An Outdoor Navigation System for the Visually Impaired Persons incorporating GPS and Ultrasonic Sensors (초음파 센서와 GPS를 연동한 시각장애인 실외 보행지원 시스템)

  • We propose a wearable system to help the visually impaired persons for walking safely to destination. If a user selects a destination, the system guides the user to destination with position data from GPS receiver and shortest path algorithm. At the same time, after acquiring complex spatial structures in front of the user with ultrasonic sensors, we categorize them into several predefined patterns, and determine an avoidance direction by estimating the patterns. As a result, visually impaired persons can arrive at destination safely and correctly without others help.

Exploring the Meaning of Outdoor Play Spaces Perceived by Young Children and Early Childhood Teachers (유아와 교사가 인식하는 유아교육기관 바깥놀이 공간의 의미 탐색)

  • This study researched the meaning of the outdoor play spaces used by young children, as perceived by them and their teachers. For this purpose, indirect observation, nonformal interviews during the activity of young children and in-depth interviews with teachers were conducted in 3 kindergartens and 1 day care center which operate various programs. As a result, outdoor play spaces were recognized as a psychological space, expanded space and sequential space for the relationships of young children. Meanwhile, early childhood teachers perceived them as a functional space, expanded space and restricted space of the children's daily lives. It was recognized that outdoor play spaces provided the children with good and unstructured environments to reorganize their own daily pattern through expanded play and the chance to naturally form peer relationships. This suggests that the space configuration which is most suitable for child centered development is one that is formed within and by their daily lives, rather than the standardized configuration of outdoor play spaces.

  • Recently, the increasing interest in drones has resulted in development of new related technologies. Attention has been focused toward research on swarm flight which controls drones simultaneously without collision. Thus, complicated missions can be completed rapidly through collaboration between drones. Due to low position accuracy, GPS is not appropriate for the outdoor mission involving accurate flight. In addition, the inaccurate position estimation of GPS gives rise to the serious problem of collision, since many drones are controlled in a narrow space. In this study, we increased the accuracy of position estimation through various sensors with Real-Time Kinematic-GPS (RTK-GPS). The mode switching algorithm was proposed to minimize the problem of sensor error. In addition, we introduced the outdoor swarm flight system based on the proposed position estimation.

  • Situation awareness services which increasingly expand their influence in everyday life can be classified into location-based service and social network service. Their quality of service (QoS) can be differed based on the location accuracy of smart phones and accuracy of directional recognition technology. This study was conducted to analyze GPS, digital compass, radio communication, and geospatial web information which can provide a clue in using the situation aware services based on lab experiments and surveys. According to the result of lab experiment on accuracy of determining location / direction with smart phones, owing to inherent lack of indoor accuracy in determining position and direction, as well as errors in spatial data used as platform, it was found that devices were not provided with sufficiently accurate data when using the situation aware services indoors compared to outdoors. To enhance accuracy of determining indoor positions, there are several methods including location metering based on Wi-Fi, which had several problems compared with GPS used in outdoor environment. Thus, it was determined that more study would be necessary to solve these issues.

  • 현대인은 실외에서 활동하는 시간보다 실내에서 거주하는 시간(80%)이 더 많고, 그로 인해 실외 대기오염보다 실내 공기 오염이 일반인의 건강에 미치는 영향이 더 큰 것으로 보고되고 있다. 국내에서도 1990년대 이후 실내에서의 일일 노출시간 증가, 한정된 공간에서의 오염된 공기의 지속적 순환, 에너지 절감 시스템에 의한 건물의 밀폐화에 따른 오염농도의 누적현상, 다양한 건축자재 및 생활 인테리어 용품의 사용으로 인한 실내 오염원의 존재 등으로 실내 공기질 악화에 따른 건강 영향에 대해 관심이 고조되기 시작하였다. (중략)

  • 이동객체 색인에 관한 기존 연구는 실외 환경의 빠른 속도로 이동하는 많은 이동객체들을 대상으로 과거 궤적과 현재 위치 및 미래 위치를 검색하는 색인 기법들이었다. 그러나 쇼핑몰이나 대형 박물관과 같은 건물의 실내나 놀이동산과 같은 한정된 영역의 이동객체들은 실외 환경에서처럼 빠른 이동속도를 가지고 있지 않다. 또한 이동객체들의 이동하는 영역이 한정되어 있을 뿐만 아니라 최대 수용인원 등이 정해져 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 특성을 갖는 실내 환경에 적합한 색인 기법으로 현재 그리고 미래 위치 질의 처리를 위한 공간색인과 시간 색인을 분리한 두 개의 색인 구조를 갖는 새로운 색인 기법과 가까운 미래 시간의 특정 영역에 있는 이동객체들의 수에 대한 질의응답을 위한 시공간 히스토그램을 구성하고, 적용하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • 통신기기실은 겨울철에도 냉방이 이루어질 만큼 열이 많이 발생하는 공간으로, 다수의 특수형 공조기가 설치되어 운용되고 있는데, 여기서 발생된 열은 열교환을 통하여 실외 기에서 그냥 외부로 버려지고 있다. 이 열은 겨울철에 사무실 난방과 온수공급에 필요한 적당한 온도와 풍부한 열량을 가지고 있어 그동안 활용 방법을 많이 모색해 왔으나, 시도되었던 제품이나 방법은 현실성이 떨어지거나 제품화 되지 못하고 있는 실정이었다. 이에, KT인프라연구소에서는 현실성 있는 제안으로 실외기로 가는 고온 고압의 냉매를 인접 사무실로 자동 전환시켜 난방을 가능케 하는 Package Type의 응축열 난방기를 개발하였는데, 본 논문에서는 이에 대한 개발과정과 Spec을 소개하고, 철저한 성능검증과 에너지 절감 효과 분석 결과를 제시하여 사업 적용에 필요한 기초자료로 활용 할 수 있도록 하였다. 개발된 응축열 난방기는 에너지를 대폭 절감할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 지구 온난화의 주범인 $CO_2$를 감축시킬 수 있어 대외 이미지 개선에도 크게 기여할 것이라고 생각된다.

  • Augmented Reality technologies offer new possibilities to the exploration of spatial distributed information. In this work we describe the main issues in the development of an Augmented Reality system that allows the annotation of objects or features in the real world captured by a camera. The general operation of this kind of systems is described, as well as the main problems that need to be solved. Finally, as an example of case of study, we present an application for the annotation of information relative to containers in a marine terminal.

  • This study is currently presenting a creative education policy through the new 2015 revised curriculum and the Free semester system of Middle School as part of the education policy reform in the government-led, high freedom grade in each regional school board first, emotional schools, friendly school, campus type schools, etc. with creative thinking and improve students' autonomous judgment with the psychological and political reasons meant to provide amusement and certainty of their career choice. This creates space for creative education through the theoretical understanding of the educational philosophical thinking on creativity was to identify the appropriate means of educational space. The purpose of this study was to extract the linkage to produce creative educational environment that is generated through the philosophical thinking of the historical and psychological analysis of creativity with a human being. Future school construction has a future-oriented task should create a creative learning space in the center of the member schools. This creates space for creative education through the theoretical understanding of the educational philosophical thinking on creativity was to identify the appropriate means of educational space. Therefore Philosophical Thinking Creative School of members through the grounds centric collaboration focused on convergence enemy curriculum and school creative autonomy of operation which is central educational environment, that is diversified assistance as an attribute of the environment, space, space, flexible outdoor space, linking enemy center space, different types and sizes of the space case situation, the open space and spatial fusion can be seen the configuration doeeojim with different training space element.

A Study on Inundation Detection Using Convolutional Neural Network Based on Deep Learning (딥러닝 기반 합성곱 신경망을 이용한 자동 침수감지 기술에 관한 연구)

  • 본 연구는 국지적으로 발생하는 침수상황을 빠르게 감지하고 대처하기 위하여 다채널 실시간 CCTV 영상을 무인 모니터링하고 자동으로 감지하기 위한 영상분석 기술을 개발하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이에 다양한 공간에서 촬영된 학습 및 검증을 위한 데이터를 구축하였고, 대표적인 CNN 계열 분류모델을 중심으로 딥러닝 모델을 개발하였다. 5가지 CNN 알고리즘으로 시험결과, ResNet-50 모델의 분류 정확도가 87.5%로 가장 우수한 성능을 보였다. 공간적으로는 실외, 도로공간에서 82% 이상의 분류성능을 보였고, 실내공간에서는 양질의 학습데이터 부족으로 분류성능이 떨어지는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구성과는 지능형 CCTV 기술 발전과 방재 목적의 다목적 활용으로, 향후 홍수피해 저감을 위한 보조적인 수단으로 활용되길 기대한다.
