  • As one of the most serious urban problems, routine city traffic congestion causes not only unpleasantness but also damage with increases of road tolls. Recently, many TDM plans are being improved along with plans to more effectively utilize established facilities and maximize the effect. To achieve the purpose of Intelligent Transport Systems(ITS). Recently, the core of ITS is Advanced Traveler information Systems (ATIS.) that are activity researched. A development of various muti-media system is very important of road guideline. First of all a business processing for offering travel information and give a consideration to the United states of various muti-media systems.

고속도로 통행시간 예측을 위한 TCS 자료 분석 기술 현황

  • 최근 고속도로의 길이와 운전 차량 수가 빠른 속도로 증가하고 있어 운전자들에게 고속도로 교통상황를 신속하고 정확하게 제공하는 것이 중요한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 고속도로통행료수납시스템(TCS: Toll Collection Systrem)은 전국 고속도로를 주행하는 차량의 통행 정보를 실시간으로 제공하므로 교통 상황 예측에 유용하게 활용될 수 있다. TCS 자료는 차량이 입구영업소를 통과한 후 출구영업소를 통과하는 데 소요된 시간으로서, 운전한 시간, 휴게소 체류시간 등을 모두 포함한 통행시간으로 운전자의 운전 특성, 통행 목적, 피로의 정도에 따라 편차가 크게 나타난다. TCS 자료의 통행시간을 기초로 예측된 정보는 이러한 불확실성을 포함하고 있기 때문에 이를 활용하기 다양한 데이터처리 기법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 TCS 자료의 효율적인 전처리 및 교통 예측 기법 현황에 대하여 기술하고 향후 발전 방향을 제시하였다.

Estimation of Willingness to pay for Realtime Route Guidance Information by Contingent Valuation Method (조건부가치측정법(CVM)을 이용한 실시간 경로안내시스템의 지불의사액 산정)

  • This study proposes an estimate method of willingness to pay(WTP) for real-time route guidance systems using contingent valuation method(CVM) under double bounded dichotomous choice question(DBDCQ) and analysis for impact factors of WTP estimation. This study assumed that provided real-time traffic information service is optimal route concepts dealing with traffic conditions on origin-destination. Analysis targets were classified into two groups as short distance path and middle distance path for estimating WTP for realtime route guidance system in a year using the survival analysis method and the regression model with personal information, actual condition and satisfaction of information usage and users' awareness and usage of facilities. As a result, mean WTP of realtime route guidance system is 4,034won/year in short distance path, and 4,884won/year in middle distance path. Therefore real-time route guidance system for longer distance path is recognized as more valuable than shorter distance path. Moreover, the necessity of information was required on a higher income group and higher WTP was estimated on owners of vehicle group and lower awareness of a route group.

  • This research has examined a time series analysis(TSA) of an every hour traffic information such as occupancy, a traffic flow, and a speed, a statistical model of a surveyed data on the traffic fundamental diagram and an expand aspect of a traffic jam by many Parts of the traffic flow. Based on the detected data from traffic accidents on the Cheonan-Nonsan high way and events when the road volume decreases dramatically like traffic accidents it can be estimated from the change of occupancy right after accidents. When it comes to a traffic jam like events the changing gap of the occupancy and the mean speed is gentle, in addition to a quickness and an accuracy of a detection by the time series analyse of simple traffic index is weak. When it is a stable flow a relationship between the occupancy and a flow is a linear, which explain a very high reliability. In contrast, a platoon form presented by a wide deviation about an ideal speed of drivers is difficult to express by a statical model in a relationship between the speed and occupancy, In this case the speed drops shifty at 6$\~$8$\%$ occupancy. In case of an unstable flow, it is difficult to adopt a statistical model because the formation-clearance Process of a traffic jam is analyzed in each parts. Taken the formation-clearance process of a traffic jam by 2 parts division into consideration the flow having an accident is transferred to a stopped flow and the occupancy increases dramatically. When the flow recovers from a sloped flow to a free flow the occupancy which has increased dramatically decrease gradually and then traffic flow increases according as the result analyzed traffic flow by the multi regime as time series. When it is on the traffic jam the traffic flow transfers from an impeded free flow to a congested flow and then a jammed flow which is complicated more than on the accidents and the gap of traffic volume in each traffic conditions about a same occupancy is generated huge. This research presents a need of a multi-regime division when analyzing a traffic flow and for the future it needs a fixed quantity division and model about each traffic regimes.

Effects of In-vehicle Warning Information on Drivers' Responsive Behavior (In-vehicle 교통안전 경고정보 제공에 따른 운전자 반응특성 분석)

  • One of the effective countermeasures for preventing traffic accidents is to provide traffic safety warning information to drivers. Provision of warning information would lead to safer driving to avoid accident occurrence. This study investigated the effects of in-vehicle warning information on driver's behavior. A variety of warning information contents using text, sound, and pictograms were prepared for the field experiments. Individual vehicle speed and acceleration data, which represent quantitative drivers' behavior in response to in-vehicle warning information, were collected using differential global positioning systems (DGPS). Statistical analyses including ANOVA and Tukey's pairwise comparison were conducted. It is expected that the results could be invaluable for designing more effective warning information.

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve the existing phase split algorithm considering the minimum green time in COSMOS. In the case of a signalized intersection where two wide and narrow streets intersect each other, the time required for the pedestrian crossing is frequently longer than the time alloted to the through traffic on a minor street. In order to meet the minimum green time requirement for the pedestrian less time in alloted automatically to the left-turn traffic, creating heavy congestion on the left-turn approach. To solve this problem, this study suggests a new algorithm which shares the barrier using minimum green time and shares the burden with signal phases alloted to the crossing street traffic on the basis of the equal ratio of the degree of saturation, while maintaining the minimum green time requirement. The new algorithm was compared with the existing algorithm by using a microscopic simulation model for COSMOS evaluation developed at Ajou University. The simulation results show that the new algorithm produces better performance than the existing one.

Development of a Cycle-free Based, Coordinated Dynamic Signal Timing Model for Minimizing Queue-Lengths (Using Genetic Algorithm) (대기차량 최소화를 위한 주기변동기반 (Cycle-free based) 동적 신호시간 결정모형 개발)

  • This Paper documents the development of a cycle free based, coordinated dynamic signal timing model for minimizing queue lengths using Genetic A1gorithm. The model was embodied using MAT-LAB, the language of technical computing. A special feature of this model is its ability to manage queue lengths of turning movements at the start of green times. The model produces a cycle-free based signal timing(cycles and green times) for each intersection to minimize queue lengths of turning movements on the cycle basis. Concurrently, appropriate offsets could be accomplished by applying cycle-free based signal timings for respective intersections. The model was applied to an example network which consists of three intersections. The result shows that the model produces superior signal timings to the existing signal timing model in terms of managing queue lengths of turning movements.

  • Variable Message Signs(VMS) is one of the important subsystems of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), which is useful for providing drivers with real-time information on traffic, roadway or weather conditions. In order to maximize the effectiveness of the VMS system, it is required to reflect drivers's preference on designing and operating the system. In this context, this study was conducted to develop strategies to deliver the messages in an efficient manner while many other previous studies focused primarily on the contents of the messages, from drivers's perspectives. Drivers's preference on message expression formats and message display orders were investigated through image analysis in the perspectives of a total of 40 subjects. With respect to message expression formats, drivers preferred Gulim or Dodum in font style, middle arrangement of the letters, pictogram combination as opposed to letters only, blank time less than 0.5 sec, appearing message in animation effect, messages in single phase, non-flashing message. In the matter of message display orders, drivers preferred to obtain link or traffic information in the lust place. Then, they desired to be informed of roadway condition and instructions or recommendations for drivers to cope with unexpected events among various messages for traffic condition.

  • 현재 사용되는 차량 검지기는 크게 두 가지 검지기가 사용되고 있다. 그 종류는 루프 검지기와 영상 검지기인데 지금 이러한 두 가지 유형은 설치 이용되고 있고, 이러한 검지기로부터 수집된 교통량, 속도 등의 실시간 교통 자료는 가공과정을 거친 후 반복/비 반복 정체관리, 돌발 상황관리, 경로안내 서비스 등 다양한 서비스에 활용하고 있으나, 이들 용도 이외에 더욱더 다양한 서비스를 지원하는 작업이 필요하며 예를 들면, 교통정책 평가, 교통사업 평가, 교통안전 증진 등의 다양한 목적으로 활용하는 서비스를 지원하는 것이어야 하겠다. 따라서 현재 이용되는 차량 검지기 시스템의 확대 설치가 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 루프 검지기와 영상 검지기는 복잡한 공사를 수반하며, 가격 또한 높고 USN 기반의 인식 기술에 비해 경제성과 경쟁력이 떨어진다. 따라서 다양한 공공/민간 교통서비스 및 u-City의 응용 서비스 기술에 필요한 USN 기반의 차량 식별/인식/속도 검지 기술의 개발이 필요하다.

Estimation of Predictive Travel Times Using Ubiquitous Traffic Environment under Incident Conditions (유비쿼터스 환경에서 돌발상황 발생 시 예측적 통행시간 추정기법)

  • This study presented a novel method to estimate travel times under incident conditions. Predictive travel time information was defined and evaluated with the proposed method. The proposed method utilized individual vehicle speeds obtained from global positioning systems (GPS) and inter-vehicle communications(IVC) for more reliable real-time travel times. Individual vehicle trajectory data were extracted from microscopic traffic simulations using AIMSUN. Market penetration rates (MPR) and IVC ranges were explored with the accuracy of travel times. Relationship among travel time accuracy, IVC ranges, and MPR were further identified using regression analyses. The outcomes of this study would be useful to derive functional requirements associated with traffic information systems under forthcoming ubiquitous transportation environment
