Smart Vision Sensor for Satellite Video Surveillance Sensor Network (위성 영상감시 센서망을 위한 스마트 비젼 센서)

  • In this paper, satellite communication based video surveillance system that consisted of ultra-small aperture terminals with small-size smart vision sensor is proposed. The events such as forest fire, smoke, intruder movement are detected automatically in field and false alarms are minimized by using intelligent and high-reliable video analysis algorithms. The smart vision sensor is necessary to achieve high-confidence, high hardware endurance, seamless communication and easy maintenance requirements. To satisfy these requirements, real-time digital signal processor, camera module and satellite transceiver are integrated as a smart vision sensor-based ultra-small aperture terminal. Also, high-performance video analysis and image coding algorithms are embedded. The video analysis functions and performances were verified and confirmed practicality through computer simulation and vision sensor prototype test.

SDN-Based Intrusion Prevention System for Science DMZ (Science DMZ 적용을 위한 SDN 기반의 네트워크 침입 방지 시스템)

  • In this paper, we introduce an SDN-based intrusion prevention system for more secure Science DMZ with no performance limits. The proposed system is structured with intrusion-prevention, intrusion-detection, and prevention-decision subsystems which are physically distributed but informationally connected by an SDN interface. The functional distribution and the application of SDN technology increase the flexibility and extensibility of the proposed system and prevent performance degradation possibly caused by network security equipments on Science DMZ. We verified the feasibility and performance of the proposed system over a testbed set up at KREONET.

  • 배전계통의 소극적인 원격감시제어 만이 가능한 소규모 배전자동화 시스템이 1998년 처음 설치된 이후로 지금에 이르기까지 한국의 배전자동화 시스템은 종합 배전자동화로 이름만 변모 한 것이 아니라 기술수준과 표현능력에 있어서 비약적인 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 선로운영자의 계통상황 인식을 수월하게 하기위한 실지도상의 선로 표현창과 함께 기술검토를 위한 단선도 창이 추가되었고, 이를 통해 배전망 최적운영을 위한 다수의 기술검토용 운영프로그램들이 포함되어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 고장발생시 그 위치를 추정하는 알고리즘을 연구하고 이를 배전자동화 시스템에 시험 적용한 사례를 소개한다.

  • Broadband power line communications have been receiving tremendous interest In recent years because this technology enables utilities to deploy a communication network over existing power line infrastructures. Despite the enormous potential, there is some skepticism about the technology and its commercial viability. In this paper, we investigate the performance characteristic of PLC through field test carried out in actual households. Also it addresses major field deployment aspects, such as range, coverage, the number of node for operation and maintenance.

  • In this study, hydraulic characteristics for upstream migration of fish in a pool-and-weir fishway were analyzed through experiment. The results showed that streaming flow was preferable to plunging flow for upstream migration of fish and it was not good to make an orifice beneath the septum since it generates turbulent jet and eddies. Protrusions on the side wall of fishway were preferable to grooves since they decelerate flow velocity and make upstream migration easy. A vertically movable septum was necessary for a flushing of deposited bed material, and net installing over fishway was also needed for birds not to approach the fishway and eat fish.

  • DUPIC Fuel Development Facility(DFDF) is the facility to fabricate CANDU-type fuel from spent PWR fuel material without any separation of fissile elements and fission products. Unattended continuous surveillance systems for safeguards of nuclear facility result in large amounts of image and radiation data, which require much time and effort to inspect. Therefore, it is necessary to develop system that automatically pinpoints and diagnoses the anomalies from data. In this regards, this paper presents a novel concept of the continuous surveillance system that integrates visual image and radiation data by the use of neural networks. This surveillance system is operating for safeguards of the DFDF in KAERI.

  • The social networking service (SNS) is free, but the data usage fee paid to the telecommunications company and the member's information must be provided directly or indirectly. In addition, while SNS' specifications for transmitting and receiving devices such as smart-phones and PCs are increasing day by day, using universal transmission protocols in special environments such as contaminated areas or semiconductor manufacturing plants where work instructions are mainly made using short messages is not easy. It is not free and has a problem of weak security. This paper verified the practicality through the operation test by implementing IMCP, a low-power, low-cost message transmission protocol that aims to be wearable in special environments such as risk, pollution, and clean zone based on ATmega128.

  • National Radio Research Agency(RRA) has legislated technical regulations of telecommunication equipments. These technical regulations are related to safety of operators and users, service quality, accessibility for the disabled, interoperability and network connection of terminal equipment. Also, RRA drives the establishment or amendment of technical regulations for terminal equipment considering the evolution of ICT technicology and diversification of services. In 2013, RRA researched the amendment of technical regulations in relation to terminal equipment, which are related to the measurement frequency for signal band power, unwanted signal power, pulse shape.

The study for image recognition of unpaved road direction for endurance test vehicles using artificial neural network (내구시험의 무인 주행화를 위한 비포장 주행 환경 자동 인식에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, an algorithm is presented to recognize road based on unpaved test courses image. The road images obtained by a video camera undergoes a pre-processing that includes filtering, gray level slicing, masking and identification of unpaved test courses. After this pre-processing, a part of image is grouped into 27 sub-windows and fed into a three-layer feed-forward neural network. The neural network is trained to indicate the road direction. The proposed algorithm has been tested with the images different from the training images, and demonstrated its efficacy for recognizing unpaved road. Based on the test results, it can be said that the algorithm successfully combines the traditional image processing and the neural network principles towards a simpler and more efficient driver warning or assistance system.

  • 본 논문은 반려동물 강아지를 위한 전용 관리 및 지역 애완동물 병원과의 연동을 통한 긴급 조치 서비스망의 구축, 반려동물 강아지를 키우는 사람들의 커뮤니티 운영을 위하여 필요한 스마트 App.과 Web Site에 관한 설계 연구이다. 먼저, 본 논문은 서론에서 기존의 반려동물 강아지의 관리 및 긴급 구조 시스템에 관련된 상표출원 동향을 조사한다. 본론으로, 본 논문은 한이음 프로젝트로서 반려동물 강아지 서비스/시스템/콘텐츠의 설계, 대학생 멘티들이 참여하는 역할분담을 연구한다. 결론적으로, 본 논문은 반려동물의 평상시 관리와 비상시의 긴급구조에 필요한 IoT기반의 스마트시스템과 Web Page, 스마트 단말기에서 작동하는 App.의 설계, 제작, 시험, 인증에 관하여 필요한 준비사항, 시스템 개발의 절차와 지식재산권, 기술문서의 작성법에 관하여 연구한다.
