A Study of Communication Factor in the Chinese augury bone (은상(殷商)시기 갑골문(甲骨文)에 나타난 커뮤니케이션 속성(屬性))

  • This study examines a study of communication factor in the Chinese augury bone, as a communication text, a communication history text and a communication thought text, in terms of sender message channel audience effects, interdisciplinary research. In many respects, it is generally accepted that the Chinese augury bone have been the generic references of the Oriental culture. Based on various research results about The Chinese augury boney as a communication text, this paper explores factors of communication text related with meta-communication as the definition of communication and a structure of communication, a method of communication. The Chinese augury bone consider graphic element as communication tool, its manager as sender or communicator, the record as message, the bone as channel, its reader as audience, text understanding and behavior as effects, the augury bone producer as journalist, the tying bone in a bundle as old style book. In the Chinese augury bone, one property of communication thought is that the political ideology, which is related to the strong and weak of the graphic style and determines the naming method of kings.

An Analysis of Professional's Perspectives on the Roles of Socio-cultural Factors and Welfare Technology among Older Adults in the US (사회문화적 요인이 미국 고령층의 복지기술 수용에 미치는 영향: 전문가 인터뷰를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this qualitative study was to identify cultural factors among older Americans that could influence them to accept new welfare technologies. This study also explored how social and cultural-based plans could increase the acceptability of welfare technologies for improving the quality of life of older adults in the future. In-depth interviews were conducted with ten professionals who work with older adults. The collected interview data were subsequently analyzed using a two-cycle open coding process. The data analysis generated 29 codes that were organized into 7 primary codes, or categories, and 22 secondary codes nested within the primary codes. Several themes were identified: individualism, family-oriented culture, pragmatism, low-context culture, privacy, fun-seeking culture, and a less hierarchical culture. These findings will inform the development of a future survey to examine the relationship between older adults' intentions when using technology and socio-cultural factors in community settings. In order to explore the different impact levels of the cultural factors found in this study, the future study will need to include measures for identifying socio-cultural variations among individuals in one country or across countries.

A Study on Key Parameters and Distribution Range in Rock Mechanics for HLW Geological Disposal (고준위방사성폐기물 심층처분을 위한 암반공학분야 핵심 평가인자 및 분포범위 연구)

  • The site selection process for deep geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste will be conducted in stages, and 103 evaluation parameters related to site selection have been proposed. In the field of rock mechanics and rock engineering, there are 33 evaluation parameters for intact rock, joint and rock mass, and they are applied in the basic and detailed investigation stages. In this report, uniaxial compressive strength, in-situ stress, joint distribution, and rock mass classification were selected as the main evaluation parameters, and among them, uniaxial compressive strength and in situ stress were selected as key evaluation parameters. Statistical techniques or regression analysis were performed for granite in Wonju and Chuncheon to evaluate the distribution range for the selected key evaluation parameters. The average of the uniaxial compressive strength in the Wonju area estimated through the posterior distribution is about 171 MPa, and about 123 MPa in the Chuncheon area. The maximum in situ stress acting in the Wonju area was less than 30 MPa and less than 40 MPa in the Chuncheon area. The direction of the maximum horizontal stress calculated by regression analysis was 101° in Wonju, and in the case of Chuncheon, it was 95°, respectiviely.

The Effect of Startup Support Policy on Entrepreneurship: Focusing on TIPS Support Projects by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (창업지원정책이 기업가정신에 미치는 영향: 중소벤처기업부 팁스(TIPS) 지원사업을 중심으로)

  • This study studied the effect of the TIPS support project of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on the entrepreneurship of TIPS start-ups. The Tips start-up company, which is the subject of the study, was selected for the TIPS support project, participated in all commercialization funds, incubation facilities, and capacity building programs, and was selected as a company that received private investment. One-on-one in-depth interviews were conducted for about eight weeks from January 14, 2022 to March 11, 2022. For this study, the TIPS support project was subdivided into four categories: commercialization funds, incubation facilities, capacity building programs, and private investment attraction, and entrepreneurship factors were classified into four categories: innovation, challenge spirit, leadership, and risk-taking. As a result of the in-depth interview, the influence of the TIPS support project on entrepreneurship factors was in the order of challenge spirit, innovation, risk-taking, and leadership. Specifically, it was found that commercialization funds influenced innovation and risk-taking, incubation facilities had a challenge spirit and risk-taking, competency-building programs had a challenge spirit and leadership, and attracting private investment had an influence on innovation and challenge spirit. The implications of this study are that the TIPS support project, a private investment-led technology start-up support program, was introduced in 2013 and as of the end of March 2022, and a report was prepared focusing on visible performance such as private investment performance and employment rate. However, through this study, by analyzing whether the TIPS support project contributed to the cultivation of entrepreneurship for TIPS start-ups, it was found that it had a positive influence not only on quantitative growth but also on qualitative growth.

Qualitative Inquiry on Ways to Improve Science Instruction and Assessment for Raising High School Students' Positive Experiences on Science (고등학생의 과학긍정경험 향상을 위한 교수학습 및 평가 개선 방안에 대한 질적 탐구)

  • In this study, we investigated the characteristics of students participating in Science Core high schools classes and their relevance to Positive Experiences on Science (hereinafter, PES), and factors causing PES, presented by the students of Science Core high schools. A total of 20 students and five teachers in four regions across the country participated in the in-depth interview, which were conducted with the focus group of students first, and then in-depth interviews with teachers. Based on the interview results, we explored teaching and learning experiences helpful to the PES, assessment experiences resulting in the PES, and ways to support Science Core high schools to enhance their PES. Students and teachers of Science Core high schools argued that students' participation will increase only if they engage in classes while drawing attention within the range that students can understand, students' PES such as scientific interest can be improved through experiments in which students choose topics or design their own exploration process, science competencies such as science problem solving ability and scientific thinking ability should be developed through exploratory experiment activities that fit the nature of science, etc. In addition, regarding ways to improve and support Science Core high schools to enhance PES, securing science class hours, restructuring the contents of science elective courses, and necessity of maintaining Science Core high schools are suggested. Based on the research results of science high school students' PES, ways to improve the PES of general high school students are discussed.

Development of the Safety Case Program for the Wolsong Low- and Intermediate-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility in Korea (중·저준위 방사성폐기물 처분시설을 위한 Safety Case 종합프로그램의 개발)

  • The safety case program has been prepared for the development of the disposal facility of low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste in Korea. For the development of the radioactive waste disposal facility, this program can be applied for the safety demonstration of the facility and for the safety judgment of development step based on the international standards and domestic development environment. Systematic safety approach of this program includes the safety strategies such as optimization, robustness, demonstrability and defense-in-depth principle which are based on the safety principle and objectives. From the quality of assessment basis, safety arguments focused on the uncertainty management and the confidence building can assure the disposal safety during the step-wise safety assessment.

  • This paper deals with usability issue that is one of the important user interface issues in multimedia environment. The purpose of this study is to define the concept of affordance in multimedia environment, which is adapted from product design fields and to seek development plan of more efficient interface and assurance interaction with interface. As a result, it is useful that the concept of affordance in multimedia design is applied as a 'useful clue for performing task.' Furthermore, it is possible that the concept of affordance is used as one of the improving methods of usability for users in multimedia environment.

  • The aim of the study is to identify the design principles for user interface required to increase the usability of research information systems and to develop the heuristics for the research information systems. For this purpose, a series of literature review was conducted to examine the user interface design principles for the research information systems, and the in-depth interview and participant observation were performed on the users of the systems and experts in the field of user interface to investigate the design principles and the interface factors for applying such principles in the systems. Based on the results, the heuristics of 86 items in 7 different dimensions were proposed.

  • Immunohistochemical staining for keratin proteins may be useful as a diagnostic parameter in head and neck neoplasm. Our study evaluates the keratin antibody staining properties of normal tissues and squamous cell carcinoma of the vocal folds from surgical procedures performed on 27 cases. In normal epithelia, low molecular weight cytokeratins were strongly positive in basal layer but apparently reduced in suprabasal layers and completely negative in superficial layer. In invasive squamous cell carcinomas, low molecular weight anti-ck Ab were positive in all carcinoma cells of poorly differentiated carcinomas. On the other hand, high molecular weight anti-ck Ab were positive in almost carcinoma cells of well differentiated carcinomas.

  • Logical thinking and creative thinking. in the elementary school are very important. Even though these have been studied very many, the computer program education has the lack of instruction strategy. In this paper, the instruction strategies of computer program language education in the elementary school to improve them are proposed. These are the principles of the input and output, effectiveness, generalization, simplification, and the principles of abstraction. These five principles are verified by the 20 experts from deep interview. Using the results of this study will contribute a lot of the program language eduction for elementary school teachers.
