Prediction of the Time for Exchange Engine Oil using Artificial Intelligence (인공지능을 이용한 엔진오일 교환시기 예측)

  • This paper has been proposed an engine oil changing system automatically using artificial intelligence. As you know, It is very difficult to forecast the time that exchange engine oil exactly. Because, It does not necessary to change the engine oil when color of engine is black or distance is more than 3000 km. In order to forecast to optimal engine oil replacement time, We must to consider color of engine oil, greasy, mad condition, quick starting condition and quick braking condition. Therefore, in this paper, to overcome those problems, we, developed an expert system that it can forecast to exchange time of engine oil automatically using fuzzy rules and neural networks.

Comparison Evaluation of Distribution Engine Oils in Korea (국내 유통 엔진오일 품질비교 연구)

  • Domestic vehicle companies have been selling genuine engine oils with higher price than that of the same grade of regular engine oils. In this study, our group investigated the properties of engine oils for 14 kinds of the genuine and equivalent regular engine oil (KS product) species under a fresh as well as used condition recovered after 10,000 km driving. From analytic results, genuine engine oils had similar physical properties to regular engine oils under the fresh condition. But recovered regular engine oils had better properties in lubricity, kinematic viscosity and acid number change than those of recovered genuine engine oils.

  • In this paper, in order to measure the degree of degradation using the reflection coefficient of the probe, the measuring circuit is designed. we put pulse signal into the probe and measure the reflected signal in the circuit. As the condition of engine oil degradation, we can see that the reflected signal was increased and as the engine oil temperature increases, a phenomenon shows that the degradated dielectric constant is decreased. Finally, the theoretical values and measured values of the reflection coefficients of the probe are analyzed.

  • Depending on the status of the engine oil, the dielectric constant is changed. Dielectric constant of oil is related to the characteristic impedance of the probe and the characteristic impedance of the probe determines the reflected signal. In this paper, we derive an equivalent circuit of the probe and using the dielectric constant obtained by measuring the capacitance, the theoretical reflection coefficient of the probe was calculated. In the results, if the engine oil is deteriorated, we can see that the reflection coefficient is increased.

Quantitative Analysis of Fuel in Engine Oil (엔진오일 내 연료성분 정량분석)

  • The contaminated engine oil by fuel can intimidate driver safety due to vehicle problems such as engine abrasion, fire and sudden unintended acceleration. In this study, we investigate various functional properties of the engine oil contaminated with fuel. The test results indicated that the engine oil contaminated with fuel had relatively low values of the flash point, pour point, density, kinematic viscosity and cold cranking simulator. Furthermore, a four ball test suggested that the contaminated engine oil increased wear scar due to the poor lubricity. Moreover, SIMDIST (simulated distillation) using ASTM D2887 was applied to analyze fuel characteristics in an engine oil. The SIMDIST analysis result showed a lower carbon number, and the fuel was detected at an earlier retention time than that of using engine oil in chromatogram. Also, it is possible to quantitatively analyze for fuel contents in the engine oil. The SIMDIST method for the diagnosis of oil conditions can be used whether the fuel was involved or not, instead of analyzing other physical properties that require various analytical instruments, large volumes of oil samples, and long analysis time.

Characteristics of Variant Dielectric Constants With Respect to Internal Combustion Engine Oil States (내연기관의 엔진오일상태에 대한 유전율 변화 특성)

  • The engine oil life of internal combustion engine is shorted by the thermal effect and that causes air pollution. In order to measure the status of engine oil accurately, the exchange of new oil extends the life of combustion engine and reduces environmental pollution. Capacitance probes, such as engine oil and fluids can be used to measure the dielectric constant. In this paper, the degradation of engine oil varies depending on the degree of dielectric properties was analyzed. Depending on the state of the oil, the variant capacitance of the probe was measured by LCR Meter, respectively, and then the permittivity of oil was calculated. In addition, according to the size of the probe by measuring the change in capacitance measurement, accuracy of dielectric constant are presented. According to oil contaminated with the more increase in dielectric constant, we can decide that contaminated oil is available.

Inhibitory Effects of d-limonene Cleaning on the Formation of DNA Adducts in Skin and Lung of Mice Dermally Exposed to Used Gasoline Engine Oil (피부에 폭로된 폐가솔린엔진오일로 인한 표적장기의 DNA adducts 형성과 d-라이모닌 세척효과에 대한 평가)

  • 작업장에서 근로자들이 엔진오일 등 각종 오일에 피부가 폭로되었을 때 이것을 쉽게 세척하기 위하여 일반적으로 솔벤트를 사용한다. 그러나 솔벤트를 사용하면 피부를 건조하게 만들 뿐만 아니라 오일에 함유되어 있는 각종 성분들을 피부내에 흡수되는 것을 촉진시킬 수 있어서 이에대한 대처방법이 요구된다. 특히 폐가솔닐엔진오일데는 방향족탄화수소(PAHs)와 같은 물질이 함유되어 있어 체내에 흡수되면 발암물질로 대사되어 표적장기(피부와 폐조직)에서 DNA adducts를 높은 수준으로 형성한다고 알려져 있다. 본 연구에서는 식물기름에서 구할 수 있는 d-라이모닌(Limonene)를 세척제로 사용하여 폐가솔린엔진오일의 폭로로 인하여 형성되는 DNA adducts를 $^{32}P-postlabeling방법으로 분석함으로써 d-라이모닌의 세척효과를 평가하고자 하였다. HDC(ICR) Br 자성마우스의 견갑골 부위에 있는 털을 제거하고 그 부위에 폐가솔린엔진오일을 폭로시키고 1시간과 8시간이 지난 다음에 d-라이모닌으로 각각 세척을 하였다. 마지막 폭로를 마치고 24시간이 지난 다음에 실험동물을 희생시켜 표적장기(폭로된 피부와 폐)에서 시료를 채취하였다. 먼저 시료에서 DNA를 분리하여 가수분해한 다음에 $^{32}P-postlabeling하여 DNA adducts를 분리하였다. 폐가솔린엔진오일만 폭로시킨 그룹의 피부와 폐조직에 형성된 DNA adducts가 각각 30.3$\pm$3.7과 15.7$\pm$2.4로서 대조군(2.5$\pm$1.0과 1.4$\pm$0.4)에 비하여 통계적으로 유의하게 높았고 (p<0.01), 또한 폐조직에서 보다 피부조직에서 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다(p<0.01). 폐가솔린엔진오일을 폭로시킨 후에 d-라이모닌으로 세척한 그룹에서는 피부와 폐조직에 형성된 DNA adducts가 통계적으로 유의하게 감소하였는데(p<0.01), 8시간 보다는 1시간이 지난 다음에 세척한 그룹에서 DNA adducts의 감소현상이 더 크게 나타났다. 결론적으로 피부에 폭로된 폐가솔린 엔진오일을 d-라이모닌으로 세척하면 폐가솔닐엔진오일내에 함유된 발암물질이 체내흡수되는 것이 억제되고, 피부와 폐조직 모두에서 DNA adducts의 형성을 감소시킬 수 있으며, 폐오일이 폭로된 후 빨리 세척하는 것이 더 효과적임을 증명하였다.

디젤엔진오일의 국제성능규격 추세와 올바른 선택요령

  • 각 나라 자동차 엔진메이커들은 그 나라의 기후, 환경, 도로사정 등 그 중요도에 따라 독자적인 성능규격을 실시하고 있으며 특히 우리나라도 기후, 지형 및 사용연료인 디젤유황함량 등의 조건에 맞는 공동의 독자적인 엔진 test method 및 규격제정이 필요한 시기가 도래하였다고 보며, 국내 자동차 메이커들이 전 세계로 수출하는 과정에서 그 해당나라의 엔진요구 규격을 잘 인식하고 자동차수출에 따른 AS 및 오일추천을 정립하여, 오일에 의한 엔진트러블 등을 방지해야 할 것이며, 국내에 유럽 및 일본식 엔진이 70~80% 시장성을 갖고 운행되고 있다는 점을 인식하여 그 적합한 유럽의 CCMC 규격과 유럽의 유명 자동차메이커의 규격에 대해 잘 알아야 할 것이며, 엔진오일의 성능등급에 대한 잘못된 인식과 오일선택으로 고가 차량의 엔진트러블 및 잦은 수리로 소비자나 국가적으로 경제적 손실의 발생을 방지하는 디젤엔진오일의 올바른 선택과 요령을 정리하였다.

Study of engine oil replacement times estimate method using fuzzy and neural network algorithm (퍼지 및 신경망 알고리즘을 이용한 엔진오일 교환 시기 예측 방법에 관한 연구)

  • If we can forecast the replacement time of engine oil, we extend the life-time of our engine and increase the continued ratio. But, the replacement times of engine oil is influenced by the following elements: the distance that cars or vehicles travel, vehicles that run a short range, types of engine oil etc. that run a long distance. In this paper, We forecast engine oil replacement times by using fuzzy neural network algorithm. This algerian uses the data of distance covered, color of engine oil etc. Through a sequence of simulation, the exchange system of intelligence style engine oil decides on the replacement times of engine oil quite accurately. Therefore, We expect vehicles to become more convenient if the above algorithm is a lied to the present types of cars.

A Study on the Engine Oil Life for Small Size Single Cylinder Engine (단기통 소형 엔진의 엔진오일 수명에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 두가지 엔진에 사용된 엔진오일의 성상변화를 측정하였다. 따라서 금속 마모입자 분석, 동점도 측정과 TAN 및 TBN 분석을 통한 물리적 성상과 화학적 성질 분석 그리고 적외선 분광 분석과 정량 폐로그라피 분석 등을 통하여 Table 1에 나타난 기준에 의해 오일의 수명을 판정하였다. 아울러 RPD를 이용하여 마모입자의 형상 등을 분석하고 엔진에서 발생하는 마모기구를 살펴보았다. 물론 본 연구는 주위 환경이 양호한 실험실에서 엔진 동력계에 의한 실험에 의존하였으므로 실제 주행실험 결과보다는 오일의 수명이 더 길게 나타날 것으로 예측된다. 더욱이 농경지에서 주로 사용되는 경운기의 경우는 오일이 먼지나 모래, 진흙 등에 의해 오손되기 쉬우므로 실제 오일의 수명은 훨씬 더 짧을 것으로 생각되므로 실차 주행실험 결과와의 비료는 앞으로 더 연구할 분야로 생각된다.
