의사는 인간의 생명을 구하는 권한이 있으니까 마치 생명을 죽이는 권한도 포함된 것 같은 생각에 그야말로 막강한 권한을 가진 것 같이 보인다. 오늘의 한국에서는 과거와 달리 의사의 사회적 위상에 많이 떨어져 있지만 아직도 미국이나 독일 같은 선진 사회에서 의사의 위상은 준신에 가깝게 높고 그의 말과 판단이라면 비록 건강에 관한 이슈뿐만 아니라 삶에 대한 지혜로도 존중되고 수용된다. 의사의 사회적 위상이 높아진 것은 의학이라는 특수한 학문과 이와 연결된 의술의 그동안의 엄청난 발달과 무관하지 않다. 역사적으로 보면 고대 희랍시대부터 의학은 인간의 질병을 고치고 생명을 건강하게 보존하는 특별한 지식 그리고 이 지식을 기반으로 응용되는 치료기법으로 기예 (techne)라는 존칭으로 불리었다. 즉, 건강의 회복이라는 실질적인 목적을 가진 지식과 테크닉을 합친 이른바 귀중한 실천 (praxis)이다. 의학에 대한 낙관적인 전망은 시대와 문화가 바뀌면서 또한 의학 자체가 좀 더 발달하면서 도전을 받는다. 20세기에 들어서서 인간의 생명을 위협하고 또 고통을 주는 질병의 종류와 양상이 변하고, 의 과학이 앞으로 인류의 병들을 퇴치시킬 수 있다는 기대에 차질이 생기게 되었다. 미국 같은 선진국에서는 일찍이 1960년도 말부터 의학교과목 개혁의 일환으로 인문학의 과목들을 같이 가르치기 시작했다. 대표적인 과목들이 윤리학, 철학, 역사, 문학 등이다. 인문학의 보강은 의학과 기술과 인간성의 연결을 위해 의사들이 쓸 수 있는 인지적 도구 (cognitive tools)를 갖추게 하는 목적에서이다. 인문학의 도입으로 의사들이 인간의 삶을 좀 더 깊게 이해하고 풍부한 인간성으로 지식과 기술을 환자에게 적용할 수 있기 위해 각자의 마음과 머리 속에 포용통합능력을 발달시키자는 데 있다. 즉 의사들의 의식과 자유로운 상상력이 확장되면서 새로운 정체성을 갖게 되는 것을 바라는 것이다. 선진국의 의학교육에서 이 같은 교육이 좋은 의사를 만든다는 신념을 굳혀가고 있다. 성과를 증명하는 연구결과가 없어 아직도 회의적인 반응도 있으나 이와 같은 교육이 윤리적 상황에 대한 예민도를 높이는 것은 확실하다. 연세대학교 의과대학은 기독교 이념이 기본 교육철학이다. 인간성을 강조하고 의사들이 자신의 인간성을 개발 강화하는 교육이 하나님의 사랑을 의사 지신의 인간성과 그의 인간애로 내재화 시킬 수 있다면 그리스도의 정신을 의학과 의술에 연결시키는 고귀한 목적을 이룰 수 있는 길이라고 생각한다.

This study investigates the recovery of trust and provision of a contract between a franchiser and a franchisee in the food service industry. It has come to the following results after analyzing the inter-affections among the franchisers' conditions, the trust level of their support and their intention to contract. First, such factors as experience, confidence, and expertise of a franchisee have significant effects on the terms of a franchiser. Second, ad support, experience, expertise, confidence, and capital factors have significant effects. Third, such factors as history of a franchiser, the number of its franchisees, its brand have significantly influence on trust. Fourth, educational support, utilization of job instruction and purchasing of packages have significant effects on intention to contract.

The purposes of this study are to categorize the archival body of knowledge based on the analysis of two guidelines and websites of 10 archival graduate programs in the United States, and to make suggestions for the development of archival education in Korea. Basic knowledge, core knowledge, complementary knowledge, practical knowledge, and research knowledge are found as components of the archival body of knowledge. The basic knowledge is the ability to understand general circumstances related to records and archives. The core one is to master the required competence as archivists. The complementary one is to understand other disciplinary backgrounds and their various research methods. The practical one is to be obtained from field experiences and the research one is to make a scholastic contribution through a deep research process. Curriculum development for preservation, electronic records management, use of computer technologies, archival services and advocacy, more interdisciplinary courses and internship programs are suggested as important factors for the future archival education. And cooperative research and appointment of more faculty members are also suggested. Finally, the development of guideline for Korean archival graduate programs are strongly suggested.

수학은 위계적이고 구조적인 특성을 가지고 있어서 학생들이 적절하게 학습하면 내적 동기유발이 가능하고 흥미 있게 학습해 나갈 수 있는 반면 단편적인 지식들로 학습하려 한다면 그 양이 방대해지고 제대로 이해하기가 어렵다. 그러므로 교사는 수학적 지식의 구조를 깨달아 지식의 본체가 내적으로 어떻게 조직되고 상호 관련되어 있는지 알아야 하고 학생들이 수학적인 아이디어와 절차를 획득하고 탐구하게 하는 적절한 문제를 제시하여 문제해결을 통해 가르쳐 가는 방법을 생각해야 할 것이다. 이 때에 학생들은 문제해결 과정에서 능동적인 역할을 하면서 자신이 학습하고 있는 것의 핵심을 인식하고 호기심을 갖고 유의미한 기능들을 이끌어내는 학습을 해야 하는데, 이는 오랜 전통의 탐구 학습과 그 맥락을 같이 하는 것이다. 수학교과 고유의 특성을 살려 지식의 구조를 가르침에 있어서 교수 방법으로의 문제해결을 통한 지도와 학습 방법으로의 탐구학습 과정은 잘 조화될 수 있다. 이러한 조화된 모습을 드러나게 하고자 초등학교 5학년 가 단계에서 '평면도형의 넓이와 둘레 사이의 관계'를 탐구하게 하는 문제해결을 통한 탐구학습 과제를 제시해 보았다. 30-40년을 거슬러 올라가는 역사를 갖는 지식의 구조나 탐구학습, 문제해결에 대한 관심은 오늘날에도 여전히 시사하는 바가 크다고 하겠다. 수학교육에 관한 연구들은 완전히 새로운 것이기보다는 이전의 것들이 주는 의미를 되새기고 오늘의 상황에 비추어 해석할 때 수학교육은 한 단계 올라서게 된다.

한국 핵융합의 획기적인 발전을 주도하며 ETER 플라즈마 제어업무를 담당했던 한 물리학자의 이야기. 비록 모든 배경이 픽션이긴 하지만 김진명 작가의 책 '천 년의 금서'는 NFRI에 소속된 나의 호기심을 자극하기 충분했다. 물론 우리나라의 왜곡된 역사를 바로잡는 과정이 책의 주 내용이고 핵융합 자체는 크게 비중을 차지하는 것이 아님에도 책에 쉽게 몰입할 수 있었던 데에는 김진명 작가 특유의 흡입력도 한몫했다.

우리나라 경제와 산업은 지난 40년간 다른 선진국의 100년을 압축 성장하여, 이제 세계 12위의 경제규모를 유지하게 되었다. 과거 농업시대를 지나 중화학, 자동차 철강의 시대를 거쳐 반도체 디스플레이 등 경박단소의 고부가가치 지식산업을 리드해 가고 있다. 특히 최근의 IT산업은 역사 이래로 우리가 세계적으로 2위와의 격차를 엄청난 규모로 앞서나가는 초유의 사례로 인식되어지고 있으며 어떤 나라도 인정할 수밖에 없는 상황에 이르렀다.

피바디 박물관의 관장이었던 모스는 우리나라 미국사절단원으로 최초의 유학생이 된 유길준을 돌봐준 인연으로 조선과 관계가 깊은 인물이다. 그는 일본 근대과학의 선생으로 일본 지식층을 국가지상주의로 기울게 하는 중요한 기틀을 제공, 조선 침략을 가속화시킨 부정적 영향을 끼친 것으로 유명하다.

82년 국내 종합병원 중 처음으로 '당뇨교실'을 연 국랍중앙의료원 당뇨병센터는 당뇨병에 대한 기초적 지식을 당뇨전문의가 강의하고, 환자의 자가관리, 식이요법에 대해 간호사와 영양사가 돌아가며 무료로 교육하고 있다. 이곳에서 교육받은 환자가 총 40여만명에 육박할 정도로 많은 당뇨병환자들이 국립중앙의료원의 당뇨교실을 거쳐 갔다.

Mathematics problem based learning(PBL), which has recently attracted much attention, is a teaching and learning method to increase mathematical ability and help learning mathematical concepts and principles through problem solving using students' mathematical prerequisite knowledge. In spite of such a quite attention, it is not easy to apply and practice PBL actually in school mathematics. Furthermore, the recent instructional situations or environments has focused on student's self construction of their learning and its process. Because of this reason, to whom is related to mathematics education including math teachers, investigation and recognition on the degree of students' acquisition of mathematical thinking skills and strategies(for example, inductive and deductive thinking, critical thinking, creative thinking) is an very important work. Thus, developing mathematical thinking skills is one of the most important goals of school mathematics. In particular, recently, connection or integration of one subject and the other subject in school is emphasized, and then mathematics might be one of the most important subjects to have a significant role to connect or integrate with other subjects. While considering the reason is that the ultimate goal of mathematics education is to pursue an enhancement of mathematical thinking ability through the enhancement of problem solving ability, this study aimed to implement basically what is the meaning of the integrated thinking ability in problem based learning theory in Mathematics. In addition, using historical materials, this study was to develop mathematical materials and a sample of a concrete instructional guideline for enhancing integrated thinking ability in problem based learning program.
