The Improvement of the Representation Scope of ZigBee Semi-Precision Number Data Type (ZigBee 준정밀수 데이터형의 표현 구간 개선 방안)

  • 최근 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 시대에 가까워지면서, 다양한 형태의 소형센서를 무선네트웍으로 연결하여 일정 범위 내의 다양한 정보를 수집하여 이용할 수 있는 무선센서네트웍시스템에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행중이다. 현재 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 무선센서네트웍 아키텍처는 IEEE 802.15.4에 제안된 MAC과 ZigBee Alliance에서 개발된 ZigBee를 이용한 것이다. ZigBee에는 네트웍계층, 응용프레임웍 등 많은 기능과 규격이 포함되어 있으며, 그 중 응용프레임웍에는 각 센서장치들 간의 통신을 원활하게 하기 위하여 여러 가지 데이터 형이 정의되어 있다. ZigBee 응용프레임웍에 정의되어 있는 여러 데이터형 중 준정밀수형(semi-precision number type)은 수의 절대값이 작은 범위에서는 높은 해상도로 수를 표현할 수 있고 절대값이 큰 범위일수록 상대적으로 낮은 해상도로 수를 표현할 수 있어, 빛의 강도, 소리의 크기 등 그 크기를 표현함에 있어 절대값에 반비례하는 해상도로 표현하여도 무방한 경우 매우 유용하게 사용된다. 그러나 현재 ZigBee에서 정의한 준정밀수형은 높은 해상도로 표현되어야 하는 구간 중 특정 구간에서 해당 값을 표현할 수 없는 구간이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 준정밀수의 특징과 문제점을 살펴보고, 이러한 문제를 해결할 수 있는 새로운 형식의 준정밀수형을 제안한다.

A Case Study of Software Architecture Design by Applying the Quality Attribute-Driven Design Method (품질속성 기반 설계방법을 적용한 소프트웨어 아키텍처 설계 사례연구)

  • in a software development, the design or architecture prior to implementing the software is essential for the success. This paper presents a case that we successfully designed a software architecture of radiation monitoring system (RMS) for HANARO research reactor currently operating in KAERI by applying the quality attribute-driven design method which is modified from the attribute-driven design (ADD) introduced by Bass[1]. The quality attribute-driven design method consists of following procedures: eliciting functionality and quality requirements of system as architecture drivers, selecting tactics to satisfy the drivers, determining architectures based on the tactics, and implementing and validating the architectures. The availability, maintainability, and interchangeability were elicited as duality requirements, hot-standby dual servers and weak-coupled modulization were selected as tactics, and client-server structure and object-oriented data processing structure were determined at architectures for the RMS. The architecture was implemented using Adroit which is a commercial off-the-shelf software tool and was validated based on performing the function-oriented testing. We found that the design method in this paper is an efficient method for a project which has constraints such as low budget and short period of development time. The architecture will be reused for the development of other RMS in KAERI. Further works are necessary to quantitatively evaluate the architecture.

Security of Ethernet in Automotive Electric/Electronic Architectures (차량 전자/전기 아키텍쳐에 이더넷 적용을 위한 보안 기술에 대한 연구)

  • One of the major trends of automotive networking architecture is the introduction of automotive Ethernet. Ethernet is already used in single automotive applications (e.g. to connect high-data-rate sources as video cameras), it is expected that the ongoing standardization at IEEE (IEEE802.3bw - 100BASE-T1, respectively IEEE P802.3bp - 1000BASE-T1) will lead to a much broader adoption in future. Those applications will not be limited to simple point-to-point connections, but may affect Electric/Electronic(EE) Architectures as a whole. It is agreed that IP based traffic via Ethernet could be secured by application of well-established IP security protocols (e.g., IPSec, TLS) combined with additional components like, e.g., automotive firewall or IDS. In the case of safety and real-time related applications on resource constraint devices, the IP based communication is not the favorite option to be used with complicated and performance demanding TLS or IPSec. Those applications will be foreseeable incorporate Layer-2 based communication protocols as, e.g., currently standardized at IEEE[13]. The present paper reflects the state-of-the-art communication concepts with respect to security and identifies architectural challenges and potential solutions for future Ethernet Switch-based EE-Architectures. It also gives an overview and provide insights into the ongoing security relevant standardization activities concerning automotive Ethernet. Furthermore, the properties of non-automotive Ethernet security mechanisms as, e.g., IEEE 802.1AE aka. MACsec or 802.1X Port-based Network Access Control, will be evaluated and the applicability for automotive applications will be assessed.

  • Single domain model like DataLake framework is in spotlight because it can improve data efficiency and process data smarter in big data environment, where large scaled business system generates huge amount of data. In particular, efficient operation of network, storage, and computing resources in logical single domain model is very important for physically partitioned multi-site data process. Based on the advantages of Data Lake framework, we define and extend the concept of Connected Data Architecture and functions of DataLake framework for integrating multiple sites in various domains and managing the lifecycle of data. Also, we propose the design of CDA-based AI service and utilization scenarios in various application domain.

  • With the rapid development of advanced science and technology including the 4th industrial revolution, the future battlefield environment is evolving at a rapid pace. In order to actively respond to issues such as reduction of military resources and shortening of service period, and to emphasize the realization of human-centered values, the Ministry of National Defense is re-establishing the role of the Army in accordance with the defense reform and is promoting the Warrior Platform, a next-generation individual combat system. In this paper, we intend to present the optimal warrior platform architecture suitable for the Korean Army by realizing the concept of future ground operations and analyzing overseas cases. We analyze the essential abilities required of individual combatants and the abilities required for each unit type, and specifically presents a plan for integration and linkage of warrior platform equipment. We also propose an efficient business promotion direction by presenting the data flow and power connection diagram between the devices that need integration and interworking.

  • In Korea, for the past 50 years, industrial parks have played an important role in economic growth as a cluster of national key industries. However, due to various problems of these old industrial parks, they are weakening competitiveness. It is necessary to be converted into a model for the management and fostering of high-tech industrial complex park by classifying them into development plans, management plans, and support plans according to types and characteristics of industrial parks. For this purpose, we propose CIPs (Connected-Industrial parks) using new technologies such as Cloud Computing, RFID, WSN, CPS, and Big Data analysis based on IoT. It is a hub that supports various services in transportation, warehousing and manufacturing fields while possessing and operating physical assets as concept. each CIP (Connected-Industrial park) is connected and expanded Through such CIPs, network-type collaborative manufacturing and intelligent logistics innovation enables cost reduction, delivery shortening, quality improvement.

  • In this paper, we propose a SDN-based fog computing service mobility support scheme. Fog computing architecture has been attracted because it enables task offloading services to IoT(Internet of Things) devices which has limited computing and power resources. However, since static as well as mobile IoT devices are candidate service targets for the fog computing service, the efficient task offloading scheme considering the mobility should be required. Especially for the IoT services which need low-latency response, the new connection and task offloading delay with the new fog computing node after handover can occur QoS(Quality of Service) degradation. Therefore, this paper proposes an efficient service mobility support scheme which considers both task migration and flow rule pre-installations. Task migration allows for the service connectivity when the fog computing node needs to be changed. In addition, the flow rule pre-installations into the forwarding nodes along the path after handover enables to reduce the connection delay and service interruption time.

Development of Efficient User Navigation Interface for Client-side Mashups (클라이언트 매시업의 편리한 이동 사용자 인터페이스 개발)

  • Client based web mashups have become one of the most important architecture in web application development. Although there are well known methods to generate presentation view codes for web services, navigations between views and service requests are still developed manually in most web mashups. In this paper, we propose the concept of deterministic data binding from output data to input parameters of another method. Using binding relations, we can model navigation menus for service method requests. For a given set of data mappings between services, we investigate context dependent binding conditions and discuss the generation of views and navigation menus. The proposed approach provides UI for users to navigate services of client mashup page using simple and convenient interface even when the number of services and the size of the mashup page grows. In order to show the usability of the proposed approach, we present a historic tourism service.

  • The SoC bus topology is classified to single and multiple bus systems due to bus number. In single bus system, the selected only one master among the masters that try to initiate the bus transaction can execute its data transaction. On the other hand, in multiple bus system, as several buses that can be operated independently are connected with bridge, multiple data can be transferred parallel in each bus. However, In the case of data communication from one bus system to the other, data latency has remarkably increased in multiple bus. Furthermore, the performance of multiple bus can be easily different from master number, slave type and so on. In this paper, the performance of single and multiple bus architecture is compared and quantitatively analysed with the variation of master number and slave type especially a tying SDRAM, SRAM and register with TLM simulation method.

  • Several shared buses are divided hierarchically and connected with a bridge in the bus topology that consists of many components such as SoCs. Because the bridge topology is capable of the simultaneous communication of components in the several buses, the bus performance has improved definitely. However, when the inter-bus data transaction happens, the latency increases seriously in the bridge block. In this paper, a variety of bridge architectures are analyzed in the point of view of merit and demerit. Superior frying bridge topology is proposed in the aspects of performance, IP reusability, timing margin, gate count and circuit complexity. In contrast with the conventional bridge that has only a role to switch the inter-bus data, the frying bridge can communicate directly between the bus and the slave, which decreases the traffic overhead of a shared bus and improves the performance of a bridge communication.
