Shoot yield and growth characteristics of Pteridium spp. according to the dickness of sowed seed root (고사리의 종근 규격에 따른 파종 2년차 신초 출현양상 및 수량성)

  • 고사리(Ferns)는 고사리 속(Pteiidium spp.)에 속하는 양치식물의 총칭으로서 우리나라에는 22과 70속 272종이 분포되어 있는 것으로 보고되었다. 고사리의 어린 순에는 가식부 100g 당 칼슘 15.0mg, 칼륨 185.0mg 등이 함유되어 있으며 골다공증, 심혈관질환 등에 효과가 있고 식이섬유로 인해 변비 예방에도 유용한 것으로 알려져 있다. 2017년 기준 우리나라의 고사리 재배면적은 3,280ha 수준으로 그중 전라북도의 고사리 재배는 재배면적 285ha이며 연간 생산량 1,985톤으로 전국 생산량의 21%를 차지하고 있어 전라북도의 산채 재배작목 중 중요한 비중을 차지하고 있다. 고사리 재배는 정식 후 수확기간이 길고 제초노력 등의 노동력 의존도가 상대적으로 낮아 최근 재배면적이 늘어나고 있는 추세이나, 종근의 적정 규격 등에 대한 기준이 제시되지 않아 경영비 부담이 큰 실정이다. 본 연구는 고사리 종근 규격을 종근 두께 기준 A등급($14.1{\pm}3.31mm$), B등급($8.3{\pm}1.88mm$), C등급($3.3{\pm}2.31mm$)로 구분하여 표고 500m의 허브시험장 연구포장에 3월 28일 정식한 후 2018년 4월부터 신초 출현양상 및 수량성을 조사하였다. 파종 2년차 고사리 신초의 출현양상은 4월 11일부터 출현을 시작하여 6월 11일 까지 빠르게 증가하여 7월 9일 이후 고온기이후 증가세가 완만해지는 경향을 보였고 9월 10일까지 누적 신초수는 A 등급 파종구에서 80.0개를 보였다. 신초 출현 후 포자엽이 전개되어 상품성을 상실하기까지의 포자엽 전개일수는 주 수확시기인 4~5월에는 5.3~6.7일이 소요되었으나, 포자엽 전개이후 울폐가 이루어지는 8~9월에는 9.7~11.7일이 소요되어 생육 초기 차광에 의한 전개일수 연장효과가 기대되었다. 생육기간 동안 조사시기별 신초의 두께는 6월 11일과 9월 11일 조사한 신초에서 굵어지는 경향을 보였고, 상품성 있는 고사리 신초의 규격을 신초장 20cm로 포자엽 전개 직전으로 한정하여 수확을 실시한 결과 파종 2년차 수확은 4월18일 이후 4회 이루어졌으며 신초의 생체중은 5.2~6.0g/개의 범위로 종근 규격 간에는 차이가 인정 되지 않았다. 4월 18일에서 5월 8일까지의 수확기간 동안 누적 신초 수확량은 A 등급과 B 등급의 종근을 파종한 처리에서 각 32.2개/$m^2$, 30.3개/$m^2$로 C 등급 파종구에 비해 유의하게 수확 신초수가 증가하였다. 단위면적당 신초 수량성은 4월 30일 3회차 수확시부터 종근 규격간 차이가 있었으며 누적 신초수량은 A 등급과 B 등급 파종구에서 각 183.3kg/10a, 169.9kg/10a로 유의하게 높았는데 이는 파종된 종근의 두께에 따라 상품성 있는 신초 출현수가 유의하게 증가된 때문으로 판단되었다.

  • 한라산 동부지역에 위치한 삼다수 숲길은 삼나무, 편백나무, 곰솔림과 낙엽활엽수림으로 이루어진 숲이다. 현재 삼다수 숲길이 조성되어 관리되고 있으나 식물에 대한 정보가 거의 없는 실정으로 식물상을 조사하여 관리의 기초자료로 삼고자 수행하였다. 조사는 2018년 03월부터 2018년 08월까지 총 10회에 걸쳐 실시하였다. 조사 결과 삼다수 숲길에 생육하는 관속식물은 86과 183속 255종 11변종 4품종의 총 270분류군으로 조사되었다. 양치식물 12과 18속 30종 1변종 31분류군, 나자식물 2과 3속 3종 3분류군, 피자식물 72과 162속 222종 10변종 4품종으로 쌍자엽식물 64과 129속 176종 9변종 3품종 188분류군, 단자엽식물 8과 33속 46종 1변종 1품종 48분류군으로 구성되었다 이 중 한국특산식물은 5종, 제주특산식물 3종 외래식물이 13종 채집되었다. 식물구계학적특정식물은 5등급 3종, 4등급 11종, 3등급 23종, 2등급 12종, 1등급 26종 총 75종이 발견되었다. 국가 적색목록 식물은 위기(EN) 1분류군, 준위협(NT) 3분류군, 관심대상(LC) 4분류군, 미평가(NE) 2분류군이 조사되었다. 조사된 식물들의 휴면형은 H형이 62분류군으로 가장 많이 나타났고, MM형 40분류군, M형 31분류군, N형 29분류군, E형 3분류군, Ch형 22분류군, G형 51분류군, HH형 4분류군, Th형 28분류군으로 나타났다. 지하기관형은 R1 2분류군, R2 23분류군, R3 71분류군, R4 18분류군, R5 156분류군으로 R5가 57.85로 가장 높은 비율로 분포하였다. 산포기관형은 D4가 47.4%로 가장 높은 비율이였으며, 생육형(Growth form)은 직립형(e)이 53%로 가장 높은 비율로 분포 하였다.

  • 한경 곶자왈 산림유전자원보호구역은 개가시나무와 백서향 등을 포함한 암괴지대의 상록활엽수림으로서 그 중요성이 인정되어 산림유전자원 생태보전지역으로 지정 관리되고 있다. 따라서 본 지역의 식물상을 조사하여 곶자왈의 분포식물을 파악하고자 실시하였다. 본 연구는 한라산 서쪽 곶자왈지역 중 곶자왈 산림유전자원 보호구역으로 지정된 지역을 2017년 6월부터 2017년 9월까지 20여 차례 현장조사를 통하여 표본을 수집하고 이를 기록 정리하였다. 조사지역의 식물은 총 83과 181속 236종 23변종 2품종 총 261종으로 조사결과 양치식물이 7과 18속 30종 2변종 32분류군, 나자식물이 1과 1속 2분류군, 피자식물은 74과 162속 204종 21변종 2품종 227분류군 이었다. 그 중 쌍자엽식물은 67과 139속 179종 16변종 1품종 196분류군이고, 단자엽식물이 7과 23속 25종 5변종 1품종 31분류군이었다. 조사에서 확인된 환경부 멸종위기야생식물은 개가시나무 1종 이었다. 식물 구계학적 특정식물로는 총 97분류군이 조사되었다. 등급별로는 V등급 검정개관중, 개가시나무로 2분류군, IV등급 백서향, 녹나무 등 12분류군, III등급 아왜나무, 호자나무 등 37분류군, II등급 올벚나무, 개산초 등 13분류군, I 등급 푸조나무, 자금우 등 33분류군으로 확인되었다. 한국의 적색목록 식물을 분석해보면 취약(VU)은 개가시나무, 섬다래 등 3분류군, 준위협(NT)은 백서향, 약난초로 2분류군, 관심대상종(LC)은 골고사리, 새우난초 등 9분류군, 미평가종(NE)은 빌레나무 1분류군으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 청수 저지 곶자왈 지역의 생태학적 자료로 제주도 내 곶자왈과 비교하였을 때 맹아가 발달한 종가시나무가 우점하는 지역으로 향후 상록수림 천이에 의해 상록수 아래에 자라는 식물로 낙엽활엽수가 대체될 것으로 추정되어 지속적인 조사가 요구된다.

A Study on the development for the primary school fluoride mouthrinsing project through the public health system in a rural area (공공보건조직을 통한 농촌지역 초등학교 불소양치사업 개발에 관한 연구 (1))

  • This study was purposed to develop the fluoride mouthrinsing project through the public health system in a rural area. This project was performed under the management of the public health dentist for the 3rd grade students selected from the 5 primary schools at Goksunggun in Chonnam area. Fluoride mouthrinsing was executed with 0.2% neutral sodium fluoride solution once a week. After 1 year's fluoride mouthrinsing project, DMFT index, DMF rate frequencies of toothbrushing, simplified oral hygiene index, and the responses to fluoride mouthrinsing project of the school children participated were examined. The results obtained from this study were as follows: 1. The fluoride mouthrinsing project for school children was performed average 10 times a year by the public health dentist. They were relatively little active to perform this project. 2. There was no significant difference in the increasement of DMFT index and DMF rate during 1 year between control and fluoride mouthrinsing group. 3. Control group was increased higher than fluoride mouthrinsing group in simplified oral hygiene index. 4. Toothbrushing frequencies increased in both groups. 5. 80.4% of school children participated in fluoride mouthrinsing project was responded to like it, and 78.2% among them was responded the project to be beneficial for their dental health. 6. 39.2% of school children was responded to have water-like taste for fluoride solution. But 34.0% of them was done to have strange taste. On consideration of above findings, this fluoride mouthrinsing project was not well performed by the public health dentists and also the oral health status of school children participated was not significantly improved by this project. Therefore, to perform continually this project well, it was recommended that this project should be performed by other person such as dental hygienist rather than public health dentist.

  • Floristic composition and phytosociological studies in Mt. Gwaebyung and Galmi-Bong were investigated to classify forest vegetation and distribution of vascular plants. We investigated two study sites from April to September, 2011. Total 477 taxa with 93 families, 279 genera, 408 species, 4 subspecies, 56 varieties and 9 forms were distributed in Mt. Gwaebyung and Galmi-Bong. Korean endemic species were composed of 8 families with 11 genera and 11 species. The plant species which is designated as protected species by the Ministry of Environment, Korea was 2 families, 2 genera and 2 species. Also plant species which is designated by the Korea National Arboretum was 16 taxa with 13 families, 14 genera, 15 species and 1 variety. A naturalized plants were 17 taxa. The Naturalization index and Urbanization index were 3.6% and 5.3% respectively. Pteridophyta-calculation (Pte-Q) was 1.00. Life form spectra was $H-D_4-R_5-e$ type and the highest percentage of useful plant resources were medicinal plant (77.5%). The forest vegetation in Mt. Gwaebyung and Galmi-bong was classified into 1 order, 1 alliance and 4 communities; Rhododendro - Quercetalia mongoliaceae, Lindero-Quercion mongolicae, Quercus mongolica Typical Community, Pinus densiflora-Quercus mongolica Community, Larix kaempferi Community and Sasa borealis-Quercus mongolica Community.

  • The flora of vascular plants investigated in civilian control line area was 730 taxa consisting of 104 families, 331 genera, 631 species, 2 subspecies, 90 varieties, 7 formae. The forest was comparatively well conserved by Pteridophyta calculation(Pte-Q), 1.27. Among the investigated vascular plants, Korean endemic plants(Carex okamotoi, Salix koriyanagi, Clematis chisanensis, Aconitum pseudo-laeve var. erectum, Viola diamantiaca etc.) were 31 taxa; rare and endangered plants(Disporum ovale, Lilium distichum, Trillium kamschaticum, Gastrodia elata etc.) were 35 taxa; naturalized plants(Dactylis glomerata, Poa pratensis, Rumex acetosella, Gypsophila oldamiana, Lepidium apetalum etc.) were 26 taxa. The forest vegetation was classified into 1 order, 1 alliances, 6 communities; Rhododendro-Quercetalia mongolicae Kim 1990(신갈나무-철쭉군목), Lindero-Quercion mongolicae Kim 1990(신갈나무-생강나무군단), A. PRESENT STATE AND PROSPECT OF PUBLIC DENTAL HEALTH SERVICE FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS IN KOREA (우리나라 어린이와 청소년의 구강건강을 위한 공공서비스의 현황과 전망)

  • To achieve the dental health of children and adolescents which is the objective of the pediatric dentistry, the role of the public service should be increased. The basis of the public service is established by many laws of which the Dental Health Law is most important. The percentages of primary schools that had the school dental health clinic, that implemented the fluoride rinsing program, and that implemented the group toothbrushing after lunch were 7.2%, 57.5%, and 46.9%, respectively, and the percentages of primary school children that received the dental health education and that received the fissure sealing were 48.0% and 12.4%, respectively(2006). About 42% of infants and preschool children from 0 to 6 years received preventive dental care in the last one year, at the nursery or kindergarten(18%) or at the health center(1%)(2005). The percentage of the health centers that implemented water fluoridation was 11.3%, and the percentage of the population who drank the fluoridated water was 5.7%(2006). It was suggested that the school dental health administration should be unified, that dental health teachers should be employed, and that the comprehensive dental health care should be supplied to all the children and adolescents through the circuit school dentists and the school dental hospitals in the long term. Also, the dentist in charge system for the children and adolescent was suggested.

The Distribution of Vascular Plants Recorded in the Hangul Tripitaka (한글대장경에 기록된 관속식물의 분포)

  • The purpose of this research is to classify various plants written in the Korean Buddhist scriptures and assign scientific name to them in accordance with the Hangul Tripitaca as standard scriptures, thereby establishing the foundation of the plants in Buddhist scriptures. As a natural resource, we also assessed the value of the plants written in the Buddhist scriptures that distributed from other countries. To this end, we inferred the route of introduction to Korea of the plants and investigated their function and usage. Taxonomic classification of the plants written in Buddhist scriptures identified a total of 331 taxa belonging to 107 families, 244 genera, 313 species, 1 subspecies, 16 varieties, 1 forms. Species composition of the 331 taxa of plants consisted of two taxa of pteridophyte, 15 taxa of gymnosperm, 261 taxa of dicotyledon, and 53 taxa of monocotyledon. Among them, 183 and 148 were woody and herbaceous plants, respectively. Analysis of the distribution of 331 kinds of plants that India's portion of origin of place is 8.9% which holds a low rank compared with those of Korea (10.5%), China (10.9%), and Japan (10.0%). This explains why many taxa of plants distributed from the three countries appeared in the Hangul Tripitaca. Accordingly, we hypothesized that the majority of the plants were added and replaced at some point in past while Buddhist scriptures were propagated from India to China and from China to Korea. Our analysis indicated that 119 out of the 331 taxa (36 %) were distributed from Korea.

Floristics of bryophytes in Dongbaek-dongsan at Seonheul Gotjawal (선흘 곶자왈 동백동산의 선태식물상 연구)

  • This study presents a survey on the bryophytes in Dongbaek-dongsan located at Seonheul Gotjawal on the north-eastern face of Mt. Halla in Jeju Island, Korea. A total of 85 taxa belonging to the Bryophyta (22 families 44 genera 62 species), Marchantiophyta (12 families 16 genera 23 species) were found. Among them, 3 moss species, Diphyscium perminutum Takaki, Racomitrium japonicum Dozy & Molk., and Isopterygium minutirameum (M$\ddot{u}$. Hal.) A. Jaeger. were new additions to the bryophyte flora of Korea. The liverwort index was 27.0%. Predominant life-form was weft. The rates for the bryophytes dominating in mesic to hygric sites were higher than for the bryophytes mainly observed in xeric habitats. We considered that the composition and distribution of species are affected by the different environmental factors according to the evergreen broad-leaved forests, wetlands and exposed spaces. Moreover, the rocks were the substrate type that play a major role in providing the micro-habitats for bryophytes in this area. Particularly, the bryophytes of swamps in this area were very unique and various for its limited space and showed plant communities with mosaic spatial pattern, along with vascular plants. We suggest more detailed and comprehensive studies on the swamps where endemic fern Mankyua chejuense B. -Y. Sun, M. H. Kim & C. H. Kim inhabits to provide valuable information for the conservation and restoration of the species and habitats.

Antimicrobial and clinical effects of mouthrinses of acid water prepared by an electrolysis apparatus on chronic periodontitis (산화전위수 양치용액 사용이 만성 치주질환에 미치는 효과에 대한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the antimicrobial and clinical effects of acid water mouthrinse prepared by an electrolysis apparatus on chronic periodontitis and to evaluate the lasting period of these effects. The change' in the pattern of colonization of bacteria within the subgingival pockets was monitored by phase contrast microscopy, in 40 patients, over a period of 8 weeks. In addition, changes in the clinical parameters of the diseased sites were also monitored. Site of pocket ${\geq}$ 5mm was selected in each patient randomly divided into two groups. As a test group, acid water mouthrinse was used twice a day in 20 patients. As control, no mouthrinse was used in 20 patients The results were as follows : 1. The suppression of motile bacteria was maintained for up to 3-4 weeks at test group. 2. Two groups did not differ significantly in proportion of bacteria in subgingival plaque over a period of 8 weeks. 3. Loss of attachment showed a significant difference in test group and in test group compared with control group (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference in control group. 4. No statistical difference was shown in two groups concerning the gingival index, plaque index, bleeding index. The results suggest that acid water mouthrinse is effective for reducing subgingival bacteria. It can be concluded that acid water may be useful as an mouthrinsing agent.
