Research for improving vulnerability of unmanned aerial vehicles (무인항공기 보안 취약점 개선을 위한 연구)

  • Utilization of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are rapidly expanding to various fields ranging from defense, industry, entertainment and personal hobbies. Due to the increased activities of unmanned airplanes, many security problems have emerged, including flight path errors to undesired destinations, secondary threats due to exposed securities caused by the capture of unmanned airplanes in hostile countries. In this paper, we find security vulnerabilities in UAVs such as GPS spoofing, hacking captured video information, malfunction due to signal attenuation through jamming, and exposure of personal information due to image shooting. In order to solve this problem, the stability of the unstructured data is secured by setting the encryption of the video shooting information section using the virtual private network (VPN) to prevent the GPS spoofing attack. In addition, data integrity was ensured by applying personal information encryption and masking techniques to minimize the secondary damage caused by exposure of the UAV and to secure safety. It is expected that it will contribute to the safe use and stimulation of industry in the application field of UAV currently growing.

  • 산업혁명 이후 인간사회의 산업화 및 도시화의 가속으로 지구온난화는 기후변화를 야기해 왔으며, 이로 인한 각종 부정적인 영향과 심각성은 날로 커져가고 있는 현실이다. IPCC(Intergoverment Panel on Climate Change)는 기후변화의 주범인 온실가스를 감축할 지라도 기후의 탄성 때문에 앞으로 수세기 이상 계속 진행될 것으로 전망하였으며, 기후변화 영향의 근원적 방지는 불가능하기 때문에 결국 수자원 관리 측면에서도 기후변화에 적응하기 위한 각종 적응전략 개발의 필요성을 강조하였다(IPCC, 2007). 또한, 극한강수의 발현비율이 도시 및 비도시 지역의 구분 없이 과거 30년에 비해 크게 증가하고 있으며 이러한 추세는 수공구조물의 치수안전도 저하에 큰 영향을 준다. 우리나라는 그동안 하천, 유역 홍수저감 시설물과 댐 등 대형 수공구조물에 대한 안전성 평가를 주기적으로 수행해 왔으나 단순히 모니터링을 통하여 현재의 안전기준의 부합 여부만을 판단하는 수준에 그치고 있다. 장래 증가하는 홍수피해에 대처하기 위해서는 다양한 극한강우 및 극한홍수시나리오를 기반으로 시설물 설계기준별 홍수 위험도와 취약성을 평가하고, 극한홍수 방어기준을 재설정하여 현재 설계기준을 제고할 필요가 있으며, 시설물별 안전도 평가와 위험도 저감계획 및 경제성 평가를 종합적으로 고려한 실행프레임워크 개발이 시급한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 도림천 유역에 대하여 최적화된 도시유출모형을 통하여 기후변화가 도시유역에 미치는 유출영향을 분석하였으며, MCS(Monte Carlo Simulation)을 통한 극치수문사상의 적용 및 유출분석을 통한 하천제방의 취약성 평가와 위험도 분석을 실시하여 도시하천의 기후변화 영향을 정량적으로 표현하고자 하였다. 또한 기후변화에 따른 도시하천의 수문특성 변화분석 결과를 바탕으로 향후 발생할 수 있는 극치 수문사상의 값을 반영한 설계기준 강화 수방시설 계획 등의 연구에 활용하며, 여러 가지 수문학적 불확실성에 의하여 가변 가능한 도시하천 유역의 취약성 평가 및 위험도 분석을 통한 기후변화 대응과 수공구조물 설계 및 수방전략 수립에 활용하고자 한다.

  • AIS is the most important navigation equipment for the identification of other ships, etc. However, the AIS overload problem has been raised recently due to an increase in AIS equipped vessels. The government is planning to introduce the wireless LTE network at 100 km offshore as part of the SMART-Navigation project. Continuous development and dissemination of the services available through such platforms will be necessary to achieve major goals such as marine accident prevention and environmental protection. In this study, we applied a WAVE communication system, which could be the basis for the development of such services. As a result, reliable data transmission was confirmed for a range of communication of approx. 5 miles, although the service was limited to 1 km in road traffic. Therefore, it is expected that WAVE communication technology will be used to prevent marine accidents through such efforts as collision avoidance and the transfer of marine safety information between ships.

  • The amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions has been increasing steadily over the last 3 years (2009~2011), averaging 5.7 percent a year, due to the growth of low cost carriers and the increased demand for air transportations. The present study attempts to investigate the aviation fuel consumption and GHG emissions of Tier 3a type by the flight phase from three aircraft type such as B737-600(routes between Gimpo-Jeju airport), B737-700(routes between Gimpo-Jeju airport and Inchon-Narita), B737-800(routes between Inchon-Narita) using the Flight Operation Quality Assurance(FOQA) data of the year 2011.

  • In recent years, as safety management in underground mines has become more important in the worldwide, mine safety management technologies combining information communication technology such as real-time worker position tracking, monitoring system and equipment remote control have been developed. Wireless communication system is mainly applied to these technologies for the flexibility of network configuration. There are some cases the monitoring system was installed in domestic underground mines, but, it is necessary to develop the technology more suitable for domestic mining standard. In this study, we developed the real-time environmental monitoring system using ZigBee technology and examined the result of application to domestic limestone mine. Furthermore, applicability of the developed environment monitoring system to $VentSim^{TM}$ LiveView was checked. This study is expected to contribute to the related studies like the optimization of the ventilation system in underground mines.

  • LoRa LPWAN network system uses a license-exempt wireless communication system and implements data measurement through the integrated sensor based on Mems and wireless communication of existing measurement sensors. This system has superior technological / economic superiority using existing network and long distance communication compared to existing wireless measurement system, and secured economical efficiency by minimizing system construction equipment compared to wired measurement system. It is confirmed that the economical efficiency can be reduced by 41% compared to the conventional wired metering system. Since the LoRa LPWAN network system is excellent in terms of maintenance and operation, if installed in many bridges in Korea in the future, it will be developed as an excellent system in the maintenance of bridges.   • Various cryptographic technologies have been proposed from ancient times and are developing in various ways to ensure the confidentiality of information. Due to exponentially increasing computer power, the encryption key is gradually increasing for security. Technology are being developed; however, security is guaranteed only in a short period of time. With the advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, encryption technology is required in various fields. Recently, encryption technology using homomorphic encryption has attracted attention. Security threats arise due to the exposure of keys and plain texts used in the decryption processing for the operation of encrypted information. The homomorphic encryption can compute the data of the cipher text and secure process the information without exposing the plain text. When using the homomorphic encryption in processing big data like stored personal information in various services, security threats can be avoided because there is no exposure to key usage and decrypted information.

Safety Effect Evaluation of Existing Metro Tunnel by Deep Urban Tunnelling (대심도 도심지 터널시공에 의한 기존 지하철 터널 안전영향 평가)

  • Recently, due to the expansion of urban infrastructure using underground spaces in urban areas, many adjacent constructions and excavations have been made carried out between existing facilities, and complaints related to the stability of existing facilities due to close construction have become significant issues. In this study, it was closely reviewed for the existing metro tunnel structure in the new Dongbuk urban metro railway to determine the behavioral characteristics of tunnel structure according to adjacent tunnel construction. Also, it was analysed the evaluation of the safety zone and excavation method for metro tunnel structure. And after a detailed damage assessment, track irregularities and structural calculation by using a numerical analysis, stability of the metro tunnel structure according to nearby tunnel excavation was evaluated to be secured for safety. This study is expected to be applied as practical reference to review the evaluation of safety effects of existing tunnel structure and buildings according to adjacent construction in complex deep urban tunnelling.

  • Due to the recent development of 3D printers, interest in 3D printing is growing. 3D printing should reflect individual needs and various requirements by designing products to suit the user's requirements. Research on how to use 3D printed products for the purpose of purchasing products according to user's demand characteristics is insufficient. Therefore, this study conducted a survey and statistical analysis to find out the factors influencing the intention of purchasing custom controller products in 3D printing environments. Research has confirmed that user innovation and convenience safety are important factors for the satisfaction and purchase intent of personal-tailored controller products. Considering user innovation, convenience, and safety when producing controller products using 3D printing, it is expected that value of custom controller manufacturing can be increased. Research is needed on the personalized product development framework that successfully introduces and systematically supports the production methods of personalized products in the early stages.
