  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the productivity of elderly employees over 60 years old and to analyze factors that directly or indirectly affect the productivity of elderly employees, based on empirical facts of HR managers. As a result, the factors that have a positive effect on the productivity of elderly employees were attitude and professionalism. The decline in physical capacity due to aging was recognized as a key factor that negatively affected the productivity evaluation of elderly employees. Among the management strategies to improve the work performance, it has been shown that work placement or job redesign according to physical competency contributes to improving the productivity of elderly employees. Also, providing safety education and communication opportunities among workers has a positive effect on productivity improvement. The results of this study suggest that it is important to improve worker productivity by arranging older workers' work experience to be able to demonstrate their accumulated career and expertise and to create a working environment that takes into account physical competence.

  • The Purpose of this paper was to explore the effect of hearing impairment on HRQOL in Korean elders. We carry out a cross-sectional analysis using nationally representative data from the KNHANES, 2016-2018. The survey was conducted on 4,754 elders who responded to questions about hearing impairment. Quality of life was compared between hearing impaired elders and elders with no hearing impairment using the t-test and chi-square test, and factors related to quality of life were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression using SPSS version 22.0. There was significant difference in quality of life between hearing impaired elders and elders with no hearing impairment. Walking exercise were identified as factors related to quality of life in elders with hearing impairment, while marriage status, walking exercise and limited movement were found to be related to quality of life among elders with no hearing impairment. In order to improve the HRQOL of elders with hearing impairment, multidisciplinary efforts and development of educational programs are required.

  • This study was designed to find out the determinants of types of bullying behavior, and the effects of types of bullying behavior on the bullies. For this purpose, a hypothetical model which explains the relationships among 6 environmental factors, 5 types of bullying behavior, and 5 outcome variables for the bullies was developed. Using the data collected from 177 junior and high school students who have bullied the other students, the hypothetical model was tested. For data analysis, a path analysis was used, and the best-fitting model was found (df=78, GFI=0.953, CFI=1.00). As a result of analyzing the model, types of bullying behavior were found to be determined by the different environmental factors: Isolation was determined by 2 factors (feeling of isolation from friends, exposure to bullying), social bullying by 2 factors (lack of support from parents, exposure to bullying), verbal bullying by conflicts with parents, physical bullying by 3 factors (lack of support from parents, exposure to isolation and exposure to bullying), and instrumental bullying by lack of support from parents. On the other hand, the pleasure that the bullies feel after bullying behavior was increased by isolation, verbal bullying and physical bullying, while decreased by instrumental bullying. Guilt feeling was decreased by isolation and instrumental bullying, while increased by physical bullying. Isolation increased the tendency of blaming the victim. Isolation and instrumental bullying increased bullies' self-esteem, while social bullying decreased self-esteem. Verbal bullying increased the extent of bullying, while instrumental bullying decreased the extent of bullying. Based on the findings, the intervention strategies to change the bullies' attitudes toward victim, and to increase social support from the significant others as well as the effective ways to reorganize the school environment in order to reduce and prevent bullying behavior were suggested.

The subjects in this study were 300 female adults who were selected by cluster sampling from the population that consisted of women who were in their 20s to 50s. In the population, some women got leisure dance at fitness clubs, sport lovers' clubs and dance academies in Seoul and Gyeoggn Province as of 2009, and the others didn't. As for the reliability of the questionnaires used in the study, the Cronbach alpha coefficient of the questionnaires was above .70. The major statistical methods utilized in this study were Frequencies, reliability factor analysis, analysis covariate, regression analysis and path analysis. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the women who got leisuer dance evaluated their own physical image and self-esteem more favorably than the others who didn't. Second, the length of participation affected the body shape, satisfaction level and flexibility, and the intensity of participation impacted on the body shape and muscular power. Third, the length of participation had an impact on self-esteem, and the frequency of participation exerted a negative influence on that. Fourth, the degree of participation had a causal impact on physical image and self-esteem. In other words, the degree of getting leisure dance affected self-esteem in a firsthand manner and exerted a secondhand influence on that through physical image as well. The findings of the study suggested that physical image was one of major parameters to link participation in rhythmic exercise and self-esteem.

The study distributed the questionnaires to the adolescents who were middle and high school students in South Korea. The total respondents were 2240. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, Duncan test, and $X^2-test$. Factor analysis showed that body image had four dimensions: appearance management, physical attractiveness, weight control, and the opposite sex fear. The cluster analysis showed that Korean adolescents were segmented into four groups (family preference/school preference group, family dissatisfaction/school dissatisfaction group, family average/peer competition group, family average/peer dissatisfaction group). The four groups were significantly different in regard to three dimensions of body image, self-esteem, and demographics. For example, the family preference/school preference group was most satisfied with their bodies, had a lowest opposite sex fear, and had a highest self·esteem. However, family dissatisfaction/teacher dissatisfaction group was most dissatisfied with their bodies, had a greatest interest in their appearance, and had a lowest self-esteem.

  • This study examined the correlation between college students' unemployment stress and affecting factors including physical symptoms, mental health, and self-esteem. In the results, students appeared to have more stress when they were female, in higher grades, in low satisfaction in their school life, in the lack of leisure time, in inadequate preparation for employment, and when they had none of those who could share their feeling on unemployment than students in the opposite situations. Students' physical and mental health had a positive relation with unemployment stress, and self esteem had a negative relation with unemployment stress. After multivariate analysis, the factors affecting unemployment stress were senior grade and depression. On the other hand, the factors predicting low umemployment stress were male sex, high level of self esteem, and satisfaction in preparation for employment. Therefore, the counselling program for employment preparation should include intervention strategies for enhancing self-esteem besides providing with information of employment.

  • Mobile Internet can be used anytime and anyplace thanks to the portability of mobile phones and wireless connectivity to the Internet. Therefore Mobile Internet users can be in various contexts compared with Wire Internet users in stationary contexts. In this research out of various context attributes, we selected physical context attributes of hands feet and eyes and studied how these affect the performance of Internet use and user\\` satisfaction. For this research we made control1ed experiments in performing the given task in each attribute and measured the task accuracy and the subjective satisfaction. The experiments indicated that each attribute doesn\\`t affect the accuracy and satisfaction when it is given individually but when two of more context attributes are given simultaneously in context of disturbance of eyes and motion of legs the accuracy and satisfaction declines. This suggests that the subjects need more attention for the physical context of two or more factors than one factor because of the attention capacity limit. As the result, the attention capacity for the task shrinks.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine influencing factors on plastic surgery addiction tendency. The participants, 223 undergraduate women, completed the ACSS, SATAQ, and MBSRQ. Data were collected from May, 2014 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square test, ANOVA, logistic regression analysis. Each of variables related to plastic surgery were analyzed between positive expectation group, addiction risk group, or addiction group compared to stable group. The prevalences of stable, positive expectation, addiction risk, and addiction group were 21.1%, 35.0%, 32.7%, and 11.2%, respectively. 45.7% had at least one personal plastic surgery. Personal experience of plastic surgery, high levels of ACSS (Consider), high levels of SATAQ (Internalization), and high levels of MBSRQ (Appearance Evaluation) were all associated with plastic surgery addiction tendency. The results of this study suggest that prevention of early plastic surgery, sociocultural influence and body image disturbances as well as safe guidance for plastic surgery are important in preventing the plastic surgery addiction.
