Building a Community of Practice of Research Data Curators: A Qualitative Study (연구데이터 큐레이터로 구성된 실천공동체 구축에 관한 질적 연구)

  • This study examined the activities of Community of Practice (CoP) of research data curators, including their community building and maintenance activities, by using activity theory as its main theoretical framework. The study used an embedded multiple-case study design for exploring the activities of three CoP of research data curators. The case study design used document analysis and semi-structured interviews to collect data. Besides the community building and maintenance activities, other activities were performed in the CoP of research data curators, which could be largely divided into curation activities, education activities, and communication activities. Membership was largely divided into institutional membership and individual membership, and the motives for members to join and contribute to the CoP vary from extrinsic to intrinsic motivations. Finally, we identified and categorized challenges and success indicators for CoP of research data curators as perceived by participants. In particular, we identified three types of challenges or contradictions the communities faced and 14 perceived indicators of success. This study informs the practice of research data curation by providing a knowledge base for building and maintaining a CoP of research data curators.

Effects of Physical Activity in the Elderly with Osteoarthritis on Stress and Health-related Quality of Life (EQ-5D) : Using Data from the 2018 National Health and Nutrition Survey (골관절염 노인의 신체활동이 스트레스 및 건강관련 삶의 질(EQ-5D)에 미치는 영향 : 2018 국민건강영양조사 자료 이용)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of physical activity in the elderly with osteoarthritis on stress and health-related quality of life (EQ-5D). This study performed data analysis using the SPSS 17.0 program in 104 elderly people with osteoarthritis over 65 years old using raw data from the 7th National Health and Nutrition Survey. The main results of this study are as follows: Males exercised more strength than women, and the better the subjective health status, the higher the rate of walking and aerobic activity. The group that felt stress showed a higher rate of walking and aerobic activity than the group that had no stress, and one group that felt a little stress practiced walking more than 3 days. The exercise ability of the elderly with osteoarthritis was better in the group who practiced walking, strength training, and aerobic activity than in the group without physical activity, and in self-management, the group practicing exercise and aerobic activity had problems with self-management. There was no daily activity, and the group that practiced walking and strength training also showed a high level of daily activity. In the area of pain/discomfort, the group practicing walking showed less pain/discomfort, and in the area of anxiety/depression, the group practicing walking showed less anxiety/depression. In conclusion, it is considered that in order to increase the quality of life of the elderly with osteoarthritis and to manage the stress, active efforts to increase the level of physical activity are necessary.

Analysis of the contents of Practice and Synthetic Application area in Yanbian Textbooks (중국 연변 수학 교과서의 실천과 종합응용 영역에 나타난 학습내용 분석)

  • Chinese mathematical curriculum is divided 4 areas(number and algebra, space and figure, statistics and probability, practice and synthetic application). The purpose of this paper is to analyze the contents of the practice and synthetic application in yanbian elementary textbook. For this, 12-textbook which was published in yeonbeon a publishing company is analyze by topic, mathematical process, area of content and mathematical activity. mathematical process The following results have been drawn from this study. First, contextual backgrounds of practice are restricted in classroom. The contents of synthetic application are limited in connection of mathematical areas. Mathematical problem solving is a main in mathematical process, whereas reasoning activity is a few. Mathematical experience activity is a main in mathematical process, whereas synthetic activity is a few. We can use the suggestions of this paper for development of textbook and the contents of mathematical process.

유치원과 초등학교 1학년 활동중심 수학교육의 실천 방안 모색

  • 유치원과 초등학교 1학년 아동은 그들의 발달특성과 학습의 효율성 측면을 고려할 때, 일상생활 경험과 놀이 활동 등을 이용한 활동중심 교육방법으로 상호 연계성있게 수학을 학습하는 것이 바람직하다. 이러한 필요성에서, 본 연구는 현행 교육과정 상에 제시된 수학교육의 성격과 목표, 내용, 교수방법, 평가 면에서 유치원과 초등학교 1학년 간에 얼마나 연계되어 있는 지를 분석해 보았다. 분석 결과, 유치원과 초등학교 1학년 수학 교육과정 간에는 수학교육의 방향 및 목표, 내용 영역, 교수학습 방법, 평가 면에서 대체로 높은 연계성을 보였다. 그러나 교과 편제나 명칭, 세부적인 내용 구성에서 차이가 있었으므로 이를 해결하기 위한 교육과정 상에서의 연계 실천 방안을 제시해 보았다. 그리고 실제 수학 교육 활동측면에서의 실천 방안으로서 활동중심 교수학습 자료의 개발, 수학 영역 설치를 통한 개별화 교육의 실천, 가정과의 협력 방안 등을 제시해 보았다.

Analysis of Activities in Chemistry Chapters of Middle School Science Textbooks for the 2009 Revised Science Curriculum: Focus on 8 Science Practices (2009 개정 교육과정에 따른 중학교 과학교과서 화학 단원에 포함된 활동 분석: 8가지 과학 실천을 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed activities in chemistry chapters of middle school science textbooks for the 2009 revised curriculum using 8 science practices. All the activities that students could experience inquiry were analyzed in this study. There were the most activities in 'Molecular motion and change of state' and the least activities in 'Heat and our life' of three textbooks. There were the most science practices in 'Features of substance' in two textbooks, but there were the least science practice in 'Heat and our life' of three textbooks. 'Investigation planning and performing', 'data analyzing and interpreting', and 'explanation composition and problem solution designing' were frequently included, but 'asking questions and defining issues' was not included at all. For 'Investigation planning and performing', 'data analyzing and interpreting', and 'explanation composition and problem solution designing', a variety of achievement goals were targeted while a few goals were frequently targeted. Two to four kinds of science practices were frequently included in an inquiry activity. There were few activity that includes over 5 different kinds of science practice.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 고령화 사회로 가고 있는 현 상황에서 여러 가지 만성질환이 대두되고 있고, 이에 따른 신체활동의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 하지만 우리나라의 경우 신체활동 실천율이 낮은 것이 현실이다. 신체활동의 실천율을 향상시키기 위해서는 신체활동을 결정짓는 요인들에 대해 파악이 필요하며 이번 연구에서는 낮은 운동 실천율과 운동방식의 성격을 볼 때 지역사회의 건강생활 실천을 위해 신체활동을 늘이기 위한 구체적 전략이 필요하고, 국민건강증진사업의 중요한 영역의 하나로 보건사업 영역에서 운동 모형을 개발하는 연구가 시급한 과제가 되겠다. 이에 앞서 지역사회 인구의 운동실태와 운동 환경여건을 조사하는 것이 선행되어야 하겠다. 이번 연구는 일개 광역시 주민들을 대상으로 일반적 특성 및 건강행동관련 특성을 조사하고, 또한 신체활동의 정도를 조사하여 실태파악 및 관련된 연관성을 알아보고자 시행하였다.

Analysis of inquiry activities in the life science chapters of middle school 'science' textbooks: Focusing on Science Process Skills and 8 Scientific Practices (중학교 과학교과서 생명과학 단원의 탐구 활동 분석: 과학탐구 기능과 8가지 과학 실천을 중심으로)

  • In this study, we analyzed activities in life science chapters of middle school 'science' textbooks for the 2009 revised Korea national curriculum and examined the difference between the analysis based on scientific practices and the analysis based on inquiry skills. As a results, there was a lot of inquiry skills in the order of 'reasoning', 'observing', 'classification' in the all of grade. In scientific practices, 'data analysis and interpretation' and 'constructing explanations and devising problem solving' were biased. This shows that life science inquiry activities in middle school 'science' textbooks are lacking in diversity in scientific practice elements as well as inquiry skills, and that the goals of the activities are limited. In addition, through the interrelationships between scientific inquiry skills and scientific practice elements, we examined contents relevance in the transition from inquiry function center to scientific practice, and compared with the results of inquiry activities in textbook, The results of this study were matched monotonously due to the tendency to basic inquiry-data interpretation / basic inquiry-explanation. This comes from results of the lack of diversity in activities presented in middle school 'science' textbooks. In this study, it is suggested that efforts should be made to include diverse scientific practice elements in the process of realizing 2015 revised Korea national curriculum from the simple and diversity-less inquiry activity through analyzing the textbooks of the 2009 revised Korea national curriculum.

  • The cultivation of scientific literacy in recent science education can be improved by experiencing and understanding scientific inquiry by which scientific knowledge is formed. The National Research Council(NRC) released the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) including 8 practices of science that help students experience scientists' inquiry and subdividing achievement standards to perform 8 practices of science into by grade clusters. This study was intended to examine science inquiry activities included in 4 high school chemistry II textbooks developed by the 2009 revised curriculum using the 8 scientific practices and their achievement standards for 9th-12th grade. The science inquiry activities and the science practices included in the 4 textbooks were 173 and 678. The science practices included in the inquiry activities of 4 textbooks included the most ‘analyzing and interpreting data.’ The ‘engaging in argument from evidence’, ‘Obtaining, Evaluating, and Communicating Information’ were less than other practices. The ‘asking questions and defining problem’ and ‘developing and using models’ were not nearly included in the 4 high school chemistry II textbooks.

충북지역 초등수학 영재교육의 분석과 전망

  • 영재교육의 이론적 근거를 제시한 연구물이 국내에는 그다지 많지 않다. 뿐만 아니라 지금 한국과학재단에서 지원하고 있는 전국의 9개 대학 과학영재교육센터 역시 실천적인 차원의 활동을 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 외국의 대학부설 연구소들이 30년 이상 이와 같은 연구와 서비스를 지속적으로 실천해오고 있는 사례들을 우리는 쉽게 찾을 수 있다는 점을 거울 삼아 모처럼 마련된 국가적 차원의 지원을 토대로 그 바람직한 실천과 연구를 위한 방안을 다음과 같이 제시해본다. 첫째, 질적 연구의 집적에 힘써야 한다. 영재교육이라는 특수한 상황을 전제로 할 때는 더구나 그렇듯이 일반화를 전제로 한 양적 연구보다는, 사례연구와 같은 질적 연구물들의 집적에 노력을 아끼지 말아야할 것이다. 둘째, 교수-학습 활동은 활동이론과 구성주의 이론의 적절한 조화가 요망된다. 구성주의 이론에 입각한 교수-학습 활동의 모습을 단적으로 말하자면, 학습자 자신이 주어진 문제 상황에서의 탐구를 통하여, ‘구체적인 것에서 추상적인 것으로’ 나아가 스스로 지식을 구성하는 것이다. 그러나, 활동이론에 입각한 교수-학습 활동의 요지는 활동은 정말로 전형적인 활동에 국한하고 나머지는 교사의 설명에 의해 학습자들이 ‘추상적인 것에서 구체적인 것으로의 소급’이 가능하도록 하는 것이다. 완전히 정반대의 주장을 하는 것 같으면서도 일면 그 타당성들을 갖고 있는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 학제적 ${\cdot}$ 통합적 연구가 절실하다. 연구의 측면에서 수학반 아동과 과학반 아동들의 활동상의 차이점이나 유사점 등에 대한 질적 연구를 시도해보는 것은 매우 의미있는 일이 될 것이다.

Relationship between the Practice of Physical Activity Guideline for Adolescents and Smartphone Problem Experience (청소년 신체활동지침 실천과 스마트폰으로 인한 문제경험과의 관계)

  • This study aims to understand the relationship between the practice of physical activity guideline for adolescents presented by government agencies and smartphone problem experience. To that end, the association between the practice of physical activity guideline and smartphone variables was analyzed by utilizing 62,225 data from "2017 Youth Health Behavior Survey" and multiple regression analysis was conducted using the SPSS 23.0 program. The analysis showed that all physical activity variables, except for "physical activity for more than 60 minutes," have negative effects on the smartphone problem experience. In addition, students who practice physical activity guideline presented by government agencies, such as aerobic exercise, muscular exercise, participation in sports clubs, and sedentary behavior, experienced less smartphone problem compared to those who did not practice, which showed significant differences in gender. According to the results of this study, it is thought that academic in-depth research using this guideline and differentiated physical activity promotion programs by gender will be possible in order to prevent smartphone addiction.
