  • 최근 우리 나라의 연안은 갯녹음으로 황폐화되고 있으며, 이로 인하여 유용 수산자원이 감소하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 갯녹음 현상은 서식지 환경요인들이 복합적으로 작용하고 있는 생태계의 변화로 연안의 암반은 산호말류로 피복되며 이들이 죽어서 하얗게 변하는 현상(정치ㆍ추강, 1980)으로서, 해중림과 산호말류 군집이 서로의 극상을 반복하는 생태적 현상으로 설명되기도 한다(중구, 1996). 갯녹음 지역의 유용 해중림 복원과 관련하여 갯녹음의 원인생물로 알려져 있는 포복성 산호조류의 종류와 그 생태를 파악하는 것은 무엇보다 시급한 과제이며 산호조류의 포자방출 패턴은 파악하는 것은 해중림 복원을 위한 효과적인 인공어초 투입의 시기를 결정하는데 중요한 요인이 된다. Five-year monitoring of microbial ecosystem dynamics in the coastal waters of the Yeongheungdo island, Incheon, Korea (대한민국 인천 영흥도 인근 해역 미소생태계의 5년간의 군집구조 변화 모니터링)

  • In this study, changes in the microbial ecosystem of the Yeongheungdo island coastal waters were investigated for five years to collect basic data. To evaluate the influence of distance from the coast on the microbial ecosystem, four sites, coastal Site (S1) and 0.75, 1.5, and 3 km away from the coast, were set up and the changes in physicochemical and biological factors were monitored. The results showed seasonal changes in water temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity, and pH but with no significant differences between sites. For nutrients, the concentration of dissolved inorganic nitrogen increased from 6.4 μM in April-June to 16.4 μM in July-November, while that of phosphorus and silicon phosphate increased from 0.4 μM and 2.5 μM in April-June to 1.1 μM and 12.0 μM in July-November, respectively. Notably, phosphorus phosphate concentrations were lower in 2014-2015 (up to 0.2 μM) compared to 2016-2018 (up to 2.2 μM), indicating phosphorus limitation during this period. However, there were no differences in nutrients with distance from the coast, indicating that there was no effect of distance on nutrients. Phytoplankton (average 511 cells mL-1) showed relatively high biomass (up to 3,370 cells mL-1) in 2014-2015 when phosphorus phosphate was limited. Notably, at that time, the concentration of dissolved organic carbon was not high, with concentrations ranging from 1.1-2.3 mg L-1. However, no significant differences in biological factors were observed between the sites. Although this study revealed that there was no disturbance of the ecosystem, further research and more basic data on the microecosystem are necessary to understand the ecosystem of the Incheon.

Network Analysis of Domestic and Foreign Marine Ecosystem Management Plans (국내외 해양생태계 관리계획의 네트워크 분석)

  • Many countries have established and implemented marine ecosystem management plans to solve various problems arising from excessive development and use of marine and coastal areas. In this study, network analysis was applied to compare and understand marine ecosystem management's direction and characteristics in Korea and other maritime countries. The results showed that the words 'strengthen,' 'promote,' 'improve,' and 'establish' were the keywords used a lot in domestic and foreign marine ecosystem management plans. Establishing a foundation for marine ecosystem management, establishing international cooperation and partnerships, and strengthening climate change adaptation was commonly included. However, there were some differences in detailed management plans. In foreign countries, it aims to present management measures for certain species and improve the existing institutional foundation. Still, in Korea, it aims to strengthen the comprehensive management of marine life and establish an institutional foundation for marine ecosystems. This study is expected to help understand the direction of domestic and overseas marine ecosystem management and establish a domestic marine ecosystem management plan in the future.

  • 연안매립 및 신항만 건설, 해안선 정비사업 등과 같은 대규모 공사는 인근 해역에서의 해수유동의 변화와 해수의 혼탁도 증가 및 퇴적물의 침식과 퇴적에 의한 해저 지형의 변형을 초래하고, 이로 인해 기존 항로의 매몰과 해양생물 생태계 변화 등과 같은 문제점을 유발한다는 것은 잘 알려진 사실이다. 특히 한국의 서해연안 대부분과 남해연안 일부에 분포되어 있는 미세-점착성 퇴적물은 사질성 퇴적물과는 달리 퇴적물에서 부유된 토사 입자의 침강 속도가 아주 작아서, 파랑과 조류 등과 같은 해수유동에서 의해 쉽게 이동되어 현저한 해저 지형의 변형을 초래한다.   • 광양만은 여천산업단지, 광양제철소, 광양콘테이너부두, 하동화력 등 국가기간 시설이 밀집되어있고, 여러 도시로 둘러 쌓여 있는 반폐쇄적 내만으로 해양생태학적 관심이 집중되고 있는 지역중의 한곳이다. 광양만은 1982년 10월 연안오염특별관리해역으로 지정된 이후 많은 조사가 수행되었고, 앞으로 대단위 연안 매립사업이 예정되어 있어 체계적이고 장기적인 연안환경 관리가 필요한 시점에 있다(박 등, 1984; 윤과 박, 1992; 여수대학교, 1997; 환경부, 1998; 수산진흥원, 1999), 본 연구는 광양만 수질 및 해양퇴적물의 이·화학적 특성을 조사하여 광양만권역 종합오염도 평가 및 해양생태계 관리에 필요한 기초자료를 확보할 목적으로 조사되었다. A Study on Categorizing Ecosystem Groups for Climate Change Risk Assessment - Focused on Applicability of Land Cover Classification - (기후변화 리스크 평가를 위한 생태계 유형분류 방안 검토 - 국내 토지피복분류 적용성을 중심으로 -)

  • This study showed the national ecosystem classification for the spatial standards of ecosystems-based approaches to the risk assessments and adaptation plan. The characteristics of climate change risk assessment, implement national adaptation plans, and ecosystem/habitat classification status was evaluated. Focusing on the land cover classification widely utilized as spatial data for the assessments of biodiversity and ecosystem services in the UK and other countries in Europe, the applicability of the national land cover classification for climate change risk assessments was reviewed. Considering the ecosystem classification for climate change risk assessment and establishing adaptation measures, it is difficult to apply rough classification method to the land cover system because of lack of information on habitat trend by categorization. The results indicated that forest ecosystems and agro-ecosystem occupied 62.3% and 25.0% of land cover, respectively, of the entire country. Although the area is small compared with the land area, wetland ecosystem (2.9%), marine ecosystem (0.4%), coastal ecosystem (0.6%), and urban ecosystem (6.1%) can be included in the risk assessments. Therefore, it is necessary to subdivide below the medium classification for the forest and agricultural land, as well as Inland wetland, which has a higher proportion of habitat preference of taxa than land area, marine/coastal habitat, and transition areas such as urban and natural ecosystem.

  • 식물플랑크톤은 여러 환경요인들의 변화와 해역의 해양학적 특성에 따라서 매우 다른 형태의 군집구조를 나타내고(Legendre and Legendre,1978), 물리적, 화학적 환경요인의 변동에 따라 종조성이나 출현수에 있어서 뚜렷한 변동을 보이므로 생태계의 구조와 기능을 이해하는데 중요한 역할을 한다(Smayda,1978). 식물플랑크톤의 군집구조는 해양생태구조 파악이나 해역의 환경지표 및 효율적 해역이용관리를 위해 무엇보다 우선 파악되어야하며(Gou and Zang, 1996), 생태계의 구조와 기능을 이해하기 위해서는 식물플랑크톤의 분포양상 및 군집구조를 환경요인과 같이 연구하는 것이 필수적이다.   • Due to floating marine debris, seabed litters, dead shellfishes and polluted sediments, etc. , which are mainly caused by fishery activities in a large scale around the coastline, expansion of industrialized areas from economic development and drastic increase of free time by the improved standard of living, Korean coast is believed to be cast beyond the self purification of marine ecosystem. Seabed litters, if not remedied in a timely manner, will eventually lead to the overall disorder of benthic ecosystem. Thus, in order to prevent marine ecosystem from being thrown into confusion by seabed litters and to restore ocean environments, it is reasonable to investigate the current status of the seabed litters by carrying out an extensive examination on them and to equip ourselves for marine debris with an systemized tool that provides supports to the building process of an efficient methodology of litters disposal through managing related data appropriately. As an primary step to this goal, a systematic method of investigation is presented in this paper. With this methodology, the present state of the seabed titters is properly understood for the specified list of ports.

  • Wetland is the ecotone between aquatic ecosystem and land ecosystem, and is much valuable in terms of ecology and economic. The stream wetland among inland fresh wetlands occupies the largest area but has been recognized as only a channel not a habitat. The purposes of this paper are to consider the characteristics of natural wetlands formed in the tributary flowing into the downstream reach of Nakdong River and to find its optimal management policy. Natural wetlands in the middle-size streams (2nd${\sim}$3rd order) are large marshlands, and were formed at the places from the mainstream away, because natural wetlands were formed in the reach of longitudinal profiles during the last glacial and the post-glacial period meet in disharmony. In order to conserve these natural wetlands effectively, we should compile the inventories of wetlands and make precise distribution maps. And we should do 'reverse-reclamation' which means the alteration of some farmlands reclaimed from natural wetland into natural wetland ecosystem, and develop the place or the space for wildlife education and ecotourism.
