VENTOS-Based Platoon Driving Simulations Considering Variability (가변성을 고려하는 VENTOS 기반 군집 자율주행 시뮬레이션)

  • In platoon driving, several autonomous vehicles communicate to exchange information with each other and drive in a single cluster. The platooning technology has various advantages such as increasing road traffic, reducing energy consumption and pollutant emission by driving in short distance between vehicles. However, the short distance makes it more difficult to cope with an emergency accident, and accordingly, it is difficult to ensure the safety of platoon driving, which must be secured. In particular, the unexpected situation, i.e., variability that may appear during driving can adversely affect the safety of platoon driving. Because such variability is difficult to predict and reproduce, preparing safety guards to prevent risks arising from variability is a challenging work. In this paper, we studied a simulation method to avoid the risk due to the variability that may occur while platoon driving. In order to simulate safe platoon driving, we develop diverse scenarios considering the variability, design and apply safety guards to handle the variability, and extends the detail functions of VENTOS, an open source platooning simulator. Based on the simulation results, we have confirmed that the risks caused form the variability can be removed, and safe platoon driving is possible. We believe that our simulation approach will contribute to research and development to ensure safety in platoon driving.

A Decreasing Trend of Industrial Injuries at a Large Scale Textile Company (대기업섬유업체(大企業纖維業體)에 있어서의 산업재해감소추이(産業災害減少推移))

  • To assess the status of industrial injuries, a large scale textile company located around Taegu city was selected. And it was investigated from January 1981 to December 1982. After the department for workers safety was established, frequency rate of injury was 9.70 in 1981 and 4.15 in 1982, incidence rate per 1,000 workers was 27.11 in 1981 and 12.96 in 1982, and then, intensity rate was 0.33 in 1981 and 0.01 in 1982. The average duration of working loss was 36.64 days in 1981 and 3.34 in 1982. The incidence rate per 100 workers was 2.3 in annual average, 2.7 in men and 2.0 in women. The monthly incidence rate per 1,000 workers was highest as 3.6 in June; daily incidence rate, lowest as 1.8 on Sunday; and the highest as 14.7 from 10 to 12 o'clock in a day. The frequency by injured parts of body was highest as 42.3% on finger and 14.4% on the other part of hand, and the lower extremities as 14.4% followed. According to the kind of injuries, the laceration was the highest as 46.1%, the next was contusion as 15.4%, and the third was superficial injuries as 6.7%, According to the cause of injuries, the machinery accidents showed the highest as 47.1% and the accidents due to hand tool followed as 16.3%. By underlying cause of injuries, the environmental factors were 13.5% and the human factors 86.5%. The psychologic factors among human factors were the most common as 60.6%.

Impact Resistance Testing of NK55 Ophthalmic Lenses in Domestic Market (국내 유통 NK55 재질 안경렌즈의 내충격 시험 평가)

  • Purpose: The present study was performed to evaluate the safety of ophthalmic lenses in domestic market since eyeglasses wearers could be exposed to the negligent accident by damaged ophthalmic lenses. Method: Totally, 160 ophthalmic lenses (NK55, ${n_{d}}$ = 1.56) with the refractive powers of -3D, -6D, +3D, +6D manufactured by 4 companies in domestic market were evaluated using drop ball test. In accordance with FDA standard, steel ball (~16 g) was freely dropped on these ophthalmic lenses from 127 cm high and the surfaces of lenses were observed. Results: From the study, center thicknesses of NK55 ophthalmic lenses manufactured by 4 different companies showed somewhat different numbers even though the lenses had the same refractive index and powers. All convex lenses of +3D, +6D were evaluated as the safe lenses since there was no damage such as crack and broken found on the lens surfaces after drop ball testing. However, some noticeable broken was shown on the surfaces of concave lenses with relatively thinner center thickness. Especially, 59(73.8%) of total 80 concave lenses with the refractive power of -3D and -6D classified as unacceptable lenses to FDA standard. Conclusions: From the results, the negligent accident by damaged ophthalmic lenses should be considered as well as the correction of visual acuity, design and price when customers purchase eyeglasses. Thus, the enforcement regulation like drop ball testing of uncut ophthalmic lens could be suggested to guarantee the safety of ophthalmic lenses in domestic market.

  • 처방전달시스템은 처방의 수행은 의사가, 그에 따른 의약품조제는 약사가 수행함으로써 의약품의 오․남용을 방지하기 위한 의약분업의 실시에 따른 국민불편의 최소화와 약화사고에 따른 인증문제 등을 지원하기 위한 정보시스템이다. 처방전달시스템은 환자 개인정보의 허용된 범위 내에서의 공유와 공유를 위한 각종 개인정보 보호장치, 처방의 안전한 전달을 위한 내용의 비밀보장과 위변조방지 및 송신자와 수신자의 인증을 위한 장치가 필수적으로 필요하다. 또한 자료의 생명주기 측면에서 본다면, 처방전의 생성은 병․의원에서 이루어지며 소멸은 약국 및 환자에의해 이루어진다. 자료의 유통과정에 살펴보면 처방전달시스템의 주요성공요인은 정보의 생산자인 병․의원(의사)의 적극적인 정보제공의지와 이를 지원하는 편리한 정보시스템의 구축이라고 할 수 있다. 정보의 생산자인 병․의원 정보시스템 환경은 다양하고 복잡하기 때문에 기존의 애플리케이션을 이용하면서 처방의 전송을 위해서는 기존 애플리케이션 및 플랫폼에 독립적이며 자료의 적합한 취합과 통합이 가능하도록 지원하는 시스템이 필요하다. 처방전달 메시징시스템은 이러한 복합적인 정보시스템 환경을 지원하며 동시에 처방정보의 안전한 전달을 위해 플랫폼으로 실행될 수 있는 시스템을 말한다. 또한 처방의 비교적 짧은 생명주기와 지역적 생산, 유통구조를 적합하게 지원하기 위해 지역별 독립시스템의 구축과 공통정보 활용을 위한 중앙시스템과의 역할분담 모델에 근거한 분산시스템의 구축이 요구된다. 본 연구에서의 처방전달 메시징시스템은 일반적인 메시지서비스의 특성을 기본으로 자료전달을 위해 자료 암호화와 복호화, 송신자와 수신자에 대한 인증 및 자료접근 제한기능을 제공하며 각 클라이언트와 서버간의 실시간 연결 혹은 지연연결을 지원하는 독립적인 애플리케이션이다. 이러한 처방전달 메시징시스템을 구성하는 각 요소에 대해 정의하고 개념적 모델을 설계하고자 한다.에게 청구되며, 소비자에게 전송 되는 청구서는 사용자DB를 참조하여 사용자가 미리 정의한 원하는 형태로 변환되어 전달되며, 필요시 암호화 과정을 거치는 것이 가능해야 한다. 전송된 청구서는 전자우편의 경우, 암호해독이 가능한 전용 브라우저를 통해 열람 되며, 이는 다시 전용 브라우저를 통해 지불인증이 승인되어 청구 제시서버에게 전송된다. EBPP 시스템의 제어 흐름은 크게 기업이 청구 정보를 소비자에게 제시하는 흐름과 소비자의 지불 승인으로 인해 기업이 은행에 지불을 요구하는 흐름으로 구분할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 통합 청구서버 및 정구 제시서버의 역할 및 구성 요소들에 대해 서술하고, EBPP 시스템과 연동하여야 하는 메일 서버와의 상호 작용에 대해 서술할 것이다. 본 시스템을 아직 구현이 되지 않은 관계로 시스템의 성능 등의 수치적 결과를 제시할 수 없는 상태다., 취약계층을 위한 일차의료, 의약관리), ${\circled}2$ 보건소 조직 개편 및 민간의료기관과 협력체계 확립, ${\circled}3$ 전문인력 확보 및 인력구성 조정, 그리고 ${\circled}4$ 방문보건사업의 강화 등이다., 대사(代謝)와 관계(關係)있음을 시사(示唆)해 주고 있다.ble nutrient (TDN) was highest in booting stage (59.7%); however no significant difference was found among other stages.   • Anyone who wants to install local ventilation system must obtain a permission from the Ministry of Employment and Labor even if he has permission from the Ministry of Environment. This is because not only the Atmospheric Environmental Protection Act, but also the manufacturing industry's hazardous risk prevention plan under Article 48 Clause 2 of the Industrial Safety and Health Act is to be submitted by 15 days before the construction. Under the current Environmental Protection Act, the Ministry of Environment regulates only the emission of pollutants from local exhaust ventilation systems into the atmosphere and the contents of workers' safety and health within industrial sites are managed by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Even with the approval of the Ministry of Environment, the number of unsuccessful cases by the Ministry of Employment and Labor has increased, causing a growing discontent among the sites due to production delays and additional costs of improvement. In addition, local exhaust systems that are at greater risk of fire explosion have increased the risk of severe industrial accidents due to fire explosion. This is due to insufficient design of air volume, control speed, return speed, duct size, and risk of fire explosion. This is because the criteria and procedures for approval of local exhaust ventilation systems are similar, but the Industrial Safety and Health Act adds additional screening items for safety and safety of workers and fire and explosion. In this study, the Environment Ministry and the Employment and Labor Ministry seek to find a reasonable way to operate the system by comparing local exhaust ventilation system installation approval standards.

A optimization study on the preparation and coating conditions on honeycomb type of Pd/TiO2 catalysts to secure hydrogen utilization process safety (수소 활용공정 안전성 확보를 위한 Pd/TiO2 수소 상온산화 촉매의 제조 및 허니컴 구조의 코팅 조건 최적화 연구)

  • In this study, the performance of a honeycomb-type hydrogen oxidation catalyst to remove hydrogen in a hydrogen economy society to secure leaking hydrogen. The Pd/TiO2 catalyst was prepared based on a liquid phase reduction method that is not exposed to a heat source, and it was showed through H2-chemisorption analysis that it existed as very small active particles of 2~4 nm. In addition, it was found that the metal dispersion decreased and the active particle size increased as the reduction reaction temperature increased. It was meant that the active metal particle size and the hydrogen oxidation performance were in a proportional correlation, so that it was consistent with the hydrogen oxidation performance reduction result. The prepared catalyst was coated on a support in the form of a honeycomb so that it could be applied to the hydrogen industrial process. When 20 wt% or more of the AS-40 binder was coated, oxidation performance of 90% or more was observed under low-concentration hydrogen conditions. It was showed through SEM analysis that long-term catalytic activity can be expected by enhancing the adhesion strength of the catalyst and preventing catalyst desorption. It is a basic research that can secure safety in a hydrogen society such as gasification, organic resource, and it can be utilized as a system that can respond to unexpected safety accidents in the future.

A Study on the Role and Implications of PFI Prisons in Japan (일본 PFI교도소에 있어서의 Private Security의 역할과 시사점)

  • Nowadays, national criminal policy focuses on "specialization", "advancement", and "choice and concentration" to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of public peace services. Consequently, the space that a nation manages diminishes and there appears vacant space of security. For that reason, in most developed countries including South Korea, there has been a significant expansion in the size and role of Private Security(PS). From this point of view, the Japanese government has adopted the PFI(Private Finance Initiative) system in private prisons. These cases clearly show the role and significance of "PS". By applying know-how of the private sector, these PFI prisons make efficient use of installation by the united efforts of government and people. Criteria such as solution for risk baring, regional coexistence, preservation of public security, response management and operating skills are considered important particularly in Kitsuregawa and Harima prisons. Thus, this study examines the implications and applicability for the expansion of PS in South Korea.

Oil Fence Durability Enhancement for Marine Environmental Protection : Improvement of Inspection Process (해양환경 보호를 위한 오일펜스의 내구성 향상 : 검정제도 개선 방향)

  • Oil fences effectively prevent the spread of oil spilled in the sea, thereby reducing the damage to the marine environment. However, the fence is damaged by oil and structures at the accident site and is discarded. When incinerated disposal method for discarded fences, fine dust, and harmful materials are generated. Moreover, as a part of the damaged fence is dumped into the sea, it may cause secondary environmental pollution, such as microplastics. Therefore, in this study, durability was measured using the most common solid foam type oil fences. As a result, the reduction rate of after five days of contact was 13 % in seawater and 3 % in oil, affected by temperature changes. Thus, the durability of the fence should be improved because it is exposed to seawater and oil and affected by wind, light, and waves depending on the weather conditions. Therefore, we suggest a method to improve the oil fence inspection to strengthen the durability of the fence's fabric part.

A Study of Explosion Risk Assessment for Designation of Dangerous Goods Transshipment Pier at Ulsan Port (울산항 위험물 환적부두 지정을 위한 폭발 위험성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The explosion of a chemical tanker ship during cargo transshipment via double-banking at Ulsan Port, resulted in major damage including fires involving nearby ships. As a follow-up measure to prevent the recurrence of similar accidents, the 'Safety Management of Dangerous Goods in Port' was established, and the designation of a transshipment pier for dangerous goods is required given the risk of explosion and the impact on major facilities in the port. This study evaluated the Fire & Explosion Index of major transshipment cargoes in Ulsan Port to design a transshipment pier based on the Explosion Risk Assessment. Based on the results of Fire & Explosion Index evaluation of styrene monomer and benzene, severe explosion risk was confirmed, and the exposure radius was calculated. Based on the results of the exposure radius, the risk range for each major pier was calculated, and 12 terminals were proposed as transshipment pier candidates considering port facilities, surrounding dangerous facilities, and residential aspects. Since the results of the study suggest transshipment piers based on the risk radius alone, maritime traffic safety, pier and mooring facilities, safety facilities and accessibility for emergency response should be considered comprehensively to designate actual transshipment piers.

  • Lateral torsional buckling causessafety accidentssuch as collapse accidents during erection. Therefore, anaccurate safety designshould be conducted. Lateral torsional buckling canbe prevented by reinforcing the end orreducing the unbraced length. The method ofreducing the unbraced length by installing a crossframe has high material and installation costs and low maintenance performance.In addition, structuralsafety may be deteriorated due to cracks. The end reinforcement method using Concrete Filled Half Pipe Stiffeneris a method ofreinforcing the end of a plate girder using a stiffenerin the form of a semi-circular column. This method increasesthewarping strength ofthe girder and increasesthe lateral torsional buckling strength.In thisstudy, the effect ofincreasing the warping strengthof plate girders with concrete filled half pipe stiffeners was confirmed. To verify the effect, the results ofthe designequationand the finite element analysis were compared and verified through a experiment. As a result, the plate girderwithCFHPS increased thewarping strengthand confirmed that the lateral torsional buckling strength was increased.
