A Framework of Recognition and Tracking for Underwater Objects based on Sonar Images : Part 2. Design and Implementation of Realtime Framework using Probabilistic Candidate Selection (소나 영상 기반의 수중 물체 인식과 추종을 위한 구조 : Part 2. 확률적 후보 선택을 통한 실시간 프레임워크의 설계 및 구현)

  • In underwater robotics, vision would be a key element for recognition in underwater environments. However, due to turbidity an underwater optical camera is rarely available. An underwater imaging sonar, as an alternative, delivers low quality sonar images which are not stable and accurate enough to find out natural objects by image processing. For this, artificial landmarks based on the characteristics of ultrasonic waves and their recognition method by a shape matrix transformation were proposed and were proven in Part 1. But, this is not working properly in undulating and dynamically noisy sea-bottom. To solve this, we propose a framework providing a selection phase of likelihood candidates, a selection phase for final candidates, recognition phase and tracking phase in sequence images, where a particle filter based selection mechanism to eliminate fake candidates and a mean shift based tracking algorithm are also proposed. All 4 steps are running in parallel and real-time processing. The proposed framework is flexible to add and to modify internal algorithms. A pool test and sea trial are carried out to prove the performance, and detail analysis of experimental results are done. Information is obtained from tracking phase such as relative distance, bearing will be expected to be used for control and navigation of underwater robots.

  • 1959년 한국원자력연구소가 창립됨과 동시에 &Health Physics&, 즉 보건물리라고 하는 명칭과 조직이 탄생되어, 방사선안전관리의 실무와 보건물리의 연구가 시작되었다. 최초 10년간은 선진제국의 보건물리분야의 연구와 기술을 추적하여 우리나라의 방사선안전관리 기술의 기초를 다지는 시기로서 개인방사선모니터링기술, 환경방사선(능) 모니터링기술 및 방사선방어용계측기기의 교정기술 개발에 중점을 두고 연구개발이 추진되었으며, TRIGA Mark-II 연구용원자로의 가동에 따라 원자로 생체차폐체의 건전성 검증에 관한 유익한 방사선량 측정자료도 얻게 되었다. 즉 이 기간은 방사선안전관리의 체제정비 및 기초기술 확립에 노력한 기간이었다. 1970년대는 원자력 연구개발에 대한 기본방향과 정책의 변경등으로 보건물리 연구조직은 방사선안전관리, 환경연구 그리고 방사화학분야로 분산되었으며, 그로인하여 연구개발활동은 거의 정체되어 겨우 방사선안전관리 실무만이 그 명맥을 유지하였다. 그 결과 우리나라 방사선안전관리 및 그와 관련된 연구개발의 기반이 흔들리게 되었으나, 그러한 환경하에서도 방사선량측정평가기술, 방사선차폐설계기술 및 원자로사고시 피폭선량평가기술의 선진화에 필요한 지식을 얻었으며, 방사선 안전관리에 유익한 실무경험도 축적하게 되었다. 1980년대는 통합된 원자력 연구개발체제의 구축으로 방사선작업종사자 및 일반공중의 피폭저감화 기술개발에 필요한 각종 최신기술을 도입하였고, 관리업무에 있어서도 측정의 정확도와 신뢰성향상 및 새로운 관리기술의 개발에 많은 노력을 한 결과, 유익한성과를 얻게된 기간이다. 특히, 이 기간은 방사선안전관리기술의 선진화를 위한 지식이 축적되어 90년대의 방사선안전관리기술자립화를 위한 전환기로서, 이와같이 축적된 기술은 원자력의 평화적 이용에 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.서 dithiothreitol를 투여한 군에서는 우라늄단독투여군에 비해 cretinine의 배설이 상당히 증가하였다(P<0.05). 6. 우라늄오염에 의한 신장의 소견에 있어 우라늄단독투여군은 근위곡세뇨관상피의 공포화 및 종창, microvilli와 brush border의 손실, 세뇨관 상피의 괴사가 관찰되었으며, 간장의 충혈, 중심성 괴사 및 모세관 확장증도 관찰되었다. 그리고 sodium bicarbonate와 생리적 식염수를 병행투여한 군과 우라늄을 투여하고 30분이 지나서 dithiothreitol를 투여한 군에서는 우라늄 단독투여군에 비해 높은 방호효과가 관찰되었으나 다른 실험군에서는 큰 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 우라늄의 체내오염시에는 sodium bicarbonate와 생리적 식염수를 가능한 빨리 병행투여하거나 dithiothreitol을 체내오염후 30분이 지나서 투여하는 방법이 우라늄오염에 대한 제염에 매우 유효할 것으로 생각되며, 특히 우라늄에 의한 인체장해를 유의하게 경감시켜줄 것으로 사료되었다.내의 어떤 부위와도 관계가 되는 것으로 간주되는데 이것이 $(^3H)$ QNB가 $(^3H)$ NMS보다 높은 최대 결합능력 $(B_{max})$을 나타낼 이유이다.   • Data transfer rate and storage capacity are main criteria of the performance of the optical disk drive. The highest data transfer rate and the largest storage capacity is most desirable. To increase these performances, the actuator of the optical disk drive should have a high servo bandwidth to compensate the vibration of an optical disk. The servo bandwidth is limited by some flexible modes of the actuator, thus it is essential to increase the natural frequencies of the flexible modes. In this paper, we suggested a moving magnet type actuator having high frequencies of the flexible modes. Generally, the moving magnet type actuator has an advantage to increase the natural frequencies of the flexible modes because the moving magnet type actuator has simple structure and the Young's modulus of magnet is high. However, large moving mass and inefficiency of EM(electromagnetic) circuit cut down driving sensitivities of the actuator. To improve driving sensitivities, we designed the model with the closed electromagnetic circuit for tracking direction. In addition, driving sensitivities and the natural frequencies of the flexible modes were improved by using DOE(design of experiments) for electromagnetic circuit and modifying the lens holder.

  • In this paper, we design and implement the authentication system for home network service and applied it to actual sensor nodes. We achieved authentication key, encryption and decryption applied RC5 encryption algorithm of SNEP. In addition, we used pair-wise key pre-distribution for prevention of authentication sniffing in wireless sensor network. The experiment environment consists of a base station receiving data and sensor nodes sending data. Each sensor nodes sends both the data and encrypted authentication key to the base station. As a simulation environment, we assumed some what-if scenarios of security menaces in home network service. And we slightly altered the TOS_Msg construction of TinyOS. The experiences had shown that the malfunction doesn't happen in communication among other groups. And we confirmed in tests that the system is secure when a sensor having malicious propose is added.

  • In this paper, we present the new angular velocity pick-off method for DTG (dynamically tuned gyroscope) which is widely used in various inertial navigation systems and motion control systems. In case of the external angular velocity input, the proposed scheme can make a smaller tilt-angle rather than that of conventional PI method in the transient and steady state because it has an additional inner rebalance loop with a mathematical model of the real gyroscope. So, without any mechanical redesign of the DTG, its dynamic range can be enlarged by the proposed method. The theoretical analysis and simulation model of DTG with the proposed scheme are given. Finally, the proposed scheme is verified.

A Study on the EPL using Instructional Model of SW Major's Programming Class (EPL 기반의 SW전공자를 위한 프로그래밍 수업 모형에 관한 연구)

  • Although programming language is a core education area of software that is becoming increasingly important in the age of the fourth industrial revolution, as it requires logical thinking skills, it is recognized as a difficult subject even for SW major students. This difficulty occasionally causes SW major students to lose interest and confidence in their major during the introductory course of a programming language; making them change their majors, or give up their studies. In this study, we designed an instructional model using Scratch for educating C language which is a typical programming introductory language. To do this, we analyzed the concepts that can be trained by Scratch among the programming concepts supported by C language, and developed the examples of Scratch for exercising the concepts. The instructional model supports the progress model of learning first the programming concepts through Scratch and then expand the learning content into C language. We also conducted an experiment on the SW major freshman students of a local private university to verify the effectiveness of the model.

Development of a PTC Heater for Supplementary Heating in a Diesel Vehicle (디젤 차량의 보조 난방을 위한 PTC 히터 개발)

  • Using positive temperature coefficient (PTC) heater as supplementary heating for diesel engine vehicles with low heat source is a good method to enhance the heating performance during cold start. In this study, the PTC elements were made by using screen printing process for forming ohmic contact layer, and prototype of PTC heater was designed and made for a diesel engine vehicle. In process of designing the PTC heater, the thermal flow analysis of PTC element modules was conducted for verifying the effect of the shapes of contact surface between each of the components (cooling fin, insulator, ceramic element). We also investigated the performance characteristic (heating capacity, energy efficiency, pressure drop) of the PTC heater through the experiments. Therefore, the experimental results indicated that prototype of PTC heater had satisfactory performance. This study will be basis for improving the manufacturing process and increasing the performance of the PTC element and heater.

A Study on the Standard Architecture of Weapon Control Software on Naval Combat System

  • The Weapon Control Software performs the function of supporting weapon operation within the Naval Combat System in connection with the Weapon System. As Weapon Control Software depends on an Weapon System, it has the characteristic that software modification is unavoidable with the change in Interface information. Modification of software causes an increase in development costs since it must take verification step such as software reliability test. In this paper, We design the standard architecture of weapon control software to minimize the modification elements of existing weapon control software. For Interface information management, Feature Model were applied to make a division between common factor and variable factor. In addition, Strategy Pattern were applied to improve the software design. Software evaluation test results show that new architecture provides better modifiability and reuse than existing software as well as the cost of development decrease.

  • Real-time systems using web cralwing data must provide users with data from the same database as remote data. To do this, the web crawler repeatedly sends HTTP(HtypeText Transfer Protocol) requests to the remote server to see if the remote data has changed. This process causes network load on the crawling server and remote server, causing problems such as excessive traffic generation. To solve this problem, in this paper, based on user events, we propose a real-time web crawling technique that can reduce the overload of the network while securing the reliability of maintaining the sameness between the data of the crawling server and data from multiple remote locations. The proposed method performs a crawling process based on an event that requests unit data and list data. The results show that the proposed method can reduce the overhead of network traffic in existing web crawlers and secure data reliability. In the future, research on the convergence of event-based crawling and time-based crawling is required.

Study of Longitudinal Stability of eVTOL UAM with Tilt Rotor and Tandem Wing (Tilt Rotor와 Tandem Wing을 적용한 eVTOL UAM의 세로안정성 연구)

  • To improve the lift, cruise speed, and range of eVTOL aircraft, which are being considered as future transportation vehicles, this paper introduces the concepts of Tilt Rotor and Tandem Wing to the aircraft. We developed an aircraft and conducted flight experiments to obtain flight videos and flight logs. The results of the analysis of the flight videos and flight logs showed that the aircraft's moment was excessively forward and the attitude was not recovered. To address this problem, we modified the wing incidence angles and surface areas in XFLR5 to obtain the optimal pitching moment coefficients to ensure vertical stability. We then analyzed the redesigned aircraft, developed using CATIA, through XFLR5. The results of this study provide valuable insights, suggesting that the incorporation of Tilt Rotor and Tandem Wing designs can contribute to achieving stable pitching moment coefficients. This innovative approach offers a promising avenue to significantly enhance vertical stability in UAM vehicles, paving the way for future advancements in the field.
