dynamic characteristics analysis of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor with the secondary aluminium sheet. The moving mesh technique applied to the linear induction motor can be used to analyze the linear synchronous motor with the rectangular permanent magnet. But in case of the permanent magnet with taper, the shape of the permanent magnet is presented. The time-stepped finite element method is used for the dynamic characteristics simulation of the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor, The results of application example(hysteresis current controlled inverter fed control) such as thrust, current and flux plots are shown.

  • This paper deals with the dynamic characteristic analysis of a linear synchronous motor with surface type permanent magnets using time-stepped finite clement method. The secondary back-iron conductivity is considered in the field analysis. As a result, we can investigate dynamic characteristics as well as some performances like attractive force and input power.

  • The severe problem in improving the positioning precision of a permanent linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) is the large detent force caused by the PM. It is generally an undesired effect that contributes to the torque ripple, vibration and noise of machine. In this paper, the method to reduce detent force according to the mover skew is studied and analyzed using the analytical method. The analytical results are validated by finite clement analyses.

  • In this paper, a control method based on finite element analysis is presented to reduce the thrust ripple of the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM). In the control method, additional compensation current is added to the conventional control current according to the position of mover. The exact value of the compensation current is calculated from finite element analysis. To conform the validity of the presented method, a test set is built and experiments are performed.

  • 본 논문은 IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)의 센서리스 운전을 위해 확장 칼만 필터를 기반으로 하는 속도와 위치 추정기의 설계방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 상태 추정의 정밀도를 향상시키기 위해서 시스템 모델의 상태추정구간을 더욱 세분화하여 나누고, 세분화한 각 구간을 테일러급수 전개하여 일차항만 사용하여 추정하였다. 제안된 상태 추정기는 2차 확장칼만필터에 비해 사전추정의 연산의 양을 크게 하지 않고, 상태추정의 정밀도가 증가함을 시뮬레이션을 통해 보일 수 있었다.

  • This paper presents the characteristic analysis and experiment of force characteristics in permanent magnet linear synchronous motor for accuracy prediction of linear motion machine tools. In particular, the pitching moment resulting from attraction force ripple has been analysed and tested. Firstly, we analysed the characteristics of detent force, attraction force, and pitching moment in permanent magnet linear synchronous motor according to the design techniques such as auxiliary teeth, chamfering, and permanent magnet skewing. In addition, we suggested the experimental set for measurement of pitching moment. Finally, the results from measurement shows the good agreement with those obtained from finite element analysis results.
