  • IP-TV 서비스는 통신/방송 융합서비스로서 데이터 스트림이 송출되는 Server로부터 QoS가 보장되는 IP망을 통해 디지털 영상 방송이나 양방향 서비스를 가입자 단말까지 제공하는 서비스이다. IP-TV 서비스는 보안을 위해 CAS(Conditional Access System)를 사용하고, 또한 효율적인 콘텐츠의 전송을 위해 IP Multicast를 사용하게 된다. 보안 기능이 제공되지 않는 IP Multicast는 익명성을 허용하게 하여 eavesdropping, denial of service(DoS) Attack등이 가능하고, 또한 AAA(Authentication, Accounting, Authorization) 기능이 제공되지 않는다. IP-TV에서는 보안을 제공하기위해 Application 계층에서 CAS를 운용하게 되는데, 이는 Network계층에서 보안문제를 해결하는 것 보다 비효율적이다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 IGMP프로토콜을 확장, 개선하여 상호인증을 통해 CAS Server와 연계하여 IP-TV에 적합하게 만든 프로토콜을 제시함으로서, 이와 같은 문제점들을 해결하였다.

TPEG based RFID application service for terrestrial-DMB (지상파DMB를 위한 TPEG 기반 RFID 응용서비스)

  • The terrestrial-DMB (T-DMB) provides one-way broadcasting service in intial phase and two-way interactive data services through a return channel of mobile communications network are commercialized recently. The possible evolution of the T-DMB will be fully convergence between the T-DMB and other communication services such as telematics, RFID and so on. From this evolution point of view, a framework should be defined for supporting telematics and RFID applications on T-BMB platform. In this paper, we propose an integrated service model that could support RFID application services on the interactive T-DMB. To realize the model, we design a service scenario, a network reference model, functionalities of each entity, a data transmission mechanism messages, and coding rules. The service model could allow users to support the identical RFID application services over the T-DMB network even if T-DMB terminal doesn't have RFID reader capability. In addition, in the case for providing the interactive TTI(Traffic and Travel Information)service, users could utilize the current location based RFID application service using by the TPEG-Location application that forms the basis of user location referencing.   • Unlike OSR(observation space representation), the SSR(state space representation) augmentation system is suitable for a one-way broadcasting service because it provides the same corrections to all users in the service area. Due to this advantage, several GNSS(global navigation system) systems such as Galileo, BDS(beidou navigation satellite system), QZSS(quasi zenith satellite system) are establishing PPP (precise point positioning)/PPP-RTK precision positioning services based on SSR messages. Therefore, in this paper, we try to understand the trends of satellite-based PPP/PPP-RTK correction services by analyzing the system configurations, characteristics, and precise positioning performance of satellite-based SSR correction broadcasting services.

Transmission Method and Simulator Development with Channel bonding for a Mass Broadcasting Service in HFC Networks (HFC 망에서 대용량 방송서비스를 위한 채널 결합 기반 전송 방식 및 시뮬레이터 개발)

  • Massive broadcasting contents such as UHD(Ultra High Definition) TV which requires multi-channel capacity for transmission has been introduced in recent years. A transmission scheme with channel bonding has been considered for transmission of massive broadcasting contents. In HFC(Hybrid Fiber Coaxial) networks, DOCSIS 3.0(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification 3.0) has already applied channel bonding schemes for up/downstream of data service. A method unlike DOCSIS 3.0 is required to introduce a channel bonding scheme in the broadcasting service having unidirectional transmission with a downstream. Since a massive broadcasting content requires several channels for transmission, VBR(Variable Bit Rate) transmission has been emerging for the bandwidth efficiency. In addition, research on channel allocation and resource scheduling is required to guarantee QoS(Quality of Service) for the broadcasting service based on VBR. In this paper, we propose a transmission method for mass broadcasting service in HFC network and show the UHD transmission simulator developed to evaluate the performance. In order to evaluate the performance, we define various scenarios. Using the simulator, we assess the possibility of channel bonding and VBR transmission for UHD broadcasting system to provide mass broadcasting service efficiently. The developed simulator is expected to contribute to the efficient transmission system development of mass broadcasting service.

  • As cable TV networks have a media feature that is a broadband wire network, they can provide not only TV broadcasting services but also communication services. Accordingly, the cable TV network is mentioned as the optimal network for convergence of broadcasting and communication services. Recently, Available frequencies of the cable TV network have become insufficient as enhancement of video quality, increment of VoD service, and growth of high-speed internet service. This paper presents a new implementation method of switched digital video (SDV) technology that is introduced for obtaining additional frequency band. In the SDV system, only TV channels requested from viewer are sent and non-requested channels are dropped. The presented SDV uses a sharing method of TV broadcasting and communication service in a same frequency band. This method shows increase of spectrum efficient from switching of TV service channels without building a complex system.

T-Commerce Sale Prediction Using Deep Learning and Statistical Model (딥러닝과 통계 모델을 이용한 T-커머스 매출 예측)

  • T-commerce is technology-fusion service on which the user can purchase using data broadcasting technology based on bi-directional digital TVs. To achieve the best revenue under a limited environment in regard to the channel number and the variety of sales goods, organizing broadcast programs to maximize the expected sales considering the selling power of each product at each time slot. For this, this paper proposes a method to predict the sales of goods when it is assigned to each time slot. The proposed method predicts the sales of product at a time slot given the week-in-year and weather of the target day. Additionally, it combines a statistical predict model applying SVD (Singular Value Decomposition) to mitigate the sparsity problem caused by the bias in sales record. In experiments on the sales data of W-shopping, a T-commerce company, the proposed method showed NMAE (Normalized Mean Absolute Error) of 0.12 between the prediction and the actual sales, which confirms the effectiveness of the proposed method. The proposed method is practically applied to the T-commerce system of W-shopping and used for broadcasting organization.

  • Digital Broadcasting serves a variety of broadcasting services for satisfying the requirement of customers. One of main factors for new broadcasting environment is interoperability between providers and consumers. For this interoperability, metadata standards are proposed for the digital broadcasting and TV-Anytime metadata is one of these standards. On the one hand, there are some researches for efficiently managing the broadcasting metadata on Set-Top Box. This paper proposes the metadata management system for efficiently managing the broadcasting metadata based on the STB which is low-cost and low-setting. Our system consists of a storage engine to store the metadata and an XQuery engine to search the stored metadata and uses special index for storing and searching. We expect that our system will keep the interoperability amongst a variety of applications for broadcasting because we adopts the XQuery for searching the metadata and the XQuery is a standard language for searching XML data.

  • TV broadcasting platform is evolving to the digital-TV, which is supporting data broadcasting service. Although the data broadcasting services (i.e., games, wether information, stock trading service) provide rich entertainment to viewers, they make the operation manners of digital-TV so complex that some viewers feel difficulty in using their TV sets. The paper tackles the problem by devising a method for constructing viewer-specific EPG configurations based on the viewers' ability of handling IT devices. The paper also propose an environment (e.g., EPG configuration transmitting method, EPG structure) that implements dynamically an EPG configuration based on the viewer's choice of EPG configuration.

  • 본 논문에서는 방송, 멀티미디어, 통신 및 가전제어가 가능하고 디지털 아이템의 양방향 거래가 가능한 디지털 컨버젼스 플랫폼을 임베디드 기술을 이용하여 구현하였다. 단말인 SDMP(Software Defined Media Platform)는 디지털 방송과 고화질의 비디오와 오디오를 처리하기 위한 하드웨어 구조를 갖고, 이를 바탕으로 다양한 형태의 코덱 지원 및 여러 가지 서비스를 지원하기 위한 유연 플랫폼 소프트웨어 기술을 이용하여 구현하였다. 디지털 컨버젼스 하드웨어는 RISC CPU와 DSP를 이용하여 임베디드 OS상에서 방송, 통신 및 멀티미디어 서비스를 지원한다. 또한 디지털 컨버젼스 하드웨어는 고성능 DSP를 MPU로 하여 다채널의 입출력 가능한 오디오 코더 및 HD 급 화질 비디오 입출력 처리가 가능하도록 설계한다. 디지털 컨버젼스 소프트웨어는 MEFG-21에 기반한 유연 플랫폼 소프트웨어를 임베디드 Linux 상에서 다양한 서비스 모델을 수용할 수 있는 상위 어플리케이션으로 구현하였다. 이는 네트워크를 통한 멀티미디어를 스트리밍 할 수 있으며, 단순한 재생기의 기능을 넘어서 컨텐츠 제작이 가능하고 능동적인 개념의 다기능 소프트웨어로 컨텐츠를 서로 다른 네트워크 간 혹은 단말 간의 통신이 가능하게 하였다.

  • IPTV, which is convergence of Communication and Broadcasting, has improved quickly recently. This service can provide high quality and various services to their customers, such as choosing channels freely, VOD and many kinds of Interactive service. As the technology of IPTV rapid development, more and more people worry about its disadvantages during the spread and apply, for instance, the illegal application, illegal copy, access authority abuse and the danger of the IPTV contents. This paper will provide the solution to solve these problems, through the Public Key Certificate of PKI(Public Key Infrastructure) and the Attribute Certificate of PMI(Privilege Management Infrastructure).
