The final purpose of this study is to construct new education model through the modernization of traditional education. Our citizenship education model is expected to facilitate the democratic personality and comprise the political education program. To achieve our research project, this paper have tried to reinterpret and categorize diverse the normative, political, ideal meaning of tradition. The modernization of traditional virtue and capability is the main source of democratical citizenship against liberal representative democracy. In this context, Our education model consists of the structure of educational system, the principle of operation and the role of subject, the method of teaching through the consilience of East and West educational philosophy and practice. According to our approach to overcome and the real problems of education, modern 'Sunbei' class model can enable to form community ethics and competence. Furthermore, our new class model will contribute to becoming a democratic citizen of student and the development of Korean democracy in the future. The order of discussion in this paper runs as follows. Firstly, we will investigate into dynamic change of the traditional value on the basis of the political perspective and seek the possibility of modern reinterpretation of traditional capability. Finally, we will complete new education model including both western value and Korean traditional value and the applicable to class teaching.

The purpose of this study was to develop a music teacher training program for global citizenship education and explore its effects on the participants' capacity for global citizenship. The program focused on multicultural education, including diversity and tolerance, among various topics in global citizenship education and consisted of practice to develop lesson plans for middle school music classes as well as theory about music in diverse sociocultural environments. The results showed that this program positively affected the participants' attitudes about a music teacher's role in the multicultural classroom. This program enabled participants to identify and reflect on any prejudice they may have against diversity and multiculturalism and to consider the role of music teachers in multicultural learning environments. The program also helped the participants develop greater self-efficacy as music teachers in multicultural environments and see music as a symbolic expression and a social and cultural product. Finally, the participants showed their positive attitude toward transformative pedagogy and considered various topics in global citizenship education beyond diversity and multiculturalism through multilateral understanding and exploration about music based on theory and practice in global citizenship education.

The purpose of this study was to develop a global citizenship education (GCE) program nurturing responsibility and proactive attitude as a global citizen. A storytelling based GCE program was developed using stories stimulating empathy, immersion, reflection, and change of perspective regarding global issues. An 8 hour program was developed, and implemented on 11th grade students (n=40). Students either listened to stories told by the teacher, or created stories on their own. Paired t-test results indicated an overall increase in global citizenship and interest in learning it. This study demonstrates that storytelling methods can help students understand abstract content easily by presenting it in a concrete way with context, increase fun in learning, and enable the use of various instructional strategies and media sources.

The importance of citizen as a key of community safety has increased, and the legislation to support the citizen's activities is continued. However systematic and detailed action plans are not enough to something. Thus, the purpose of this research is to develop the educational program model for the citizens on patrol for the improvement of practical use. The methods of this research are to make and suggest the educational program for citizens on patrol by literature review and cases analysis of educational program implemented one years ago. The findings are suggested as belows. First, the learners need the contents can be practically used in the field and sufficient time of education. Second, the subgoal to achieve the ultimate goal of education program model should be established as 'customer-centered, field-oriented, competence reinforcement', and driving strategy must be composed of four stages as plan-design-implementation-evaluation. Also, for strategy of each stage, detailed sub-strategies from preparation to execution of education have to be considered. Third, education program must be categorized by basic-intermediate-expert courses depending on the level of learners, and theoretically and practically oriented curriculum subjects are organized in balance by each course.

This study sought to explain the reasons why the civic education bill failed to be enacted as many as 13 times. What we discovered as a result of our research is, first, the absence of a legislative strategy by the minority member of the national assembly on this bills. The Citizenship Education Bill was a controversial bill with great potential for ideological conflict, and after the 19th National Assembly, this bill was promoted by a minority of a specific political party. The Democratic Party's sponsoring lawmakers did not use active legislative strategies, such as exerting influence within the party to have these bills adopted as the party's platform, or developing them into major pledges for the general and presidential elections. Second, there is a consistent passive response from civic groups as well as lawmakers who signed the bill in an unfavorable public opinion environment. During the legislative process, opposing opinions were overwhelming, including concerns about the spread of leftist ideology, waste of budget and organization, and violation of neutrality and fairness in education. In addition, the passive attitude of field teachers and civic groups, who should be in charge of civic education, also served as a background for the legislative failure. Third, due to a lack of sharing of reliable information on recent theoretical research and global policy trends among stakeholders, legislation through an agreement between the ruling and opposition parties failed.

This study used data from '2016 Chungnam Citizens' Lifelong Education Needs Survey'. This analyzed the basic situation of Citizen Participation Education. It also typifies the interest and participation intention of lifelong education by region, and compared the interest and participation intention of Citizen Participation Education. Through this, we intend to provide concrete basic data for activating the Citizen Participation Education in Chungnam. We analyzed data of 4,108 people in 2016 lifelong education needs survey. This was named enjoy learning type, bias earning type, and elderly learning type. Second, the enjoy learning type group is a group that enjoys participating throughout lifelong education area. bias earning type group is a group that perceives that lifelong education is limited to vocational ability education, culture art education, and liberal arts education. These are groups that are interested and participating only in three areas. The elderly learning type group is a group that shows typical characteristics of the elderly learners and is a group that is concentrated on participation in culture arts education. Third, enjoy learning type group is the second most experienced participant. They are the group with the highest participation interest and participation intention. bias earning type group is the group with the highest participation experience. They are also the second highest group of participating interests and willingness to participate. elderly learning type group is the group with lowest participation experience, participation interest, and participation intention. Finally, we suggest the ways to revitalize Citizen Participation Education in lifelong education.

This article aims to examine the concept and historical background of Applied Theatre and its major characteristics as a newly emerging theatrical practice in recent years. With these aims, the article chronicles the history of how Applied Theatre has developed and formed as an overarching umbrella term that encompasses different theatrical praxis. Given the ambiguity and confusion of this practice, the article argues the importance of recognizing the Applied Theatre's shifting paradigm of subject and object, a crucial element in understanding the practice. Further discussed is the exploration of 'community' in regards to comparing the similarities and differences among Applied Theatre, Community Theatre, and Community-based Performance. The article concludes that the essential comprehension of Applied Theatre's uniqueness comes from noticing and perceiving the paradigm shift that places participants and community as a subject of theatrical transaction rather than as an object, as traditional theatre has done so far.

Korean churches and theology of today are experiencing a decline in reliability and a lack of communication from the Korean society due to the absence of proper reflection. Moreover, with the COVID-19 Pandemic, the church is led to a situation where the problem of survival has become a concern. In addition, churches and theology failed to restore the public nature of faith from civil society, and how these beliefs could be developed in terms of Christian education has become an important theological task. The restoration of the public nature of the church brings interest in public theology, and if education is an important area of the public forum, we pay attention to educational philosophers who provided the basis for publicness and civil democracy education philosophy in Christian education. Rousseau, as an educationalist who opened the modern philosophy of education is opening up the civil society through discovering the existence of children with the proposition "Return to Nature" in the 18th century. This study aims to use Rousseau's educational philosophy in his books Emil, The Theory of Inequality Origins, and Social Contract Theory as the basis of educational theory that opened the foundation of the public domain and civil society.

The purpose of the study was to suggest how and what human rights education goes with civil democracy education. Analysis of civil democracy education contents in the 2022 revised general education curriculum draft and that of the 2030 OECD Education project have been performed to find out what contents are necessarily included. Results are as follows: Firstly, human rights education needs to be adopted as an independent subject to be delivered with detailed and organized information. Secondly, actual experiences in diverse curricular and extracurricular activities need to be provided. Thirdly, a human rights-friendly atmosphere needs to be established to update teachers' perception and upgrade competency regarding human rights education. Lastly, it is expected that these activities facilitate adoption of human rights education curriculum into 2022 general education.
