Design of Dual-band Frequency Selective Surface Applicable to Wi-Fi 6E System (Wi-Fi 6E 시스템에 적용 가능한 이중대역 주파수 선택표면 구조 설계)

  • In this paper, a dual-band stopband frequency selective surface that can be applied to Wi-Fi 6E systems is designed to block external interfering signals with adjacent operating frequency spectrum in indoor wireless LAN environments. The proposed frequency selective surface structure has frequency blocking characteristics in the 2.4GHz and 6GHz bands, and is realized through a modified crossed dipole structure and an interlocking puzzle form between unit structures. The proposed structure is designed to have stable frequency response characteristics with respect to incident angle and polarization, and the experimental results show good agreement with the simulation results for incident waves from 0° to 45°.

Effects on Logging-While-Drilling (LWD) data of mismatch between multipole sources (다극자 송신원들 사이의 불일치가 LWD 자료에 미치는 영향)

  • Using a discrete wavenumber method, we examine the effects on Logging-While-Drilling (LWD) logs when a mismatch exists between the amplitudes or generating times of the signals from individual monopoles in a LWD multipole source. An amplitude-mismatched LWD dipole/quadrupole source produces non-dipole/non-quadrupole modes as well as flexural and screw modes. The strongest of non-dipole/non-quadrupole modes is the Stoneley mode, whose amplitude increases with increasing mismatch. However, we can recover the flexural mode signals by A-C processing, and the screw mode by A-B+C-D processing, respectively. The Stoneley mode, which has the same amplitude at the same radial distance from the borehole axis, is cancelled out by A-C and A-B+C-D processing as long as the tool is placed at the centre of the borehole. The responses from a time-mismatched LWD multipole source look like the summation of responses by two or four monopole sources off the borehole axis. However, we can avoid the misinterpretation of the formation velocities by referring to the computed dispersion curves, which are independent of the arrival times of the modes, on the frequency semblance plot.

  • Electrical resistivity dipole-dipole, seismic refraction, and seismic reflection methods were performed to delineate the boundaries the Yongdong basin(Cretaceous) in terms of physical properties and to ultimately identify the margin architectures of the faults or unconformities. Higer resistivities (approximately >2000 ohm-m) most likely originate from the basement of the basin, contrasting with the lower resistivities from infilled sedimentary rocks. Faults at the eastern margin and unconformities at the western boundary are characterized as high-slope($70^{\circ}$) and gentle-slope($30^{\circ}$) gradients in the resistivity sections, respectively Such features for the boundaries are also suggested by the lower values of seismic velocity and resistivity for the western margin.

  • The chemical behaviour of the Eu(Ⅲ) complexes with organic ligands(tris[3-(trifluoromethylhydroxymethylene-camphorato)]) and tris[3-heptafluoropropylhydroxymethylene-camphorato)] has been investigated by the UV/vis-spectrophotometric, magnetic, and electrochemcial methods. The two or three energy absorption bands are observed by the spectra of these complexes. The magnitude of crystal field splitting energy, the spin pair energy and strength were obtained from the spectra of the complexes. These complexes are found to be delocalization, low-spin state, and strong bonding strenth of electron configuration. The magnetic dipolemoment are found to be diamagnetic. The redox reaction processes of complexes were investigated by cyclic voltammetry in aprotic solvent. The redox reaction processes of complexes are turned out to be single or double reaction with respect to one electron diffusion current.

Electrical Surveys at the Seokdae Waste Landfill of Pusan (부산 석대 폐기물 매립지에서의 전기탐사)

  • Electrical surveys were conducted at the Seokdae waste landfill in July,1996. Within the landfill, 4 lines of dipole-dipole surveys and 7 Schlumberger soundings were carried out and 2 soundings in front of the landfill. In the landfill, interpretations of the survey data show low resistivity zones below 10 Ωm to a depth of 50 m from the surface and such low resistivity zones of the D block are thicker than those of the other blocks by about 2~10 m. Considering the depth of the bedrock and the height of waste reclamation, no evidence of bedrock contamination by leachate is indicated. But it is inferred that the weathered zones are contaminated in the landfill. In the block A and B, minor fault having the strike of N$70^{\circ}$W have been confirmed by dipole-dipole surveys, so future contamination of the bedrock by leachate is possible The degree of ground contamination is the highest in the D block due to the leachate plume mainly heading for this block. On the other hand, electrical soundings do not indicate ground contamination by leachate in the front area of the landfill.

  • The microscopic origin of nonlinear optical properties of quinoline derivatives have been investigated theoretically using MOPAC-AM1 method. In order to prepare promising nonlinear optical active polymers of polyquinoline derivatives, the optimized positions of strong electron donor and electron acceptor are determined in the heterocyclic ring for the energetically favorable structures. For each compound, the effect of the substituted positions on the microscopic nonlinear coefficients were investigated. Polyquinoline was already evaluated to have outstanding physical and mechanical properties so that its monomeric analogues were designed and synthesized for developing new second and third order nonlinear optical main chain polymers. Using the MOPAC-AM1 method, properties calculated include the intrinsic ground-state dipole moments, the polarizabilities, first and second hyperpolarizabilities under the condition of finite-field $(\omega$ = 0).

A Bayesian Approach to Geophysical Inverse Problems (베이지안 방식에 의한 지구물리 역산 문제의 접근)

  • This study presents a practical procedure for the Bayesian inversion of geophysical data. We have applied geostatistical techniques for the acquisition of prior model information, then the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method was adopted to infer the characteristics of the marginal distributions of model parameters. For the Bayesian inversion of dipole-dipole array resistivity data, we have used the indicator kriging and simulation techniques to generate cumulative density functions from Schlumberger array resistivity data and well logging data, and obtained prior information by cokriging and simulations from covariogram models. The indicator approach makes it possible to incorporate non-parametric information into the probabilistic density function. We have also adopted the MCMC approach, based on Gibbs sampling, to examine the characteristics of a posteriori probability density function and the marginal distribution of each parameter.

Annual Variation of Resistivity Structure in and around the Nanjido Waste Landfill (난지도 폐기물 매립장과 그 주변 지역에서의 연간 비저항구조 변화)

  • Schlumberger soundings and dipole-dipole electrical surveys were carried out in and around the Nanjido waste landfill in August and December, 1995. Survey points were set to be identical as those in August, 1994 and February, 1995 as possible. To elucidate the annual variation of resistivity structure in and around the landfill, 50 electrical soundings and 2 lines of dipole-dipole surveys were conducted. Interpretations of these data show that mean resistivity values become lower and thicknesses of contaminated layers by leachate thicker than those of the previous year in and around the landfill. Especially, mean thicknesses of saturated layers with leachate increased by about 3∼6 m and resistivities of bedrock decreased. Considering actual hydraulic conductivity, such increments of mean thicknesses are somewhat large. But resistivity variations in and around the Nanjido landfill clearly indicates contamination of layers by leachate is in progress even though some errors in measurements and interpretations are considered. On the other hand, sounding data in the back area of the landfill are almost identical to those of the previous year. From these results, it appears that contamination of weathered zone and bed rock is in progress mainly inside and in the front area of the landfill.

A Study on the Leachate Distribution of the Mooreung Landfill Site with Electrical Resistivity Surveys (전기비저항 탐사를 이용한 충주 무릉매립장 침출수 분포에 관한 연구)

  • The electrical resistivity prospecting method with dipole-dipole array was applied to the Mooreung landfill site in order to survey the existence of leachate around the landfill site. Moreover, if there is leachate within Mooreung landfill site, the analysis of potential pathways to exterior environments was tried. Within the landfill site, the over-all characteristics of the electrical resistivity anomalies suggest that the leachate induced from the landfill materials has infiltrated the basement rock and fill the pores of basement rock in some parts of the landfill site. The consistency of the anomaly locations (left part of each survey line), anomaly geometries, and absolute resistivity value of anomaly through the 3 survey lines suggests that the resistivity anomaly be connected from the upstream to the downstream and correspond to the leachate material. Finally, the result from the electrical resistivity survey line near the gateway of the landfill site suggests that some of the leachate induced from landfill material leaks to the exterior groundwater system. It is necessary that more surveys using both geochemical and geophysical methods should be performed to find out potential pathways and depths of the leachate more precisely.

  • 본 논문에서 신경망을 이용한 자계기반 자율주행 시스템의 조향 제어기 설계를 제안한다. 자율주행시스템에서 가장 중요한 핵심요소는 자계토로상의 센서의 현재위치를 파악하고 주행하는 것이다. 먼저 자계도로상의 현재위치를 파악하기 위한 방법으로, 첫 번째 자기쌍극자 모델식이 센서에서 측정된 자계와 일치함을 보였다. 두 번째 Peak Mapping법을 이용하여 외란으로 작용하는 지자계 성분을 제거할 수 있음을 입증하였다. 세 번째로 신경망을 이용하여 높이성분($B_{z}$)가 변하더라도 정확한 거리가 계측됨을 확인하였다. 따라서 신경망을 이용하면 소량의 메모리를 사용할 수 있으므로 실제 시스템에서 경제적인 효과를 볼 수 있고, 정확한 거리를 계측하므로 경로를 이탈하지 않고 자율주행이 가능한 시스템을 설계하였다.
