FTM을 이용한 파형격벽의 최적구조설계 (Optimum Structural Design of a Corrugated Bulkhead by using Flexible Tolerance Method)

  • In this paper, merits and demerits of Nelder and Mead Penalty Function Method(SUMTNM) and Flexible Tolerance Method(FTM) are investigated from the standpoint of generality, accuracy and efficiency. SUMTNM is combined with Nelder and Method and SUMT, but FTM improves the values of the objective function by using information provided by feasible points as well as certain nonfeasible points termed near-feasible points. Therefore, FTM uses more information than SUMTNM for minimizing object function. The structural analysis of a vertically corrugated bulkhead is performed by collapse mechanism and plate buckling analysis. Based on the results of this analysis, minimum structural weight design of a corrugated bulkhead by use of above two optimization techniques is carried out by investigating the effects of sizes of bulkhead on the structural weight.

  • 설계자는 설계를 진행시켜 가면서 많은 의사 결정을 내려야 한다. 그 결정은 크게 선택 결정과 타협 결정으로 나뉘어질 수 있다. 선택 결정은 여러 평가 기준을 고려해 여러 대안들 중 하나를 선택하는 결정이며 타협 결정은 제한 조건과 목표들을 가장 잘 만족하는 설계 대안의 주요 치수를 결정하는 것이다. 이때 두 결정의 결과는 설계자의 의사에 크게 의존하게 된다. 따라서 설계자의 의사를 체계적이고 정확하게 반영시켜줄 필요가 있다. AHP 기법은 불분명한 선택 문제에 있어서 문제를 계층적으로 분석하여 평가함으로써 설계자의 의사를 체계적으로 반영시켜줄 수 있다. 또한 정성적인 성질들을 정량적인 판단 기준에 따라 평가함으로써 설계자의 의사를 보다 일관적으로 반영할 수 있다. 보통 공학 문제의 경우 하나의 설계 대안을 선택하고 또한 그 대안의 주요 치수를 동시에 결정해야 하는 결합된 문제이다. 이때 선택에 필요한 각 대안의 속성이 타협 문제 변수들의 함수로 표현되기 때문에 최적 과정 중에 계속 변화하게 된다. 또한 여러 속성을 고려할 경우 자릿수와 단위가 모두 다르기 때문에 속성들의 평가가 표준적으로 이루어져야 한다. 이 부분에 학습된 인공 신경망을 도입함으로써 변화하는 속성치를 자동적으로 평가할 수 있으며 설계자의 의사와 경험적인 지식도 반영할 수 있게 되었다.

  • Probabilistic structural design optimization, which is characterized by the so-called probabilistic. constraints which introduce permissible probability of violation, is preferred to deterministic design optimization since unpredictable inherent uncertainties and randomness in structural and environmental properties are to be taken quantitatively into account by probabilistic design optimization. In this paper, the well-known reliability index based MPFP(Most Probable Failure Point) search approach and the newly introduced target performance measure based MPTP(Minimum Performance Target Point) search approach are summarized and compared. The present comparison focuses on the number of iterations required for the estimation of probabilistic constraints and a technique for improvement which removes exhaustive iterations is presented as well. A 10 bar truss problem is examined for this.

비대칭(非對稱) 단면(斷面) 보강재(補剛材)의 강도해석(强度解析) (On the Strength Analysis of the Stiffener with Asymmetric Cross Section)

  • In the conventional ship's structures, the stiffeners with asymmetric sections have been widely used, in spite of the disadvantage on the point of strength, compared to those with symmetric sections. So far, the stiffened plating was usually analyzed not considering the geometric unsymmetry characteristics of the section, including only the cross sectional area and moment of inertia. In this paper, the stiffened plating is devided into the strips having a thin-walled open cross section by using the concept of the effective width. The geometric characteristics of the sections are also included. The governing equations are derived, which can be applied to the arbitrary cross section beams, and the symmetric and the asymmetric section beams which have the same cross sectional areas are analyzed by using the finite element method. From that result, we obtain the allowable load of the two sections, and compared them.

  • Recently, the rapid progress of Internet and Network affects engineering design environment as well as Business fields to utilize Web technologies to enhance it's competitively in the world. In product development, experts and organizations actually taking part in the design process are often geographically dispersed. Furthermore, different divisions and businesses often have heterogeneous CAD/CAE systems and methods for expressing product data, and addressing this heterogeneity creates additional costs and causes longer development periods. To ensure successful collaboration in the design process, it is therefore imperative that distributed CAD, CAE, and other related systems be managed in an organic and integrated manner from the initial stages of product development. Therefore, this study suggests Web-based MDO(Multidisciplinary Design Optimization) framework to support interfacing and the collective use of design and analysis tools.

  • As the size of tanker increase, the analysis and strength prediction of the transverse web frames in a tanker have become important problems. Therefore, several papers dicussed the subject and various method of analysis have been presented. Most of these studies are based on the elastic framework analysis. Framework analysis is carried out by the matrix methods. The matrix methods used most frequently are the displacement method, force method and the transfer matrix method. In this paper, the analysis is carried out by the transfer matrix method. The program has been tested by IBM 1130 and the results of example show good agreements with those by the program of stress analysis, STRESS, which was developed in M.I.T.

인공 신경망을 이용한 구조 최적화 기법

  • 인공 신경망은 빠른 속도와 안정성 등의 많은 장점을 갖고 있기 때문에 최근 들어서 여러 분야 에서 그 응용이 활발히 연구되고 있다. 인공 신경망의 한 모델인 홉필드 네트워크는 네트워크의 에너지를 최소화시키는 방향으로 네트워크의 상태를 바꾸며, 최소 에너지 상태에서 안정 상태를 유지하는 특징을 갖고 있다. 이러한 흡필드 네트워크의 특징은 흡필드 네트워크를 최적화 문 제에 적용시킬 수 있는 가능성을 제시하고 있다. 기존의 최적화 기법은 기본적으로 국부적인 탐색 기법을 사용하기 때문에, 전역적 최적해를 구하기 위해 초기점을 달리하여 여러번 계산을 수행하여 그 중 가장 좋은 결과를 취하는 방법을 사용하여야 한다. 따라서 이러한 방법은 초 기점의 선택이 결과에 큰 영향을 미치게 되는데, 설계 변수가 많고 제한 조건이 복잡할 경우 초기점 선택에 어려움이 따른다. 본 연구에서는 흡필드 네트워크와 시뮬레이티드 어닐링을 결 합하여 전역적 최적해를 찾는 기법으로서 뉴드-옵티마이저 모델을 제시하고 있다.

  • Hydrodynamic forces and moments produced by the swaying oscillation on the free surface were exactly calculated by Ursell-Tasai method for the cylinders with Kim's chine form sections and the sway responses of the cylinders of those chine form sections among the regular beam sea were also calculated. The results of the computation were compared with those of Lewis form sections. It is concluded that the effects of the section form on the added mass, and damping are small, if the section forms had same beam-draft ratio and sectional area coefficient in the case of sway motion. It is also known that the above little effects of section shapes on the basic hydrodynamic forces do not effect on the sway motion responses of cylinderical bodies among the regular beam sea. The sway motion responses of cylinderical bodies are varied linearly with the wave numbers.

  • The paper describes the preliminary ship design method using deterministic approach and probabilistic approach. In deterministic approach, there are computational aspects to applying not only the integration concurrently of principal dimension decisions and hull form variations but also hydrostatic coefficients that applied to optimization iterative process. Therefore, this paper developed that actual design concept at the preliminary ship design more than sequential design which separated in principal dimension decisions and hull form variations. Furthermore, a probabilistic approach at the preliminary ship design is applied to efficiently solve design information uncertainty that compared to deterministic approach.

  • This paper deals with the automation techniques of ship assembly drawing generation, which help the designer to reduce the man-hour for completing the drawings, and improve the quality of the drawing for the given time. The automation techniques are necessary for the reasons of economical efficiency and improve communication between the designers and shop-makers. The overlap-avoidance algorithm of this paper maximizes the readability of the drawings using the optimization techniques and the heuristic rules, especially for the ship assembly field.
