A Study on the Market trends Analysis of Companion Animal Food and Products in Korea (국내 반려동물 식품 및 용품 시장현황 분석 연구)

  • The companion animal related businesses are rapidly growing as the pet population increases in Korea. In this study, we analyzed the market trends of companion animal food and products to offer basic information that can be used in related policies and industries. The data were collected using Nielsen Korea's wholesale/retail distribution channels. As a result, in the case of companion dog food, PB products of domestic companies showed the highest market share with 24.6%, and the ratio of domestic companies(54.8%) was higher than that of import companies(45.2%). Domestic PB products also had the highest market share(16.5%) in companion cat food, however, the ratio of import companies(71.6%) was higher than that of domestic companies(28.4%). In the case of the market share of the companion animal products(toys, oral and bath supplies), Nosework mats from domestic companies were top ranked in the toy category(28.0%). Oral products(62.5%) and bath products(59.5%) from domestic companies were also having a higher market share than import companies. Our research may help domestic companion animal product companies to steadily increase market share and the amount of their export.

An Empirical Analysis on the Technical Efficiency from the Perspective of Space Closeness in Apparel Textile Industry of Busan (부산지역 섬유·패션기업의 공간근접성에 따른 효율성 분석)

  • This paper investigates the properties and relative importance of Apparel Textile industry of Busan in terms of both the number of employees and the value-added, and then analyzes the relative technical efficiencies from the perspectives of space closeness such as consumption market, suppliers, living standards and clustering environments using the DEA model. The main outcomes are as follows. The Apparel Textile industry is still a key industry in Busan with relatively high intensity and high LQ (greater than one) in spite of the recent decrease between 2000 and 2005 both in the number of employees and the value-added. Those firms with consumption market showed higher efficiency in all kinds of efficiencies than the firms without the market, and further relatively higher efficiency than the firms with suppliers. In addition, the firms located in the higher living standards also showed higher values of efficiency compared with the firms in lower living standards. The policy implication from the results is that the strategic and selective investment should be made according to the relative efficiency and thus the traditional industry should be transformed to the high value added one with additional investment to utilize the scale efficiency.

Risk Analysis of Radiographic Testing Companies using Radial Scale Analysis Model (방사형 척도분석 모델을 활용한 방사선투과검사 업체의 위험성 분석)

  • As the radiation is used in various fields, the number of radiation workers is on the increase and there has been an increasa in interest in the radiation worker's safety. In South Korea, it is focusing on securing safety of workers through KISOE system and owner's report. In advance study, We determined that in assessing the risks of securing safety for workers and businesses, the assessment of other items as well as exposure doses would be effective and develops the Radial Scale Analysis Model. So, data from the actual radiographic testing companies were applied to the radial scale analysis model to determine the risks of the actual companies. And, we selected 4 companies to confirm the applicability. Risk assessments of all 56 companies were conducted and improvements and inspections were anticipated for each company's problems. The results of the study are expected to be utilized by radiographic testing companies and regulatory for self-assessment and regulation criteria.

Food Safety Culture Assessment of Home Meal Replacement Manufacturer (가정간편식 식품 제조업체의 식품안전문화 평가)

  • Of great importance in food safety culture are the values of an organization regarding food safety that combine the human and material requirements needed to produce safe and hygienic foods. In recent years, efforts have been made to improve the level of implementation of food safety management systems by improving certain cultural elements of food safety. This study investigated the current state of food safety culture in the HMR manufacturing sector. An anonymous survey of 46 HMR manufacturers of various sizes was conducted to evaluate the implementation status of HACCP prerequisite program and food safety culture. The perceived importance of food safety culture factors and their performance were also surveyed. Employees of HMR manufacturers who participated in this survey recognized that the participation of employees and leadership was the most important factor in ensuring food safety. Smaller enterprises are less aware of the importance of such organizational culture. The survey shows that food safety culture indicators in large companies are generally higher than those of small and medium enterprises. Especially, the manager's level of commitment to food safety, resources input, and education and training was significantly higher than that found at small companies (p=0.005). Among the food safety culture evaluation factors, it was found that education and training had significant influence on HACCP prerequisite program performance. Continued employee education and training on food safety and hygiene are important for HMR manufacturers to achieve HACCP certification standards.

  • The measure to encourage participation of ESCO business for companies with core technology may vary on the conditions of preference policy considerations. Accordingly, the three measures are can be suggested, evaluation points for incentives, loan allocated to a separate, and participation with consortium. This study recommends that the evaluation points for incentives is preferred in the ways. If the assumption that the allocation of large amounts of money, the amount of the loan allocated to a separate may be considered as suboptimal.

  • Today there is a fierce competition between social commerce and multi-channel distribution in korea and it is need to do comparative analysis about success factors between social commerce and multi-channel distribution. Unlike the other studies that have only used survey method, this study analyzed the success factors between social commerce and multichannel distribution using text mining techniques. We expect that the result of the study not only gives the practical implication for making the competition strategy of the retailers but also contributes to the diverse extension research.

  • The objective of this study is examining regional differentiation of private brand customer. Factors found to influence private brand purchase intention included familiarity with private brand, perceived value, store loyalty, perceived risk, perceived quality variation between national and private brand products. For testing the research model, data were collected in Seoul and Busan. The hypothetical paths included in model are supported. There are regional differentiations in 1) negative relation of perceived quality variation and perceived value, 2) positive relation of familiarity and purchase intention, and 3) positive relation of store royalty and purchase intention.

  • Based on the survey for munitions companies, we have tried to find current state of the application of Korean military specifications(KDS) and their references for munition products, and how they can be improved for a better management system. On average, Korean munitions companies have 660 of KS, 18 of U.S. military specifications, and 5 of foreign standards, and annually spend about 0.4 million won for KS, but 1.3 million won for foreign standards. In addition, they have emphasized the necessity of the integrated management system for KDS and the related drawings.

  • 본 논문에서는 생산 현장에서 사람이 하고 있는 자동차 부품의 전수(全數) 검사 방법을 대체하기 위한 머신 비전 시스템의 개발 연구이다. 세계 자동차 생산업체간 활발한 합병 및 전략적 제휴로 인한 완성차 업체수의 감소는 부품 업체 간 경쟁을 심화시키고 있다. 외국 업체에 비하여 상대적으로 규모 의 영세성을 보이고 있는 국내 부품 생산 업체는 대규모 생산 설비 투자와 함께 생산 효율성을 증대시켜 국제적인 경쟁력을 갖추도록 하여야 한다. 생산 효율과 품질 향상을 위한 노력의 일환으로 플라스틱 압출 성형에서 생기는 여러 가지 불량품 유형을 PC를 기반한 머신 비전 시스템 (Machine Vision System)을 구축하여 생산된 부품을 실시간 검사하고 불량품을 분류 하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 머신 비전 시스템에 사용된 소프트웨어는 NI-LabVIEW를 사용하였으며, LabVIEW Vision 이미지 함수를 사용하여 검사 프로그램의 개발하였다. 부품 검사에 걸리는 시간은 50ms 내로 완료되기 때문에 생산 부품의 실시간 검사에 적용 될 수 있으며, 검사 영역과 설정 값을 비전 시스템 운용자가 설정할 수 있도록 프로그램이 만들어 졌다.

VM Inside - 자판기, 이제 좀 착한일 좀 하자!

  • 얼마전 한국자동판매기공협협회(이하:협회)에서는 유니세프에 국내 자판기 운영업체들이 어떻게 하면 기부관련 협약 체결을 할 수 있는지를 물었다. 취지를 요약하자면 "자판기 모금을 통해 착한 일을 해보고 싶어 하는 곳이 많다. 유니세프에 수익금의 일부를 기부하는 것에 관심을 갖는 곳이 있는데 어떻게 하면 참여를 할 수 있는가? 협회 차원에서 그 방법을 안내하고 싶다"는 내용이었다. 반응은 의외였다. 별로 자판기 업계가 유니세프 기부에 참여하는 것을 반기지 않았다. 좋은 일에 기부하고자 하는 선의를 무시하는 것 같아 꼬치꼬치 이유를 물었다. 유니세프 관계자는 "자판기 운영자와 협약을 맺으면 '이 자판기 수익금 중 일부(%)는 유니세프를 통해 불우한 지구촌 어린이들에게 지원됩니다'라는 문구를 사용하게 된다"고 밝히며 "그런데 그동안 기부에 참여 한다고 해놓고 문구만 사용하고 기부금은 입금하지 않는 업체가 많았다"고 말했다. 문제는 그렇게 해도 유니세프가 일일이 단속 할 수 없는 현실이라는 점. 그렇기 때문에 솔직히 자판기 운영업체가 참여를 한다고 해도 못 미더운 심정이라고 밝혔다. 아울러 이 관계자는 "협회를 통해 많은 업체가 참여할 경우 자판기를 통한 기부확산이라는 점은 긍정적이지만 염려되는 면이 있는 것이 사실이다"면서 "솔직히 협회차원에서 나서서 협약 안내를 하지 않았으면 한다"입장을 밝혔다. 부아가 치밀었지만 현실이 잘못되어 있는 점은 어쩔 수 없는 일이다. 유니세프 쪽에서 자판기 분야의 참여업체가 선례가 오죽 좋지 않았으면 그런 입장을 표명했을까?
