본 연구는 코로나19 상황에서 대한민국 긴급재난지원금의 모습을 주요 신문사 뉴스 기사들을 통해 분석하고 그 결과를 제시하고자 한다. 분석대상은 2020년 3월 22일부터(긴급재난지원금 첫 보도) 5월 31일까지, 중앙일간지(11개 신문사)의 '긴급재난지원금' 관련 신문기사들이다. 신문기사 분석방법론은 관련 연구주제가 선행연구가 축적되지 않는 상황에서 나름 가치 있는 연구접근법이다. 본 연구에서는 뉴스기사 빅데이터 분석 서비스인 빅카인즈를 활용하여, 관련기사의 뉴스 트렌드, 연관어, 관계도 등을 분석하여 제시하였다. 본 연구는 향후 해당 분석대상을 가지고, 보다 밀도 있고 깊이 있는 언어네트워크(의미망) 분석으로 확장해 나갈 계획이다.

This study was conducted to identify the trends in newspaper articles related to nurses reported after the COVID-19 pandemic, and analyze the image of nurses in newspaper articles. The target of analysis is 199 articles related to nurses reported in four major domestic newspapers for 10 months from January 2020 to October 2020, when the domestic COVID-19 pandemic in full swing. As a result of the analysis, compared to the past, the volume of reports of articles related to nurses increased, and there were many articles on the topic of nurses being treated poorly compared to work, having a sense of vocation and caring for patients. There were many reports of articles that were favorable or neutral, and most of them were reporters, but few were written by professional reporters or medical personnel including nurses. Unlike previous studies, the proportion of nurses in nurse-related articles was often treated as the main character. Both the nursing and the media should make systematic and continuous efforts to ensure that accurate descriptions of the various roles and activities of nurses appear in the newspaper.

Readership of online newspapers has grown with the proliferation of smart devices. However, fierce competition between Internet newspaper companies has resulted in a large increase in the number of hoax articles. Hoax articles are those where the title does not convey the content of the main story, and this gives readers the wrong information about the contents. We note that the hoax articles have certain characteristics, such as unnecessary celebrity quotations, mismatch in the title and content, or incomplete sentences. Based on these, we extract and validate features to identify hoax articles. We build a large-scale training dataset by analyzing text keywords in replies to articles and thus extracted five effective features. We evaluate the performance of the support vector machine classifier on the extracted features, and a 92% accuracy is observed in our validation set. In addition, we also present a selective bigram model to measure the consistency between the title and content, which can be effectively used to analyze short texts in general.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends of 'traditional' terminology in Korea. We focus on an empirical investigation of how media reports are conveying 'tradition' terminology in our society by applying text mining and social network analysis techniques. The analysis covered 2,481,143 news articles related to 'tradition' terminology that appeared in the media since the 1920's. In this research, frequency analysis, association analysis and social network analysis were used on articles related to 'tradition' terminology from 1920 to 2017 by decade. By applying these data science techniques, we can grasp the meaning of social culture phenomenon related 'tradition' with objective and value-neutral position and understand the social symbolism which contains the tradition of the times.

정보검색에서의 사용자의 다양한 질의어는 객관적인 키워드에서 인간이 주관적으로 생각하고 느끼는 감정요소를 동반한 어휘들로 범위가 넓어지고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 감정에 기반한 신문기사 검색을 위하여 기사의 구문 분석 및 품사 태깅 절차를 거쳐 동사를 추출하고 그 중 감점을 내포하는 동사들의 관계를 이용하여 신문기사의 감정을 추출한다. 감정동사의 관계를 창조하기 위하여 감정동사들을 OWL/RDF(S)를 이용해서 온톨로지를 구축하였고 에지(Edge)기반의 유사도 측정방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법은 여러 가지 감정을 추출하고 감정 정도를 측정할 수 있기 때문에 이는 향후 감정기반 신문기사 검색에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있을 것이다.

Social issues are important factors that decide government policy and newspapers are critical channels that reflect them. Analysing news articles can contribute to understanding social issues, but it is very difficult to analyse the unstructured large volumes of news data manually. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the different views among stakeholders of a specific social issue by using text analysis, word cloud analysis and associative analysis methods, which systematically transform unstructured news data into structured one. We analyzed a total of 115 news articles and a total of 6,772 comments, collected from the selected newspapers (Chosun-Il-bo, Joongang-Il-bo, Donga-Il-bo, Maeil Newspaper, Busan-Il-bo) for two weeks. We found that there are significant differences in tone between newspapers. While nation-wide daily newspapers focus on political relations with local areas, local daily newspapers tend to write articles to represent local governments' interests.

Conceptions toward the artistically gifted were investigated through analyzing newspaper articles from 5 major newspapers for 14 years beginning from 1999 to 2013. There were a total of 1,281 articles having to do with artistically gifted, and showed a steady increase in number of articles as the years went by. Largest number of articles were about musically gifted, and an increase in number of articles were observed following new implementations in law and policy. Implications for education and policy development for the artistically gifted are discussed.

Recently, media's attention to tourism is enhanced, and the proportion of tourism related content is increasing. Hence, the present study performed a content analysis of the travel news stories in major Korean newspapers to figure out the current state of travel journalism. A rotation sampling method was employed, and 53 days in 2013 were selected. Main coding categories were type, theme, and writer of the news stories and the degree of promotional information in the news stories. Differences among newspapers and the degree of inclusion of the promotional information according to news types and themes were analyzed. Analyses revealed the differences among newspapers and the degree of inclusion of promotional information was different according to the news types and themes. On the basis of the findings, problems of the travel journalism were identified, and possible measures to solve the problems were discussed.
