Electrochemical Reduction on the -S-N= Bond of N-Tert-butylbenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide (N-Tert-butylbenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide의-S-N = 결합에 대한 전기화학적 환원)

  • The electrochemical reduction of N-tert-butylbenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide (TBBS; vulcanization accelerator) was investigated by direct current, differential pulse polarography, cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry. The electrode reduction of TBBS proceeded E-C-E-C reaction mechanism by four electrons transfer at irreversible one wave (-2.31 volts vs. Ag/0.1M AgN$O_3$ in AN). As the results of controlled potential electrolysis, mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT), benzothiazole disulfide (MBT dimer) and extricated sulfur were products which followed by cleavage of the sulfenamide (-S-N=) bond. Upon the basis of products analysis and polarogram interpretation with pH variable, electrochemical reaction mechanism was suggested.

  • The electrochemical reduction of N-oxyldiethylenebenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide (ODBS; vulcanization accelerator) was investigated by direct current polarography, differential pulse polarography, cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry.   • This paper describe a method for measuring line impedance as a function of frequency for an energized powerline in normal operation. A small sinusoidal signal of a powerline communication utility frequency $30khz\~1Mhz$ band is continuously injected into the line, and a implemented impedance analyzer calculates the indoor powerline channel impedance from the measured magnitude and phase of resulting voltage and current. The impedance measurement is executed over a range of frequencies to produce a wideband impedance versus frequency characteristic. Implemented impedance analyzer can analysis powerline communication environments measuring line impedance due to load caused in indoor. And measured analysis information through the database can use to evaluate performance of modem and to decide test environment standard.

Small Size Directional Dipole Antenna for Mobile Communications (이동통신용 소형 방향성 다이폴 안테나)

  • In this paper, we present a small size and multiband directional dipole antenna for mobile communication repeaters. In the omni-directional dipole antenna, a planar reflector under the dipole provides improved directivity in front-direction with wide beamwidth. In order to miniaturize the directive dipole, the size of the reflector is reduced. A vertical stub on the reflector is proposed to enhance the front-directivity of the radiation pattern and mitigate the backward radiation due to the reduced reflector. Furthermore, we use horizontal stubs on edge of vertical stub to obtain additional reduction of the antenna size. To meet the current demand of wireless communication service, the designed antenna shows wideband characteristic by employing electromagnetic coupled two-dipoles with dual-resonance frequencies.

  • In this paper, To take advantage a variety of DC power as the boost DC-DC converter design specifications through the inductor L and capacitor C through PSPICE to calculate the best estimate of the value. Boost DC-DC converter with a switch device using IRF840 and reverse recovery time Schottky diodes with excellent with constant current controller using D10SC6M and resistance can be configured to considering the Power LED Module was driven by the production. Converter's switching frequency is 50 kHz, the first Duty Rate was made to increase gradually depending on the value of the detection were, 10 % in the output voltage. As a result, the simulated Boost Power LED driver characteristics is in comparison with the design specifications, 5% or less as the error was approximated. Finally, when input 15 V were offered, a stable output 24 V were obtained. and Dimming Control through the adjustment of brightness and current consumption were possible.

  • 테라헤르쯔(terahertz : THz)파는 0.1~10 THz 의 범위로 적외선과 방송파 사이에 광대역 주파수 스펙트럼을 차지하고 있으며 직진성, 투과성, 그리고 낮은 에너지(meV)를 가지고 있어 비 파괴적이고 무해한 장점을 지니고 있다. Ti:sapphire laser와 같은 femto-pulse source 등이 많은 발전이 되어 현재 많은 연구와 발전이 이루어지고 있다. femto-pulse source를 이용한 THz 응용에서는 높은 저항, 큰 전자이동도, 그리고 아주 짧은 전하수명의 기판을 요구하는데 저온에서 성장한(low-temperature grown : LT) InGaAs는 격자 내에 Gallium 자리에 Arsenic이 치환 하면서 AsGa antisite가 발생하여 전하수명을 짧아지는 것을 응용하여 가장 많이 이용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 보다 높은 저항을 얻기 위하여 molecular beam epitaxy를 이용하여 semi-insulating InP:Fe 기판위에 격자 정합된 LT-InGaAs:Be/InAlAs multi quantum well (MQW)를 well과 barrier를 가각 $10{\mu}m$ 씩 100주기 성장을 하였고 Ti와 Au를 각각 30, $200{\mu}m$로 dipole antenna를 제작 하였다. 이 때 Ti:sapphire femto-pulse laser (30 fs/90 MHz)를 excitation source로 사용하였을 때 9000 pA로 LT-InGaAs epilayer (180 pA)보다 50배 이상 큰 전류 신호를 얻을 수 있었다. THz 발생과 검출을 초소형, 초경량, 고효율로 하기 위해서는 fiber-optic를 이용해야 하는데 이때 분산과 산란 손실이 가장 적은 1550 nm 대역에서 많은 연구가 이루어 졌다. 780, 1560 nm의 mode-locking laser (90 fs/100 MHz)를 사용하여 현재 많이 이용되고 있는 Ti:sapphire femto-pulse laser와 비교하여 THz 특성 변화를 확인하는 연구를 진행 하고 있다.

A Non-isolated DC-DC Converter with High Step-up Ratio and Wide ZVS Range (고승압비와 넓은 ZVS 영역을 갖는 비절연 DC-DC 컨버터)

  • In the conventional boost converter, the actual duty cycle is limited as the output voltage increases due to increased voltage and current stress of the switch and diode and voltage surge caused by diode reverse recovery. In this paper a new non-isolated boost converter suitable for high gain applications is proposed. The proposed converter has voltage gain of around 6 when the duty cycle is 0.5. Since ZVS is achieved under CCM, the proposed converter has wide ZVS range. Also, voltage ratings of switch and diode are the same as one third of output voltage, and ratings of input and output passive components are reduced due to the interleaving. In addition voltage surge caused by diode reverse recovery is negligible due to ZCS turn-off of diodes. Operating principle of the proposed converter is described and validated through theoretical analysis, simulation and experiment.

Wide Tuning and Modulation Characteristics Analysis of Coupled-Ring Reflector Laser Diode (결합 링 반사기 레이저 다이오드의 광대역 파장 가변 및 변조 특성 해석)

  • A time-domain modeling approach is used to study characteristics of a widely tunable coupled-ring reflector (CRR) laser diode(LD). The CRR consists of a bus waveguide and two coupled ring resonators coupled to the bus without resorting to distributed Bragg grating structure. The tuning range can be a few tens of nanometers with a side mode suppression ratio exceeding 35dB through the adjustment of currents into the phase control sections in the rings. The CRR laser diode has long effective cavity length compared to conventional laser diodes. Accordingly, a broad additional resonance peak in the amplitude modulation characteristics is observed between 20 to 30 GHz, implying the extension of amplitude modulation bandwidth.

The Effects of Taking Elective Chemistry II Courses in High School on Understanding Concepts of Electrochemistry in General Chemistry: Focusing on Chemical Cell (고등학교 화학II 선택과목 이수가 대학 일반화학의 전기화학 관련 개념의 이해에 미치는 영향: 화학전지를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the conception type change and to investigate the effect of understanding on concepts in electrochemistry after general chemistry lessons. The significant differences in concept understanding of electrochemistry were shown in both groups. Statistically significant gains in both groups were as shown in distinguishing the chemical cell, in identifying the anode and cathode, and in understanding current formation and flow, while, significant achievements in understanding the role of the salt bridge, and the need for a standard half-cell were not found. Taking elective chemistry II in high school had an effect on understanding related concepts of electrochemistry in general chemistry lessons. It was shown that many freshmen had difficulties in understanding exact related concepts in several kinds after general chemistry lessons. In order to solve these problems, it is necessary to teach contents of the basic concepts in electrochemistry exactly and to hold supplementary lessons.

A Study on the Optical Bistable Characteristic of a Multi-Section DFB-LD (다전극 DFB-LD의 광 쌍안정 특성에 관한 연구)

  • A multi-section DFB-LD shows optical bistability subject to externally injected light signal, then it has potential applications such as wavelength conversion and optical logic gates. In this paper, we have studied the optical bistability in multi-section DFB-LD using split-step time-domain model. It is confirmed that the multi-section DFB-LD, which is excited inhomogeneously, shows bistability. The optical bistable characteristics are investigated when input light is injected into a absorptive region. Simulation results show that multi-section DFB-LD works as a flip-flop depending on the set-reset optical pulse which has a few ns in switching time and a few pj in switching energy, so that it can act as a optical logic device. Besides, if we change the carrier lifetime and the differential gain coefficient, it is expected that the response time of optical output signal can be reduced.
