Optimal Design for CNG Composite Vessel Using Coupled Model with Liner and Composite Layer (복합모델을 이용한 CNG 복합재 압력용기 최적설계)

  • In this study, CNG composite vessel is analyzed by using coupled model with liner and composite layer. For the coupled model, a method using theoretical analysis and FEA is suggested: elastic solution for laminated tube is used for theoretical analysis of the composite vessel, FEA is performed to the model of CNG composite vessel in actual conditions. On the basis of these results, optimal thickness and winding angle of the composite layer considering the material properties and thickness of the liner are determined. The results of theoretical analysis and FEA are compared with those carried out in previous studies for verifying the suggested analysis method.

Effects of Corner Radius on the Stress Strength Safety of LPG Steel Cylinder (LPG 강재용기의 응력강도 안전성에 미치는 코너반경의 영향)

  • This paper presents the stress strength safety of LPG steel cylinder for various corner radiuses of upper round end plate and lower round end plate by using a finite element method. The FEM analyzed results indicate that the most influential elements is a corner radius of upper round end plate and lower round end plate rather than a thickness of LPG cylinder. But, the thickness of a steel cylinder is an important design element considering for a weight reduction of a cylinder. Thus, this paper recommends that the LPG steel cylinder thickness is 2.3~2.6mm and the corner radius of upper round end plate and lower round end plate is over 157mm as an optimum design for the maximum testing pressure of 3.04MPa.

  • Tractrix dies, used in the deep drawing process, can be used to form CNG pressure vessels without a blank holder. Previous studies had only applied tractrix profiles to perform the first deep drawing process of DDI; but an optimal design of the tractrix die that focuses on improving die life and reducing production cost has not been performed yet. In this study, finite element analyses of deep drawing processes were conducted according to heights of the tractrix die by using translating asymptotes. In addition, researchers analyzed von-Mises stresses at the part of stress concentration of the die according to the forming punch loads in order to propose an optimal tractrix die design.

  • 중대사고관리 전략의 하나로서 피동형-설계에 적용되고 있는 용기내부보존(IVR)기념 - 이 논문에서는 실제적으로 원자로 압력용기벽 외부냉각(ERVC)방법을 사용한다 -이 규제측면에서는 용융물의 냉각가능성 쟁점의 해결이라는 문맥에서 조감되었다; 기술측면에서는 IVR개념의 신빙성 및 유융성이 언급되었다. 덧붙여서, 이 ERVC방법들이 개량형-설계에 적용되기 위하여 요구되는 점들이 규제측면과 기술측면에서 각각 검토되었다. 이 검토결과의 바탕위에서 용융물 냉각가능성/급냉가능성의 쟁점과 관련하여 전력연구원(KEPRI) 신형원전개발센타(CARD)에서 개발중인 한국차세대원전(KNGR)-설계에서 선택될 수 있는 대안적 전략들이 제안되었다: (1) 전략1A: 젖은공동방법의 신빙성에 기반을 두는 것; (2) 전략1B: 젖은공동방법/격납건물건전성에 기반을 두는 것; (3) 전략2A : ERVC방법의 신빙성에 기만을 두는 것, (4)전략2B: ERVC방법/격납 건물건전성의 균형된 접근법에 기반을 두는 것. 마지막으로, 신형-설계적용의 관점에서 각각 규제측면과 기술측면에서 본 현황파악 및 대책마련의 권고사항이 제시되었다.

  • Expert system is a practical application part of the artificial intelligence and can be generally described as a computer-based system designed to simulate the knowledge and reasoning of a human expert, and to make that knowledge conveniently available to other people in a useful way. Expert systems consist of three major components, knowledge base, inference engine and user interface. In this paper, it is aimed to construct a prototype system to design the horizontal-typed pressure vessel. To do this, a representative artificial programming language, Turbo Prolog, was employed, and the knowledge representation was mainly done by the production rule such as "If(condition), than (action)" style and by the predicate logic. In the developed system, it was quite easy to represent the knowledge of "If(condition), then (action)"style and by the predicate logic.   • Recently, there has been an increase in the demand for natural gas as a source of clean energy, which has increased the demand for LNG carriers. However, LNG carriers require a capital investment to obtain equipment for the regasification process, which prevents fires and explosions. Thus, on account of NIMBY, a CNG carrier is suggested that eliminates the need for regasification equipment. Meanwhile, carbon dioxide emissions are more and more regulated by international conventions such as the Kyoto Protocol. Because of this, $CO_2$ carriers have also received international attention as a methodology to transport and store $CO_2$ cargoes. Several vessels or tanks to transport and store $CO_2$ gas have been studied in various countries. This paper proposes a conceptual design for a 20ft container shaped tank to effectively transport small cargoes of $CO_2$ and CNG. The proposed pressure vessel or tank will be carried by a conventional containership or special cargo ship. The influences of the design parameters for proposed pressure vessel or tank. Including the materials, scantlings, and shape of the pressure vessel, are studied theoretically and computationally.

  • Liquefied petroleum gas can be charged up to 85% of cylinder volume by enforcement regulations of safety control and business of liquefied petroleum gas act. The charged mass by enforcement regulations is considered by liquid expansion of internal liquefied petroleum gas at $65^{\circ}C$. But the temperature of liquid would not be suspended under $65^{\circ}C$ in a cylinder or portable vessel at certain situation. In the thermodynamics view point, the cylinder can be exposed to high pressure by liquid expansion. Consequently, it can be possible to potential risk such as physical explosion. Hence, this paper will offer a method of estimated internal pressure by liquid expansion at critical state in the closed system. Also, the structural factor which is given rise to volume increasement of cylinder is offered by experiment. This paper is expected as crucial reference for a cylinder design of liquefied petroleum gas.

충격 및 폭발하중에 의한 동적파괴 해석기법

  • 본 논문에서는 균열이 존재하는 구조부재에 충격이나 폭발하중이 가해진 경우 동적응력확대계수를 구하는 방법들은 논의하고 특히 코오스틱 실험법 및 수치적으로 코오스틱 곡선을 구하여 동적응력확대계수를 구하는 과정을 자세히 설명하였다. 폭발 및 충격에 의한 구조물의 파괴해석은 이와 같은 하중을 받는 압력용기, 빌딩, 초고속선, 해군 함정 등의 파괴강도설계 및 안전성 평가에 핵심기술로 대두되고 있으며 또한 우주항공산업, 고속전철, 암반역학 등의 여러 분야에서 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 따라서 앞으로도 균열진전 및 정지조건, 탄소성 동적파괴해석 및 재료의 충격거동 등에 대한 연구들이 계속되어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.

  • Estimates of the rate of heat removal from the containment atmosphere following a loss of colant accident (LOCA) are important to the prediction of containment peak pressure and temperature which are essential parameters in designing the containment building. An overall survey and discussion of mechanisms, experimental results, empirical correlations and analytical models that are relevant to the heat transfer inside the containment have been made. As a result of this review, the current state of the knowledge about tile containment heat transfer can be understood and it is known that more investigations are needed to avoid the misuse of various correlations.
